Round 4

Everyone double moves except for Seraphina. I moved everyone already, if you want to take a standard move yourself back a move action. Seraphina gets off her burning arc and singes it. The vampire double moves on the ceiling and runs up the stairs upside down until the stairs stop, which he takes 5 feet of movement to drop and continue moving.

Reflex DC 18: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Round 5

If Johanna you can charge the vampire with an overrun of Rai, so he would choose to jump out of your way as you do it if he wants. If he resists you must beat his CMD with your CMB. If he doesn't post before you post, you may assume he does not resist and you get to charge the vampire. Everyone else might get a standard after taking a move action.

I'm in full plate. Movement is only 20' so 40' on a charge or double move. Now since we are in a hallway Johanna will run-up to the vampire giving it an AoO. Not interacting with Rai. Jogging along the 10' hallway beside him.

If the vampire takes the bate and attacks Johanna she tries to parry it away and riposte into the creature.

Round 4:

Since Ingvarr goes immediately after the vampire, I assume he would have to take a double move to get to his current location on the map. Instead he will single move and refresh his Raging Song (16/16, so this round plus 2 lingering rounds and song is.done for the day).

Rather than guess at a vampire’s action, let’s wait until after the vampire goes and Ingvarr will take his round 5 turn.


Out of rounds as the vampire does swing at Johanna and takes a massive wound to its arm, then it runs into the next room. He nearly falls into the fountain but then goes through the portal which only leaves behind a mirror.

Spellcraft DC 22:
The mirror is a magical passage. Twice a day someone may go through it to the mirror's mate.

K Religion DC 10:
The room is a defiled alter.

K Religion DC 15:
Cleaning the fountains, removing the corpses, and purifying the water might remove the defilement.

K Religion DC 20:
You are pretty sure this was a temple to the God of magic. Drinking from the alter should give you a few spell levels back or uses per day of a special you possess.

K Religion DC 25:
Once clean, pray to the God of magic, to bless this alter again, then cast the highest spell you know into the water to bring the hallowed effect back.

”Yes, or submerge face down it in a cistern of holy water resting on a hundred wooden stakes ready to impale any vampire who comes through... I do not know if this is its first or second use today, of course,” responds Ingvarr. Sensitive to their domains of expertise, Ingvarr shares what he knows about consecrating the altar with Sable and Rognar, then begins aiding the cleric in restoring the site and dealing with the mirror.

Seraphina nodded wearily. "I will be well, my friend. Though I may need a haircut." She remarked while running a hand over the singed ends of her bright red hair and watching them fall away to ash. "You can always count on me to do what I can to keep you safe. I only wish I could do the same for everyone. As it stands, that extended battle has me quite spent."

She drearily began the work of cleansing the area of it's defilement, using Mage Hand and Prestidigitation to remove things and then cleanse the waters where she could. "Do you think the Manor is somewhere nearby? Or did he lead us to this little shortcut to help throw us off the scent."

I ran up beside him so he could only withdraw the first square. I will get an AoO on him. I did this on purpose so he couldn't getaway. I would like to Trip him. This may require a retcon. Let me know if I should roll Wolf.

As the vampire tries to move away Johanna does her best to knock him to the ground.

After he is tripped by Johanna he looks up at you in pure horror! He also yells, "Nooo!"
The vampire does indeed stand up but then slowly looks over his shoulder to the charging heroes! But now the pain train is coming to town! Smash him up boys!

Ingvarr moves up quickly, taking in the situation, just in time to see the vampire turn to gas and move towards the mirror! Recognizing it for what it is, he shouts, ”The mirror is a teleportation effect! Don’t let him get to it!”

If he has an action left, Ingvarr will shoot the mirror if he can. We can use his earlier roll he had to abandon or I can reroll for him if he has the action available.

Johanna double moves into the room. She watches as Sable goes through the mirror.

"Olivia can find those of us that have accepted her gift. I Sable doesn't reappear someone go through to help him. Cut the vampire off from using it. I will stay here to keep this creature from harming the group."

The vampire has been 'slain'/turned into gas, and it moved 20 feet towards the mirror. Either way, if the mirror gets hit or Sable goes through the mirror on his own.

The gas puts itself out of its own misery and enters the fountain. Soon you see magical items in the bottom of the fountain.

Yup, that's right you just killed a vampire, CR 9. I am going to have to throw stronger things at you guys! Well maybe we do some exploring and you just wipe the baddies away as you do it!

Hours later the mist still has not been seen as you purify the alters. You see that the mirror reforms itself and glows with magic. But there is another room that you could explore...

Ingvarr will drink some of the water once it has been blessed to see what kind of powers it might refresh for him. He also suggests, ”Should we explore the rest of this temple first to make sure no threats remain here?”

Did Sable go through? I'm confused if that still happened or not.

Rai has not posted so we will state that Sable went through and due to some ranged fire the mirror is broken as well.

Ingvarr drinks the water and it restores 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 spell levels, if you dont have spell levels it restores that many rounds of a SPECIAL you possess. For example raging song.

As the alter is restored you see that the mirror reforms and has a glow to it.

Seraphina and Hundor would gain a +3 bonus on the spell levels returned to you.

Also after Hundor drinks from the fountain a book rises from the water.

Seraphina:
Since no one else is looking you collect the magic items you see, Hundor would help but he can't reach.

He follows suit with Seraphina in cleaning the alters and then follows Ingvarr in drinking from it. As the book rises from the water he practically screams in delight seeing the book, "THANK YOU NETHYS!"

She shows up as the group is halfway done cleaning up the alter and helps out, as Koldur brings it up she offers, "Yes, if you are in a rush I could move us to my domain before having Sable open his door. Koldur nods as Olivra's words makes the most sense and his friend didnt' seem to be in immediate danger. He helps the rest in what matters he could not understanding the rituals or spells needed but he did have his physical strength.

Hundor's Delight though caught his attention as he sees him taking a flying wet book out from the fountain to study.

Seraphina gathers up the items from the pool and uses prestidigitation to clean and dry them before packing them away. "These must be the vampire's personal effects. They should come in handy."

After making sure the water is quite clean, Sera says a prayer and drinks from it as well. "Nethys, may your Arcane might flow here again and suffuse us with your power!"
We were supposed to cast a spell into the altar to completely re-sanctify it, correct? Sera will cast bull's strength, a second level spell.

She then joined the others in fully exploring the temple before they journeyed on from this place.

Sorry Ingvarr, a lot is happening here. I saw that as words not actions. Lets get you informed.

Ingvarr moves off after drinking from the fountain down the hallway. He finds another room. It looks like another fountain and you believe it has to be an illusion. You see a large gargoyle carved from the wall and from its mouth a spout of water, coins, and gems comes forth filling a fountain. The base of the fountain is covered in coins and gems which move similar to water. There only seems to be a few inches of water above the literal treasure trove.

You could go further back. To explore more of the cave.

Yes Seraphina I was waiting for someone to do it. You gain a +2 to the ability score that you cast with. Make sure to mark it next to your ability score as Blessing of Nythes.

Ingvarr smiles as he sees one of the more powerful users of magic make the offering to Nethys. Once he is in the new room, he will cast Detect Magic and investigate the illusion thoroughly.

You can't believe it... its not an illusion! Literally some magic is magic is taking the coins and water from the base of the fountain and making them shower upon the pool. You can see maybe hundreds of spells laced into the fountain and gargoyle. You realize that some of the more powerful ones are only affecting the gargoyle... you feel like you shouldn't be in the room alone with it...

After checking the room out magically (from the doorway) for a few long moments, Ingvarr heads back to the rest of the group and invites them to join him in dealing with the Gargoyle, saying "There is lots of magic going on here--it could take hours to unravel it all, but I get the sense the Gargoyle could be dangerous."
