Garrath all but drops his food at the sound of the thunder, but laughs at himself when he realizes it's part of the show. The shrill voices he realizes aren't, given the reaction of the people. He drops his drink and food, and grabs the massive curving blade that was slung in a scabbard over his shoulder. He roars out a battle cry hoping to do two things, clear out the commoners, and challenge whatever it is that's making them scream.

The Goblin's Initiative

Garrath sees Goblins to the Northwest near a cart. One Goblin is standing on the cart. He may react with whatever remaining actions he has. Any NPCs within two squares of Garrath, move away from Garrath in the opposite direction. If you could be so kind to move those NPCs, it would be appreciates; as I still do not have access to map functions :)

It depends on whether or not you are considering his drawing the weapon part of this same action. If it is(movement action) then Garrath will move about 1/2 way to the cart to see what they are going to do(2nd movement). If it is not, then Garrath will charge goblin 1 and attack.


Garrath, you have a base attack of +1, so you can draw your weapon as a part of a move action. Your Perception I treated as a Free Action as you had a clear line of sight to the Goblins. CHARGE AWAY!

Edit: You can also draw your weapon and Charge as a part of a Full Round Action.

Shaking and grumbling, Brandark looks around, and says "By Sarenrae's blessed buttocks, I did not expect to be able to see over everything"

Lyr moves forward then looks at the goblin behind the cart. She waves her hand in his direction, Come join the festivities, but first put down your sword. She beckons him towards her.

Casting charm person on goblin #2. DC 15 Will.

Hearing the scream of the town folk who scatter to the winds, Kelvin pulls out his longbow and shoots at the closest goblin to him (Goblin #1), before it has a chance to move, but his arm is jostled by one of the fleeing villagers and his shot misses.


A Goblin near a well (4), jumps up on the narrow sides and threatens two of Sandpoint's citizens, slashing menacingly his odd little sword with holes along the blade. The little monster slips and falls into the well. After about four second anyone near the well hears a splash.

Could someone right click and cut (remove) Goblin 4 from the map. Thanks.

Elektra cast Enlarge Person on a startled Brandark.

This increase changes the creature’s size category to the next larger one. The target gains a +2 size bonus to Strength, a –2 size penalty to Dexterity (to a minimum of 1), and a –1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to its increased size. A humanoid creature whose size increases to Large has a space of 10 feet and a natural reach of 10 feet. This spell does not change the target’s speed. It will last for ten rounds.

As Kelvin is jostled about by the crowd his arrow goes astray.

A Goblin (1) has jumped up on a wagon, knocking its contents to the ground. He notices a tattooed "longshanks" screaming and heading for him. The little cretin swings wildly.

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 101d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

But doesn't do anything more than add to the breeze.

Garrath adds to the breeze as well.

Another Goblin(2) is stuffing dried fish from a barrel into his pockets, when a Female Human gets his attention.

Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

The Goblin drops his funny little sword and immediately becomes enamored with the Pretty Human Woman. He moves next to Lyr and looks up at her longingly.

If someone could move Goblin 2 to L7 it would be appreciated.

Yet another Goblin(3) under the wagon enjoys licking the dog's blood off his sword.

Sheriff Hemlock had left the town square area just before the assault to handle another problem back towards the wharf.

Kelvin, cursing in elvish at his bow, drops it, and moves to behind the goblin flanked by the large man(I7), drawing his rapier as he moves. Once there "hit him hard!" he yells at the man.

Lyr looks around, seeing that the other goblins are pretty well taken care of, she bends down to eye level with "her" goblin. What's your name? she begins, then almost on top of that, she casually asks, And are there any more of you guys around? she waves her hand in the direction of the others but quickly speaks to keep his attention on her, Aside from those, I mean.


The Goblin's command of the "Common" tongue is adequate to comprehend Lyr's questions. "Me Podthickle," the odd little creature says with a touch of exuberance in his response to Lyr's first question. "We be many," he says with pride to her second question.


Okay Podthickle, Lyr says, standing up. Show me the others.

As the Goblin under the wagon begins to rise, he is struck by an arrow. Surprised as consciousness begins to fade, a brief moment of utter terror is seen on the little Goblins face as a massive Dwarf’s axe blade splits him in two. The Goblin’s dead body falls on both sides of the Enlarged battle axe.

Could someone please remove Goblin 3? Thanks! In this large open area the house rule for bodies will likely not come in to play.

The Goblin on top of the wagon does not notice Kelvin sneaking up from behind. He lunges his odd little blade at the Shoanti human.

Goblin 1 attacks Garrath: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The little Goblin's thrust misses, but so too does the Shoanti man's blade.

Podthickle looks up at Lyr, then looks around toward the South and the wharf, then to the west toward the Old Light, and finally looks toward the north gates. He doesn't immediately see any of his comrades, but innocently responds to Lyr, "All over."

Round Three

And in the case of the goblin Brandark hit, Podthickle's response is literal.


Lyr looks over at the large dwarf, the elf and the strange shoanti, Hurry up, this one says there's more. Stepping to the side, she touches Garrath, The power of Shelyn guides you. A surge of power moves through her to him.

Cast Guidance on Garrath. +1 to any attack roll, saving throw or skill check.


The scenes beyond the square is utter madness. Screams occasionally pierce the constant mantra of the Goblin chant. In the twilight and down the streets and alleyways, people and Goblins are seen running hither and yond. The light from fires can be seen to the south and west. The Cathedral has become a sanctuary as Father Zantus ushers frightened citizens in. He can be seen at the front doors, an odd looking star-like weapon in his hand.

Go ahead and take two rounds of actions (three and four). Round four should be a bit of a lull to regroup. After you have ended your Round Four actions look at Round Five spoiler and the next spoiler map

Round Five:
And suddenly a bloom of fire erupts on the cart that was brought out for the bonfire. More Goblins can be seen to the southeast side of the square. Need your help. Start your character at the same coordinates where you ended Round 4. Brandark will need to be enlarged. And finally, and this one is trickier, could someone copy and paste Goblin 2 to represent Podthickle, assuming he is still up. The image will need to be resized to fit the squares. Thanks! As he is behind a goblin, Kelvin's rapier strikes true and critically wounds the beast.
Assuming that it is dead
"That was too quick, and too easy. There has to be more of them around" and he moves back to where Electra is standing, and switching to his bow again, while putting his rapier away. "Lady Electra, are you ok?"

As more of the beasts show up to the south, he quickly says "I will be right back" and moves closer (S10) so he can get a shot at the closest goblin (G3), but he misses.

Comments on Rounds Three and Four: With Kelvin having the higher initiative Goblin 1 became a shish kabob. With the one Goblin under Lyr's charm, that ended the first assault.

She turns away from the dwarf and back to Podthickle, Okay. I want you to find as many goblins as you can, and get them to leave the town with you. Can you do that? And no burning, looting or killing till you're away from the city. Understand?

As the little goblin runs off, Lyr moves around the stage, coming towards the second group of goblins.

Could someone move me to Q18? I can see the map at work, but can't manipulate it.


Done, and I moved your little buddy with you, since I don't know what the DM will have him do.


That works, if I can't get him to do that, maybe I could at least get him to help protect me or something.

Round Five. The wagon in W18 and W19 is a raging fire.

A Goblin (Y17) holding a Shortbow with a whip at her side takes a step (W17) to receive cover from the burning wagon and fires an arrow at an over-sized Dwarf.

Goblin Warchanter attack Brandark: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 161d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

If I am calculating this right, Brandark has an AC18, -1 size penalty for being Large, also -2 Dexterity to 12 for another -1 to AC for AC 16. The Warchanter hits Brandark for 4 points of damage. Let me know if I missed something or miscalculated.

Brandark is hit by a Goblin's arrow.

It would be appreciated if someone could move the Warchanter to W17. She has the first initiative in the round.

A Goblin (G2) with its odd little sword in one hand, and a torch in the other moves (to T15); and attacks an approaching Shoanti Man with his torch.

Goblin 2 attacks Garrath: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 181d2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3

The additional +1 is Fire Damage.

Garrath is struck by a Goblin's torch. Garrath takes 3 pts of damage.

Elektra's shot sails wide of the frantically moving little Goblin.

Another Goblin (G3) runs up (to R18) and waves it torch at a Human Female approaching behind the stage.

Goblin 3 attacks : 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 01d2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3

On one of the Goblin's slashes with the torch, the fiery stick goes sailing out of its hands and lands under the raised wooden platform. The Goblin stares at the torch as it flies out of his hand.

Kelvin's bow shot also sails wide.

Brandark advances toward the Goblins.

Yet another Goblin, spurred on by the Warchanter moves around the south side of a tent and attacks the really big Dwarf (to U13) with its torch.

Goblin attacks Brandark: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 41d2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4

The Goblin intimidated by the Dwarf's size is ineffective in its assault.


Another Goblin spills some pitch that was to be used as an accelerant for the bonfire on to himself. He then gets too close to the burning wagon and erupts in flames with screams that are an odd mix of pain and joy. The Goblin dies quickly.

Please remove Goblin 4 from the map. Thanks again!

Round Six

Kelvin moves to the closest goblin, switching out his bow for his rapier, and misses horribly.

attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 171d6 ⇒ 1, the arrow hits the goblin between the two defenders but just scratches the goblin.


The Goblin Warchanter concerned about this giant Dwarf (How’s that for an Oxymoron?), waives a hand and mumbles, casting a spell.

Warchanter cast Hideous Laughter on Brandark. Will save. (DC 12)

Brandark’s Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Brandark start to laugh. Then it becomes an uncontrollable laughter that causes the massive Dwarf to fall to the ground.

Brandark is prone. The affect will last one round. I will wait for Garrath's actions, then post the other Goblin's actions for Round Six.


The Goblin (G2) that hit the Shoanti human with the torch, gleefully tries again to set the big longshanks on fire.

Goblin attacks Garrath: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 51d2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3

But this time Garrath avoided the little menace.

Elektra hits the Goblin(1) that was nervously attacking Brandark. Startled the Goblin looks around and sees an Elf right behind him and the other that hit him with an arrow. It can't see it leader, whose view is blocked by the tent. The clumsy little creature becomes panicked, stumbles and falls.

Goblin 1 is prone in U14.

Kelvin's thrust missed as the Goblin stumbled away from him.

Brandark, you are on the ground through Round Six as the Warchanter had initiative on you. The laughter will stop before your Round Seven actions. You are however still prone.

The brave little Goblin in front of Lyr, takes a step (to Q18) and attacks with his odd sword since his torch is beginning to ignite the wooden platform nearby.

Goblin 3 attacks Lyr: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 231d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Goblin 3 critical hit?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The Goblin strikes Lyr, ducking under her Glaive.

Lyr take 2 points of damage. Crit was not confirmed. Had a window to post, so I did so.


Lyr steps back again, and begins muttering to herself. Shelyn bless this weapon. She touches the tip and it begins to glow with magic energy.

Casting magic weapon. +1 to damage and attack for 1 min.
