I never notated it before. I would say...Keldor is about 5'10" or so and Gauntlet is probably about 6'4"?

I don't believe I can be enlarged while wearing Gauntlet. I count as BOTH and Outsider and a Person...to my detriment. Outsiders cannot be Enlarged. It's too broken in my opinion otherwise. I want to play a synthesist within the rules, not break them just to see if I can do it. That's why people HATE synthesists. That ability for them to bend or break the rules is very tempting and a lot of work for GMs. I can learn enlarge myself in a few levels...I'm willing to wait for that.


If the rules say "the two are now one creature" I would assume its possible, but if you would rather not, that is fine with me.

...buuuut due to Share Spells, you might want Enlarge Person for yourself anyway. It's just a full round action instead of a standard :3

Also, if you really want to feel a downside of having an eidolon (fused or otherwise), let your eidolon take ability damage before we get access to Lesser Restoration Dx

Back on the topic of getting enough reach to slap the airborne monster: Would the Mount spell's mount help at all ? :3

Let's just focus on killing the Ratlings and then we can concentrate on the Gargoyle. The most he can do each round is a single swipe each round with a flyby attack unless he lands. He doesn't have reach. He has to move into range to hit us. Once the others are dead, we can hold our actions until he approaches and attack him then. Gauntlet's fists are magical. I'm pretty sure I can hurt him once I can reach him. Otherwise we can acid splash him to death if he just avoids us, but I can't hold my action or cast spells while being shot with arrows...

Also, as for outsiders cannot be enlarged: not quite correct.

The spell targets a humanoid.
The spell enlarges a humanoid.
It does not work on outsiders because they are neither a valid target for the spell, nor included in the effect.
But they are not specifically excluded - the same reason a Sylvan Sorcerer can cast Enlarge Person on their Animal Companion.
As for the effect: There's the precedent of Dire Collar, for example.

You are a valid target since you are both. It's not you are one of the types, and the more detrimental - you are both.

Say an enemy casts Dominate Person on you. You are affected, since it's more detrimental to be humanoid in that case. An allied wizard, not being able to dispel it, then tries to Dominate you in turn, to have you fight on the side of your friends and allies again. Clearly something that Keldor would want to happen, rather than watch helplessly as he slaughters his friends.
Would the spell then fizzle, because you are not a valid target, being considered an outsider rather than a humanoid?
How, then, would the first spell take hold?
Nope, the second spell works just fine, because you are ALWAYS both types. For the same reason, Enlarge also works out...as for the Gargoyle: Problem being that we only have a limited amount of magical damage output. It may be a logistical challenge to ensure no fly-by targets are uncovered AND we output damage...it may then flee, and return with the next encounter, wielding a reach weapon. Just hulk out if it's offered and smash the guy now :)

(And yeah, it may be among the reasons Synthesist is banned, but unless you turn into a Shoggoth I doubt we're breaking stuff here. A raging two-hander barbarian would be more dangerous than you right now and can be enlarged just fine.

You know, there's one other thing we're not considering for this encounter: we have a few consumables :3

We let Basil have the 4 grenades, right? that's what I wrote down and I'm sticking to it until told otherwise...
The soft grenade does 5d6, even if it is nonlethal, and we can probably cook the rat-folk with its 20' radius spread if their hp isn't very high :3

Finally got around to updating my website with info for this game.

Small mini-page with info

It includes pictures of important NPCs as well as any creatures that have good art. I will do my best keeping this updated, but I am not perfect.

I also included a list of all of the items for sale in town.

Still trying to figure out a good way to use this to track item drops or something. Working on something fun too.

Also, regarding the afore-mentioned grenades, yeah, I failed to note them, I guess? But I did take them.

Point with them is: They take one round to explode. So I can throw them, then they can get to safety, THEN they explode.

I would prefer using them in a surprise round where there's a chance to win Init and instantly blow them up.
Or to use them against someone impaired by a spell. Or in enclosed environments. Or high enough level that they lose the full attack by moving to safety.

Considering their cost, it seems wasteful to cause them to move+attack out of the blast area, even if one or 2 may end up provoking an AoO - and at the same time, people risk entering the blast area if not meta-ing, since we know little about these things as of yet.

Ah, I'm up and all out of sensible options.

I have 2 questions...

1.: could we include the loot-sheet either in game information tab, the headerline, or the game info-page?

2.: older loot lists a wand of magic missile(CL 3) for Harg. And a +1 light hammer for Varilien.

The former may be relevantly useful for casters.
The latter a workable option vs. non-magical-damage-resistant iron-clad gargoyles.

Just wondering if we could 'retrieve' loot from those who left.
That said, half my ammunition is gone again already, so I'd rather conserve it than waste it on the individual ratfolks...and I cannot damage the gargoyle.

Gauntlet can possibly hurt the creature if he can reach him, but I was a little afraid of being flanked by the Ratlings while doing it, and those bits of metal attached to him worry me that his DR may be two-fold. Magic / adamantine. Or it could just be considered extra armor(hopefully). Keep the Ratlings off of me and I will try and get to the Gargoyle on my next action...


Added Loot sheet to the top. It was what Harg used for awhile, but since I now GM I haven't been keeping it up as much. Feel free to use it, or convert it. If you end up making your own sheet I can update the link.

Honeslty lost track of loot stuff, but the want is fair game for everyone, and Varilien's light hammer is fair game here too.

Feel free to retrieve anything. The Harg character has been updated for the new game he is in, so his loot list is not accurate. But any old general loot list is fair game.

Thawm will mostly be giving out +2 sacred bonuses for now, so it'll be easy xD

So it looks like Basil has been mia for awhile. All of her Aliases end their posting around the same time (June 12th). Last she said she was getting sick. Just hope she is ok.

We can continue for a bit more before doing anything. She has botting instructions I think and I don't think she would mind.

That's sad, but understood. We can definitely bot her for awhile as needed. I remember she said she was running low on (expensive) ammo, so she was hesitant to keep firing her guns unless there was an enemy she could hurt with them.

For the most part I would say we haven't divided up the loot much because we never know what half of it is until later then we've forgotten what most of it was in the first place.

So far all I've taken is the Neraplast armor so far. And I would like the Tape and Activator. Also might take a spare 'charged' battery for my Armor if possible.

NOTE: I think the 2x items are nanites for the nanite gun?

I think Dirissa or Basil should take the Veemod Goggles and/or the Proximity Helmet (one for each?...they can decide who gets what).

All the wizardry stuff is your Thawm as far as I'm concerned. But if there is something I can use with my very-limited Summoner spell list, let me know?

The silver-disks just need to be divided up once we have an actual total.

I have no idea who has the Ring oF Protection or the Amulet of Natural Armor.

For now the 'Cards' and Radiation detector should be group treasure. We share them, but somebody needs to carry them. Al medical items (Medlance and Nanite gun) should also be 'Group' Treasure in my opinion too. To be used as needed.

What are your guys opinions?

Speaking of messy, I finally figured out that timeworn means no recharging ever, and rolling after identification.
Should I just roll now for the timeworn items in the above mentioned post? (in the same order as the post, because science)

Also I forgot to ask about the medlance from the same spot. Does it just have all 10 still since it wasn't called timeworn in the initial post? xD

Also, I moved some stuff around the loot sheet. On page 2 there are items listed under each name. If no one objects for a couple days or so, then please make sure you've got those items on your character sheet and then remove them from our under your name so that I don't feel the need to worry about those items anymore :3

(I'm 90% sure we've already agreed to all those allocations except for the 3 silver disks Thawm would need to copy the scrolls into her spellbook. And a couple things Thawm might want to carry around that I doubt anyone else wants like the Masterwork Dagger, Masterwork Thief's tools, and Everburning Torch.)

I vote Keldor and Dirissa get all the best permanant AC boosting things and Basil and Thawm get second hand goodies. Maybe in those orders.

Also, in case it wasn't obvious in the gameplay thread, Thawm needs her beauty sleep ;p

Can anyone give Basil or Keldor a light source so that they can see where they're running? I think light as bright as a torch would work... right?
@GM Nex: It'd be +1 light level 40' away and a horse's speed is only 35' under medium encumbrance.
@Basil and/or Keldor: do both of you guys weigh more than 230 lbs with equipment? 'cause if one of you can weigh less than a light horse's light encumbrance, you could move 250' per round for 17 rounds on horseback without the horse even making a con check >:3
...while making ranged attacks, now that I think about it. Basil? Are you too fat? ;p
Or can you got 4/5ths of a mile in 108 seconds on horseback? >:D
@GM Nex again: Running 175' per round isn't that f ast when the horse can see 80' away, right?

...If the rider has low-light vision too (and a torch equivalent), they'd see 80' too :3

I found it too late to avoid a double post (shouldn't have cleaned up before finding it maybe...), but now I'm curious if Basil is above average or below average weight for an android :3

Androids are roughly the same size as humans; on average, they are 6 feet tall and weigh 200 pounds.


To run it would all need to be a straight line, don't forget. This is a semi busy town, with lots of buildings.

She's also described as 'slender' in her description.

Furthermore, as mentioned, she does not depend on light, but can make use of low-light. The point is: While using light slightly expands the visible radius, staying in the dark does not give away her position, so often, using Darkvision may be preferable.
Probably not for the horse though.
