Round 10: Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Failing to discern zombies from vampires, Rai looses another regular arrow at the nearest target.

"At least I actually hit it this time..." he mutters to himself.
Jeebus, the damage dice do not like me today! Maybe they'll be kinder to me when I start using my sword. Would it make sense to ready a move action in case the barricade gets overwhelmed?

Seraphina Medvyed |

Accepting Raging Song AC 24, Fort +1, Will save +8,+10 vs Evil, 40 HP
Seraphina continued to let the cadence of the song pull her into a battle rhythym, loading the crossbow mechanically along with the pace. Then she charged the bolt with arcane power, which looked like glowing, green vapor clinging to the tip.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
She took a step forward, hoping to find a clearer view and nearly bumped into Hundor as he stepped back away from the smoke of the rancid undead. She squinted through the haze, trying to distinguish those forms moving more fluidly, but with the darkness and smoke she could do little more than distinguish forms moving in among the fires.
Round Ten
Move: Load crossbow with mundane bolt,

Swift: Charge Arcane Strike

Fire Light Crossbow+BC: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 = 20 Damage+AS: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
She calls out to the group. "Is there anyway to tell if these are summoned zombies? Some seem to be falling away to nothing, while others *cough* are definitely lingering."

Koldur of the Axe |

Round 10 still.
"Look for the summoner. Archers fire at will." Koldur calls out upon hearing Seraphina's question.

GM Wolf |

Round 10
Koldur, Seraphina, Koldur, Toki, Ingvarr, Johanna, Meir, Sable, Hundor, Alembic.
Seraphina and Rai hit the undead on the front line but it doesn't seem to faze it. Toki charges again splattering another undead upon the end of his lance. The harpies continue to throw their distance attacks.
1d20 ⇒ 1
The undead move forward...
Only one gets within range of the melee line but Meir gets an AoO who misses.
1d20 ⇒ 2

These appear to be the last of the undead attacking. No waves follow, though some of the shadows did get away. There is a crack of lighting and the peal of thunder right after it. Then you feel the tip tapping of rain begin.
The undead charge over the barricade and bon fires. The closest vamps turn into gas or fog or something.

He suggests to Johanna, "You must like the fire and the smell, back up here with me and let them come to us! Let the flames do their work."

Meir the Dragon |

Round 11
He shouts out, "Hey whoever is behind the dragonkin back up, I am going to bat the stench and stoke the flames while I wait for the undead." Then soon after be unflurls his wings to their normal lengths and bats pushing the stink away, as the flames grow in size. Readied to strike the first in his range.

Toki dodges this way and that, realizing he has to return back to the group before he gets swarmed by the approaching horde.
"Fire! Burn them! Throw fire and kill!!!"
His goblin voice carries across the battlefield despite the snarls and growls of his mount.
RD 11: withdraw back to the steps and prepare to defend the others.

Johanna "The Cat" Sinclair |

Oops I didn't move back after wolf asked me about stepping in the fire. :)
Johanna stands ready beside Soren ready to strike any that enter her threat.

Seraphina Medvyed |

Seraphina prepared to pull another bolt from her quiver when she heard Toki call out.
"Fire! Burn them! Throw fire and kill!!!"
His goblin voice carries across the battlefield despite the snarls and growls of his mount.
Worried that the goblin cavalier and his mount had been caught, she focused on the source of his voice and spotted the cluster of undead all around him and his wolf. "He needs help!" she cried and rushed forward as far as she could safely go and reached out her hand. A glowing nimbus like green flame surrounded her and then leaped from her outstretched fingertips, arcing through the dark to sear the vampire spawn standing between Toki and herself. The corrosive power of the blast melting hair, flesh and dissolving cloth indiscriminately. Then with a flick of her wrist, the energy leaped again to the spawn standing right beside the first.
Round 11 (Refusing Raging song, so stats back to normal as above)
Move: forward 10 feet to reach spell range
Standard: Cast burning arc on gray spawn just north of Toki as primary target, and magenta as secondary target.
Burning Arc Primary Damage+BA: 5d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 5, 2) + 5 = 28
Burning Arc Secondary Damage+BA: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5) + 2 = 13
Reflex save for half damage. BA equals Bloodline Arcana since Sera's burning arc does acid damage.
I got your back, Toki. We reckless, impulsive, Chaotic characters have to stick together. ^_~

Alembic is going to just keep his previous readied action to Magic Missile a Vampire Spawn.

Koldur of the Axe |

Round 11
"Has their leaders finally decided to send their actual warriors now to battle?" Koldur muses aloud.
His eyes still waiting for that break in battle to signal where he could best be involved in.

GM Wolf |

Round 11
Koldur waits. Rognar takes a 5 foot step forward and channels which affects undead within a 30-foot radius, blasting away most of those in the fire. Seraphina moves forward and shoots an acidic arc towards the threat next to Toki and burns them but they don't drop. Ingnarr's shot hits but has little affect against the undead as the arrow is easily torn out. Through Toki's excellent handling of his mount avoids an attack then quickly retreats back to the group...a barrage of attacks comes your way as you go, luckily none of them damage or even hit much of your wolf's armor. Toki gets burnt a little as you go through the fire, 1d6 ⇒ 3 but your mount takes the brunt of it, 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6. The cloud comes around the fire and continues up the stairs. The zombie nearest comes at you and hits with its slam dealing 6 damage and then it succumbs to the flames.

Ingvarr Battlecaller |

Round 12:
"General, the vampires come. Should I call for special ammunition? asks Ingvarr as he backs away from the mist, hoping that Rognar's channeling might have affect the vampires--even perhaps in their mist form.
To the rest of the combatants, Ingvarr unleashes another Battle Cry (2/6, swift action) to help against possible Vampire fear effects, calling, "Join me in battle song, brothers!

Koldur of the Axe |

Round 12
"Mist? A spell to summon forth wind or maybe if you gather enough to flap your wings hard enough, you might cause them to suffer even more." Koldur laughs as he readies his weapons, finally. The time has come for him to engage the enemy soon.

Johanna "The Cat" Sinclair |

Johanna knows all about vampires based on previous knowledge rolls.
"It has taken gaseous form. Magic weapons can hurt it in this form."
Round 11
She steps to the mist and attacks into it.

Seraphina Medvyed |

Sorry, thought I had included it. Reflex save DC 18 for half damage.
"Meir please hold my sword!" He quickly and loudly asks the dragon. Then with his hands free he quickly cast shield once more. "Thank you. Seraphina get behind me! No undead should mare your beautiful skin!" he states with almost a shout from the wind of Meir's wings.
Sera moves back behind Hundor as directed, blushing with embarrassment at the comment about her skin.
She cleared her throat and called to Sable, "Is it time for silvered projectiles, General?" She then loaded the crossbow with the appropriate bolt.
You actually don't need two hands free to cast. A two-handed weapon can be held in one hand momentarily while you cast with your free hand.

Toki Wolfrider |

"Ragghh! Why am I getting bigger? Magics!"
Toki feels himself growing larger, sliding from the saddle as he doubles in size. He stows his lance then draws out his sword, standing next to Wartooth in the front line of combatants.
"Where is the guy to chop? Point me at im and I'll chop him good!"
Wartooth falls back behind the dragon and stands ready to return and be remounted.
Ride for Rapid Dismount: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33

GM Wolf |

You would think that the mist would be blown back but it appears to have no effect on the mist. I was wrong...
With Meirs flapping wings the mist doesn't move as fast, almost as if it is moving against the wind.
Johanna you would have had to jump into fire to hit the invisible enemies on round 11, so I am going to void that attack.

GM Wolf |

The zombies are cleared easily as Meir helps Toki and the few others get mopped up by others.
Round 30 comes and the man in the suit keeps the umbrella up and his lights swirl above it. He clears his throat and offers, "What need of you harpies? I am only here for the tower. Why do you fight for them?

Johanna "The Cat" Sinclair |

"I am Johanna Sinclair, Paladin of Iomeda. Ruler of the new settlement to the east of here. I will help all living if it is withing my power when they choose to stand against the abominations of undead masses and their leaders. Leave this place. It is under my protection."

GM Wolf |

"As you wish, we will do this the hard way." He says in iritation and becomes mist himself.
Another 20 rounds pass before you see the rolling darkness get within 60 feet of the stairs. It blocks the mist and fills the air. You can barely see more than 5 feet...
The last few rounds you started hearing big things moving towards you...

Koldur of the Axe |

Round 50
30 +20 round rights?
Koldur was getting a bit testy. Weren't those undead invaders here to fight or were they here to bore them?
The words spoken by the man may not have being heard clearly but the weaponsmaster heard enough.
Bring the army down already!

Ingvarr Battlecaller |

Ingvarr asks the others, "Does anyone have a way of clearing that mist so we can see what we are dealing with?"
To Sable, he comments, "I will sound the battle call at your command, General."

Johanna "The Cat" Sinclair |

Round 50
Johanna continues to stand at the ready. She concentrates detecting evil ahead to know how many are approaching.

Seraphina Medvyed |
