The group searches around the nursery all through the night but doens't find anything they for certain could call a hideout for the tiny creatures. They did find a small cavelike hole in a green area but it was to small and dark to get a good look inside.

The next night the group with Mic acting lonely victim again spends a few good hours to lure more attackers out, but despite a few drunks they encounter nothing and can now only wait and see if the streets of the nursery is safe to walk again.

You have a few rumors to follow up on from here and some loose ends you can tie up if you like to do those now.

First rumor: “Take care traveling alone at night in Redroof or Temple Hill. The gangs there are getting restless, and they say the Red Jills’ boss has gone some sort of crazy.”

And: “The Thrashing Badger burned down a few nights ago. They’re saying it was another bar fight gone too far, but they’re just a bunch of drunk old professors and barristers… Seems like a lot of places are burning down lately, between this, the Silver Star, and the Victocora estate.”

On the last note a week has soon passed since you started the rebellion so prepare to do the rebellion rolls again and let me know when you are going back to the hideout.

Jack flashes a restored smile and thanks Lena for the healing and restoring his good looks.

When the next night passes without an attack, he states that the threat's likely been eliminated but warns his comrades not to expect much thanks or any reward from the inhabitants of the Devil's Nursery.

"They might give us some begrudging respect or let us pass through their streets unharmed, but that's about it. This city treats them as little more than animals, and they hold a grudge."

Jack will vote to deal with the Red Jills next, as they're in the same general neighborhood (Redroof).

The next night the group with Mic acting lonely victim again spends a few good hours to lure more attackers out, but despite a few drunks they encounter nothing and can now only wait and see if the streets of the nursery is safe to walk again.

At the small cave the two remaining creatures swarm out to attack you but are quickly killed by you all. Further investigating the cave reveals a chamber slowly being decorated with teeth of all sorts including a gold one. A more interesting find than the gold tooth lies in the far side of the area, where the broken, toothless body of a young tiefling child has been set in a place of reverence in a niche in the wall. The child’s body has been tightly wrapped with thick preserved sinews, its wrists and ankles shattered and bound with cold iron chains. All but one of its teeth have been knocked from its jaws.
An examination of the grisly find reveals dozens of phrases have been inscribed in a language non of you recognise in very fine writing along the sinews.

"If I were to hazard a guess? Someone who really doesn't like tieflings, and knows more about fey than any of us." Her nonanswer is as flippant as ever while she does her work. "Since we're out anyways, you guys want to go check out the burned down bar? Might be something there, and it's not likely we'll run into too much trouble what with the Thrunies already having burned the place down. Jack stands silently, a grim look on his face as the others discuss the dead tiefling child and what to do next. Eventually, he speaks his mind.

"This may sound cold, but this child's murder might be spun to our advantage. Tieflings are despised in this city, especially by those in power. If we make public what we found--how this child was used by some monster to terrorize and kill other tieflings--well, assuming the locals have heard about the Night of Ashes, it seems a safe bet their anger and outrage should be directed toward our new tyrannical Lord-Mayor. He has no compunction against killing those he sees as a threat or nuisance. Shall I try to sow a seed of vengeance and rebellion in Zea when next we see her?"

I'm supposed to be the ruthless one here, yeah, but 'spinning a child murder to our advantage...' Ehh, just seems like that sort of thinking's a couple inches from being as bad as the guy who we're trying to gut."

With that said, she thinks things through a bit further.

"You'll need proof, though. This coulda' been any kind of sicko, and Thrune seems more like the devil type than the creepy fey type. Not to mention that the tieflings are already on the down and out with Thrune... we really don't need to do much more than just show we give a flying fighter about 'em and they'll come around to help us eventually...

Right?" She gives a short glance over in Mic's direction.

They have an 'Us vs. Them' mentality...and some sicko just used one of their children in a dark ritual to bring killer fey into their midst. That won't be forgiven. Maybe it's a pipe dream on my part, but it seems logical that the tieflings of Kintargo should be our allies if we're really intending to get rid of Thrune."

She makes a mental note to research a spell to just get the concepts she wants to convey out in as eloquent a manner as possible. Actually, now that she thinks on it, such a spell probably exists already. Knowing her luck, it's from ~enchantment~.

Surely, by this point Nethys himself had to be laughing at her regrets over her choice of major.

"I want to get along with the tieflings just as bad as you do, and almost as bad as I wanna' rub that gnome's nose in all the good we've done and get him to admit we're the Ravens. Just... Be careful?" It's the best that she can come up with, and she tries to back away with an immediate joke.

IN WHICH TIME MARCHES ON...

We start with the upkeep step. Loyalty check!

Loyalty: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Nailed it. We lose only 1d6 supporters.

Attrition: 1d6 ⇒ 3 3 down, leaving us with 12... Our notoriety is fine so there's no mass murder. Our Treasury is fine, so no mass exodus. That means...

RANK UP!!!

The important part for you guys is that everyone gets +1 skill rank to put wherever they want due to training with the rebellion. Enjoy it, because it's nice. Lastly, let's roll for our MIA team from last week.

Security: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Two for two! While we can't USE the Fushi Sisters this week, they come back with a probably very interesting story involving the guards and a couple of explosions. It's very cool.

Lastly for upkeep, we can put money into the treasury. Meliora has a lot of liquid assets right now, so she'll dump 50 gp into keeping things running. If anyone else wants to donate, just lmk and I'll adjust accordingly.

Next is the Activity phase. As a rank 2 team, we get three activities now including Meliora's bonus move. Our first activity is going to be recruiting supporters, because of course it is. Now it costs 20 gp, but Laira gives us another +2.

Loyalty: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 = 24 Why can I literally never roll like this normally?? That's a success, so we gain supporters! 1d6+6, thanks to our recruiters.

New support: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12 We're over the rank 3 threshold, so we might get ANOTHER rank up next week. We'll see. Hail the Ravens!

For action 2: we want to recruit a team. Meliora has at this point noticed Canacha is an okay leader, so she's trying to get a team of legitimate traders to work with her.

Security: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 That's a pass, we needed a 10. We'll call this team the Moneyfarm because it's cool. That leaves our bonus +2 action, which will be to recruit one final team for Canacha to deal with, some Freedom Fighters!

Security: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 2 = 23 Nailed it. This team is the second normal team we can have (The Fushi Sisters don't count against normal team limits), and they're responsible for lowering the danger in town to help us get better events. We'll call them the uh... Gold... Crows. Because why not? Anyways, next week we'll be poised to start doing things with all our teams, and we'll have plenty of gold to spare. But for now, it's event phase time.

Event??: 1d100 ⇒ 45 We hit over 20%, our current event chance, so all is quiet for now. And that's our week two! Imagine Meliora grumbling over paperwork while accounting for all of this if it helps, because she definitely was.

I would also like to note, for the record, that we have 23 members and only 19 supporters. I would like to ask whoever among us who secretly does not support themselves to consider loving yourself, because the rest of us love you.

EDIT: Nevermind. We actually roll 2d6 instead of 1d6 for supporters gained, so I missed the 5 up there. But I will keep this post for posterity because it made me chuckle.

It looks good, one note you have to now mark the box that says the event chance is doubled since you avoided a event this week.
Also I like to add that a group of spies and sabitours are decent teams to have at some point they can make a mission go easier or inform you of possible targets you have to deal with. Just saying because my real life group never thought of using them.

By putting Previous Event to 'no' it did the doubling, if you check it shows as 40 now with a 20 danger and 0 notoriety.

Also, Spies are on my 'definitely want' list, and eventually I plan to cover all of our bases. The problem is that I have a limit on my teams in the early game, and upping our funding/lowering the city's danger rating to make events less likely to bite us in the rear are priorities 1 and 2. Mel is too underhanded to go without sabotaging her enemies forever, though, so I was thinking Spies next, then another merchant group, then ANOTHER spies group, then another rebel fighters group. Advisors are a low priority for Meliora, who is convinced that she is a genius and what she doesn't know the Fushi sisters can probably find out.

Canacha: Yep, it goes anywhere you like and you cannot go over your max possible ranks.

Female human Warpriest of Milani 6 Init +1; Senses Perception +6 AC 18, T 11, FF 17 hp 49/49 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +8, Blessings 0/6, Fervor 0/6

Fantastic rolls. Thanks for doing this.

Male Human Urban Ranger 7 | hp -70- 70/70 NL [0] (0 taken by Bicks)| AC 22, t 15, ff 19 | Fort +8, Ref +8, Will +5 | Init +5 (+3 outside Kintargo) | Perc +15 (13 outside Kintargo) | Speed 20 ft. | FE humans +4; evil outsiders +2 |Conditions: none

Yes, thank you Meliora.

Also, I'm officially putting my bonus skill point into Knowledge (local). Probably. :)

Gameplay map

At the beginning of the new week Rexus comes to the group with a stack of notes on what he has learnt from the documents they recovered earliere. "Many of the original Silver Ravens were adventurers or worshipers of Milani. Jackdaw, a swashbuckler, was the most powerful and influential of them all, but others who rose to particular prominence among the Silver Ravens were Amyreid (a female half-elf cleric of Milani), Ba (a male halfling enchanter), Kyda (a female human rogue/bard), and Brakisi (a male human urban ranger)."
If anyone wanted to help Rexus this week they can do so with one rank in linguistics and must speak Celestial, Elven and Strix. If you succed a DC 20 check you get another tidbit. Also these infomations Rexus comes with here can be important later so take note of them.

After the group has had some much needed rest upon the events in the nursery, they have decided to investigate the burnt down buildings from the night of the ashes. As they are about to leave the hideout Rexus comes to them with some knowledge "I heard that you were going to looking into the fire the Thrashing Badger. During the Night of Ashes, three buildings mysteriously burned to the ground, not just this tavern. No one’s saying it out loud, but the general consensus is that these three buildings (and many of their occupants) were specifically targeted by Barzillai Thrune as dens of sedition. The other two buildings were a music store called the Silver Star and my family's estate. I think our estate was targeted because of my parents who were part of the Sacred Order of Archivists."

Gather infomation, knowledge local or religion DC10:

The Silver Star was not only owned by Shensen but the stores basement served as a shrine to Sarenrae.

Gather infomation, knowledge local or religion DC15:

The Thrashing badger were reputed to be a favorite watering hole for the rebellious cult of Milani.
