Okay, comparing my most recent post and Alexandra's, I think there's a little confusion. I read Sal's comments and the fire attack as a "parting shot" and that they're leaving.
Alexandra seems to think that they're coming in to continue the attack.

Well the initial idea was to keep public response contained, but then things got a little (hog) wild. They might step in soon though.

Mercy can't currently speak or move as per the girl's move, so there's nothing me could do that would affect Wingblade's attempt to provoke from my understanding.

Just a heads-up,... I'm off on a four-week trip to the UK with family next Sunday. I'll do my best to post when I can, but don't expect to have a whole lot of opportunities to do so.

IIRC, in game it's Thursday. Between now and the gala, I had something I wanted to do on a Thurs/Fri (and ideally Kaoru would find out about the mandatory attendance either before that or around that time). Though I could probably make up some reason why it wouldn't need to be towards the end of the week if need be.
or maybe we get a weeks respite/ we f~!*ed up hard enough whips letting us cool off before throwing something our way again, ad it's next week.
also, Cassie, Wing, and Bron I'm looking for opportunities for a Villain I've had simmering to approach you when your alone (like mercy got approached).

I've got a huuuuuge post-fight post for Wingblade planned (and already drafted -- just waiting for the chance to post it), that's going to shake some things up for the team. Hope you all like it.
From there, I think we all need a serious breather to let things settle a bit and for us to digest all the different revelations. I mean, we've got:
Mercy's death/rebirth
Cassie's mom's minions(?)
Bran/Bronwyn revelations
Shaun's doppelganger
Off the top of my head. There's more, plus the shake-up I have planned.
It's almost too much; I think going forward we should try less ambitious battles. I think one or two twists would be enough.

Cassie, wow, four weeks! Sounds like that should be a lot of fun. Hopefully you'll still get to participate in the gala at least a little bit. I wouldn't be surprised that it takes a couple weeks to get through all the downtime necessary conversations and heart-to-hearts.

I also don't think we have to be too specific with how much time passes. There can definitely be low-grade action going on in between Issues as well (so I don't think we need to increase Whip's concerns), so I'm happy to see some villain rumblings :-) Is that something where you'll want to drop us into a scene? Or is there a way we should write our way into one?
Speaking of which, I'm going to want to start working Balor back into things in the background...

I'm sure we'll get the opportunity soon enough - I'm sure Alexandra's still pretty bruised and sore even after the medics have had a go at her. We could still sort it out during the aftermath of the battle...
By the way, just wanted to say that Kilt did a great job working up some fun minions for Circe. Nice work! Loved Ery and the pig-people.
I would like to deeply thank you all for your patience with me. I hope you all had fun despite the constant delays. That being said, please someone take this GM seat away from me for the love of God. I'm ready to not be the one in charge for a good while. 8P
I would also like to say that y'all made this go waaaaay off course. I was flying by the seat of my pants so much. Most of what happened in the park was supposed to happen in Encantado's lair, which was going to be much bigger and more complex, including a fight with Salamander which kinda just never ended up happening.
Random list of things that never got used:
> The ambassador was going to be in favor of more restrictions on teenage heroes, which was going to cause conflict when she was rescued.
> The Blonde was going to rescue Encantado from police custody by using Mr. Sousa as a human puppet/shield/hostage.
> If given the chance, Encantado's last resort was to turn into a blue whale and try to squish everybody. He also had crazy Storm powers that never really came to fruition.
> There were so many investigation details that never got used because nobody did research. Details like how all the abductees could have passed for Brazilian, one of the detectives on the case was a helot, that the magical script was actually an ancient language that another hero could have recognized, the Encantado is an actual mythical creature, etc. etc.

I got the idea after a brainstorming session for an entirely other game. I had a vampire sorceress who needed extra minions for a boss fight, and I had the idea for her to turn the bats she summoned into soldiers to fight for her. Then I was like "Hey, it's like a reverse Circe." Cue lightbulb.

She'll only miss the fish if Kaoru changes the message before she notices it. Currently the screen is set to "<fish picture> ? <man picture>" with music playing. So if it was unclear, all 3 things are on the same screen; she didn't flash each one in order (she's aware of how easily that latter version could be missed).

I do have a name, but Kaoru isn't willing to share it. I figure it can always be changed later, so as long as it's not obviously insulting or anything, Kaoru will kind of go along with whatever. I mean, she hasn't yet said anything about Alexandra referring to her as "Machina" so...*shrug*
Also, I suspect Kaoru's about to feel very conflicted about this fight and whose side to take.
I noticed the "Machina" but I don't think Wingblade heard that... so she'll have to come up with something, since she's not going to use Kaoru's real name, certainly.
