Mirabella looks at the result of her spell and her allies coordinated attacks with a mixture of satisfaction and disgust.

The Host Devil lies twitching, bloodshot eyes still open, in a pool of nasty black ichor that sizzles where it was spewed on the floor. The thick, oily substance reeks of sulfur and rot. She makes a mental note to keep that particular spell in mind for further use.

"Agree, we've done good work here today. Let's bring the keep down and head back. Blocking the land route to Cheliax will be a severe blow to Thrune - one that he is unlikely to ignore. We must be prepared to handle the inevitable retribution when it comes."

With the devil dead you unlock the trunk with the key looted from Trunes body. The trunk contains; Magic ring, 980 gp, 6 potions of cure moderate wounds, 6 potions of cure serious wounds, Small +1 human-bane bastard sword, 6 +3 frost arrows, Lacy white dress, Ivory fan, a leather-bound glass flask with attached silver fox-head stirrup cup (liquid inside), and a solid-gold pillbox carved with a leering harpy face (some powder inside).

In the room where you fought the Erinye the pieces of tattoed skin showcased on the wall is actually scrolls containing the spells: Break enchantment, displacement, major image, mirror image and seeming.

Destruction of Menador keep
The Anvil of Unmaking is a mechanical device in remarkable working condition, complex in engineering but simple to comprehend. Canacha easily understands that rotating the wheel atop its character bell one full rotation causes complex internal mechanisms to release. The chains connected to the three support pillars then snap taut, shattering all three pillars. This in turn sets up a cascading failure throughout the structure that. As internal supports snap and shatter in the slow-moving chain reaction, the entire keep shakes,
shudders, and rumbles. Canacha approximates it takes a full 10 minutes for Menador Keep to collapse, which in theory should give any survivors within plenty of time to flee to safety if they haven't already.

The engineering involved was very precise and very intruiging. She could have sat there for hours studying it.

The travel back to Kintargo goes without any incident. Once inside the city limit you over hear the people on the street talk about the upcoming event The Ruby Masquerade that the Lord-Mayor is putting together. And the talk of the town is that invitations have been sent out not only to the aristocrats and promiment besiness owners, but also to several of the common folk of Kintargo.

While you are resting in the Lucky Bones from your travels, Zorumar suddenly appear before you. "My friends it's good to see you are still with us. I've just come by to give you a small gesture of thanks for you freeing me from my servitude. the janni says pulling out a 5 foot by 5 foot carpet in front of you which remains float in air. "It's just a small thing from my home, but please take this carpet of flying and use it in you fight. I'll take my leave now, I've had my fill of the Material Plane for now." he than disappears just as suddenly as he appeared before you.

"A handsome gift fit the royalty of the genie tribes, Zorumar. Know that you will always find a warm welcome in Kintargo should you decide to revisit the Material Plane." Mirabella says with a warm smile, delighted to see the janni again.

When Logan mentions the masquerade, she replies "I think we would be better off not drawing too much attention to ourselves. The erinyes who escaped from the keep got a good look at all of us, and surely Thrune has agents searching for us."

Looking around their underground headquarter, she pauses and thinks for a moment.

"Our recent travels and adventures have caused us to neglect both our responsibilities as leaders of the rebellion and the security of our base. We must remedy both as soon as possible. I'd like to call a meeting to discuss our future plans. I need to confer with some of our allies, but if we could meet here tomorrow at noon, I'll present my ideas for organizing our forces."

I've been a bit preoccupied lately, but I'll post my thoughts on the Rebellion shortly.

Scarab Sages

Vanderboren manor is located in the eastern section of the merchant district; the seven foot tall stone wall that surrounds the estate is impossible to miss, as is the towering gothic, three story tall manor. Leering gargoyles and capering nymphs festoon the eaves of the manors roof and a host of trees and bushes give the manor a nice buffering calm from the rest of the city around it. The gates are unlocked and no one bothers them until someone knocks on the front door. Several moments later the same halfling that gave you the missive greets you. Kora Whistlegap thanks the Party for arriving more or less on time and askes them to wait in the atrium the Lady Landerboren will be with them shortly.

Jack stands silently, just looking at his friends while nodding in appreciation. "We've earned this brief respite, but let's not let our guard down. We'll be walking into the viper's den if we attend, and perhaps underpowered, if we don't want to go to this masquerade armed to the teeth and dressed as adventurers."

Sorry for the silence. Busy with work and other projects. The double level-up is also messing with my brain some, but I'll keep plugging away at that when I have the time. No excuse for me not posting regularly, at least.
