I'm pretty sure Strumulme is the Capitol. Not sure if the party settled on a name for the Barony/Nation yet

Albert Malek Garess |

I'm fine with the recruitment post. We should decide what we would like to request from Restov.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

I am all for taking advantage of the opportunity to resupply; but have several questions…
For cash (coins and gems) it looks like we have 5500-6000gp party treasure, so roughly 1500 each, not counting the “loot” - some of which is too large for us to actually move with us now and more importantly, some of it fulfills side quests…
Are the values the sale value, which is usually 50%(I think, if has been awhile), or what we actually get?
What are we doing about the side quest items?
What about the really heavy, bulky stuff?
Why hasn’t someone claimed the wand of CLW on the loot sheet? They are really useful and a PC or even NPC should be carrying it.
Sturmulme is the capital, the “kingdom” name was never resolved.
I have an unfilled feat and was considering taking a crafting feat, thoughts from the party and any DM input?

Saoirse Oparaeal |

I mean Kingmaker is probably the best AP for crafting feats since there are long stretches of downtime as it progresses.
It looks like what's there is actual value as opposed to resale value. The quest items should be delivered to whoever they need to be (some of the quests might have been picked up by people who aren't here anymore so may require a bit of IC interaction). Anything we can't carry right now will have to stay where it is until we can get hold of a bag of holding or some other means of carrying massive or very heavy objects.
I guess I'll carry the wand since it looks like I'm the only one with cure spells on my spell list.

Saoirse Oparaeal |

Crafting wands is good for spells we constantly use.
Scribe Scroll is great for useful spells that no one ever bothers to prepare but are great to have when it counts.

Regarding the crafting… I was looking more at options… Wondous items is the obvious; but not knowing how much money we will get, I was considering wand…
I made an attempt to tease the info, but since you're discussing taking feats, I will share more directly that the Old Beldame can Craft Wondrous Items as well as Constructs. But obviously, she won't do it for it for cost. Just noting it for options.
Gems can essentially retail for full value. Basically they serve as a more compact form of currency so it's really more of a conversion rate than something you sell.
Apologies for some lag time on my end. I'm adapting to a new work schedule with less free time so we may stutter along for a bit until I settle in properly.

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

I am a firm believer in playing your character as you see fit. I know this does not help you Rillka but I think you should pick the feat that is going to best fit with your character.
However, I think the Wonderous items is more versatile than wands.

Saoirse Oparaeal |

Though if we already have an option for Woundrous Items, more options are always better.
For the larger items we can't currently transport we need either a Bag of Holding type 3 (or 2 type 2's), or a few scrolls of shrink item

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

I got an idea.
Since we are looking to add some new players to the game, we can use some of the NPC to come out to the Elven Tower. They can bring supplies to fix it up and to remove the items we cannot carry. They can also secure the tower for future use.
We send to Restov to acquire items people would like to have.
We then do a kingdom turn and then add new players. We then can move forward to the exploring part.
Thoughs?

Saoirse Oparaeal |

Makes sense, and avoids the stall that can happen while recruiting.

bluedove |

We have some applicants! Have a look and PM me your thoughts if you would like to weigh in on selection.
Shall I assume you stick to explored hexes on your return to Sturmulme?

Saoirse Oparaeal |

Yeah that would make sense!

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

I have gone over the submissions, and I have narrowed it down to two.
Malylev, the Little Lion
Hrafen Vormenghast
There are some that I feel will work as well but these two were the top of my list.

Albert Malek Garess |

I agree with Rillka about Veniir, and we don't need to double up on sorcerers, as we're pretty well covered on arcane casting.
I'm open to other candidates who bring either ranged coverage or area control.

Saoirse Oparaeal |

I agree on the not needing another arcane caster, especially not another halfling. As far as someone who brings ranged to the table, Veronica seems built for ranged combat, provides the healing we need as a cleric, and fulfills the divine follower of Erastil requirement our GM wants.

Saoirse Oparaeal |

Yeah, very reliable, in-it-for-the-long-haul player. (we've both been in games that have been going for years and they've actually completed a couple AP's all the way through on these boards)

Saoirse Oparaeal |

After a second read-through of the characters, I'd be on board with Veniir as the trapfinder as well.

Albert Malek Garess |

Given Saoirse's informed recommendation, I'm on board with Veronica as the second pick.

I was leaning toward Veniir myself but also hoping for a full cleric. The skinwalker race gives me pause, but playing with friends is always worthwhile when possible and Veronica's player checks several other boxes I look for, so I will invite them over. ^_^

Greetings, folks! Thank you very much for the invitation. I'll do my best to fit in here and help to provide a good group dynamic.
As noted during recruitment, Veronica is a full cleric of Erastil. She is feat-starved (doing archery with a cleric is feat intensive) and provides both some support archery and the full panoply of clerical buffs and healing spells. I enjoy playing support characters, so I am happy to spend my time healing and making the rest of the party better at what they do!
Veronica has a tiny trickle of skills in diplomacy and survival, but 2 ranks/level is not a lot, so she's not very good at them. Her strong skills are Heal and Knowledge (religion).
@DM, as you mentioned that the skinwalker race gives you pause, please let me know of any reservations that you have. If necessary I can rebuild the character as a human. I don't want to step on any toes.

Mostly just that I am unfamiliar and would consider it a monster race, but looking the chassis over, it doesn't seem to be overpowered. Rather comparable to a tiefling, which I would allow, so no need to adjust.
Should be an interesting reveal if/when you do shapechange.

Veronica Ferra |

Thank you, Albert and Rillka!
The result is that shifters and skinwalkers are basically human but they look a little bit "beasty," just a tiny bit, until they freak out and shift, at which point they look like a character from Teen Wolf. Not a full-on werebeast, but a humanoid with some pretty animalistic characteristics. Then they shift back and look more or less normal again.
I felt that the skinwalker works really well in this context for several reasons, both systemic and narrative:
• Witchwolves have +2 Wisdom while shifted, so all of Veronica's battle magic is harder to resist while she's in shifted form.
• +2 to all saves while shifted! That's amazing!
• Since Veronica is a priestess of Erastil, there's great narrative tension with the idea of the wolf, the predator on the margins, who has become the hound, the tamed guardian. The beast made into the friend of humanity.
• Also, since Veronica has the Animal domain, she has a wolf companion, which ties into the aforementioned theme.
• And of course there's the story beats with Jhod Kavken.
Anyway, that's my rant!

BTW, I forgot that you allowed to roll for HP and keep the rolls if it's larger than 1/2 max + 1.
Level 2: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Level 3: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Level 4: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Level 5: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Saoirse Oparaeal |

Welcome to the party!

bluedove |

I haven't read much I'm a bit lost as to where this is. I assume it's an inn somewhere in the Stolen Lands, and this town is not a major settlement?
Correct, as is what Veronica posted ooc in Gameplay. This is the newly established Barony of ______. (TBD, from what I gather.) You are at the Inn in the capital, which has been here about a year so far and still in development.
You have likely answered a summons put forth by Jhod Kavken, the current High Priest of the Barony, who I believe resides in and heads the smaller community of Elch which was established on the site of the Temple to Erastil that was found abandoned, cursed, and corrupted.
Veronica, I didn't find any mention of an 'automatic interaction' but I know the Father's history. I am running from OG Kingmaker, not the anniversary edition, if that factors.
Either of you can feel free to have an established relationship with Father Kavken (and/or each other) and thus have a letter of introduction from him that you can give to the party, or you can simply have come here on your own for your own reasons, as you prefer.

Veronica Ferra |

In my recontextualization, the traveler was Veronica's second cousin. So, Jhod was wrong about him being a werewolf, but maybe close... and there is, of course, tension due to the event. Jhod may not know who Veronica is, but she certainly knows about him. (Fortunately for Jhod, Veronica is a basically decent person and inclined to try to find a way to bury the hatchet in spite of this event... but he won't know that at first. It might seem like his past is coming back to haunt him!)
You can read a little about this summary on the Pathfinder wiki, here.

Rillka, you made a good speech but no check. Just to be clear, this scene introduces a Kingdom event and how you handle it affects your Kingdom's stat modifiers.

Veronica Ferra |

Veronica Ferra |

Since it apparently went over like a lead balloon IC, I want to clarify that Veronica was not accusing this town of being slavers, she was pointing out that it's obvious to anyone with at least one eye that this is not a town of slavers and therefore the blustering man's exaggerated claims about dissidents being shackled and sold off are hyperbolic at best.

Saoirse Oparaeal |

That's how I read it.
IC Rillka's like that with almost everybody. You'll get used to it. lol

Veronica Ferra |

*whew*
I just wanted to make sure I didn't make a bad open! Rillka kinda took it poorly :D

Rillka Cloudhopper |

I am so sorry I came across like that!!!!
Rillka is sarcastic (as Saoirse said) and was trying to agree with you; I really meant it as an opening for your character to engage with Rillka - I am truly sorry it came across differently - that was not my intention!!

Veronica Ferra |

No problem! Glad we cleared things up! Just wanted to make sure we were all good!
