Ah, you'll want a second one in no time.
Source: Second baby incoming in January. Also, congrats.

Keldor Whisthawk |

Yes, keep breeding so I won't have to.
Well...I have 2 of my own, so good luck there Harg. (One is 27 and the other is 3.)
So...lots of arcanist/melee people. Not much in the way of healing however so far. Looks like we will need to invest in some wands of cure light wounds and the Use Magic Device skill!
=)

Basil NaN |

I could look into healing bullets.
If I find volunteers for testing.
There would likely be a lot of research involved until the pro's outweigh the cons, but there's precedents.
Now that's a sling bullet and the contents are used to cause further harm.
But certainly, a blunderbuss slug could be used to deliver a potion directly into the bloodstream if I get the powder amount right and manage to keep the injector needle aligned during flight.
Wands may be cheaper, but getting shot to full health is much cooler. Especially if I get to use weapon spread to target all of you.

Dirissa Dhib |

I'll be able to heal at 3rd level, too, or I could make it 2nd lvl if we're really hurting for healing

Harg |

*Kell wrote:Yes, keep breeding so I won't have to.Well...I have 2 of my own, so good luck there Harg. (One is 27 and the other is 3.)
Man, that is a spread!
I could get infernal Healing, to help out a bit here and there. I have never used it in any game. I am not sure if Harg cares about the Evil aspect of it, and since we do not have any super good (read paladins) PCs, it might be ok. Before I waste a spell slot on it, do we as players have issues with it?

Keldor Whisthawk |

Ummm...NOTE: Keldor is not a Paladin, but he IS Lawful Good.
So...probably not a great idea on the Infernal Healing...so to speak.

Basil NaN |

Why so, Keldor?
It uses the Blood of a Devil to do good and heal you.
For the inferior Celestial Healing, you have to bleed good outsiders.
Either way, it IS an evil spell, but I don't think we should limit our options more than needed...those classes who demand so make it abundantly clear.
Then again, as an Android, I am pragmatic about these things.

Keldor Whisthawk |

Keldor can be pragmatic. He does lean towards the Lawful rather than the Good, so it would be a situational thing for him really. If you used it sparingly and only when necessary, he probably wouldn't mind too much, but using it all the time, or on himself? That's probably going to bother him.
Naively, he looks at himself as a 'hero-in-training' and using evil magic AND demon/devil blood will just rub him the wrong way eventually. To him, life is often more black and white than shades of grey.
I'm just warning you all now: He won't fight you over it as a rule like a Paladin might, but he might start to think of your characters differently if you abuse such 'evil' help, even for the benefit of good.
It's your call.
=)
NOTE: I chose him to be this alignment on purpose for this adventure, because I suspect that temptation will be around every corner for him. He's fascinated with Numerian technology and smart enough to learn to use it well if he wants to. This side of him is at war with the way he was raised which was inside a large uncompromising house of law and good. I'm looking forward to see what happens to him as the adventure continues and his personal challenges force him to try and see more of the grays in the world, whether he will like to see it or not.

Harg |

All noted! Harg does not currently have the spell. Mostly I was trying to feel out the players to see where we stand. Harg doesn't have any major issues taking advantage of some healing. The evil aspect of it, probably does not even register to him at all. If anything, if someone points it out the that it's an evil spell he might have to deal with his opinion then.
I will cross this bridge when we level. I am all for in character discussions of evil.
I think of Harg as oblivious good. Growing up around full evil orcs, but always tends to lean towards good, has made him unaware what is required of a "good" person.
Looking forward to depth in character :-)

Basil NaN |

Well, it's mostly evil because it radiates evil.
But if we're honest: Good people who use that spell will have harvested that devil blood in a non-nice-way. So actually the spell is good, in that it encourages people to slay devils. And it heals wounds. Win/Win.
That said, Basil won't really care about what Keldor thinks about her...because she won't care about what anybody thinks about her, really.
^_^
(Don't worry, she IS trying to blend in and mimic behaviour patterns...but if you try and tell her something is wrong on the basis that it "feels wrong" rather than facts, she'll dismiss it quickly-)

Basil NaN |

Which is a great neutral variant for it, but needs research to truly work that way...because if you just "rename" the spell, the recipient would still feel the "evil" as per spell description...and might get even more worked up over it. Just saying.

Basil NaN |

Aye, they are, but it is not as inherently in their nature as it is for evil outsiders such as devils.
It stands to reason you could extract the regenerative nature of trolls into a newly created healing spell mimicking infernal healing, by drawing on their blood, but without "pushing" whatever alignment they had onto the spell recipient.
Because they are evil by their nature/society/choice, not because they are an incarnation of an alignment given form.
That is to say, the troll may be evil, but their blood(for example) is not, by default, "distilled evil"...just blood, and neutral. Thats what I meant.

Gauntlet the Eidolon |

...Lawyered!
I hate to say it, but I would agree with Basil here.
Keldor is Lawful Good...not stupid. Good idea otherwise!

Keldor Whisthawk |

Does anybody want to keep track of our party treasure? (Such as the cards and disks we just got?)
I have a spoiler I can put them under in my Keldor Avatar page until we get a chance to divvy then up later, but I didn't want to assume anything here.

Harg |

I am not sure if Harg is up for 'in character' tracking, just yet. I know he would be willing to, and has the strength to hold a decent amount of items. Not sure if he would be trusted yet, but the party.
I tend to love tracking things like this. In normal games i track in a google document, but if anyone else wanted to totally go for it! If Keldor's page would work, I am ok with that too. Whatever is best for the group.
I was thinking the same thing. Don't want to lose track of those silver disks.. Those add up!
Side note: Wife has entered labor. She is resting, which is why I am posting. I may have plenty of time to check and respond on my phone, or I may not. If I am missing for a bit, its because of baby human. Thanks for understanding.

Basil NaN |

You had me at 'I love tracking things like this'.
You have the job.
(In my experience, most people(me included) are not very...uhm...lets call it motivated/good at doing this task, seeing it as a chore of sorts. Unless someone else speaks up, I'll default to giving the job to the person who actually enjoys it! :)
@Side note: Do enjoy. I remember how awesome it was.
Also, don't worry about going missing for a week. Best of luck to her for an easy delivery without complications.

Keldor Whisthawk |

Agreed!
Google away. I'm already tracking stuff like this on 5 other PBP games!
=)

Harg |

Sounds good! I will gladly track. I will make a small note of what we have so far (since I joined) and make a word doc. Any other items that should be added?
Side note: Wife is resting. Today is the day, it looks like! Now I just wish I could keep my own anxieties in check.

Dirissa Dhib |

thank heavens there's a tracker! I agree, It is so nice to have someone who enjoys it!
Best of luck with the baby-ing!

DM Default |

Kell, mind posting in the gameplay thread? I don't think I've seen you post yet...

Harg |

I went and created the loot tracker document. I divided it up into different sections:
Party Funds
Unknown Items
Group Items (anyone can pull from it once we decide to put something in there)
Unsorted/Not divvied up yet
Does this seem good to you all?
Here is a view only link for everyone.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Cy85in03sWAwl_9okBozqIwdJNRG8X37FCdOHRE K-iE/edit?usp=sharing

Basil NaN |

Doesn't look good to me if there's no news of your tiny human involved.
Also, I get a file not found error on that link.
Also also, there is a url tag. basically used like this(I used 'ooc tags' to not make the interpreter convert the upper example:
This code: [url=https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Cy85in03sWAwl_9okBozqIwdJNRG8X37FCdOHREK-iE/edit?usp=sharing]Loot Tracker Document[/url]
results in
this output: Loot Tracker Document
(Aye, just a space in that link that prevented it from working-

Tiny human is doing great!! 48 hours of labor, but everyone is healthy and happy.
New baby Catlynn has entered the party. :-)
As for the link. Let me see what I can do to fix it. This should work:
Loot Tracker Document
I will throw it into my Header area so its easy to find. Any suggestions on tweaking it are totally welcome.

Keldor Whisthawk |

Babies are so cool. Baby Poopies not so much.
=)
Good Luck!

Harg |

Seriously!

Basil NaN |

Only lasts a week, tops, usually - and funny you mention it because here, they did tell us about it...i think thrice.
Also, your little finger, oriented with the nail towards the tongue, touching the upper part of inside the mouth, is the best pacifier.
And if baby is supposed to sleep while not physically attached to either of you, make sure to place a worn shirt of mommy in the crib as a bedsheet.
And for the first couple weeks at least, you can 'pup' them in(like a cocoon(just without covering the face, obviously), with arms and legs wrapped up pretty tightly, to calm them down.
Also, careful with protective stuff for the nipples, if baby gets used to protective rubber/latex/plastic coverings(there's variants), it may be hard to get it to drink without those again.

Thanks for all the tips. So far everything is great. She is doing awesome. I am currently on my laptop while she sleeps in a little rocker thing. My wife is taking a much needed nap.
This all just feels, "right". Don't think I could be happier.

Gauntlet the Eidolon |

Wait until the breast milk poopies arrive! I didn't know that babies could produce toxic waste! Its green! And I swear it glows in the dark!
=)

Dirissa Dhib |

cackle! true dat. But at least it doesn't smell as bad as once their on solid food

Basil NaN |

Aye. Solid food is a significant step up on the smell-scala.
@Breast milk poopie coloring: Funny thing, because not all females seem to process certain coloring aspects the same way when generating baby fuel.
Also, happy for you, Harg, it's been 1.5 years for me now, but I'm still just as happy :)
Just wait until your tiny human is capable of walking up to you and performing a hug. *daydreams*
Matter of fact, I am so happy that I made another with an ETA of ~4 months ^_^
I'll let you know if I recommend doing so after the first 2 months of having them simultaneously ;)

Harg |

I can't wait for the hugs, but it also feels like it is going too fast at the same time. Just gotta enjoy every day.
Today was her first real check up. She is 5 days old now. :)

Dirissa Dhib |

Just a heads up. I will be out of town til Monday. I hope to still be able to post, but please bot me if needed. Thanks.

Basil NaN |

@GM: If I am reading the map correctly: What's up with B4?
We went from B3 to B5 to B6 now- If there's a plot reason B4 should be disregarded for now just say so and I'll back off from the door, or if there was a reference to it already I must have missed it.(also on checking again now)
If you simply missed it, I would appreciate knowing there's nothing lurking there before we head on into the next area.

DM Default |

That room essentially leads down to another level, completely out of the scope of the adventure. Maybe a fun dungeon crawl later, but dungeon crawls tend to kill games so maybe not.

Basil NaN |

Thank you. I figured maybe you simply missed the inquiry in-game, and was waiting for some in-game reason to move on - I provided one myself, making the door close and forcing Basil to proceed :)
Easy to undo if you ever want us to go there, thanks for letting me know.

Harg |

Just curious. I have not played really any PbP games. This was my first, but I have joined another since joining this one. With that noted, I was curious in the speed of games. This one seems to go quite a bit between posts. Is it normal?
I might just be excited and want to play a ton. So if this is normal, I can deal with that.
Anyway, just wanting to check in.
