I know that sometimes when you engage someone and they do their condition reaction it can lead to Powerful Blows anyways, but it just didn't seem like that was the context here :-)

The Halcyon Heroes Gala!
once a year, in the spring, the sponsored heroes of Halcyon city, their guests, and the citizens whose generous contributions help maintain these teams, host a Masquerade ball. if you can afford an invitation, or you're one of the lucky few to receive one from the lottery, it is a night of splendor. the best caterers in the city, Classically trained, experienced musicians, an a gorgeous, enormous dance floor, and perhaps, a chance to share a dance with those heroes who fly above you every day.

Nope! Thought about it more. Muuuuch better if Bran and Bronwyn are both invited and she feels like they both have to go!
Of course Alexandra would swing it so they're both invited... a week ago, she would want the to see them interact, but now, after Bron called it "Her Spear" and the Doc said something about it retaining potency even in this reduced form... she wants to see them in the same place at the same time

and the font size on my screen made it so that "Me, the spear" were the first words on an adjacent line, so I mentally logged it as Bronwyn accidentally referring to Gae-Dearg as her spear... sorry.
on a barely related note, a friend of mine is making a game we've been, unofficially, calling "Ars Magica with the serial numbers filed off", and one of the "Moots" (schools) is a big ol' Mabinion reference. and it's called the order of the cauldron, after Bran the Blessed's cauldron... they were very surprised when I noticed.

Given that I was thinking about this while in line for dinner and my friend/coworker wanted to know what I looked so excited for, I'm going to say that this is a thing that really needs to happen.
I'm also going to say that Whippoorwill has always managed to avoid having to attend the gala, but this year because of her sponsorship of the team she absolutely has to go.
Much to her chagrin.
Seems like the idea has popular support.
I mentioned something about Alexandra not knowing how to dance back in April, but I wanna do a dance lessons scene, so retconing that. cause her dad's been dragging her to these since she was 10.
@Alexandra: I LOVE that idea! Just the thought of somebody forcing Shaun to wear a suit sounds great to me! You want to take the next "arc" after we're done with Encantado? If so, anyone have an issue with that?

I'd like to put in a request though for some time between arcs though. Partially, I'll freely admit that I've got a Bronwyn/Shayera date burning a hole in my pocket, but also, it'd be good to see some more solo vignettes and two-person interactions - especially if it's between some characters that haven't spent too much time together yet.
Like, Bronwyn needs to talk to someone in the know magically about what she's been learning, which is Cassie if she's interested, and probably Mary-Beth on or off panel either way :-p
Kaoru might actually **gasp** want to talk to Shaun to find out more about his brother.
Shayera and Alexandra probably need to have a showdown about leadership.
Alexis and Cassie dealing with any fallout of their 'bunking' situation.
Or whatever!
Seconded. I just had an Idea I decided I liked. but I love the "wandering Narrative" stuff, probably more than the arcs.
Adding to that list:
* Cassie and Alexandra getting soused and commiserating about parents (and Alexandra probably learning not to play misery poker with Circe's daughter.)
* Alexandra getting cuddly with Kaoru in the HQ, and Mercy interrupting.
* I don't know why, or if anyone else cares, but I wanna see a bit more of the parahumans who don't run around in tights.
* and, I have some Gillian stuff that might happen to people.

Lol, Shaun and I literally had this conversation a couple of months ago (in terms of assigning people these roles).
Also, Kaoru has no intention of asking Shaun about his twin. But I do have some other stuff that I would like to do before the gala.
What was your guy's list?
Took me a while to find because Paizo's PM system is terribly designed, but this was Shaun's proposal from March 20th (I hadn't heard of these archetypes before):
LEADER: Wingblade
LANCER: Kilt, Kaoru
HEART: Mercy, Hex
BIG GUY: Bran
SMART GUY: Silver Shadow
I'm surprised that sweet, merciful tries-to-bring-everyone together Bran doesn't show up as the Chick/Heart on any of these lists lol
oh yeah, you're totally right.
Bran joins Bron as the Chick of Alexandra's list, and Kaoru is bumped to sixth ranger (mostly casue they don't super want to be here).
I think Bronwyn should enlist Mary-Beth to find a glamour and go to the gala as Bronwyn so she can throw suspicion off that she and Bran are the same person.

As Alexis will be out of control, I leave it to Kilt to decide when I can get back conscious control of her. Until then, he has free reign to decide how Mercy will act out when she's lost it. It's another spanner in the works of this fight for sure.
Not sure if this is what you meant by rundown, but
- Alexandra and Shaun are by where the SCA van was
- Bran is defending Cassie from the pig minion hoard who just got a lot more dangerous thanks to their leader hulking out
- Alexis was fighting the leader until he transformed and crushed her arm, causing her to go kill mode
- The pig leader then threw Alexis at Wingblade, knocking Wingblade out of the air. Alexis just choked Wingblade into unconsciousness(?)
- Since he no longer has to deal with Alexis, pig leader went after Kaoru, who was in a tree to avoid the stampeding/fleeing civilians. Kaoru then threw SS's grenade into the pig leader's mouth to distract him enough for her to run away
I had meant his scars. But thank you, 7 players make battles chaotic affairs.

There's always the Defenders who could pop out of the woodwork to swoop in and save the day (stealing our glory, too!). If you're looking for a way to wrap up this continually escalating battle!

Alexandra facing a battle hazed Mercy is interesting. Especially since she's currently Mercy's Rival. You can play with that, or if you want, you can play it out feeling you have no choice but to take Mercy out. I'm interested to see what she does!

Well, I'm wondering if that hit counts as Mercy being taken out. This seems like a good enough dramatic moment to use one of her moves if that's the case, if Kilt thinks so.

Anyway, FYI, I just want to point out (before anyone mentions it in game), that because of Cassie's Temporary/Unstable result when she was dispelling illusions, Shayera's tiger tattoo is no longer visible.
Probably the only team members who were around to see it would have been Shaun and Cassie. I think everyone else was not around (or Elsewhere).
