Thanks for the first part of this game. I am going to bow out of this one, too many players and I feel that the Roman characters are just here as support for the Parisians. I wish you all well but this game changed too much.
Sorry to see you go, Fray. I'll mark you as inactive.

Jimeno Díaz de Vivar |

Seems I have to bow out as well, increasingly less time lately to post and read all the other posts before me. The game goes a little fast for me atm to keep up.
I did enjoy the concept though, so good luck everyone in completing the missions and ridding the land of the dragon.

Ok, thanks for giving it a try! I'll mark you as inactive.

I was tempted to do a dream sequence with Nacht but he hasnt gone to the surface yet so it isnt quite time for that. I shall wait for input.

I believe I will have to withdraw from this game, the Idea is fun, the players seem quite the joy, but I feel crowded out and the posting speed/time of posts kinda drown me out XD. I apologize.

Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht* |

Its magical stuffs, I guess if you have UMD you can use it. The daggers are good for the dagger-likes. The Falchion is a nice two hander.

Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht* |

Covering bases making sure the martials have one of each. So magic doesnt bone us either. Hrmm there was no armor either. The big item was that wand of MM.

Paddy |

With regards to the loot, Paddy can't use anything except the potions. I have mwk daggers already. I don't need the darkvision potions. Any objections to me taking the invisibility potions?

Paddy |

Hey Mr. GM-type person. Quick question...since some of the party has left, what about the party gear they had with them? Like the weapons from the fight with the gremlins and the ring we found?

Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht* |

Nacht doesnt care. you can have the Invis, the dagger might help if e go against something with DR silver... like a Vampire. On the loot of the others I had a similar question.

Iommi-Tyr Magnusson |

Just cry out for what you want and discuss why a certain PC should get something. Feel free to double-ask (If someone else, for example, wants the Scroll of Spider Climb that I'd like, say so.)
Paddy, that Invisibility is a Scroll, not a Potion.

Those who left took whatever the church gave to them along with them.

Paddy |

D'oh...my bad for reading the loot too quick. No ghost juice for me. I am ok if anyone wants any of the gear. I am good for now, got potions from earlier and got mwk daggers.

Rynjin |

Really all I wanted was the Cold Iron Falchion, which I'm trading my Greatsword to Nacht for.
The Cloak would be funny just to see how high I can jack my saves at 2nd level, but someone else would benefit more probably.

Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht* |

I could use it.. To cover Nacht when we return to the surface. Especially since.. out of all the characters here, he needs no healing and can make himself see in the dark.

Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht* |

They are faintly magical, I dont have Detect Magic however, because that was not his job. Regardless he would want the cloak for other reasons.

Paddy |

hey..just a heads up. I will be at a mini gaming con this weekend, so i might not be able to post a lot or on time. feel free to bot me accordingly. just don't get me killed...lol

HELP!
I'm still trying to choose a Third Level Feat....
Dodge?,... Weapon Focus: Splash Weapon?,... Scholar?,... Iron Will?,... something else?,....

![]() |

Um,... focus?
...I'm good at Knowledge & Linguistics.
But I need to be at least somewhat effective in combat. I'll be throwing Bombs and Splash Weapons almost exclusively, soon, so I'm also thinking of Extra Bombs.
Really, I kinda just want Scholar. But that may be overkill, especially when I hit 4th level and get double INT bonus to those checks. Of course, that was the point of this PC anyway, so...
Ultimately -- and especially since I'm new to Alchemist and Investigator -- I'm hoping some of you guys can suggest a few Feats that I've probably never even heard of. Then I can think about it.
.
.
.
(Of course right now I really ought to be finishing my PC for Mike's new Home Game -- we start in a couple hours.)

Rynjin |

There's not a whole ton you can do to optimize Bombs Feat-wise. Most of the usual ranged Feats (such as Deadly Aim) don't apply, or don't apply until you can take Fast Bombs at 8th (10th for you).
If you'd stayed in Investigator you would have gotten Studied Combat next level, then you could have snagged a Shortbow and Ranged Study and started tearing up the place. Well, ideally anyway.
Bombs as a combat focus is an iffy prospect for a full Alchemist even, especially at low levels. Even with Extra Bombs you have...7? Enough for 2 combats, maybe.
Your main problem is your stats are pretty much screwed for combat. Low Str, low Dex, low Wis (and that's an iffy option anyway). Stunted BaB.
So given that Bombs are your only viable combat option, pretty much, then yeah, Extra Bombs is your best bet.
I'd suggest Extra Discovery/Investigator Talent for Mutagen but you don't qualify for either yet.
Or, you can double down on being the Int based skill monkey and support. Screw damage, start doing stuff like Aid Another, and throwing Stink Bombs later. More than one way to skin a cat (be useful in combat). Damage isn't the only option.
Hell, passing around buffs already makes you a big contributor.

If anyone's interested in the real Margiery Jourdemayne (The Witch of Eye) and her relationship with the Duchess of Gloucester (Aunt of King Henry VI), holler and I'll give a brief recap of what they're doing in England ca. 1630.
If we do choose to go to London, Mike will probably change lots of stuff.

![]() |

King Henry VI is 8 years old in our campaign, having been King for 7 1/2 of those years. Coming to the throne at 6 months old is never an auspicious start to a reign but in England in the High and Later Middle Ages, well.... let's just say his future was never bright.
For our time period in the campaign (assuming we don't make it to 1435 when a big shift in power-behind-the-throne occurs, the two major Players are the dead-King Henry V's two brothers, (King Henry VI's Uncles) Uncle Humphrey "Lancaster" the Duke of Gloucester, and Uncle John "Lancaster" the Duke of Bedford.
Bedford was a year older (They are 41 and 40 respectively in our game.) and was officially the Regent. But since he was focusing on keeping the rightfully-ENGLISH lands in France as part of England -- and not under French rule -- his brother Humphrey ran things back home in England. (This included righteously, beautifully executing that traitorous witch, Joan of Arc, and putting several military beat-downs on the disloyal French people -- all very busy projects. To my students I've always called him "Bedford-The-Badd-Ass.")
Meanwhile back in England, Uncle Humphrey married his second wife, Eleanor Cobham, around the time Henry V died (when Henry VI first sat in his Crib/Throne). And it was SHE who hired The Witch of Eye. (Humphrey was actually a remarkably brave, honorable, educated man of the Arts (and is a childhood friend to my PC, who was childhood best friends to Henry V).
Duchess Eleanor Cobham, no doubt in an effort to eliminate King Henry VI, tried all kinds of "witchly" coups (all covered in layers of subterfuge) to propel her new husband to the Throne. (The manner of murder of Edward II -- Humphrey/Beford/King Henry V's Great-Grandfather -- by his wife Isabella The She-Wolf of France -- insured that no one was just going to outright murder babe-King Henry VI.)
Among the witchly efforts, was the hiring of Margiery Jourdemayne, who was commissioned "to devise an image of wax like unto the King .... (and) by their devilish incantations .... make the King's life dwindle away .... as they little and little consumed that image."
That is what the Witch of Eye is doing in London right now, even as we stand over the corpse of Pierre the Necromancer.
Iommi-Tyr Magnusson: But have faith in the seed of my childhood friend, the child's father -- his Constitution is Great even as a babe and I predict that despite the spells of The Witch of Eye and Duchess Eleanor, King Henry VI will live for decades and decades, outliving all his enemies.
. . . . Of course, he probably won't be a very strong King, physically or mentally, surviving all that dark magic.
(Quote from Jane Murray, The Kings and Queens of England, 1974)

Hisao of the Yellow Reeds |

For the loot discussion. Hisao skipped out on the last one as he'd just gotten the ring of invisbility. Not everyone has gotten their god gift item yet so I don't know if I should take part in this one.
Hisao could use Cha and Dex boosting items. As well as something to boost his really crappy saves.
