Np. OK so I'll edit it for a miss.
Just for fun times - I'll colour your defensive magics with your innate magical emnations.
Vincent - grey fine with you?
Leonard - red fine with you?
Howard - green fine with you?

GM Mort |

Okie =) if you put up defensive buffs it'll be all yellow =)
Dakash's was blue.
Also I declared party up since you'll all get a turn before skum do, anyway.

Leonard Giles Neithan |

Red's nice, but I feel like Leonard's magic is more frequently blue, since I can't imagine lightning that isn't blue, and like it or not shocking grasp is one of the more powerful things to be doing at this level.
Also, I'm pretty sure the one in the middle has to save again to walk through the web. I've heard there was a bit of a debate, I'll try to find it.
Edit: also, I already rolled healing, should I not have? I'm fine with whatever is standard procedure, but it seems like me rolling in that circumstance was faster.

![]() |

@Leonard: Sorry! For some reason, I had that noted down as Vincent, not you...
I have rectified it ;-)

![]() |

Everyone can *use* it; we just won't.
I shouldn't, and Leonard and Vincent already have better armor.
If you want it, go for it!

GM Mort |

Yeah I mixed up grease and web. And maybe black tentacles too. Bad casty kitty.
Anyone moving through the webs must make a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as part of their move action, with a DC equal to the spell’s DC. Creatures that fail lose their movement and become grappled in the first square of webbing that they enter.
*smacks self*
Good catch Leonard. Now go take your turn =P

GM Mort |

Red's nice, but I feel like Leonard's magic is more frequently blue.
But you wear a red shirt!
Lol. OK. So what blue do you want, light blue or dark blue?
Whoever who wants to roll healing after fights, go right ahead. Just don't expect me to do it for you, because I'm a lazy arse.
Nah it's your choice if you want to top up the last 2 points of hp etc, so I wouldn't want to take that freedom of choice away from you.
But please roll in gameplay next time for easier tracking.

Leonard Giles Neithan |

I've thought about it some more, and I prefer red. A darker red, one that's more rakish and less flashy.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Grey is fine. Or he could be a pimping purple... Lol
Was I down to? Do not remember getting hit last combat as most attacked Leonard except for the misses on me.

![]() |

Yeah no you didn't take a scratch since Leonard took those blows in your place ^^
Purple? Oh Mee Gawd.
*covers eyes with paws*
But if you want purple, I'm fine purple...

![]() |

Attention Gamers:
Each PC receives 1440.81gp as their share of the loot we are selling.
-------
Now, Vincent? Leonard? Which one of you wants to claim the +2 Int Ioun Stone that is the ghost's receptacle?

![]() |

I have noted down that Seamus has the shield.
Since he was given it, and is the only member of the part that is proficient with shields.

![]() |

Fair enough.
In that case, I revise the gold per person up from 1440.81, to 1587.06gp.

GM Mort |

The change in party formation is due to the fact that Leonard does not have disguise self on him, so I figure the party would want to put those with the actual disguises in front...

Vincent Arazeiros |

Vincent suggests putting him in some unlocked manacles. In case he is noticed, Seamus may be able to bluff the guards.
I'll take the +2 int stone unless Leonard really needs it. It boosts my study time etc.

Leonard Giles Neithan |

+2 int isn't super important for me, it would give me higher DCs and an extra point of magus arcana, pretty sure that's all. Shouldn't Howard take it?
Also, just to double check, I started with 7400 gp, do I still get that share? Does that count selling the amulet of natural armor I took, or am I keeping that? It's much better value to keep it, but I feel like I ought to pay the group something, right?

Vincent Arazeiros |

Howard could if he wanted to, but since he asked us I'm assuming he doesn't.
For me it boosts a lot of skills, UMD, studied combat duration, inspiration, magus arcane pool, extracts.

Vincent Arazeiros |

About done leveling will paste it into sheet in a bit.
Since it is afternoon do we have time to shop around? Do I need to roll for all magic items? Not sure what I'll be getting yet if anything.

![]() |

@Leonard: How we have been doing treasure, is that if people claim an item, it belongs to them. Anything that is not claimed is then sold, and the proceeds split evenly between the members of the party.
Consequently, yes, you have kept the Amulet, and you *do* get a share of the gold.
@Vincent: Alright then! I have noted that you have the Stone.

Leonard Giles Neithan |

I think I'm going to save up for a belt of Dex. Anyone want me to lend them 2k gold to be returned at no interest after I get another 2k?
I could even loan it out to multiple people who are a little bit away from buying one more thing. This way, my 2k is doing something useful instead of sitting in my pocket, you're getting to buy stuff earlier, and I'm losing nothing.

GM Mort |

One thing is you can't buy it here since Thrushmoor is a small town so you only get items up to 2k in gp value. Don't worry about no magic mart too much, I'm sure Howard will find ways to circumvent that. I'm cool with that as long as it follows the rules =)
There was a plane of air shopping trip in ROW lol.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Yeah 2k limit means no +2 weapon. So I might just enchant spear so I have a +1 spear and rapier both

GM Mort |

One thing about AP life is that it isn't magic mart everywhere which many players take for granted.
I don't mind happy crafting along the way but there needs to be a ring of sustenance. I definitely won't bother about expensive material components so as long as you have the Gp for it.
The reason why I did not give the party any crafting breaks unlike ROW, is that there are opportunities at end of book 3,and in book 4 to pass by major cities, unlike ROW where after book 2 you are in the middle of nowhere.
Furthermore there's a long downtime section in book 3. 2 months worth of it, at the very least, but you need to do some stuff in between.

Vincent Arazeiros |

What about buy 3 sets of 2k magic dust and then getting someone to upgrade it to +2? Lol

GM Mort |

Company function with drinks tonight so... =)
And sorry Vincent, I missed your earlier query. I blame cell skimming. Feel free to retcon any shopping done in the afternoon, but you know, rules are rules, so you need to roll for magic items.
I had actually given afternoon free so Howard could get Claude raised but he chose not to...
Vincent - sorry. I've already been flexible in allowing piecemeal upgrades such as you pay the upgrade cost instead of having to buy the +1 weapon straight which would cost more then 2k gp(at least 2300 for masterwork) and thus out of the town purchase list.

GM Mort |

There are ways to get around this like getting Howard to use greater magic weapon for enchantments to get a + weapon etc. Won't do for DR but better then nothing.

GM Mort |

Sorry guys I'm tipsy at the moment so I can't respond. I asked for the live band to play can't you see the love tonight at my company's dinner. And was asked to sing it. I rolled with it and sang with lyrics anyway =)
If I knew I'd be asked to sing it I'd have gone for If we hold on together since I know the song better.
Both are politically correct.
I'll get to you guys when I wake up tomorrow.
Vincent - just for research purposes I drank 3 glasses of white wine and 2 glasses of red wine. I'm only 60 kg. For weight measurements.
White > red =)

Vincent Arazeiros |

white wine is always better than red wine. Just like liquor is always better than beer.

GM Mort |

Actually I'm quite partial to light beer. Haven't tried the darker ones yet. Kirin, Tsingtao, Asahi.. I like.
Cheers!
Also, I can't drink whiskey neat, finding it too harsh. Have to dilute 1 is to 1.
Reds are for red meats like beef, whites for seafood. Or so they say.
Also the last wedding I was at, red >white.
Basically I drink anything thats sweet, like Limoncellos.
But I know in my curent condition I can't do the conversation justice.

Vincent Arazeiros |

1d100 ⇒ 50
1d100 ⇒ 26
1d100 ⇒ 65
Buying an efficient quiver, boro bead, and wayfinder. Wish I had craft wonderous lol.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Leveling done. Purchased the above 3 magic items, plus an 'occult reference manual', phsychometrist gloves, and a second thieves tools, concealable. default is concealed, will spend inspiration in the evening to hide them over and over until I do it well. DC 32 perception to find, noted on sheet.
sleight of hand: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 9 + (3) + 1 = 29
sleight of hand: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 9 + (6) + 1 = 27
sleight of hand: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + (4) + 1 = 17
sleight of hand: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 9 + (2) + 1 = 32

Leonard Giles Neithan |

Not yet, it's friday night.

GM Mort |

I'll say defending bone is a little too close to Animate dead for my liking, and should there be any inter party conflict on this, the spell gets banned immediately. Or at least if you want to do it, don't do it to sentients, get a pony femur or something.

Leonard Giles Neithan |

Okay, sure. Note that it's completely in character, and I think actually says a fair amount about Leonard. Writing that he got sprayed in the face with blood and didn't flinch was nice.
I of course understand that this is way less important than respecting group cohesion. If anyone complains, I'll stop immediately with no hard feelings. Well, no hard feelings from me, Leonard would probably have a more complicated reaction that involves both positive and negative feeling.

![]() |

FWIW, Defending Bone, when it was originally published, was a specifically *Pharasmin* spell - so if it doesn't cause that particular undead-hating faith any problems, it should be kosher ;-)

GM Mort |

You just freakin took a human femur and animated it…if I were any kind of good aligned GM…I should smack you for ebulness. (Think about it…)
The spell in itself is not evil, it’s what you used for material components that is questionable.
But honestly, I don’t care lol. The only time I’d care is if it’d create party conflict.
Original ROW rules were that animating dead was fine too – but then, the party used that freedom to start squabbling, so I ban-hammered it. Might have been a knee jerk reaction, but once bitten, twice shy.
Also as I move you between encounters – it is on the onus of the group to heal up after each encounter. I am certainly not going to bot the use of the CLW wand on you. If you see a group member injured – feel free to roll the charges for him.

Leonard Giles Neithan |

Is mutilation of corpses evil in pathfinder? My own IRL instincts don't give me a clear answer about mutilation of corpses, but it should be easier to answer on Golarion, where good and evil are basically things.
I don't think I took any damage in that last encounter, so I'm all good there. I suggest we get Vincent back up to full, I think he took like ~25 points. I'm inclined to say it's up to Vincent to figure out how much healing he gets.
Also, Shield is active, right? I'm just going to assume it's always active if we hear noise from outside a door.
