Hi guys! Posting it on all my pbps.

Our offshore team at work is very affected by the pandemic at the moment and with the fiscal year approaching to an end, our reduced capacity is terribly affecting my time. For the next several weeks it will likely impact me in such way that I simply won't be able to keep up with the forums, things normalizing only as we start approaching mid June.

For the games where I play, GMs please feel free to bot the characters. If you don't desire to bot me for so long, I completely understand, apologize for the late notice and wish you all the best of fun. If you hold me around, though, I should be back after this storm.

For the games where I host, my sincerest apologies to the players - I won't let you hanging so if you stick around until my return we will give it continuation as normal. Otherwise, please message me and once I'm back I'll recruit replacements.

To everybody, I'm sorry for the late notice and I hope we will continue playing together once I'm back!

Cheers,

Archlich

Please don't take Bazzle's willingness to head off into another room and confront what might be a hearty foe (and whatever else she throws that way) as meaning that no one else can't come along too.

Bazzle was thinking if Xyl needed a minute to regroup and reattack us that the Dottari is an enemy both before and after he is charmed. He also was worried that if we go deeper into the demon's lair and kill her that might auto free the Dottari who might go get help.

That said he is also willing to rush into the situation half cocked . . . and well hidden.

clarifications:
So if Aster wanted to disable the trap, she'd roll 1d20 and add 4 for her charisma, but no more because she doesn't have disable device, or could she roll bluff which is a +17 to trick them into believing she disabled it?

Good question, thanks for asking.

It would be the first one, 1d20+4. The reason is because you have no idea what you're doing, and therefore it's very difficult for it to be believable. Think of it from Bazzle's perspective. He's a very talented lockpick, and if he watched you lean down and fumble around with your fingers for a few seconds, he'd never believe you'd be able to disable the trap.

A different way that might be easier to get the dice in your favour would be to break down the door. This would normally be a simple Strength check, but for you you'd use your Charisma. You don't really have to know what you're doing, you just need to charge the door and smack it, convincingly. Even if you're a sorcerer with 7 Strength, Bazzle might say to himself "guess it was unlocked".

I realize I've opened up a Pandora's Box, and it's a little weird, but I think in this circumstance it promotes everyone's participation, instead of those immune to just stand around waiting for people to disbelieve.

STR +0/+2
Focus +1/+0
Spec +0/+2
Magic +2/+2
Rapid -2/+0
Deadly Aim -2/+4
Sacred Weapon +1/+1

That looks to end up at:

+10/+13, so I was missing a point of damage.

Hmm, I have been neglecting Point Blank Shot for +1/+1 though, so that would make it +11/14.

Kinda up to the DM whether you can repair someone's hymen with a cure spell or if you need a full on regenerate spell. Cure spells typically can't restore lost limbs or organs, but they will repair damaged flesh, so it's a coin flip.

A few really quick notes that I want to mention:

- Abbo said that he'd be back sometime around mid June. As we go from late June into early July, I'm aware that we may need to recruit. However, I'm going to wait until mid July before that happens.

- This base (formerly known as the Fair Fortune Livery) is viable for the silver ravens, though it does require a lot of repairs. I am currently working on modifying the build points system to function for our rebellion hideouts. This includes listing all the features each base has, what each base can construct, how much each construction costs, rebellion levels per base (including team allocation), and BP price (flat or scaling?).

- You guys will level up after your next sleep.
Before that can happen, I'll need to know what you want to do with/for Korada. Korada is a LG Varisian commoner (level 3). 18 years old, no special recruitment bonuses. She lives in a farm outside of Kintargo, and will need at minimum some proper clothes and a bit of money in order to get home. Crossing the Bleakbridge costs 1sp, and exiting the city costs 5sp (I think).

human/wererat (Tian-Dan) lunar oracle 7 AC:24/14/20 (26/14/22 hyrbid) HP:51/51 (58/58 hybrid) F:+5 R: +8 W: +10 (+6/+8/+10 hybrid | +1 vs mind affecting), Init: -1(+3 hybrid) Perception: +13 spells: level 3 4/5 level 2 6/7, level 1 7/7, gift of claw and horn 7/7, disguise DC 19

It sounds like she wants to go home, so I vote we send her on her way, with clothes, and the money to do so. We can put her up in an inn for the evening, and instruct her how to best get home without worry for leaving in the morning.

I've been using the Downtime rules (buildings and organizations, rooms and teams) to find prices and rules regarding rooms for our rebellion bases. Here's what I've come up for the Coffeehouse and Wasp Nest. All I need from you is... does all this make sense? Please ask me questions if something here doesn't make sense to you. Later I'll post the same thing for the Lucky Bones and for the Fair Fortune Livery.

Longroads Coffeehouse and Wasp Nest

Features:

- Tavern (22 goods, 1 influence, 22 labor (910gp))
○ Bath (3 goods, 1 influence, 2 labor (130gp))
○ Bedroom (8 goods, 7 labor (300gp))
○ Bunks (7 goods, 4 influence, 7 labour (400gp))
○ Common Room (7 goods, 8 labour (300gp))

- Secret Door (2 goods, 3 labour (100gp))
- Bunks (7 goods, 4 influence, 7 labour (400gp))
- Lavatory (3 goods, 3 labour (120gp))
- Sewer Access (2 goods, 1 influence, 2 labour (110gp))
- Altar (2 goods, 1 influence, 2 labor, 1 magic (210gp))
- Storage Room (3 goods, 3 labour (120gp)))
- Common Room (7 goods, 8 labour (300gp))
- Watering Hole (10 goods, 3 influence, 5 labour (200gp))
Total: 2,040gp + 1,560gp = 3,600gp
Supports: Up to 21 people (including teams). 11 of those people are in the tavern, and 10 are in the wasp nest.
Note: Laria employs a team of 6 halfling bakers
Current Occupants: 28/21 This number will decrease when the Lucky Bones is operational.

Unique Benefit: All residents (including teams) have 50% upkeep when staying at the coffeehouse or wasp nest.

Strengths:

- Rumour mill
- Legal business
- Clean drinking water
- Waste management
- Sewer Entrance (and escape route)

Weaknesses:

- Limited team/refugee capacity
- Limited storage capacity
- No training rooms
- No crafting rooms
- No infirmary
- Vulnerable to
○ Invasion (mitigate with traps, armoured guards, defensive rooms)
○ Divinations (mitigate with lead tiling, running water overhead, really thick ceiling/walls)

- Disease
○ Missing laundry room (Rexus is filling this role with spellcasting)

- Morale
○ Missing rooms for entertainment
○ Bunks (double penalty if overfull)

- Secrecy
○ The sewer entrance is not hidden/secret
○ There's only one secret door, which could be augmented or made redundant

human/wererat (Tian-Dan) lunar oracle 7 AC:24/14/20 (26/14/22 hyrbid) HP:51/51 (58/58 hybrid) F:+5 R: +8 W: +10 (+6/+8/+10 hybrid | +1 vs mind affecting), Init: -1(+3 hybrid) Perception: +13 spells: level 3 4/5 level 2 6/7, level 1 7/7, gift of claw and horn 7/7, disguise DC 19

As always picking a feat is the hardest part of leveling.

Treasure, can Aster get an animal companion of a crocodile? It doesn't have to travel with us much, just travel the sewers and guard their entrance/exit. There is a revelation that gives her one and limits the choices. Bear, boar, tiger, shark, croc, or wolf. I figured croc was most fitting.

And I need to read downtime rules apparently :) What I read, especially strengths and weaknesses sound good.

Let's open that list a bit. The themes are Moon, and Wererat.

- Bat, Dire
- Bear
- Bird, Owl (Giant) (not the magical beast)
- We'll skip boar, because I don't see any symbolism
- Crab, Giant
- We'll skip crocodiles, because I don't see any symbolism
- Frog, Giant
- We'll skip tigers, because I don't see any symbolism
- Rat, Dire
- Raven, Giant, because silver ravens and stuff
- We'll skip sharks, because I don't see any symbolism, and aquatic
- Toad, Giant
- Wolf
- I could whip up a giant moth companion if you'd like.

Should we escort Korada back home and try to help her get back into her life? We might get some allies if we spin it right (and make some decent Diplomacy checks). But maybe we don't want to get in the middle of that family drama.

I love that from a heroic and roleplaying point of view, but worry about time. Fox has done a good job increasing the anxiety level of this game :)

Any decision on animal companion? Or did I mess it up too much?

So for easy reading the features spoiler, it's easiest to block out the goods, labour, influence, etc. Just look at the gold. The base has two pieces, one being the actual coffeehouse (which is closest to a tavern), and the actual hideout itself (called the wasp nest). Taverns are already listed under buildings and organizations, but Laria has her own very nice bedroom, a bunk room for her live-in employees, and a common room upstairs, so I added those to the cost. Everything below that belongs to the Wasp Nest (starting at secret door, and going down to watering hole). It may be difficult to visualize, since you might not have ever seen the proper map for the Wasp Nest. The great thing about that setup is that you get clean water, indoor plumbing, and full access to the sewers. It's also nice that the coffeehouse is a fully operational, legal business (as opposed to just a front), which means it can make money on its own. The downsides are that it doesn't really specialize at anything. It's not good at training teams, crafting items, or even holding large amounts of people. It was built to house a handful of halflings as they wait to stow away on a ship destined for Varisia. It is not designed for a rebellion. The altar doesn't even represent a deity that anyone even worships.
Earlier on, Rexandi decided to hire a team of crafters, who will show up at the week's end. These crafters will be able to do construction work. They can make a room in one week (unless they have to dig, in which case it's two weeks). This will let you customize your bases. So for instance, the Wasp Nest could become tailored for money making, the Lucky Bones could be a fortified sanctuary, and the Fair Fortune Livery could be training hall with a stables front. Up to you.

Regarding Korada, I'll roll with whatever you decide, but it was not my expectation to escort her and solve family drama. Could happen, could get some useful rewards for later in the game, but it was not my plan. I have no issues with you guys finding extra things to do. It helps make this rebellion feel like it took awhile, instead of overthrowing Thrune in like a month or two. At some point, we may want to find ways to do downtime weeks, so that we don't need to play out 365 days. I'm not entirely sure what that would look like.

human/wererat (Tian-Dan) lunar oracle 7 AC:24/14/20 (26/14/22 hyrbid) HP:51/51 (58/58 hybrid) F:+5 R: +8 W: +10 (+6/+8/+10 hybrid | +1 vs mind affecting), Init: -1(+3 hybrid) Perception: +13 spells: level 3 4/5 level 2 6/7, level 1 7/7, gift of claw and horn 7/7, disguise DC 19

Haven't had much time to look through the differences today. The raven or owl speaks to me the most on first glance. Giant moth is neat. Rat too much of the theme there :)

Sorry for your massive lay off, Rexandi. Here I thought businesses would be improving now that most places have stopped quarantine. Though I don't know how California is doing.

I had an unfortunate evening yesterday where I went into the emergency room. I won't go into specifics, but basically I've been so stressed that my body is having problems. I'm going to keep running games, because it's what I love and I don't want to quit the things that bring positivity into my life.

I think Korada is one of my "good idea, but could have used some extra work and forethought" creations.

Feat ideas for Aster:
- Great Fortitude
- Archon Style tree (unfortunately does require combat reflexes and combat expertise)
- Shapeshifter Style tree (especially the first one)
- Swift Aid (does require combat expertise), or Insightful Advice, or Combat Advice
- Step Up tree
- Vital Strike
- Natural Spell or Wild Speech (with a few exceptions, I consider your change shape ability equivalent to wild shape)
- Strike True
- Bolstered Resilience (this one is slightly broken on you. I'd require you to remember when you have a swift/immediate action available)
- Animal Soul
- Combat Casting
- Connected
- Dilettante
- Divine Protection
- Spell Bluff
- Extend Spell
- Reach Spell
- Silent Spell and/or Still Spell
- I was thinking of creating a feat that would allow you to shapeshift into a common rat

It's not game-breaking, because if they've got silver then you're screwed either way, and it doesn't work against elemental damage types. But yes it is especially powerful on you. I feel like you're already suffering as a wererat oracle with a level below, so I'm not against you getting tossed a bone every now and then. If you were a wererat rogue or something else optimized, then I wouldn't feel the same.

Okay, to make life easier, no animal companion. Took Form of the beast as her revelation.

She won't be able to do a common rat until level 9 (tiny animal), but she could become an owl to fly across the city or a small crocodile to swim through the sewers. It is highly irritating that it can only be done once a day for 7 hours instead of uses in 7 increments of one hour each like other revelations, but it can still be nice.

I did take the very nice feat of Bolstered Resilience though. If ever feels like too much just let me know and she can retrain.

other bits, fcb for a new second level spell, plus level spells gave her
1: fastidiousness
2: shield other, restoration lesser
3: magic circle against evil

skills: bluff, diplomacy, know local (her first point in it), perception, sense motive, a couple of points in spellcraft for identifying things, and survival (I think)
background: merchant, handle animal (first point)

I put my stat point into INT, so my big gain this level was skills! Brought most of them up to 8 points.

No Feats, no new spell levels, although a few more spells per level.

An easy level to do for me.

I'll pick spells daily.

Oh, and with the INT boost, I got another language, added Abyssal to go with my Infernal.
