"Let's at least get our plan in place. We might rest at the ship and fly over in the morning, but if we're walking, we might get started today. I dunno just how far it is really - or what lies between us at the router."

"But sure, we can rest after we have a plan. I need to do some work on Messalina anyway, she's still a little dinged up."

Setting a plan in place the group decides to head back to speak with Herald Tzayl and formulate a plan. As you return to the Cloudside Condominiums you find the Herald patting a smaller, younger Kish on the head as they continue to play their game in the rubble strewn yard, using portions of the collapsed building as obstacles in their game. The children give a small cheer as they notice The Zane again and rush to have him join. He gets more than a peculiar look as many begin to notice his extra eye floating about on his forehead.

Herald Tzayl approaches. "I trust that all went well in the House of renewal and Maze of Ghosts. Your pilgrimage brought you healing and my ancestors answered your visions?"

slight rewind[ At the museum, when everyone is done, Zane moves back into the entryway. He looks at his sharpie, then at the blood oozing out of the snake-like creature. He starts to reach down to maybe dip his sword in the blood, but then looks back at the thick tipped sharpie.
Making some internal decision, he goes to the wall and scrawls something فريق الدم و الغضب ويسمع

Upon returning to the Condominiums, Zane tries to act normal. Tries to just pick up a ball and let the smarter bunch of guys handle the plans and what-nots. He is excited as the children cheer for Zane. He likes and expects that - the rush to a celebrity of his status.
What he doesn't like is the focus on the extra eye.
Zane looks like he's uncomfortable.

After an off setting and pregnant pause.

He does eventually grab a ball and start onto the court.
He doesn't even realize it, because his mind is thinking about celebrity and celebrity status, but he says the words to the kids in Kish.

Though the plastic smile never leaves his android features, Dash is annoyed. The crew has flown across the galaxy to a backwater planet in an endless search for missing emails, or something, the locals wouldn’t know good music if it poked them i their third eye, and no one even thanked him, and his enhanced intellect, for figuring out the flaw in the Mayor’s programming and deleting the runaway homicidal hologram.

With all the focus on a little snake and a suddenly indivisible drone, it’s like he wasn’t even there.

Ignoring Herald Tzayl, Dash thumbs in the direction of their ship.

”I’m taking a shower, then a nap. Then, if the local tree huggers don’t mind, let’s fly to the next location. I don’t know if my sanity could handle another jungle safari.”

”Ah yes, we learned much. Uh, do you have a map of the area by chance? Something current? Particularly off that way.” he gestures in the direction of the router, hoping Herald has something useful. If he produces something, Abe tries to triangulate the location of the router and locate a decent landing zone nearby.

When he’s sorted out the map situation, hopefully successfully, he too heads back to the ship. He tinkers with Messalina a little, fixing her up further before getting some rest himself.

As most of the crew heads back to the ship to rest Abe listens to Herald Tzayl as the elder Kish looks over the map. "That there is what is known as the Broken Lands." Located in the Tactical Maps upper north west corner. He taps on the maps area and motions for you to follow him up to the roof.

Standing on the roof the Herald points to the distance where a cluster of a small chain of islands floating in the area, separate from the metropolis proper. "Only foolhardy kish youth wishing to impress a potential mate make the perilous journey across the shattered hunks of land. The buildings in the Broken Lands are “angry,” Kish entering them are never to be seen again." Her warning must be dire indeed as She recently told you that both the Maze of Ghosts and House of Renewal would pose no threat or harm and yet both tried to kill you in it's own misplaced way.

He takes a tight high-res picture of the map and makes his thanks to Herald Tzayl and heads back to their ship. He lets everyone know what he found before locking things up and turning in to get some sleep.

In the morning, he'll display the map on the main screen so Dash has a reference as he guides the ship. He superimposes a marker nearest where he thinks the router might be.

He then takes up his position in engineering and checks the ships systems and long range scanners.

Zane enjoys the presence of his friends

Abe leaves the Herald's Sanctum and sees Zane still on the playground. But, he's not playing. He's squatting down with a circle of Kish kids around him. His hand swirling around with that good ole' Sharpie marking up the concrete (off the playing field of course as a playing field is a holy consecrated sanctuary).
Abe hears him say,
As soon as Team B&F gets youz some internet here on Planet Kish, you will want to use this Galacast address to go to Draka's Streamcast of Team Blood and Fury. THEN, and this is important for you, use this code to bypass those stupid parental controls that they have on the site.
giving an aside, he speaks in a different language, and waves to the younger children.

Kish:

then , not knowing he switched languages, he jumps back to normal.
AND THIS code gets you into the Additional Content sections. good stuff there.

Zane shows back up at the ship 15 minutes later. Looking around for low hanging hats or Rambo headscarves that might help hide the extra eye. He does that before going off to sleep.

Herald Tzayl watches in fascination as Abe takes high resolution photos of the area and marvels at such a feat. "Please, if you do manage to return I would wish to hear of your travels." The Kish smiles.

The children look confused at The Zane. "Internet?" They obviously have little clue of the vast technology surrounding them as it seems to have been forgotten numerous generations ago.

Heading back to the ship he finds the crew resting comfortably and begins digging through Draka's collection of scarves and hats. Unfortunately all he can find that fits his human head, as her much larger Vesk frame makes it difficult, is a large adjustable pirate eye patch from an old Halloween episode of the videocast.

*****

Come morning the crew looks over the photos and inlays. Fortunately, the router signal seems to come from one of closer islands of the Broken Lands, and a number of small, rocky islets lead up to it. The first islet is 40 feet from the “shore” and 5 feet higher in altitude. The next two islets are each 30 feet from the one before, though each is 10 feet higher in altitude than the last. The island with the router is 50 feet from the last islet, but at the same elevation.

While the floating chunks don't look near big enough to land the Sunrise Maiden it could possibly be brought close enough to the floating island for a brief period for the rest of the crew to leap from the airlock below. Though then the pilot would have to figure out how to get to the router island themselves and also how exactly to extract the crew when the time comes. All of this will come with planning in the morning.

Vetch looks over the photos and tries to make sense of it all.

”It’s like they had no central planning, no sense of digital architecture at all. Who puts the digital randomizes right next to the pattern interference matrix!?” Vetch’s tiny palm runs down his face. ”And these routers...these routers seem to be designed to be the in worst possible alignments to allow them to actually...you know...route.”

He looks again at the inlays.

”I think we go this way, then that way, right? But I’m not sure i can both fly in and get in with you. What we need is something...” Vetch looks for ideas.

That is brilliant Dash!

Abe looks at the lay of the land and worries. "Yeah, I don't see a way for all of us to make it together. Unless one of you can fly?" he looks to the spell casters, wondering if such a feat is possible.

"What this ship needs is a flying car for this sort of thing. Something small we can store in the cargo hanger, but which lets us scoot around on this sort of mission." I don't see anything like that available - do any of you?

"I can access the ships computers over a decent range, but I can't fly remotely. I wonder if a control module would allow for such a thing in the future. Might be possible..." Abe drifts off, dreaming of remote piloting the Sunrise Maiden.

The distances are possible for Zane to jump.... well some or most of them.
Draka has jump jets right?
Maybe Zane can pilot Sunrise to drop you off and them land and jump to the location?

He whistles when thinking of a 50 foot jump!

Zane goes out and tries a bunch of test high jumps and broad jumps to see how the gravity affects him.

When the Zane suggests jumping the gaps, he shakes his head. ”Nice distance, but you’d still come up way f@#%ing short, and jump jets don’t have the range either. Knew I should’ve upgraded to a jetpack. We have a spellgem of flight, but we only have one spellgem of flight. I’ve got a titanium cable. Draka was eager to share her fashion items and tips, but seems disappointed The Zane didn't add a neon-bright feather boa to his new style. Regardless, the vesk gives her co-star a scaly thumbs-up. The reptilian thinks the shiny dome is a nice improvement.

"Draka can jump high. Draka have jump jets." To illustrate her point, the vesk flies up 30 feet into the air for 6 seconds (one round) then lands back on the ground. Draka's lands gracefully, bending her knees slightly on impact. "The Zane and Draka jump high enough?" Draka lifts a pointed claw to her mouth. The red paint matches her generous lipstick. "Maybe The Zane use Draka jump jets?" The vesk offers her equipment in an outstretched hand and pulls out her Comm unit to record in the other. She's seems interested in watching The Zane carry out more reckless tasks.

The vesk is lost on some of the lingo Dash and Abe use. Draka is immersed in her fashion and make-up. She isn't interested in computers or technology, but knows enough to make a living as a VidTube star. Therefore, Draka remains largely tech-illiterate during the conversation. "Too bad Draka can't call Yoober. Draka have app," she adds lamely.

"I don't want to leave you behind if we can help it Vetch. We might need your mouth-grenades."

Your destination is an establishment called SecuriTech.

DC 30 Culture:
SecuriTech provided alarms and digital locks for many of Istamak’s businesses, including the Foundry. In addition to fielding calls from clients, the employees of SecuriTech would debug these locks or add new features, though most of the physical components were manufactured off-site. The building was abandoned after the accident that created the Broken Lands and it no longer has power.

Draka and Dash dive out of the aircraft and glide gently to the ground along with Messalina. The Zane and Abe are a bit more cautious as they tumble and roll to the ground as Vetch safely pilots the Sunrise Maiden within range without scraping any of the larger chunks of isle against the hull. Though many smaller pieces continue to clink against it like drops of rain.

A smooth path runs past an overgrown lawn to the entrance of this drab building. The knee-high blue-and-green grass smells sweet, like honey warming in the sun. The structure’s walls are shot through with barely perceptible white filaments webbing across the entire surface.

This is a tiered check.

DC 25 Life Science:
You identify the filaments as a kind of mold; while breathing air near the mold might have negative long term health consequences for anyone unprotected, the environmental protections of your armor should filter out any of its spores.

DC 30 Life Science:
You recognize that the mold is one massive colony and, having grown to this size, it might be able to defend itself if it perceives an attack.

DC 20 Engineering:
The filaments are acting as a kind of structural support, keeping the walls of the building from collapsing in on themselves.

You certainly can see them Vetch.

Dash and Vetch both recognize these creatures as Daelns. Similar to the barathus that live on Bretheda and Liavara, daelns are large, floating, living sacs of gas that vaguely resemble jellyfish. They drift through Nejeor VI’s upper atmosphere, absorbing the minerals within the clouds
and secreting concentrated masses of materials they can’t digest; these droppings look like fist-sized stones and are sometimes laced with valuable metals. Daelns have animallevel intelligence and were considered pests by the kishalee cloud miners, though modern daelns are several magnitudes smaller than those from many millennia ago.

A barathu’s body is extremely mutable and can adapt to respond to virtually any situation. Extreme adaptations ranging from DR to increased damage to increased reach.

Barathus can combine to work together as parts of a larger organism. They can merge together combining HP and increasing in size. Alternately they can split, redistributing hp evenly once again.

Finally Barathus are Amorphous. The creature’s body is malleable and shapeless. It does not take double damage from critical hits, but it is affected by critical hit effects normally.

Dash and Zane both get a clear shot into the sac of gas. The laser beam ingites a portion of the gas as a spurt of fire bursts free sending the Daeln spinning in a circle.

Vetch targets the twin laser turrets at the giant, bloated airbag (the daeln, not Zane), having the computer help him aim the turret. When he gets lock, he fires.

1d20 + 8 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 6 + 2 = 27 to hit;
5d8 ⇒ (6, 2, 8, 1, 6) = 23 laser damage.

if starship weapons are ever brought to bear against buildings or people, they deal Hit Point damage equal to 10 × their listed amount of damage. However, starship weapons are never precise enough to target a single individual (or even small group). Let's say 50% miss chance.

Miss chance; low is good: 1d100 ⇒ 7

Abe's laser rifle pierces the wounded Daeln's gas sac causing another gout of flammable gas to escape. These flares show on Vetch's screen and he is able to lock onto the Daeln furthest away and sets his sights on it with the twin laser turrets. The turrets rip right through the creature, nearly disintegrating it as a sizzling pop is hear. Small bits of blackened flesh float down to the filaments below.

That was 230 damage from the twin laser turret.

Floating high overhead the wounded Daeln craps a pellet from it's underside down onto Abe.

”Triune’s left lugnut!” Dash exclaims when Vetch totally overkills the cosmozoan “space jelly”. Activating his iComm, he transmits to the ship. ”Careful of the structure Vetch, it’s covered in mold that I’d rather not piss off.”

Vetch is about to aim and fire again, but then logs off the combat computer when the final foe falls.

Zane enjoys the presence of his friends

Zane puts a " half" chalk mark on Bubba, and slings it back into his shoulder holster.
He then saunters up to the doors. With two free hands. Pulling at it, to open the stadium to his team.
While doing all this, his mouth opens and he lets out a peppy rhyme that cuts short.
When there's a need to fetch
Just call on Vetch
When there's a need to do some raid'in
Just call on the Sunrise Maiden!

To just open the door...
