AAAWWWWSSSOOOOMMMEE!!

EDIT 2: Almost all done...
EDIT 3: Finished!
EDIT: If you're okay with very short-term spoilers, check the Roll20 Map! Your avatars are now being used! (Lower left corner)
If a wish automatically takes the route of least resistance, it also automatically takes the route of "not going to bite you just for being granted" (with specific exceptions that apply, based on the nature of the wish or wish-granter). I.e. wishes are not "traps" (unless the nature of the wish is inherently a trap, in which case I will likely ask if the player is sure...). This is not that kind of situation. That is all.

Schnorzel |

So I would take it that Rainbow husk is talking about the very tall sacrificial altar when she says she can only take 6 yes?
I think I can manage to finagle a way up there without other help though I suppose that will all depend if folks decide to chime in on wanting Husk to 'Beam 'em up'.

GM Tacticslion |

This is basically correct. It's difficult to get across, as too much dialogue is too much, and too little leaves you with no idea what the heck is going on. But: Rainbow-Husk can take along up to six... at a time... not including herself. She can do so a few times, but would prefer to keep at least some of her abilities.
All: I forgot to tell you, mostly because I'm a flake - treat your level-up process as if you'd gained a full night's sleep. Effectively eight hours. This means that Dijiron would likely mostly be furiously studying, while half-listening, scanning for things, and making comments.
Also, who, in the party, has knowledge (engineering)? (Save me time and effort of digging through each character sheet, as it's late and I'm lazy legitimately tired; yes.) :D

"Sunny" |

Also, who, in the party, has knowledge (engineering)?
Nup, Sunny dun't.
Also, is there a linky or summary to the room discretion? I losted it in all 'a posts.
Much cheers ta' all! (^_^)

Looks like Ceru, and Vitreous both actually have the skill.
Shaedo gets to make an untrained check if she desires on account of being a bard archetype that has not traded away Bardic Knowledge. (you still have that right?)
So.
Ceru
Knowledge (engineering) 1 rank +1 Master Tinker +1 Int = +3
Vitreous
Knowledge (engineering) +5 (1rank, +3 class, +1 int)
*Shaedo
Knowledge (engineering) +3 (0rank, +1 bardic, +2 int)
*may make untrained as a class ability
@sunny, the room I'm speaking about is on the RollD20 page. Tac has not had a chance to do his post updating to that room yet, but its coming up.
So minor spoilers but it will be described in the next big info post of Tac's so yeah.

Sorry for the delay in posting, trying to decide how to play this out. The romantic side of this gnome's nature is screwy and easy to work with when it fails, since that was sort of the idea. I think he knows deep down his antics are designed to make the girls laugh and not get real serious, commitment probably terrifies him.
While the color changing lady would totally help with his desire for excitement and the new, she has powers and understanding far beyond his ken and would be difficult for him to connect with.
Currently he sees the former Nugglet, as an opportunity to protect and care for as she seems more equal in terms of overall power to himself.
Basically he's frightened of powerful strong women who are much older and smarter than he is...
KN:Eng: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Ceru |

I actually forgot about that, bit yeah I bought the rank after the dream sequence to reflect her revelation.
Shaedo is a ninja with a weird homebrew archetype that gives her some bardlike abilities. Unless the archetype gives her bardic knowledge she shouldn't have it. A ninja with all the powers of a bard would be way too powerful, IMO.

"This means that Dijiron would likely mostly be furiously studying, while half-listening, scanning for things, and making comments."
So I can prepare my new spells and regain my spells per day, I assume. But I probably can't transcribe the spells from the tattoo.
Also thanks to that feat you gave me, I can make the knowledge engineering check but it isn't very good.

Ok, I get the reasoning in character... but I find it hilarious that Vitreous is leaning toward choosing Mrs. Undead Invincible Soul-stealer World-invader Harmor & Hammer-Chuck Nugglet ... because he's frightened of powerful, older, stronger women ... and he wants someone to care for and protect!

GM Tacticslion |

So, just reminding, you know, everyone that there is a certain revelation made in Ceru's post that absolutely no one rolled the requisite Perception check to learn (except for Ceru) from this post (a Perception check that does you no good unless you also speak Midori).
Hence, it may well be quite the drama bomb. It concerns Nuglet's status as a potentially-future widow, should you manage to finally go through with your plans...

Schnorzel |

@layla.
To use DC. Terminology far as I can tell vitreous has the options between a cassadra cain martial arts master type and the female rainbow reincarnation of Dr fricken Fate.
Louis lane quota is likely to be high for either of them but he at least has a chance of finding a balance while going along with nuglet.
Where as rainbow husk is always going to overshadow a mere mortal. Far as I can tell she was a full on god before being made mortal. Shes just a demigod now.
I could see the gnome doing well with either if he can get over his deeply set feelings of being inadequate and just striving the best he can.
Though I imagine our dapper gnome will grasp this concept eventually, I wl be amused to see where it ends off.
(Though full disclosure I hope it stays locked in a balancing act between the two for a while as the comedy potential is gigantic.)
@tac. Would schnorzel know about this referenced factor? On account of having known nuglet prior to her trip in a sarcophagus, I doubt she would have kept such a tid bit to herself when she could easily rub it in her underlings faces.
Perhaps not even know about, just know that there is something wrong with nuglet being ok with killing/dethroning jakk tornclaw.

GM Tacticslion |

Yes, Schnorzel would actually know. She didn't make the perception DC, but she would not be surprised by such a revelation.
EDIT: Point-in-fact, it was a really big deal at the time.
Coccam had been an increasingly popular, if technically blasphemous, cult among the Midori for some time. Many of the priestesses had even joined it, at least partially to sustain their own position by controlling the popular faith, though many privately held the idea that it was a passing fad and the "old ways" would return in time.
Nuglet was never a Biru (literally "Blue"), despite being born from a Biru mother (normal enough), but her status as descended from those lines afforded her some respect. She capitalized on that limited respect to forge her name in blood, brutality, and horrifying skill with the most ridiculous difficult-to-master weapon. From fear and brutality, she grew powerful; though not the most intelligent, she was far from dumb, and very canny, and successfully installed loyal people at various places in the tribe, using politics in ways few non-Biru do, to eventually acquire and hold the status of Keeper.
She was canny, exceedingly brutal to her foes, and exceedingly nice to her allies; to any else she was simply Keeper - the closest thing to law-enforcement to be had in a neutral evil goblin society. What made foe or ally was a matter of taste - that taste being exclusively hers - but once made, the category was not easily altered, and few people cared to be a foe the first several arrogant and open ones ended up part of the nightly feasts due to fair duels... or, in some cases, attempts to assassinate her while she slept. She was rightly feared.
Jakk was rising and notable just because, as a non-Biru and male, to become a priest was blasphemous enough. Most people weren't too worried, though: he soon married Nuglet after all who, as Keeper had her choice, and, being brutal as she was at the time, and rather vocally disinclined to believe any of the nonsense about i-g'o'b that Jakk Tornclaw was spewing, made most pretty sure that he wouldn't survive the week, especially after failing to please her long enough.
Instead, he killed her on their wedding night, adding a third blasphemy, and terrifying the ever-loving crap out of everyone, because no one could kill Nuglet previously.
Of course, all of his blasphemies were kind of negated when he gave her immortality, invincibility, and forced her to call him master, as he (literally) ate her heart in front of the tribe.
With that one act, he went from reviled cretin to more or less master of the tribe, as no one - no one - had the power to stand up to Nuglet, and her own guardsmen (including the burly Midori goblins Gob Smash fought in the tower) were too loyal and too numerous to do anything about anyway.
Those few who did challenge Nuglet were horrified when even the blows they did get in were... nothing. Leaving not a scratch. She'd become a monster... but a monster that everyone wanted to be.
And, it should be noted, Jakk Tornclaw made a lot of intriguing-sounding promises, and led the tribe to some notable success with his i-g'o'b medicine (divine magic). The fact that most of the priestesses who were not swayed became ever-more-convinced that his success was purely temporary was mostly ignored by people, and few priestesses dared say anything - other priestesses were convinced, after all, and if anyone could kill a priestess, it would be a priestess... and it would only be Coccam to feast on her, and shred her soul to pieces among the tribe by so-doing, as Biru were an unheard of (probably-tasty) delicacy.
Thus Jakk ascended, effectively unopposed, from reject to ruler in literally one night. His promises included feasting from two worlds, immortality for all, and power and wealth undreamed of from the Gohl'eeh-ath, once it was "theirs".
And at first, it seemed that this, too, would go well. You meditated among the stones, woke up in another world. There was the giant corpse, and you were given the honor of making the sacrifice. You entered the tomb, however, and everything went to <REDACTED>.
Should be finished, for now. Hope that helps.

Vitreous "Darling" Drimplegatto |

So. I apparently got a little bigger suddenly, hope the donkeys are OK.
Vitreous looks a bit like this now
Can I still mind speak, or am I also sorta unintelligent?
So if I have wings, can I fly?

Shaedo Silverpaws |

Gaah! I realize after submitting my game play post that we were all knocked out of the hallway, ya? Is there still ground to stand on, for Shaedo to set up the trick she has in mind, or is that all replaced by people desperately clinging to the edge of a pit on the other side? ...
Also, plan, good, yes?? We can make their 'god' appear a little early, and so maybe stop their ritual- tehehe!!

GM Tacticslion |

Hahahah!
You have eighty feet between the edge of the Pagoda's roof and the pit. You have ~65-75 feet from the end of the hallway to the edge of the Pagoda. The pit itself is almost as wide, and you can now see the stalactite/stalagmite riddled Mesa on the top as well as some distinctly non-Midori/non-goblin bodies chained to those stalactite/stalagmites, many of which are bleeding badly.
No one is in danger of falling off, though it's understandable how it could be worrisome. I apologize that it wasn't more clear.

"Sunny" |

GM Tacticslion |

I wish to clarify: Schnorzel, you (and all the donkeys) are also shoved out into the pagoda or just beyond it. The only creatures not moved out are Sunny, Horse, and the elemental carrying the throne.
Also, there is no particular reason not to continue with your own plan, Schnorzel... unless you don't want to. Either way... interesting developments abound.
In general, all, you may dictate whether you landed under the pagoda's roof (it's a really big roof) or beyond it.
No one takes any damage. Because I really don't feel like calc'ing all that random damage based on distance I'm so nice. :)

Shaedo Silverpaws |

Did Shaedo only have one invisibility left, or... did our dream count as rest, in which case, she would get all of her per-day abilities back. In which case, she could cast invisibility on Vitreous too, yes???
Anyone up for an unseen snake ride???

Shaedo Silverpaws |

Yay! Updating...
...
I just want to say, If anyone else has a plan- that would work with Shaedo's plan, or one that would perhaps be even better, Shaedo would be happy to cooperate! We got lots'a peoples with all sorts of awesome abilities.
Shaedo's trick is cooperative in nature- with Vitreous playing the star role ;) - and it probably won't stop them from fighting once they're attacked. However, it may buy us some time. A sudden appearance of their 'god' may momentarily stop them- as well as the ritual-hopefully, rather than merely draw fire.
During that time, one or two of us could sneak up by the priest, study and assassinate!
-As for transportation, is the giant snake's fly speed such that the whole party could be delivered rather than only most of us, with a couple left behind- with Rainbow Husk's teleportation? What we think?
*****************************************
EDIT: Updated Shaedo's resources..
EDIT2: I should also say, Shaedo wouldn't do the things in her most recent game play post without permission. If Vitreous is fond of his moustached snake look, and doesn't want a mask, then Shaedo would dismiss her illusion, or never cast it.
If everyone else is worried about the trick back-firing immensely, which is a possibility (yiii!), then Shaedo is happy to go along with the more straightforward plan of attacking with all we've got- and then maybe someone using the battle as cover to sneak around for the assassinate!

GM Tacticslion |

Vitreous is now huge and, as a result of his transformation (I believe) has a higher strength. His equipment has merged into him and become non-functional (but don't change your AC). These three things - lack of equipment, hug size, increased strength - vastly improve Vitreous' carrying capacity.
That said, he can only fly carrying his (new and improved) light load, as per normal with flight. If there are other rules, please let me know - I could be misremembering.
So Vitreous should be able to carry a couple of people. With Rainbow/Husk's magic and V's strength, you might be able to carry most everyone (though not the mounts) - you'll need to determine that yourselves.
Soon, Stone, at least, is going to wake up. (I'll need to check for Ooze).
Make decisions accordingly.
Currently, you have a few moments entirely unmolested... though Vitreous is now a giant snake.

Schnorzel |

While I continue to mull over how the heck schnorzel should respond to all this.
@Tac I was under the impression that Schnorzel had already exited the area due to fear of the green cloud before Vitreous was snakeafied.
But if it gets her away from the horrible green gas that's she is likely entirely fine with this.
have a cute little toy to avoid that math snarl entirely.
CC Calc
Hrmm.. can I not link java?
Nope, guess not.
*eye roll*
http://rimzy.net/tools/javascript_pathfinder_carrying_capacity_calculator.h tm
But to save some trouble Snaktrious has a starting STR of 17. A huge creature gets a size boost of +8. (far as I can tell. is he using the Animal shape to huge or is he under the effects of magical beast shape just larger than the Spell can actually provide?)
So he has a STR score of 25 and is now huge.
This means his light load is currently 1064 pounds due to the multiplicative nature of size category carrying increases.

GM Tacticslion |

That's awesome, Schnorzel! Thanks!
Now to hunt down some info...
...
M'kay!
After finding this post, with Paizo's tendency to prefer backwards compatibility in lieu of direct input, I'd suggest he'd also count as a quadruped, meaning his carrying capacity increased to:
Light 1596 lbs. or less
[3198 medium]
[4800 heavy]
Vitreous, you may wish to update your profile accordingly.
So... how much do people weigh, exactly...?
>:D
EDIT: I was originally going to suggest, as a preliminary, to look at the medium sized races, and heavier small-sized races (ratfolk and gnomes), to go with Rainbow/Husk. After looking into it, that means Sunny, Beylinda, Dijiron, Ceru, and Nuglet.
The lighter races can ride on Vitreous, barring specific reasons to do so. That means Shaedo - you use the Halfling weights, as Kitsune are naturally at the lower end of medium weights, though not the lowest - Layla, and Schnorzel.
Now, that said, with only Shaedo, Layla, and Schnorzel, Vitreous' new-found carrying capacity is nowhere near full - it really doesn't matter how hefty the three of them are, even with all of their equipment, and it doesn't matter if V uses a quadruped capacity or not: those three simply do not and cannot add up to over 1k of stuff.
EDIT 2: Races by weight:
Medium:
- Aasimar/Beylinda [100-170 lbs]; max load 100 lbs
- Elf/Sunny [96-126 lbs]; max load 100 lbs
Small (heavy):
- Gnome/Ceru-Nuglet [32-38 lbs]; max load 75 lbs./???
- Ratfolk/Dijiron [71-89 lbs]; max load 60 lbs.
Small (light):
- Goblin/Schnorzel [27-33 lbs.]; max load 75 lbs.
- Halfling/Layla [27-33 lbs.]; max load 131 lbs.
- Kitsune/Shaedo [27-33 lbs.]; max load 60 lbs.
That, in total, presuming maximum weight of everyone and everything, is 1161 - and you guys are no where near the heaviest for your races (especially Schnorzel), and are not near your carrying capacity; Vitreous can literally carry everyone and all of their stuff, except for the mounts and Rainbow.
EDITED for adding Schnorzel - sorry, I thought I'd already included her, and had not.

Ceru |

While I appreciate the reassurance that I am not of low intelligence, I find I am still challenged now on another matter....
Shaedo keeps talking about attacking/distracting/interrupting the priest, but I haven't seen any posts (at least directed to me, I haven't read other people's spoilers) that indicate we have encountered him yet? Did I miss something?

GM Tacticslion |

No. She is just planning ahead.
There was talk that he was in the midst of a ritual on top of the mesa (one of the long "blah-blah-blah" moments buried under text).
She is planning on disrupting said ritual when you get there.
Rainbow/Husk has offered to use her power to bring you all there - she can carry up to six.
Now Vitreous can carry everyone.

Schnorzel |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

with average weight for a female goblin as 30-ish I'm guessing that Schnorzel is closer to 20 pounds on account of her recent encounter with near death via starvation.
That and she has about 25ish pounds of gear I think.
I am pretty sure that if we don't count in the donkeys that even eyeballing upwards Vitreous in snake form can easily carry the entire party across the chasm right now.
Too bad nobody has Ant haul, that would just remove the need entirely. (and also permit Snake-trious to carry two tons of crap for funzies.
LOOT ALL THE THINGS!

GM Tacticslion |

New suggestion. I am going to bring this up in-character, but am mentioning it ooc here, so that people can think of it now and come up with responses.
Vitreous' unexpected transformation and strength increase (seriously - he had the chance to become a tiny critter, too; this is shockingly perfect) is exceptionally convenient for story reasons, and I think I'm going to rescind Rainbow/Husk's offer of transportation.
I believe that she will, instead, go with one or more of those who are not currently playing and have effectively (though possibly temporarily) dropped out, in order to create a different effect entirely. I had other plans for them, but as this cropped up, as a GM, I am thinking that taking the opportunity to both enhance the story and remove non-players, however temporarily, is ideal.
I would like your ooc-reactions to this idea, but also am mentioning to allow you to have a semi-prepared in-character-reaction as well - no prepared specific responses, as she hasn't said anything yet, but just something to the idea in general.

Schnorzel |

You mean the spider Gandalf wizard is going to deal with some other problems while the hobbits predominately small sized party go off and deal with some other problem?
Perhaps she is off to fight a giant flaming totallynotoutofcontrolBalrog lava elemental that Schnorzel might or might not be at fault for.
*chuckle* with the number of PC's we have in this group I have absolutely no issues with reducing the number of NPCs to make things slightly easier for the sake of a big ol' boss fight.

GM Tacticslion |

(Less Gandalf, and more the two blue wizards.)
Also, not exactly. There are other things that I've had planned from the beginning that no one has investigated. Since she is here, unlike what was originally planned, I can still avoid some serious problems/repercussions/other things, despite the party completely overlooking several important things.
Of course, there is less reward involved this way, but, hey, that's how it goes sometimes. :)
Also, despite what you may think of here, there are definite and solid reasons that she doesn't just end this stuff by herself...
EDIT (re-posted with faint editing from something else): To be clear, I'm not offended or upset, in the slightest by any implications - purposeful or otherwise - of the relative power of the NPC.
But, lest you think she should just end things... well, she was trapped behind a simple iron grate, despite all her power as an undead spider.
Interesting, that... almost like I knew what she could or couldn't be able to do and why she would need Gob Smash One the whole time...
;)

Shaedo Silverpaws |

I like the idea of keeping the PCs together for this main fight. I was kinda concerned with how we would choose which six of the PCs would go with Rainbow Husk. Glad Vitreous went big instead of tiny! ;)

Ceru |

I am very cool with having the not-here-at-least-right-now-players go off with the NPC. If anything, I think it will make it a heck of a lot easier to pay attention to my fellow party members without trying also to keep track of who else is there.
