Inflict them with yet more paranoia! Mwahaha!
... Well, you can tell I GM. But yeah, your RotR game is one of the ones I'm quietly stalking, because I do that. RotR is also one of the APs I've been intrigued by for awhile, though I have to say that it does show that it was their first one.

Nicholas Sparrow |

Being newish to PbP, I took on some new players to give them a chance. So far, so good. The ruins they're at aren't even in the book, just a community add on.
The discussion thread is so quiet there, though. I think this game has made me spoiled. :)
And cool! I'm being stalked!

Aerel Thelon |

Oh, I meant it shows that it was Paizo's first AP - I can't actually tell that your players are new - they're doing great. :D
That said, I don't generally stalk folks' discussion threads. It's not as interesting to me as an outsider. xD
EDIT: Speaking of this game, do we want to split the party? I would say that we shouldn't, but it does make some sense within the context of the situation.

Marvel Manyshot |

I don't think that'd be wise in a riot. As I said - I don't quite see the need to get rid of the prisoners right away. Even if one of them should wake up, he'll be practically naked and at 1 HP :-)
I'm guessing we'll want to go to the guard together, deliver the children to an orphanage and hand in the queen's brooch - though Shaeda might leave before that. After that it seems natural to split up and check in on family, friends and the like.

Marvel Manyshot |

So probably till we have delivered the prisoners to the guard, and the children to the orphanage. By then something else will probably have popped up to distract us - we might be taken into custody due to having the brooch and accused of killing the king or something XD

Nicholas Sparrow |

So, Esmeranda's place first I guess. We'll probably end up with a hook before we even need to drop off the bodies.

Nicholas Sparrow |

Rocks fall, everybody dies. Perfect hook every time.

Nicholas Sparrow |

And I'm still occasionally posting with the wrong alias. Xp

Aerel Thelon |

I may be losing access to my computer for a few days, so I will be a bit slow to post for the next few days. I should still have my phone, but still, it'll be slow going.

Nicholas Sparrow |

Step Two to Surviving RPG's: Befriend the Cleric. Always befriend the Cleric.
Step One is of course to Never Split the Party.

Nicholas Sparrow |

Easier to do with Calistria. No one wants to be on her bad side, afterall.

Aerel Thelon |

I've updated my spells for the following day. Mostly nonlethal options, which of course means we'll be fighting imps or something.

Marvel Manyshot |

Unfortunately it looks like I won't have time to continue playing. I've been forced to modify the empirical phase of my ph.d. project heavily due to unforseen political situations in both the Faroe Islands and Iceland, which increases my workload quite a lot the next year or so. At the same time my wife's firm is getting unexpectedly many orders, which of course is awesome, but also means she has to work quite a few evenings while I take care of the girls, the house and such.
Therefore I will have to cut down on a good few things I do, to ensure I still have enough energy to focus on my daughters (and count to ten if milk is all over the floor or a wall suddenly has gotten lots of new "art").
I quite enjoy playing, but looking ahead in my schedule I will be forced to stop soon or become VERY unstable in regards to when I post, so I think it is better to stop now, while a new player still can join and catch most of the story, and Marvel has a natural reason to leave with his daughter and focus on getting his family back in order.

Aerel Thelon |

Yeah, it seems like Marvel would be easily able to say that he wanted to go to his family, etc.

GM Kamro |

Kamro, are you wanting to recruit someone new? We have a respectable point to do so.
Yeah, thinking about that now. There were plenty of candidates who might be worth following up on, so I need to open up the list and look into it.
We're at a nice break point in the action right now, so now would be a good time to find someone. Hope nobody minds if things slow down for a couple of days, since you never know how quickly people will respond to PMs. Hopefully it won't take long, and in the meantime feel free to RP if you like.

Marvel Manyshot |

Thanks for understanding and the well wishes - I really would like to keep on playing, but even though the politician I elected last time to parliament promised me to add an extra 2 - 4 hours to the day, she hasn't fulfilled her pledge so far!
Who knows, we might meet again in some game once my ph.d. is finished, the girls are that much older and I have a bit more time again. Until such a time - good playing, may the dice be with you and hopefully things will go well in real life :-)

Nicholas Sparrow |

Hope you do well, and as Nicholas said, cherish that family of yours! That's most important. May the dice be ever in your favour!

Jamir Underfoot |

Hello all, thank you for the opportunity to play in this campaign with all of you and I hope that I can keep it fun, without jarring anything by having a new person enter the group.

Jamir Underfoot |

Unfortunately due to going with the Roof Runner Archetype, I will not be able to deal with Traps as easily as other Rogues. I can still open locks, etc though.

Aerel Thelon |

Yeah, that can be a bit of an issue, but I'm sure we'll figure something out.
Warpriests have access to the cleric spell list, right? There's a Find Traps spell that clerics can prepare, if ever we're really concerned about traps.
It'll be good to have someone with disable device, though. We had to break into Lamm's lair... rather loudly.

Jamir Underfoot |

My Disable Device is a +12, I have always been a fan of getting in without people knowing. I am assuming he had a bunch of followers who came at the sound of the noise and you had a huge fight?
I can always take Trap Spotter in a few levels, although my Perception score is abysmal.

GM Kamro |

My policy with stuff like this is that it's more important to let people play what they want and have fun than check off every box on the party role list.
If it becomes an issue, I'll just do something like substitute a wand of Find Traps in for a treasure of equivalent value, or replace a trap with another hazard of equal CR, or have a solution that you can figure out with problem solving and teamwork instead of a dice roll.
No reason to grind the game to a halt because no one wants to be The Tank or The Healer, this isn't an MMORPG, it's a collaborative story. Bilbo was an objectively lousy burglar, he still got the job done. ;)
Anyway, this AP isn't the most "dungeon-crawly", I don't think it will be too big a problem.

Aerel Thelon |

Hey, hey, if we're going to be mocking one another's racial features, should I start acting all patronizing and sad about how quickly you'll all die? :P

Shaeda Stormborn |

Pretty sure mocking the party's divine caster is the most efficient way to shorten one's lifespan.
Shortly after doing so, the long arm of Calistria reached into the real world and caused Marvel's life to change in such ways that he would no longer have time to play!

Nicholas Sparrow |

I have never run short of those kind of jokes before.
And welcome, Jamir. Hopefully we don't kill you too fast.

Jamir Underfoot |

I was really hoping to go with Knife Master as well (as it is my favourite Rogue Archetype). However it doesn't stack with Roof Runner. I figured that Roof Runner made more sense in a city.
Flanking will be a lot of fun ... and very painful for anyone who crosses us. As for dying too quickly, I can just hide somewhere. My stealth is adequate enough to remain unseen.

Aerel Thelon |

Korvosa actually has a "district" known as the Shingles, which is literally poor people living on the roofs of other slightly less poor people.
