Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark coup de grace's the last doggie.
I said stay
damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3) + (3) + 6 + 2 + 4 + 2 = 26
dc26 fort save for doggie. Sorry so late on the post, but been at a course all day today and again tomorrow

Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark extinguishes the sword, and rescabbards it.
He then joins the others Well that was lively, what say we look south, then at that bridge.

GM Mazra |

When you search the Goblin Druid you find, Leather Armor, sling, spear, cloak, two vials and what looks like another Wand.
To the south you notice a cloying musky scent that lies heavy in the air. A matted nest of red and black hair sits to the east of an area that opens up a bit. Beyond a tangle of vines hang from the thorny ceiling of this chamber, each suspending a clattering collection of bird skulls, rib bones, teeth, and other bits of gruesome decor. In a few places the vines droop all the way to the floor. A large nest of nettles and thorny vines sits to the south, a halo of half-eaten dead birds and rats indicating that whatever sleeps there eats in its bed.
To the North, a rope bridge spans the gulf between the cliff and a roundish, flat-topped island sixty-some feet to the north. Thick patches of nettles and briars grow here and there atop the island, but its most impressive feature is a wooden one-story stockade. Two thirty-foot-tall watchtowers guard the stockade’s southern façade. The rope bridge itself is made of hairy rope and thick wooden planks; the whole thing creaks and sways in the wind above the churning surf eighty feet below.

Brandark Plainswalker |

I don't like the looks of that bridge. Can anyone figure out if it is safe ?

Elektra Stardancer |

With a quick cantrip Elektra checks the dead for magical auras. "I think we have taken care of the outside guards. At least we are ready for what is next."
Looking at the bridge Elektra carefully checks it stability.Kengee: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

GM Mazra |

The Leather Armor, Cloak, both Wands and vials radiate Magic.
Elektra may reconsider venturing out to test the bridge when she sees a Goblin on a Goblin Dog move into view from around the thistles and in front of the fort's double doors. It appears they may know you are coming.
From the other Goblin's the party finds 10 Dogslicers, 10 sets of Goblin leather armor, 10 small wooden shields, 5 shortbows, a sling, 5 stones that actually radiate Magic, 10GP, 35SP, 105CP. The Goblin Druid also had a pouch with 10PP & 15GP.

Elektra Stardancer |

Before testing the bridge, Elektra checks the items, hoping to get an idea what they are.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33 Cloak
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30wand
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22 wand
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29Leather armor

GM Mazra |

[dice=perception]d20+9
"Let's not be hasty with the bridge" and he looks for traps on it. "Let the vermin come to us."
It is a good that you have a high check.
Kelvin goes out to examine the bridge. He determines that the bridge is trapped. A Goblin arrow falls short of him at about the same time he realizes the bridge has been rigged.

GM Mazra |

Before testing the bridge, Elektra checks the items, hoping to get an idea what they are.
[dice=Spellcraft]1d20+13 Cloak
[dice=Spellcraft]1d20+13wand
[dice=Spellcraft]1d20+13 wand
[dice=Spellcraft]1d20+13Leather armor
Checking the Magic items for their properties takes 3 rounds per item. The Cloak a +1 Cloak of Resistance. The Wand on the ground was a Wand of Produce Flame with 30 charges. The other Wand is a Wand of Tree Shape with 4 charges. You determine that it is a suit of +1 Leather Armor. I'll give you too, that the five Magic Stones are +1 Sling bullets.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath drops the goblin, and shakes his head. "Well, I hope the goblin didn't have any information we might have used. It was subdued, and no threat." He allows his rage to fade and takes a few moments to catch his breath.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

How is the bridge rigged? Will drop if anyone heavier than a goblin or goblin dog walks on it? Will drop if a specific plank is stepped on? Or ???
"Garrath, I have dealt with goblins before and have learned their language and their habits. It would tell us anything to live, then betray us to it's masters. And this one, being a shaman would have been high ranking and its death will demoralize the others and a swift death is better than a slow death so we did show it mercy."

Brandark Plainswalker |

oh great, 2-3 elf sized, equals one dwarf sized. :)
Anyone mind if I use these indicating the sling bullets.

Zandu Sergeant of the Guard |

With the party injured, and their spells depleted they fell back to Shalelu's camp.
At the camp they find that Shalelu was not alone. Zandu, Sargent of the Guard, another Guard you have seen before in town, and another young man dressed in garb typical of a Priest of Sarenrae was with her. A small sail boat could be seen on the beach at a point out of sight from Thistletop, but within sight of Shalelu's camp.
"You all have survived so far. The Sheriff and Mayor will be pleased. Father Zantus sent us here to retrieve Calene. A situation with her family has come up and she is needed back in Sandpoint. As Father Zantus knows you will need a Cleric, he has sent you Stone, a Priest of Saranrae to help in your quest," the Sargent says in a most matter-of-fact manner.
Shalelu rolls her eyes.
Please feel free to indicate your actions up to and including this event, such as disposal of Goblin bodies if any.

![]() |

He then looks to Shalelu to confirm that was enough and see the glare and know he should say more then awkwardly adds I am good in a fight and even better at keeping you in the fight. I have seen some action in my travels but I hope by joining with you I will be able to further Sarenrae will he then steps back and hopes he has not just made a fool of himself

Brandark Plainswalker |

Dropping the sack of goblin weapons. Aye, we have survived, but all is not neccessarally for the best as they will be expecting us.
Calene, before you go, could you ask for healing for us ?
The short, stocky dwarf, then looks at Stone Do ya expect the Dawnflower to make things better, or are you going to work at it.

![]() |

I am but a instrument of Sarenrae will. he then walks over to Brandark and casts a cure mod Cure mod: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12 Then kneels down and with a short prayer channels energy to the party CE: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 But I will do what I can.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Aye, I am not disputing that Sarenrae, is with you, and I thank her, and yourself for the power that the dawnflower brings.
What I am asking, is are you willing to fight for her, and that of her people. Brandark asks as he exposes a symbol of the dawnflower.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath sits with a heavy thump, and looks at the new cleric, "Not only that, but will you stick it out when it gets tough? It seems we must be hard on our clerics." He grins, "Two have left to go pursue other goals."

![]() |

Stone looks at the group and bows his head I can only offer you my word and healing for now. You will have to judge my worth by my actions. I however do vow that I will see this to the end or die trying

GM Mazra |

The sun begins to set over the Varisian Gulf. Calene and the others will return to Sandpoint at first light.
Since there were no encounters overnight, I will not bother you with setting up watches.
Though there were strange sounds in the deep woods, the party gets through the night without incident. Calene and the two guards prepare for their journey back to Sandpoint.
Calene will help with any healing to get everyone back to healthy before she leaves. What does the party do next?

Brandark Plainswalker |

Now, we have to figure a way over that bridge. I don't know about you, but I do not have wings. Brandark asks in the morning.
While waiting for and answer, he heads over, and as he starts placing the barding back on Abacus. Abacus, guard here again.
He then sits down to sort the cash and items out.
Lady Shalelu, this is coming from my share, but for looking out after our horses, and having a camp to return to, here is some cash.
Brandark then passes her a small sack of 5 gold.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

"Have someone sneak across and secure it. Garrath shrugs.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

The evening before when we met Stone
"Greetings priest of Sarenrae. Welcome to our group." Then looking over at Shalelu and snickering, he continues to speak to Stone. "I hope you enjoy hunting goblins as much as we do."
This is what I gleaned from the way the DM presented the answer to my "how is it trapped?" question.
"I think the bridge has been rigged so if two or more of us are on the bridge at the same time, it will collapse. I will of course, head over first and then either you Garrath or you Brandark should come over after me."

Kelvin Fleetwood |

@DM - From looking at the maps, and the brief look that I got when checking out the bridge, it looks like that is the only way across as it was all water between the cliff we were at and the fort on the other side.
Correct?
Assuming the above is correct.
"I had a look over the edge and there is nothing but water between the thorn patch and island, and no obvious entrances at the base, so unless you have a boat in your pack, then bridge is the only way that I see. Did anyone else catch a glimpse of something?"

Brandark Plainswalker |

Garrath, take this, it might help you, as you can be across the bridge faster than I.
Brandark passes Garrath, the cloak of resistance
Kelvin, the druid was wearing Leather that might be benificial to you.
Disregard if the goblin druid was small. :(
As for another way, I did not see one, and I should cross after Elektra, as I am probably the heaviest and thus the most likely to break the bridge.
Thinking the crossing order should be, Kelvin, Garrath, Stone, Elektra, then Myself.
As for the magic items found on that druid, I think I mentioned the best people for them. :)

Brandark Plainswalker |

Elektra, or Stone, can you figure out what is in these two vials ? Brandark asks, I think they got missed in the chaos of the evening as we came back here.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Well, I guess we will have to sell the armour then back in town.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

"Can you foul up the rigging, and secure the bridge?"

Brandark Plainswalker |

Looking up from bagging the rest of the gear to get sold upon return to Sandpoint.
So Stone, are you and the dawnflower ready to try to bring down some Goblins today?

![]() |

Born ready. But maybe we should wait for the cover of night. When we could perhaps build a fire away from us but with in sight of the goblins as a way to pull there attention

Brandark Plainswalker |

Stone, that is an idea, but I think that night will provide more of a problem for us, and not for the goblins.
Calene, I think we will take you up on that offer.

Ranger Shalelu |

Shalelu will look at the gear you snagged off the dead Goblins, "The armor and shield here are from three different Goblin tribes, none of which are from the Thistletop Goblins."
What does the party do next?
