DM, what style game do you like? Do you like a high fantasy type party with half-vampires, gnoll bards, or barbarian sylphs? Or do you like a more gritty or traditional party make up?
I am just wondering, because I can always make up something more exotic if you think an elf ranger is too bland.
My currently submitted character is a switch hitter when it comes to melee vs ranged.

I am interested and working on a character named Conall built around the elven branched spear and inspired by Celtic myth. He'd start as an unchained rogue, but quickly transition into brawler or fighter. I've got most the crunch and background finished. Just need to work on appearance, personality, and campaign connection.

Alchemists and investigators can craft with the Master Craftsman feat. What are you looking to craft? I could possibly see getting rid of the limitations on what crafting feats you can take.
I'll just explain my, as of yet unpolished, character concept:
A shoanti investigator (steel hound) of the Sklar-Quah. She is no longer with her Quah, as her fascination with the ancient thassilonian civilization was considered wrong and unhealthy by the tribe's leaders. She was given a choice: stop seeking things that ought not to be sought, or leave the Quah. She chose to leave. Her fascination started as a child, when she found a pistol close to one of the Thassilonian monoliths, and mistakenly thought the two were connected. She still believes so, but she might learn different over the course of the campaign (I expect so at least). The pistol broke down after she learned how it functioned, but she has kept it ever since. In game terms, she has the gun at level 1, but she only figures out a way to make it work again by level 2.
She is still spiritual, and wears small totem-like beads as jewelry, and makes a new one everytime something big happens in her life. So far she has 3-7 (depending on what my background story reveals). Unfortunately, she also has a fair amount of unhealthy habbits: Alchohol, smoke, maybe even drugs, those kinds of things.
I plan to take the traits "Scholar of the Ancients" and "Shoanti Steed".
My hope was to be able to craft Homunculi at some point, which requires Craft Construct. This homunculi would act as the Doctor Watson to my Sherlock Holmes. At the very least, I assume there won't be any firearms as loot, so I'd take Craft Magic Arms and Armor under any circumstances. Alternatively I would take a leadership type feat and gain a cohort that can act as my Doctor Watson instead. 4 feats is a hefty price for a homunculus after all.

I have never played Rise of the Runelords, looking forward to the opportunity!
This is Robert Henry's half-elf unchained rogue. He is a native to Sandpoint, his mother was a Varisian girl who worked for Lady Kaye his father was a customer. Later mother married a member of the Sczarni who taught Seamus the trade.
His crunch is complete, I will finish the fluff tonight. Goldmyr, thank you for your consideration.

Awesome! I've updated my character's appearance and will finish up with his personality and reason for being in Sandpoint as soon as I get the time tomorrow.

IronDesk |

Hey there, dropped a dot way back on Tues, finally decided on a character idea. Here's the character background and personality. Should have a full profile up shortly:
Kesari always looked to the stars. While his siblings swung through the lower branches he could always be found in the highest perch, staring out across the canopy to where the green met blue. While his fellow students were content to roam no farther than a mother’s cry from home, he could be found at the jungles edge, the great trees ended and the grass sea began. So it was no surprise to anyone when young Kesari left his meditative life in the treetop monasteries to run off with the human traders from the west.
In the years since, he has seen many wonders all across the Inner Sea. He has gained much wisdom but still yearns for more. Religion fascinates him and pulls at his soul but he cannot tell who is doing the pulling. Is it the Dawnflower, in all her fiery glory, that he sees in every brilliant sunrise? Or is it Desna’s song of the spheres lulling him to sleep on a starry night? Perhaps his wanderings have all been steps on the path to self perfection and it is stern Irori he hears in every new obstacle he overcomes and riddle he solves.
The path Kesari’s feet have taken has led him to Varisia, where he has heard of an upcoming festival dedicating a temple to many gods at once. Perhaps here he will find some sign of the path his soul should take.
***
Notes: Kesari looks at the world with wide eyed awe yet his eager to share his cryptic wisdom with those around him. He sees good in everyone he meets but the harsh realities of years of travelling as essentially a vagabond have taught him the cruelties that others hide in their hearts. He will start play as a monk(sensei) but immediately cross over to cleric(ecclesitheurge), filling the role of a versatile divine caster and supporter. I'm leaving the choice of cleric diety open until he changes classes and am excited to let the events of the adventure shape his decision of what diety he chooses.
Hah! A ratfolk, kobold, gnoll and now vanara on the submission list. We could form our own traveling carnival!

Seamus Passeri |
Ok, the crunch has been done, here is the fluff, thanks for your consideration Goldmyr!
Seamus basking in the moonlight stands in the square, his half-elf eyes focused on the new temple, Everyone is excited, Along with the Swallowtail Festival we will celebrate the dedication of this lovely new cathedral. Looking about the square he reminisces. I remember the old church, I remember the first time I was in this square alone, well not exactly alone, being chased by bullies, they never caught me that day.
Smiling to himself he continued. I remember many a night coming past this very place in the wee hours of the morning returning to the brothel after spending the evening at Junker’s Edge watching scrounging goblins, every now and then throwing rocks at them. Seamus stooped over and picking up a couple of rocks off of the cobble stone and throws one into the darkness. This was the first place Zandu had me attempt a cut purse, that was on a Swallowtail festival also, those were good tmes. Seamus frowns as he drops the second stone back to the cobbles.
There were sad times too. When the Chopper took Ionacu and Esmerelda, they call it ‘the late unpleasantness’, it was a hell of a lot worse than unpleasant for the families who lost someone. I’m glad they burned that bastard. looking at the new cathedral again. He’s not all that burned though, that same month the north side was aflame, as if Old Stoot took more in his death than in his life. Seamus shudders as he continues walking across the town square.
Finally looking back at the new building; At least we have our new church and a new start. He unconsciously touches one of his daggers, and a new Swallowtail Festival with new purses to cut. Smiling to himself as he leaves the square and heads for home.
Seamus Passeri was born twenty years ago to Alika Passeri, a beautiful Varisian girl with hazel colored hair and green eyes. For several years she was a working girl at Lady Kaye’s establishment. His father had been a traveling minstrel who was a fixture at the playhouse. For a time, Alika and he were quite an item, painting the town. After he left she realized she was pregnant. When the beautiful baby boy was born she named him Seamus after her father.
As Seamus grew up he was teased and bullied by the other kids in the neighborhood because he was different, his half-elf features set him apart, he spent a lot of time alone. Instead of fighting he would run, His favorite place to hide was the cliffs on the Varisian Gulf, he would sit at Junker’s Edge and watch the goblins scrounge through the junk and garbage. He would make his way back home after twilight trusting to his elven vision. During the daytime he would stay busy with odd jobs around ‘the house’: chopping wood, working in the stables, helping in the kitchen and running errands.
Seamus life changed as he became older and his mother decided to retire from what was a young woman’s profession. She settled down and married a Varisian named Zandu Vasilica, who was a small time crook and member of the Sczarni. Zandu instantly recognized Seamus’ skills. Seamus was old enough to continue working odd jobs for Lady Kaye but the rest of the time he was being instructed by Zandu on skills the Sczarni valued: fighting, pickpocketing, lock picking and burglary.
Last year, Seamus life took a major turn. His step-father was offered a mid-level position by his family in Magnimar: It had been Zandu’s dream fulfilled, he and Seamus’ mother moved there immediately. Seamus decided to stay in Sandpoint. It was his home, It was where he belonged. He continued his work for lady Kaye in the stables and would occasionally earn a little cash doing “independent” work.
Seamus appearance is a mixture of the larger culture around him and his mother’s Varisian sensibility in both his physical appearance and style. He has the olive colored skin and expressive eyes of his mother’s people and the height and litheness associated with his elven father. His hair is a sandy brown and his eyes the same green as his mother. His pointed ears and elfin features clearly mark him as a half breed. His choice of clothing in functional and simple with splashes of bright colors in the scarf he wears to keep his long hair back and in the rings on his fingers. He is normally seen wearing his brown leather jacket, (which is actually studded leather armor) with brown hose and durable low boots. He wears a short sword on his belt and daggers hidden in sheaths up his sleeves and strolls about with a knotted oak walking stick.
Seamus is a quiet man with a quick wit and savvy sense of things. He is a shining example of Sandpoint’s underbelly. Not well educated but a fair amount of ‘horse sense.’ Loyal in his own way and living by his own code, he is quick to help a friend and quick to exploit those who have ‘more than their fair share.’

He was guided through that wondrous realm by an expectant entity, a woman in black known only as "the Teacher." She stated that his presence there was "too early," and with her help he eventually found his way back to Golarion, but when he did a disproportionate amount of time had passed since his departure. He soon discovered the fate of his homeland and feared that he was now truly alone. However, in a kind twist of fate, Conall was discovered and adopted a nomadic family of fey-worshiping elves who felt the tinge of the First World upon him. Combining their lessons with what he had learned from the Teacher, Conall became a capable individual, but his full potential was always locked away behind a sense of restlessness and unease. By the time he had reached his twenties, the young Sarkorian felt the need to strike out on his own, taking with him two of the distinct branched spears used by his adoptive family.
In the years since, Conall has idly roamed the lands of Northern and Middle Avestan. Wherever possible, he ekes out a modest living as a chariot racer and gladiatorial athlete, but his pursuits have been short lived and met only with mixed success. When not engaging in sporting completions, Conall makes ends meet by selling his spear-arm as a bodyguard or adventurer for hire, his only rule being that he won't take any underhanded or malicious contracts.
It is clear, even to himself, that he is stagnating when he should be thriving. Conall is lacking the spark, the impetus to action, which would allow him to meet his full potential. But such a thing is not easily found and so, until such an impetus arrives, he has continues to wander aimlessly, hoping to at least make some kind of positive difference wherever he goes in his pursuit of self-worth.
Conall's attire is fairly simple. He usually wears dark brown linen pants with black riding chaps and boots worn over them. On his chest he wears a range of green-to-blue shirts which he fits his brown leather armor over. He leaves his arms largely exposed and unhindered, preferring only forearm guards of teal painted-leather. He keeps a shortsword and dagger at his belt, along with his sling and stone bullets. He caries his two spears in linen shawls which he can sling over his shoulder, although the greenspear's case also has a lead lined cover for the head. The greenspear has a black, darkwood shaft and spearheads of deep green viridium. The secondary spearheads wrap around the shaft, spiraling up and around it before finally splaying outwards and terminating in thorn-like points. The regular branched spear is designed in the same way, but is made of ash and steel instead.
Conall finds it difficult to turn his back on a bad situation, but understands that saving everyone is not possible for a mere mortal. Furthermore, one good act in the present, may provoke a greater evil in the future. This principle is not used as an excuse for inaction, but as a reminder to always think through the potential the consequences of his actions, instead of acting thoughtlessly. That said, Conall has a weakness for tragic cases; situations wherein a person is a victim more of fate than the consequences of their own choices. In such situations, he is much more likely to act on emotion, rather than reason. Likewise, a threat against Conall's friends or loved ones also causes the Kellid warrior's composure to slip, bringing bloody thoughts and deeds to the surface.
Although Conall prefers to avoid bloodshed, he does not hold back once violence becomes inevitable. He follows the warrior tradition of his forefathers, and does not give quarter once engaged in lethal combat. He has no moral qualms about battles to the death, so long as both parties are acting of their own will. He sees through such battles to their blood conclusion, both as a point of pride and as a sign of respect. Besides, Conall is not so certain of his own skills that he believes he can pull his punches in a serious battle and still survive himself. In his mind, once an enemy attacks him with the intent to kill, then that person has also accepted the possibility of their own death. If an informal battle ends with the assailant still living, Conall may what he can to preserve their life (or grant them a mercy killing to curtail a long painful death), but those who do perish are considered to have simply faced the consequences of their own decisions.
Even with his life on the line though, Conall avoids making use of the greenspear. The toxic effects of the spear's blades are terrible to behold, and typically he would not want even his enemies to suffer so. Nevertheless, when Conall senses that a pivotal battle is upon him, he utilizes the greenspear without hesitation. It is a finely crafted weapon and and he would be a fool not to use it in battles where he feels that he may be outclassed. To minimize the negative effects of the greenspear, Conall always carries a vial or two of antiplague on his person. This is used for the circumstances wherein an opponent does not perish from their wounds, but has succumb to the weapon's toxic effects. Rarely he might use the concoction for his own benefit, but it's primary use is to aid others. Conall refuses this courtesy only to his most hated opponents; those with no apparent redeeming features, circumstances, or dignity.
Conall regards all evil outsiders (whose lack of moral agency precludes empathy) as monsters to be destroyed, but he holds a special hatred in his heart for demons, due what their kind did to Sarkoris.

Sigmund Luckblessed |

He certainly isn't a fan of lying, but he wouldn't cut someone down for being a con artist. I think he would find it difficult to watch the innocent be swindled though and would find them untrustworthy at first. But that doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't work with a con artist towards a greater good and eventually form a bond of friendship.
