Gob Smash One

Game Master Tacticslion

They be goblins, you be food... why are they so weird, dude?

That's what the W.D.G.F.F. (Western Duchy Goblin Fighting Force) first Reconnaissance and Strike Crew, aka "Gob Smash One" (that's you) have been sent to find out, in the barren mana wastes beyond the edge of the Duchy near the border of Geb in an ancient abandoned outpost called Hightower...

Bot-bot! Update! (Several haven't posted actions, yet, but update anyway!)

Secondary Counter: 6/6 - FINISHED!

Tertiary Counter: 9/9 - FINISHED!

GM:
Lightning Weirds (eight of them) [complete]
- The last blightning: 25 hit points
- Three are writhing helpless
- The others are destroyed
Vitreous: smashes the pillar
Sunny: runs, helping as she can
Schnorzel: stands, laughing maniacly
Shaedo: continues singing and inspiring... while getting away
Layla: after throwing things, helps lead people away
Ooze: briefly dominated/commanded, has brought many Midori to safety
Stone: rushes over to assist General Narahi
Psi-dish 37 hp; 37-9=28 hp remaining: wounded, hastens away with his new... "allies"?
Dijiron: goes with the rest
Ceru: leads the group away from the pagoda
Beylinda 24 hp; 24-18=6 hp remaining: wounded, she retreats with everyone else
Burninator
???

With the destruction of most of the blightnings, the rain of holy water from the skies, the sweeping of the Midori, and the hastening of Gob Smash One and their friends and allies, the heroes bravely flee, protecting the innocent victims, as Vitreous stays behind to help destroy the pillar!

Updating two rounds worth of actions, due to general chaos and trends set by this point, as well as the fact that, for all intents and purposes, it seems combat is over - the only enemies "left" are unable to get out of a pit (zombies), or hiding from you in a method that would take more than two rounds to pin down (the last blightning). Presume that, if your character would have chosen to help someone specific, unless noted otherwise, they have. If something seems out-of-character, chock it up to the madness of "organizing" so many.

NOTE: Though it takes a bit of absorption and concentration on information from their friends, Layla, Dijiron, Ceru, and Vitreous are all able to retroactively work out what it was they saw Narahari "praying".

NOTE: The only Spellcraft spoiler that was successfully identified is done by Dijiron's and Schnorzel's minds (as well as Beylinda's, Shaedo's, and Psi-dish's aiding them) running information to, through, and past each other madly, almost subconsciously - Dijiron and Schnorzel can reveal the final, DC 28 Spellcraft result.

Map Update!

Over the course of the next two rounds, everyone manages to get close to the tunnel exit, with the exception of the inwardly-collapsing Schnorzel and the mesa-pounding Vitreous.

With a last, mighty *THWACK!* Vitreous smashes into the pillar with all of his might and it proceeds to *CRACK!* and *CRACK-CRACK!* under the weight of the earthquake effect and his mighty assault! It's collapsing... along with the cavern!

As he backs off from the mesa, however, Rainbow mutters an apology, as she hacks up two more cards, all of which, caught on unnatural air-currents, flutter towards and stick to Vitreous.

DC 25 Perception:
One has the image of raging flames, and the other has the image of a cyclone.

A mighty, enormous living whirlwind of fury and hatred appears and suddenly assaults Vitreous!

Everyone except the Gol'ee-ath is ~200 ft. away.

New Primary Counter: 0/2
New Secondary Counter: 4/5 - Surprise, this one's almost done!

Suddenly, Narahari's head whips up. In your heads you hear a, "She's really going to to it?! Oh, that sore-losing clever little-" from Narahari, before she's cut off by the floor beneath you quacking and cracking! Narahari clings to her mount, desperately and in pain, seemingly stunned by it all. As the floor begins to crack and fracture, and small pieces of the ceiling begin to fall around you all, you all have a brief chance to act before "it" happens... whatever "it" is!

Go, heroes! Go, Gob Smash One!

The massive Gol'ee-ath turns its eyes upon the gnome from Golarion. She feels the burning gaze.

"STOP PUSHING, ALREADY!" he says, quietly (for him).

Ceru jumps in fright at the booming (even if quiet for him) voice, nearly a distance as high as her own height, and then jumps again as she realizes the massive creature is addressing her.

She looks in front of her, utterly confused, and particularly at her own hands, to see what she could possibly be pushing. Seeing nothing, she stammers, with tears of confusion in her eyes, "I-I'm sorry!" and just runs away faster.

Bot-bot! Update!

New Primary Counter: 1/2

New Secondary Counter: 5/5 - Surprise, this one's almost done! Finished!

As most of Gob Smash One and their friends and allies bravely flee, protecting the innocent victims, Vitreous stays behind to help destroy the pillar and defend against the whirlwind, Schnorzel leaping to help, and Sunny running to protect Schnorzel!

By the end of this round, everyone who's fleeing (all except Schnorzel, Sunny, and Vitreous) manages to get into the crevasse which does, indeed, look like it extends into a winding tunnel or four. Anyone with dungeoneering or survival (or both), this may your time to shine... Further, those who are in the cave, unless they have a ranged attack of 70 or more can't get back to the "fighting" this round. In any event, I shan't be describing this flight in much detail in this post, as there's only so many ways you can say "You safely navigate the shaking, earthquake-stricken cavern to get into the crevasse tunnel!"... speaking of which...

Those who were fleeing, at last safely navigate the shaking, earthquake-stricken cavern to get into the crevasse tunnel! Glancing back, they see several of their friends and allies rushing to meet the danger!

"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH~!" states the burning giant, pleasantly, "THE DIAL'S SHADOW HAS SHIFTED TO NOW!"

Sense Motive:
"Welp! It's time! Finally."

"पञ्च" he says.

Schnorzel rushes with super-Midori speed (having been just as affected by the 'haste-like' effect as the others, earlier, just not having used it until now) toward the gap, whirlwind, and Vitreous. Seeing this, Sunny, too, runs, yelling for her friend to stop!

"चतुर्" the giant intones, boomingly.

Schnorzel arrives in time to make a jab at the thing... which splits into two enormous whirlwinds!

"तिस्रः" the giant bellows.

The first wind rolls a ball of solid air at Vitreous twice, successfully slaming into the changed snake-gnome, hard, on the second time! (Damage: 2d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 8) + 9 = 21)

As the second attempts to squish Schnorzel flat, Sunny dives in front of her friend, narrowly pushing Schnorzel out of the way of the new, second whirlwind's devastating slam! The thing splits again, for a total of three whirlwinds!

"द्वे " it almost seems like a sacred chant, if it wasn't so terrifyingly loud.

The last blightning, rounds the column, coming in for a mad rush attack... and misses the little Midori and tall island elf, instead accidentally slamming into their aggressor... who gets really, really mad! And the whirlwinds produce a fourth mighty wind!

" एकम्" the giant says.

A sound kind of akin to tolling bells - eeriely enough within your soul and head instead of from bells - rings, powerfully across the cavern.

" शून्य "

Evil necromantic lightning gathers radiating forth from the pillar.

Three creatures, one all tentacles and ether, another oozing with pestilence and disease, and the last bearing the appearance of death itself, yet all strangely familiar, writhe up from the edge of the pit, crawling across the piles of shambling corpses of the once-midori who'd died before Gob Smash had saved them with their wishes.

All three of these are small-sized creatures, instead of the normal sizes for such...

"At last, your gambit is revealed." says the giant, surprisingly quietly. Shockingly so. This somehow seems more frightening than his normal bellow.

The one with the face of death speaks, "Come, thou departed." Despite the quiet of his voice, all can hear him, perfectly. "Come, thou flesh that is mine. I am your master."

The fiend oozing nastiness speaks as well, its horrifyingly raspy voice just as quiet, yet just as carrying, "cOmE, tHoU pEsTiLeNcE. tHoU dIsEaSeD oF mInD oR fLeSh. I aM yOuR mAsTeR."

The fiend of tentacles speaks last, its voice moving like an eel - or tentacle - through the water of your mind. "come, thou spirits. come, thou souls whove shed their bodies. i am your master."

Though terrifying, there's something about each of them... something... off... something... weak... There is no question that these are extremely dangerous, terrifying creatures... but there is malaise, and a frailty to their actions. Almost as if just about anything at all could push them over the edge into destruction...

The last of the green mist evaporates in the central pit, and a terrifying rumble can be heard... it is uncertain whether it's the hunger of some massive creature or the implosion or grinding of stone underground.

The column in the center of the enormous cave begins to crack and rattle. Pieces of the stone begin to transform into... into flesh... as blood and diseased clouds ooze and boil forth from some of the cracks, pus set afire by the waiting magic inside, and becoming seared by the necromantic lightning now attempting to re-surge into power...

At that moment, in Midori, a gnome - Nuglet, the Keeper, the once-Dark Knight of Jakk Tornclaw, reincarnated into a gnome - shouts out...

Midori:
"Schnorzel! I know we've our differences! But let me be part of this bargain with the Gol'ee-ath! Please! You must let me do this! I can help!"

... and then bows her head whispering in prayer.

DC 20 Perception to those heading into the cave near her:
"Oh, great Gol'ee-ath, keeper of my people, long thought lost, but gracious defender and protector even as we have failed and left you, I pray, give me the power to defend my loved one, and allow me to come to his side, I beg, to protect him and these people from those vile winds who seek their destruction. This is my wish - that I may guard him and be by his side always, and that we all may survive this calamity, one way or the other!"

Dijiron, and anyone he tells, mentally:
Congraturations! A winner is you! However, these three are remarkably... short... for such creatures (all are small-sized), and, though they seem infused with extra unholy power of some sort, they are also clearly weakened somehow beyond their mere size reduction. You're under the impression that they are all extremely weak indeed... for now. Based on a follow-up Knowledge (arcana) and Knowledge (religion) roll <I've just made these>, you realize that weakness is directly caused by the successful disruptions to the earlier ritual.[/ooc]

Also, these creatures are likely the reincarnated remains of a few destroyed blightnings and one mortal creature dropped on them... and your Perception (with scent) specifically picks up the all-too-overwhelming musk of the recently very-deceased Jakk Tornclaw mixed in with all of this... stuff....

In any event, how permenant this weakness is, or what, exactly, it is, remains unclear at present - your Heal check is not high enough. It is High enough to Aid Another, if you so choose.

Alas, unless someone Aids your Other (to make a combined Knowledge DC of 27), you don't get any information on the tentacled one, save what is noted above. You may automatically be presumed to be Aid Another'ing anyone else's Heal check for more information.

Dijiron of course relays the information to everyone he can. Daemons. Foul abominations even by fiendish standards. These three seemed to have been weakened by our efforts thankfully. Dispatching them is now possible though it will likely not be easy.

Schnorzel stands from prone giving a look equal parts confusion and frustration to Sunny, still not able to grasp the creatures desires to save her broken self.

With that she turns to the fiend of Tentacles and glares at the creature, tendrils and deformed bat ears flapping as a surruss again follows her voice.
"Thou defeated thrice, who has taken that which is unearned and defiled all idols in the name of power. Jakk Tornclaw, Coward, Deceiver, Betrayer. Give me that which you machinations have stolen, return to me that which was lost in my heartfelt desires to aid you before I discovered your nature."
The Midori grits teeth and raises one fist in anger.
"Give me the soul lost to the winds which permits this body to walk this plane without crubling.[Bigger]Give me back my Name High Priest!"
Schonrzel has the idea that her body is one of the dead ones down below, the reason the Necromanticly created puppet which she now pilots hasn't collapsed here is due to that absence. She is the ghost of a Goblin that has nearly died once and truly died as well. So she is trying to rip that out of the Soultaker Jakk thing. She could very easily be entirely wrong. In which case she is likely going to get eaten now. Likely would have been the same result but meh.
