Azzerix is arrogant, self-centered, well-spoken, and proud of it all. He genuinely believes he is the reincarnation of a white dragon, and any possible challenge to this claim or contradiction is immediately thrown out the window when dealing with him. He simply will not accept the possibility, no matter the logic, and trying to convince him otherwise is a fool's errand. As such, Azzerix believes he is a lot more imposing and powerful than he really is - not that the magic he wields is anything to scoff at. He often takes on tasks because he believes it benefits him, and the concept of charity is a laughable notion to him. If one wishes for a dragon's help, they have to be ready to make it worth his while. His delusion twists any request into an obsequious prayer for his mercy, every action into a calculated plot to further his own plans and domain, and every ally is an "underling" that he has mercifully graced with his draconic majesty.
However, this also means that he is easy to manipulate into doing things, even without a reward. Stroking his ego and positing ways in which helping others would benefit him in the future is an easy way to motivate him, as is simply telling him that any hostile response is a slight to belittle his reputation. Once roused, Azzerix is hard to calm, hurling considerable amounts of magic at the object of his wrath. Yet, for all his posturing and arrogance, Azzerix is known to do things for no other reason than he perceives it as a slight against him and his power. And if one of his "underlings" genuinely asks for him to lend his magical prowess to a cause, he will put on a grand, ostentatious show of power, if for no other reason than to demonstrate why he is not to be trifled with.
