Micheria "Mic' Musca |
Sorry posted from phone. I do not have improved grapple but was playing the odds with my AC.
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
Well thats a mistake Canacha should also be there before the tiefling has turn. I'll fix it all except for Jack has had turn.
Meliora Castafiore |
Meliora will head up the ladder after Lena, though she doesn't plan on going through the door up there until she knows there isn't an ambush waiting.
Micheria "Mic' Musca |
"Get on up here. Its a trap but I have a hold of them for now."
She attempts to maintain the grapple and move away from the opening.
Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
Delaying Canacha for now
The tiefling stabs Micheria with his free hand.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Hit
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
The stab wound distracts Micheria enough so that she looses her grip on the enemy and the tiefling is now free again. Micheria you still have a move action if you want to use it.
Rounds: end 1, start 2; bold may act
Micheria, Lena, Meliora, Canacha (D)
Tiefling
Jack
Micheria "Mic' Musca |
Either or. If I am in the way of others coming up I will move. If I am not I will use the move to activate Martial Flexibility for Improved Grapple.
Lena Silas |
Lena scrambles up to the roof as soon as it's clear. "What's going on up here? Really we wanted to see the sunset." She shakes her head and tries to step out of the way so someone else can follow her up.
Meliora Castafiore |
"Lena, please. The only people who would come out here are outlaws or scoundrels, and they tried stabbing us." Meliora follows up as well, trying to keep Mic or Lena between her and the enemies.
"We're looking to talk to the Red Jills. Let's cut with the dung and talk, already. I don't want to waste our time if this is the wrong place."
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
In case people missed it on the previous page, the roof is only 20 feet above so full round is enough to climb it, please move you tokens on to the map when you have climbed :)
Jack Duncloak |
Jack scrambles up the ladder to aid in the fight and/or diplomacy that seems destined to occur.
I'm a bit confused by the map. Are we popping up through the trapdoor near Mic or is what I thought was a rope bridge near Lena where we enter the rooftop?
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
You come up through the trapdoor, the ropebrigde leads over to another building. The map is a little confusing there is also a small outhouse where you enter the roof but it's not mentioned anywhere in the book.
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
A second tiefling appears behind Lena in the doorway stabbing her.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 + Sneak: 1d6 ⇒ 3 = 10 damage
While the other tiefling continues to fight with Micheria.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
A third tiefling appears next to Jack attempting to stab him with his sword
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Rounds: end 2, start 3; bold may act
Micheria, Lena, Meliora, Canacha
Tiefling red, teifling yellow, tiefling green,
Jack
Micheria "Mic' Musca |
Seeing more attackers appear Mic gives up on the idea of grappling one of them and simply attacks with an elbow and a knee.
Unarmed 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Unarmed 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
"We need to make some space here."
Meliora Castafiore |
What are the wind levels like up here? This Actually Matters, I Swear(tm).
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
It's a calm wind you are only 20 ft off the streets below.
Canacha rushed actions draw a few slices from the tieflings standing next to the ladder when she enters the roof.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 miss
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 hit
Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 no
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Micheria gives the tiefling who stabbed her a good elbow to the jaw.
Meliora Castafiore |
Since rogues (well, most rogues) need to see properly in order to properly sneak attack people, Meliora backs her way to the start of the rope bridge, does some quick mental math, and then drops an obscuring mist to fog up the area 20 feet around her, catching Canacha and Jack on its very edges.
"If you get in trouble, fall back in here. Stay to the edges so they can't take advantage of it so easy, kay?"
Jack Duncloak |
Jack steps out of the magical fog to better line up a strike on the nearest tiefling.
longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 for slashing damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Lena Silas |
Lena hisses in pain, and takes a step back. She swings her Morningstar at the green Tiefling, and hits hard.
Morningstar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Morningstar Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
Lena I assume you meant to hit the yellow tiefling the green one is standing by Jack. Lena smashes her morningstar against the poor tiefling knocking out a few teeths and sending him down for the count.
The other two continues to attack their previous targets
Attack Micheria: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Attack Jack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Confirm Jack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Rounds: end 3, start 4; bold may act
Micheria, Lena, Meliora, Canacha
Tiefling red, tiefling green,
Jack
Micheria "Mic' Musca |
Thinking the fight is turning in their favor Mic again attempts to grapple her attacker (red).
"Stop squirming and talk to us."
Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 perfect
Canacha Bais |
She moved out of the fog cloud for a moment dashing around Lena to get a clear look of the teifling messing with Jack. No one messed with their manfolk, besdies she was pretty sure that Mic wanted to talk to the one she was hugging... trying to hug.
"hey bad guy behind you!
She called not expecting either of the tieflings to turn, as she pulled out some chemicals pouring one into another and throwing the concoction between the two tieflings...
point blank bomb toss: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4
She was really looking to splash both red and green, her minimum splash damage is 4 points fire
"Shoot!"
She angrily exclaimed the moment she let go... there was no way that was going to hit where she was aiming...
and oops... heres to hoping she just missing her mark and tosses it over the side eh?
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
4 5 6
3 T 7
2 1 8
1d8 ⇒ 5 Canacha completely misstimes her bomb throw and it lands 5 feet short of the target. The tieflings seems to not be bothered by the fire and just ignores Canacha's attempt.
Jack Duncloak |
Jack twitches a bit at Canacha's misfire, even if the tieflings do not. That one's full of surprises! he thinks briefly before trying again to hack at his foe. Again, his attack misses badly. Swinging a sword in practice and swinging it at a live, moving target are obviously two very different things.
longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 for slashing damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Jack Duncloak |
"About as well as usual," Jack deadpans. "Not on death's doorstep yet, but neither is my opponent."
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
Lena delivers a god blow to the chest of the tiefling knocking some air out of it and while not drawing it's attention it looks angrier than before on Micheria. While the other sticks with trading blows with Jack.
Attack vs. Micheria: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Attack vs. Jack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Touch vs. Canacha: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 3) = 12
While the group is busy fighting with the tiefling suddenly Canacha is hit from behind by a fiery orb sorching her back. As she turns around she sees a female humanoid creature with birdwings flying leaping out of the old belltower and hovering a good 15 feet diagonally behind and above her.
Rounds: end 4, start 5; bold may act
Micheria, Lena, Meliora, Canacha
Tiefling red (5 damage), tiefling green, winged humanoid
Jack
Meliora Castafiore |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Did she just hear someone casting scorching ray?
Meliora walked to the edge of the fog, where she could have an advantage at range, while drawing her crossbow.
From the look of it, they'd hit Canacha. And nobody, NOBODY, was allowed to try and set Canacha on fire until she'd finished exacting her revenge for that horrifically cutesy nickname she'd stuck Mel with!
Color spray wouldn't reach far enough. Vanish was for running. Ray of Frost wouldn't reach either.
Only one option, right?
Prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Save the freaking day.
"SIT THE HELL DOWN SO WE CAN TALK, BEFORE I SEE TO IT THAT EVERY GODSDAMNED ONE OF YOU IS PERSONALLY MADE INTO A RUG IN THE THRICE-DAMNED OFFICE OF IDIOTS WHO DON'T KNOW HOW GODSDAMNED PARLEY WORKS!"
Attack, using prescience: 20 + 3 = 23
Confirm Critical: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
damage, crit?: 1d8 ⇒ 1
It's official. Meliora is a little bit mad.
Micheria "Mic' Musca |
Wincing at the blow she received and then again at the presence of the caster Mic lashes out again at her attacker unleashing two palm strikes.
"Great now they have a caster."
Flurry 1: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
Meliora's bolt hits the creature quite good but it's not a critical wound it has recieved. Micheria finishes off the tiefling in front of her knocking him down and out for the count.
Rounds: end 4, start 5; bold may act
Micheria, Lena, Meliora, Canacha
Tiefling green, winged humanoid (7 damage)

Canacha Bais |
She had been reaching to draw her pistol when pain erupted along her entire back. So much pain, she couldnt even yelp proper as she started to turn barely catching a glimpse of something with wings before she passed out crumpling to the ground barely stirring.

Meliora Castafiore |
Wait wait wait, that hurts undead/heals living. Canacha's a Dhampir, wouldn't that damage her further?
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
From what I can read of the warpriest's fervor is considered positive energy for this
"By expending one use of fervor, a good warpriest (or one who worships a good deity) can touch a creature to heal it of 1d6 points of damage + an additional 1d6 points for every 3 warpriest levels he possesses beyond 2nd (to a maximum of 7d6 at 20th level). Using this ability is a standard action (unless the warpriest targets himself, in which case it's a swift action). Alternatively, the warpriest can use this ability to harm an undead creature, dealing the same amount of damage he would otherwise heal with a melee touch attack. Using fervor in this way is a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity. Undead do not receive a saving throw against this damage. This use of fervor counts as positive energy."
Meliora Castafiore |
A-at least Canacha told everyone where they were..?
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
If they are normal potions you can find the potion as a move action and administrate it with a full round action. The problem is if it's alchemist exstracts then they only works in the hand of the alchemist.
Canacha Bais |
They were regular old inflict light wounds potions... like cure but opposite :) I think i/she mentioned she had special potions for herself when she made them. Looking back, after I almost fell in the pit trap and all Canacha specifically pointed out the potions that would help her specificially on her belt. You guy's call whether or not you remember it Now go get that flying monster!
Canacha Bais |
Strangely instead of the soft glow of healing spreading through the body the red haired womans skin starts to darken as a small fist sized bruise shows up where Lena attempted to heal her.
Heh No worries! -4/15
Jack Duncloak |
Jack grimaces as the winged spellcaster joins the fray. Just cut down this one guy and you can bring your longbow to bear against the flying...whatchamacallit-thingee! Jack thinks. First things first, though....
longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 for slashing damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Well, it's a start.
Jesper Roland Sørensen |
The tiefling is not looking very well but it's clear on it's face that he is more afraid of the boss in the air then Jack and so he continues stabbing after him.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
The flying humanoid flies over to a new position and takes a shot at Micheria with another ray of flames.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5, 1) = 13

Micheria "Mic' Musca |
I thought I was inside a structure all this time. Blank and White is where I was.
"OUCH! Hope you folks are taking her down while I get cooked."
Feeling the heat Mic brings moves to flank the last attacker on the ground adopting a defensive stance.
Move and Total Defense. At 3HP
Jack Duncloak |
Jack dodges another attack from his fiend-touched foe and hacks back at the flanked fellow, hopeful of downing him.
longsword (flanking): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 = 26 for slashing damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
longsword confirm? (flanking): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15 for slashing damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
When Jack sees how badly Mic's hurt, his plan of disappearing back into the mist momentarily goes out the window. Instead, he points the tip of his longsword at the flying spellslinger and vows, "You're next!"
Meliora Castafiore |
Meliora reloaded her crossbow, and tried to get up another feeling about the situation.
Prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Not as good. Still, she has a little more information now. One cast could mean a wizard. Two rays, and with them being an outlaw? It's a sorcerer. That meant they only knew the one spell--maybe one more, if they were completely outclassed. Still, it helps her try and suss out the enemy's possible spell loadout. That shot had felt good, it would have been a critical blow if it had been aimed at her, and sorcerers/wizards had similar defenses. While firing from a location that a sorcerer wouldn't see coming, that meant... Mage armor, and maybe Shield. If they'd started casting right when Mic started the fight... There was technically enough time for both, if this bird's reactions were immediate.
Still, from here, the enemy can't see her and she can see it. That gives her an advantage.
"Guys, please remember the cloud of mysterious fog that is really just aces for staying out of the range of laser beams. He's probably got a couple more in the tank."
Okay. Time to keep firing crossbow bolts for better or for worse.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
After firing, she takes a five foot step to the side to make sure that return fire to her original location would miss.
