Thawm Uhturj |

I'll just have to spend my school slots on healing spells and Mount, then :p

Varilien Dorianathi |

That reminds me, anyone else planning on using the Technologist feat? 'cause I mostly wanted it to work with Knowledge (Engineering), with maybe a rank or a few ranks in Craft (Mechanical), but I could get Disable Device too, if we don't have anyone...
Well, I have the Technologist feat/Craft(mech)/Know(eng) thing going on, but both as a player and character I'd welcome a second person with that strength. It might even open the door to taking on long-term lofty crafting projects or other outside-the-box things.

Thawm Uhturj |

I'll just leave craft at 1 rank to chip in with aid another xD
I feel like we'll want as many rolls as possible for engineering, though. I think I'll spam that right along with you :3
Also, disable device? Someone with Dex>10? xD

Basil NaN |

I'll have Technologist at Level 5. Additionally, my archetype provides a half level bonus to Knowledge(Engineering).
To go along with that, I have Craft(Mechanical) and Craft(Alchemy).
I also have Numerian Archeologist Campaign Trait for Double-Rolls on glitches, and will eventually pick up Scavengers Luck.
That said, I think it's a main draw of the campaign to interact with fancy alien/strange things of all sorts, so I suppose everybody wants in on that a bit :)
And I doubt we'll need much exclusivity on that topic.

DM Nex |

Hey Thawm: Can you go to Roll20 Link and just ping the messages there with your name so I know who to attach your new token with?
Also we should be ready to start again.
Knock has happened. No response. No evil detected (that is that high of a level).

Thawm Uhturj |

Yeah, only classes with the Aura ability (like clerics...and paladins?), undead, and outsiders detect as evil when they're small and weak :s
Hey Thawm: Can you go to Roll20 Link and just ping the messages there with your name
done ^^

Varilien Dorianathi |

Yeah - whoops, don't often play one of the Detecting classes. At least now we know there's not a mob of succubi in there!

Basil NaN |

A warehouse full of succubi?
I...I believe I read enough Dōjinshi to know where THAT is going...
I was unaware it was that kind of game.
But Basil is eager to learn.

Keldor Whisthawk |

You haven't run or played through the Rise of the Rune Lords game have you Basil? There's a section...Succubus with a wicked Prestige class! Then there's her three Alu-demon daughters in the other room...
I would now not be shocked by ANYTHING a Pathfinder AP throws at us.

Thawm Uhturj |

Just to be clear, Thawm is just there somehow and we'll ignore the transition for now?
Maybe we can say a wizard did it ;p

More like, you came to town to see your wizard friend. Turns out he was rescued already. Now you are joining up because he has asked you to/you want to learn more about what this group is doing.
May be a weak reason, but you can RP the specifics later.
Yeah, something something, fixing the torch and fighting the technic league xD
In fact, since Varilien Dorianathi also hates the league, maybe we met on the way there and decided to pick a fight with it together xD

Basil NaN |

Nope, I basically only run homebrew, and AM playing in a Rise of the Runelords play-by-post. You should know, Karmid :)
Never been through the AP before though, no. Seems interesting though :)
I did play a masochistic(she did not have a good childhood) Tiefling Sorceress/Thrall of Graz'zt(hoping the dark prince would take notice and choose her to carry a child for him) in an evil 3.5 campaign though - so...just saying...

Thawm Uhturj |

so... demon worshiping and carnal relations belong on the same list?
Still not sure about lollygagging :P
I haven't played through this AP either xD

Basil NaN |

Well, it's what you do when you wait for the transition from one to the other :)
I am glad I got the trope right, though ^_^ the fact it is not actually meant ironic for Basil makes it all the better.

Keldor Whisthawk |

Yeah I realize you were in my Rise game too, but I was unsure of your history with the game. Don't worry, we're talking at LEAST 2 AP books away I think. Although we are just now finishing the first book pretty soon. I did get permission to play with for-knowledge too. GM Shadow has always been easy on that as long as I don't play using any of that info. He's surprised me several times too. Rise has many nasty parts...so I hope you have a strong stomach.
=/

Thawm Uhturj |

@Keldor: Ya know, I just realized that I should probably prep some summon spells anyway, you'll usually be Iron Man (played by Keldor instead of that actor guy) and unable to summon buddies anyway, right? xD

Keldor Whisthawk |

Correct.
I do have the ability to summon when he is NOT around, and I don't have the ability to summon him on demand yet (I still must do a 5 Minute Ritual)...
But I did take a feat allowing me expanded access to my summoning abilities, so I'm a bit more effective outside of him.
With that being said.
Yeah...he's basically Iron Man (my version of him).
Feel free to read his character background and similar.
=)

Varilien Dorianathi |

Is that 6 damage from the thug's fists nonlethal or lethal?

Thawm Uhturj |

Just noticed I had forgotten to add the bonded item to my spreadsheet/list-of-spell-like-abilities.
Fixed ^_^

Thawm Uhturj |

in case anyone of medium size is interested in enlargement (and appreciates the convenience of not looking it up themselves):
Weapon rules, including the damage dice used for large weapons

Dirissa Dhib |

thanks, and, yeah, your math looks good, although I do have 1 benefit where my CHA counts instead of Dex for AC, so dex penalties don't hurt me so much

Thawm Uhturj |

instead of? then only -1 Size to AC! :D
/me goes and does research about Oracles...

Basil NaN |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Nature's Whispers(Nature)
Prophetic Armor(Lunar)
Sidestep Secret(Lore)
are the ones you want to cover in your research ;)

Thawm Uhturj |

So Cha to AC & CMD or Cha to AC & Reflex.
[shenanigans]
Time to go Oracle/Paladin to get Cha to AC & CMD & saves, lol
[/shenanigans]

Dirissa Dhib |

yeah, I'm a fan of both the oradin and bardacle combos. Also, @GM: somehow I misread that when I took the revelation and I thought it was AC, CMD, & Reflex. Oops. Have reduced my reflex save accordingly.
and a 7+ foot Dirissa is awesome

Thawm Uhturj |

Also twice as wide for twice the curves ;p
Also I like those names, especially bardicle. It sounds like it belongs in Skull & Shackles xD

Thawm Uhturj |

@DM Nex: I'll just wait for any info I can get about Garmen from my practically harmless Touch Attack, not to mention his reaction to the (probably obvious) magical probing xD
...and a 7+ foot Dirissa is awesome
oh hell yes!
I sense a dearth of buffs in this party xD

Thawm Uhturj |

@DM Nex: I keep forgetting to ask about the 4 potions of CLW: we get to take 3 potions and one empty bottle, yeah?

Thawm Uhturj |

It's funny you mention strip, I was considering how greedy Thawm would get after looking at him with Detect Magic...

Gauntlet the Eidolon |

We won't strip him/them naked, but Keldor will make sure to remove all weapons and useful equipment that was used to attack us as punishment. We will offer it all to Torch authorities, and let them decide what to do with it all.

Basil NaN |

Hej, I also drank from the Fluids :P
Sometimes, you just have to empty your drink, say "screw this" and jump into action.
Plus Basil is a logical choice for opening it. Current characters is a mess but I think she is tied for most HP with Dirissa, got decent Reflex and Fortitude, self-healing nanites, immunity to fear and ok Con.
If that thing is as lethal as you fear...I think some of the bandits would have been blown up or grilled if it was. So yeah, lets take a look at whats in box #1
Still got a round to get clear, Keldor :)

Gauntlet the Eidolon |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I don't care, Keldor does however.
Opening it is fine by me and really doesn't bother me. We need to get rid of the device causing the headaches.
Keldor is really cautious and careful. An engineer at heart.
=)

Thawm will wrinkle her nose in disgust (but not show other signs of protest) at the suggestion to not keep the four remaining magical potions xD

Basil NaN |

Tsk.
I am an engineer IRL...caution is...good. But risk is where the fun happens.
You want to go discover new grounds? Learn to fly? Blow stuff up? Force nature to do your will? Then you need to go try something that may end in failure, and that failure may just blow up in your face. Be a scientist, too :)

Gauntlet the Eidolon |

'AT HEART' is the key here. Keldor is still trying to decide what he is. Warrior, Summonner, Amateur Technologist? In the end he is LG and that colors everything he does.

Basil NaN |

OOC: If it is 'just in range' I suspect whatever it is connected to is stationary.
If it was connected to a moving target like that other android, then it would make sense to place the device closer to the area, lest she loses connection all the time by moving a couple feet here or there. Heck, have them sit it as close to the complex as possible, dig a hole, place it in there, then build a campfire on top to guard it.
No, I am pretty certain the tether point is stationary - in which case I'd like to find out more before shutting it off for good.
Assuming we'll head to Scrapwall in the AP, we may regret having turned it off without further research - having a theoretical option to move it back into range of the connection point would be welcome.
(Plus, I guess there is a similar device at the end of that connection. So one 'close' interaction point with limited range, and a second connection point far away. Chances are we could place this thing right next to whatever it connects to, and that would stop the headaches as well if it adjusts the omnidirectional 'close-range' broadcast and only increases the directional one towards Scrapwall to penetrate through the obstacles.)

Thawm Uhturj |

quick update: I have to travel for the next few days (3/11-3/15) and I'm unsure of internet access. I'll do my best to check in when I can. Please bot me as needed.
