I wrote it down somewhere in gameplay I think. 435 feet or something to that extent
DM Hell's Fox
In terms of spells, I think dimension door is the only thing that will just taken someone from one end to the other. There's fly, of course, and slipstream I think it's called.

@Rexandi, I'm inclined to agree. If shadow step didn't have a verbal component, then I'd see the reason to use it.
It looks like the reason it exists is for wizards who have conjuration as an opposition/forbidden school.
Aster Cobblestone
Aster is a spontaneous caster so she is no help here. She can make it through the sewers as a rat with ease though, and after seeing Vandomir's lovely use of fastidiousness she now has it as well.

We had an underwater adventure, in which I modified a manta cloak. After I promised the group that there was no more underwater stuff, I believe Bazzle sold it.
Aster Cobblestone
Dire rats have a swim speed, so Rat-Aster is okay.
DM Hell's Fox
Sorry for my lateness. I've gotten side tracked with life. I'm back though!
Games and money and girls. You know, the usual.

Part of this is due to the nature of a years long game but the current conversaion about protests being dangerous makes me not really understand the city or the resistance. Are there no protests ever? Is there no organized resistance beyond what our groups do?
As for what Bazzle is thinking. I remember reading about WW2 era and Post War East Europe when formal protests became impossible they still found lots of ways to be annoying even to cause problems for authorities. For instance everyone walked their dog right before curfew. Now staging a protest or a riot is more dangerous than walking the dog at 7:55 before an 8pm curfew but in that same spirit there is accidental traffic jams with carts and scared or tangled horses or oops accidental fires or "accidents" that would lead to the need for those that would respond to prison to be elsewhere engaged and lead the prison to feel like sending a runner is not worth it knowing that their help already has their handful.
At one point I remember an underworld crime syndicate that or something like that we took one out? Before I joined I think. It lead to us being perceived as just a new street gang for awhile. Is there another not "good" group that is also a target of the authorities.
Sorry to bring up questions I am just trying to get my head back into the game.

As far as what the book says, there aren't any protests beyond what our group does. There are some random events that result in a protest, but we've never had one of those happen. I think there's reason to believe that there might be some sort of organized public disobedience, but I don't know about a protest. The protest at Aria Park was attacked by the Dottari at the order of Barzillai Thrune (I think someone threw a tomato at him, which sparked the conflict). People died. The Dottari attack with lethal force, and if someone happens to be left bleeding out and they have time, they'll stabilize and capture the person.
Now it does mention that there are tiny groups of Milanites hiding out, doing little things here and there. They're unable to contact the Rose of Kintargo for orders, so they're on their own.
If we were aiming for taking down Thrune through protest, misinformation, and the will of the people, I would have focused more on this stuff.
Wayyyy back in the day, the Silver Ravens found a gang known as the Red Jills. The Ravens went to their hideout (which was the Humbright House in Temple district) and slaughtered them to the last, and left their bodies to rot in the sun. I wouldn't really call the Red Jills as crime syndicate, really just a gang of brutes and pickpockets.
There are other gangs and thieves in Kintargo, but I wouldn't say any of them are "good", apart from the cult of Milani. We've got some neutrals, and some downright evils. You may want to go through them all, and bring in the ones who you think you could ally with, and run out the rest of them. In the future, we may have some difficulties as some of the groups you recruit may not get along with other groups you recruit. For instance, the Hellknights of the Order of the Torrent are good, but they are also lawful. The cult of Milani is good, but chaotic.
These are good questions, and I'm happy that you're taking the time to gather your bearings in order to make informed decisions.
Aster Cobblestone
Left their bodies to rot in the sun?!? Oh goodness... we're the good guys, right?
DM Hell's Fox
That's why people think you're a ruthless gang
But ever since then, operations have become significantly more subtle. The average person might remember the slaughter, but it's starting to get buried. There are a few pockets (like the Dwarven community) that know that the Silver Ravens are actually a group that show hope and compassion, like when they rescued the Dwarf twins from the Lucky Bones, and gave the one that passed away a beautiful Dwarven/Shelynite funeral. So now when you talk with a Dwarf in Kintargo, there's a solid chance they think highly of the Silver Ravens. That doesn't mean they recognize you on sight, but if asked about the Silver Ravens, they'd have a lot of good things to say.
DM Hell's Fox
It's been an in-game month since the slaughter of the Red Jills.
About 3 weeks since the Dwarven funeral.
2 weeks since the killing of Menotheguro the aboleth
1 week since you returned to Kintargo from the ocean
and 2 days since the slaying of Xyl the succubus.
I don't know when the Aria Park Protest happened. I hadn't implemented a calendar system at that time.
DM Hell's Fox
Fun fact: This is what real rat poison usually does, although it's an ingested poison instead, and it takes awhile for the poison to start having an effect, and it operates on a timeline of days rather than hours.
DM Hell's Fox
Stay and wait for Sabo to return to her quarters?
Or proceed into the warden's office?
Aster Cobblestone
We have a limited window of distraction, and the boss lady might be out there dealing with that distraction, so I vote to proceed. Someone can grab the notebook so we can negotiate if we run into her.
DM Hell's Fox
Tasha is returning to the game. She's made some alterations to be a Str based bard. I've decided she'll replace one of the "terrorists" in their cell.
DM Hell's Fox
Also you aren't failing the mission by fighting. Don't worry about it.
As I'm pretty sure I mentioned before, the regular guards aren't strong, and Sabo is about as powerful as one of you.
Tasha Valenti
Hey everyone!
I'm glad to be back, and I'm very sorry to have disappeared without a trace. I was going through some bad, bad stuff related to the Unpleasantness of the past two years (gods, Corona has been around for two years already)
That said, I'm back here, and I'm ready to get smacked in the face again!
Aster Cobblestone
Woohoo!!!! Welcome back Tasha!! Sorry life sucked there, but am glad it has gotten better, or at least manageable.
Tasha gets to be rescued again :)
DM Hell's Fox
I doubt you're gonna get smacked in the face anytime soon, but we'll see. I've managed to roll double nat 20's before.
DM Hell's Fox
Actually AC24 ain't that bad. I take it back. You'll get smacked every now and then

Hi guys. I'm so very sorry about this major delay. I'm happy, I'm healthy, I'm so very overwhelmed. I have new friends, new romance, constant changing of my decisions for a professional life. I finally got sponsored for my disabilities through the government, which covers my expensive medication and more. It's just so much.
I'm really trying to think hard about how this game will continue. I would like it to continue. I would like to finish some time this decade. I'm not sure how. I think I need to seriously re evaluate how to organise and run this game, and let got of previous beliefs around how to run in PBP.
You guys are in my thoughts, and you're welcome to make suggestions and leave comments here. We will continue, in the very near future, but I don't feel confident on promising a time at this moment.
I hope you're all doing well.
Aster Cobblestone
WOOHOO! Treasure! <massive embarrassing happy dance>
Doing well. New job, slow boards, but happy family.
Take your time. Still here.
Bazzle Blast-hazard
All, going into our third day of no power here. Just a quick note to say I’m alive, and I’ll post when things get going here again.
Stay safe. Where are you located. I know Colorado got slammed but I know further east was hit too.
DM Hell's Fox
Good Good, and I'm also almost ready. I'm thinking within this week, maybe even tomorrow.
Aster Cobblestone
Tomorrow was a bit ago, hopefully the reasons are still the happy awesome kind :)
DM Hell's Fox
Oh and yes, still the happy kind ^^ turns out I'm very happy to have a girlfriend, but I've been making ALOT of time for her
DM Hell's Fox
Sorry guys, I'm still thinking of you. These games are on my to-do list
DM Hell's Fox
I found a work around. I let her sleep, and then update the games while she's snoozin. Hehehehe
Rexandi Vatia
Feelin' the bind here, I feel bad about lightning bolting the regular guards, but I'm stuck in this room until the two in the hall are down, and darkness would just make everything worse for the party. Might lean on a shadow conjuration. Sorry that I'm having trouble making up my mind.
