Calene Valdemar |

Calene withdraws her rapier from its sheathe and gives it a few light flicks through the air. "I seem to recall something about standing between me and my enemies. So...you first, Garrath," Calene says, weapon at the ready.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark continues through the maze, looking carefully around.
Moving to S22
I suggest the order, me, garrath, calene, elektra, kelvin

Kelvin Fleetwood |

Your left or right question. Is that from where we are now? or is that going to the right and the other branches at O28. Assuming the first.
"Lets head down the left towards the cliffs. Maybe we can get in a back way and surprise the little runts." suggests Kelvin. "If you need, I can sneak down that path a bit and check it out."

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath chuckles and stands in front of Calene, and looks back with a grin "Just take care that nothing comes up from behind. You getting stabbed from the rear would be a terrible waste." He stoops a bit, warding off the thistles as best he can while moving forward.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark follows Kelvin at a nice easy 15' behind him, while we are stuck in this prickly mess.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Kelvin continues to slowly move down the left hand branch till he reaches the end. He then turns around and whispering to Brandark "dead end. Lets go the other way."
He then moves down the right path till he reaches the 'T' and stealthily approaches and looks both ways.
@DM - Can you "open" up the left side of the map? Thanks
Token moved.

GM Mazra |

Kelvin finds to the left at the dead end a series of doors made of rigid mats covered with bristles and thorns. It leads to a lookout. Currently the lookout is unmanned, or would that be ungoblinned? From this place you can clearly see the odd looking knob of an island known as Thistletop. It must be a trick of the light, because you can just make out what may be a nose and an eye socket in the weathered knob.

GM Mazra |

Goblin Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
At the “T” Kelvin sees Goblins and Goblins see Kelvin. One of them screeches:

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath rushes up next to Garrath with a wicked grin on his face, and yells out a challenge to the Goblins, "Come, face me and let me send you back to your ancestors with tales of woe!" He sets his feet and readies for the attack. "Looks like we're in for some fun Kelvin."

Calene Valdemar |

Calene slowly makes her way forward, dodging thistles as she moves. Although Garrath and Kelvin may largely be out of sight, they are not out of earshot. "Run them down, we don't have time to pickle these ones!" Calene calls in her crystal voice.
+1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls for all allies.
"Yeesh," she mutters to herself. "That sounded insane evil. We're still the good guys, yeah?"

Brandark Plainswalker |

In a loud voice sounding like rocks collapsing, as Brandark moves up closer to the front.

GM Mazra |

Round One
Garrath readies for the stupid little creatures to attack.
Elektra wants to shoot her bow.
From your current position, you do not have line of sight to a target. Also, each square is double movement. I will move your token in Round One. You can use that good roll for Round Two.
Kelvin fires an arrow at the lead Goblin. But barely misses in his crouched position.
Calene's impressive oratory inspires the party.
+1 to hit/+1 to damage
Brandark yells like a Giant.
The stupid little Goblins attack, accept for one Goblin (1) who was momentarily traumatized by the arrow that almost hit him.
The second Goblin advances on the crouched Barbarian. He manages to dodge the big Longshanks.
Gob 2 Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 141d4 ⇒ 1
It manages to cut a little of Garrath's arm. 1 point of damage.
Another Goblin (3) attacks Garrath. But is to timid to get a strike in.
Gob 3 Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d4 ⇒ 3
A Goblin (4) with a short bow moves and attacks Garrath.
Gob 4 Short Bow: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 4 = 171d4 ⇒ 3
And manages to get an arrow into the big Barbarian.
3 more points of damage
And yet another Goblin (5) with a bow moves up and fires an arrow at Garrath.
Gob 5 Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 4 = 131d4 ⇒ 4
That may actually stick the crouched big barbarian.
Another 4 points of damage.
A couple of more Goblins wielding Dogslicers wait for their opportunity.
Initiative is now Elektra, Kelvin, Calene, Brandark, the Goblins, then Garrath.
Round Two
@Elektra - If you accept my move, then you will be able to drop one of the Goblins in Round Two.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Round 2
Branark yells Kelvin, move back hoping to move into the fray where Kelvin is currently sitting.
If kelvin moves back, I will move forward and attack #3

If Kelvin doesn't move, I will accept Gobo 3, getting an attack of opportunity on me, as I move to O26 on the north side of the hedge, then attacking it.

Calene Valdemar |

Is it at all possible to crawl through the areas of solid brush? Taking a full-round action to hack through or somesuch? If not, gonna just cast guidance on Brandark.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Did none of Garrath's AOO trigger?

GM Mazra |

Most of Round Two
Moving forward with Elektra attacking one of the Goblins not engaged.
Elekta takes a five foot step to get a clear shot at one of the Goblins with a Bow and returns fire. Even though she was crouching in an uncomfortable position, her arrow struck true dropping the Goblin (4).
Kelvin's shot almost again hit it's target, but alas the prickly thorns upset his aim.
Calene offer a little Guidance to Brandark.
Brandark steps in on one of the Goblins and drops the little foul creature.
Goblin 3 drops.
The other Goblins attack.
Goblin (1) foolishly get brave and attacks Brandark over its fallen comrade. Both Garrath and Brandark gets an AoO on the stupid Goblin, as it tries to negotiate the body on the ground. If it survives, it will attack Brandark. If you do not drop the Goblin, then Brandark will take 3 points of damage.
Goblin 1 Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d4 ⇒ 3
The Goblin on the big Barbarian continues to attack. It demonstrates how truly lucky was its first strike.
Goblin 2 Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d4 ⇒ 1
One of the Goblins with a bow (5) moves to get a better shot on the Barbarian. But its arrow hits into the thistle bushes. Five foot step to K26. The better shot still awards Garrath some partial cover from the thistles. -2 on its attack.
Goblin 5 Shortbow thru part. Cover: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 2 = 71d4 ⇒ 3
Another Goblin (6) drops its Dogslicer and pulls out his bow, firing at the Longshanks (Brandark) that just cut into one of his friends. (If the poor creature really has a friend.) But the nervous little creature was too anxious and his shot sails overhead.
Goblin 6 Shortbow in Melee: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 - 4 = 121d4 ⇒ 2
Two more Goblins (7 and 8) move up, waiting for an opportunity to get a chance to take down some Longshanks.
@Garrath - Go ahead and post your 2nd Round actions in the Gameplay thread.
Round Three
Everyone go ahead and give me your Round Three actions, and Round Two AoOs.

Round Two Completion
As one of the Goblins (1) gets braves and advances on Brandark, it is slowed by the fallen Goblin in front of the Dwarf. As a result, Brandark gets to take a swing at the little beast, but he misses. Garrath too sees the opportunity and takes a swing, but just barely misses too.
The little Goblin manages to strike between the armor cutting Brandark's right thigh. Brandark takes the 3 points of damage. In Round Two this is the only AoO Garrath gets, as this occurred before he switched to the Lucern Hammer.
Garrath then crushes the Goblin in front of him. Killing it.
@Garrath - Keep in mind, that though Reach weapons give you added AoO abilities, it also prevents you from attacking adjacent targets. There is always a trade off. In light of the confusion of battle, I will say you were able to get an attack in on the Goblin in front of you with the Lucerne Hammer.
Actions in Round Three
Elektra's bow shot goes wide of her target.
Kelvin's arrow gets stuck in the canopy of thorns and bristles.
@Calene and Garrath - Need your Round Three Actions. It looks like Brandark will likely miss his Round Three attack on Goblin (1).

Calene Valdemar |

If it is possible to stand in O26, Calene'll move there. Otherwise, she's gonna just keep poking Brandark with guidance. And re-start her performance next round, because the linger will wear off.

Round Three Continued
Calene move up and give a little touch of Guidance on Brandark.
@Calene - O26 has thorns and bristles in it.
Even with a little touch from Calene, Brandark's just misses the brave but stupid Goblin (1).
Garrath comes down hard with his Lucerne Hammer, crushing in the skull of a Goblin (7).
The Goblin on Brandark (1) attacks the shorter Longshanks. And is lucky we are not using a Fumbles table.
Goblin 1 Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d4 ⇒ 2
A goblin (6) just out of reach of the big Barbarian gets off a clean bow shot; and manages to find a vulnerable spot in his armor.
Goblin 6 Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 201d4 ⇒ 3
@Garrath - That is 3 more points for a total of 11 points of damage.
One of the Goblins (5) panics as its sees the big Barbarian step upon on his dead tribe member and tries to fire his bow. But the big Barbarian reacts and swings down hard with his Lucerne Hammer knocking the bow wielding Goblin unconscious.
Another Goblin bravely steps up on the crouching big Barbarian and barely manages to cut into one of Garrath's legs. Goblin (8) takes a five foot step L25. Garrath takes another 3 more points of damage. That is 14 so far. -4 on your AC is rough in this situation, but at least you are beginning to wade through them.
Goblin 8 Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d4 ⇒ 4
Yet another Goblin rounds the corner and steps over a fallen Goblin to attack Garrath. Garrath swings his big weapon at the Goblin (9) but misses. The Goblin attacks back, but misses wildly as it stumbles over the dead Goblin.
Goblin 9 Dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d4 ⇒ 1
And finally another Goblin (10) moves up. Goblin 10 moves up to L24. It is only in Garrath reach for one five foot square, so no AoO is applicable.
Round Four
Give me your Round Four actions. Thanks!

Calene Valdemar |

Calene casts a spell, and moves through thistles and dirt to arrive next to Garrath. She reaches out to send divine energy to heal his wounds. "Can't stand between me and our enemies if you're dead, Garrath."
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
No inspire courage this round; I stopped it on round 2 and let Lingering Performance keep its effect going, and its effects end this turn. I will re-up it next round. Also, I think I draw an AoO from Gobbo #1.

@Kelvin - There really wasn't an injured Goblin to shoot at.
Calene rushes to Garrath's aid.
One of the Goblins (1) sees an opportunity and strikes at Calene, cutting into the cleric. Calene takes 4 points of damage and will need to make a concentration check to heal Garrath.

Calene fails to get off her CLW spell. Garrath will still have 9 points of damage. Calene loses the spell.
Brandark taunts the little Goblin, but in doing so misses his attack upon the small green humanoid.
Garrath brings the Lucerne Hammer down hard on a Goblin (10) within reach, and squished the small vermin dead.

Garrath takes 2 points of damage from Goblin 9 and 3 points from Goblin 6. DR 1 included. ;) That will put you at a true 14 down. At least you are not bloodied yet. Oops! Wrong version! BTW - If I miss anyone's buffs, bonuses, please apply them. It is easy enough to revise.
Round Five - Merry Christmas!
You hear a chorus of weird howling-like sounds.

Round Five
Elektra takes aim again at the last Goblin (6) with a bow. But having to crouch amongst the thistles and thorns caused her to miss her mark.
Kelvin’s longbow scraped upon the ceiling of thorns, causing him to miss his shot.
Calene focuses healing on Garrath being wary to avoid any attack.
Calene’s CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Garrath heals five points of damage. Party loses the +1 from Calene. We could Retcon this depending on the outcome of further discussions in the discussion thread.
Brandark manages to strike his opposing foe so fiercely that the Goblin was physically split in two with a splatter of blood, brains and guts. Then takes a step toward another combatant. O26 has thorns and thistles in it. I previously denied Calene passage through this square too. I went ahead and gave you a five foot step to N26
The nimble Goblin manages to avoid Garrath’s mighty strike. Goblin AC is 16

Goblin 9 Dogslicer on Brandark: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d4 ⇒ 4
The Goblin with the shortbow fires at Garrath and believes to strike true, but the arrow seemed to just bounce off the big Barbarian's hide. The other Goblin on Garrath believes it sliced in the Shoanti man, but alas it too did not penetrate Garrath's skin. DR1 on both attacks failed to cause Garrath any damage.
The Goblin previously fighting Garrath (9), sees a Goblin cut in two pieces, and then turns to face its new threat. The little vermin's strike did not even dent any of the Dwarf's splints in his armor.
Round Six
