Who wants the potions? I imagine that they'll be useful. Also, I can try identifying them again tomorrow. Alternately, someone who can help identify could aid another?

Female Halfling Whipmistress 6 (AC: 23[T: 12FF: 22] | HP: 51/51(0NL) | F+8*, R+5*, W+8* | Init: +2 |Perc: +4)

Tomorrow. With limited skill points, I have no ranks in Spellcraft.

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

That's quite a good roll from Emma :-D

I did more stuff in that post. You ninja'd me on what to do with the kids. Though I still object to sending them into the city. And thank you :)

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

And "wrong kind of love" is pretty much what I thought about Calistria and the children as well XD

Our esteemed GM Kamro mentioned a door to the south as well, and I seem to remember another door in the room we came in through. But it sounds rather like we'll need to take the boat, swim or use ropes down the hole to reach Lamm.

Swimming should be all good. Tooootally not any monster in the water - oh no!

I wanted to know about the doors so we could barricade them. That is in the spoiler. It is late and the children have been traumatized enough. Sending them alone into the city is very dangerous.

Swashbuckler (Inspired) 2 | hp 16/16, panache 4/4 | Init 3, Per 5 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort 0, Ref 6, Will 0 | Rapier 6 (1d6+3/18-20) | Deeds: Opportune P and R, Derring Do, Dodging Panache

I wonder if someone might be able to snipe through the hole?

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

I think the consensus is that the children wait for us - barricading the doors might make too much noise and alert Lamm, if he hasn't already been alerted.

The children might be tougher than we expect, but... I agree, sending them out is unwise.

Sparrow, do you mean the hole with the water below? I don't know if there's anything down there we can shoot?

Swashbuckler (Inspired) 2 | hp 16/16, panache 4/4 | Init 3, Per 5 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort 0, Ref 6, Will 0 | Rapier 6 (1d6+3/18-20) | Deeds: Opportune P and R, Derring Do, Dodging Panache

I mean shooting to the lower floor, but trying to snipe like that would be pretty difficult for an archer.

Loot to the kids! Time to break all RP traditions!

Yeah, I think it's only a few feet deep (before hitting the surface of the river) - Kamro may correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain that the hole is not quite in the right location to fire at the lower floor - which I think is on the same level as we are right now, if I understand the map correctly.

EDIT: Now that we know they're healing potions, who wants 'em?

It's about 10 feet down.

Swashbuckler (Inspired) 2 | hp 16/16, panache 4/4 | Init 3, Per 5 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort 0, Ref 6, Will 0 | Rapier 6 (1d6+3/18-20) | Deeds: Opportune P and R, Derring Do, Dodging Panache

And we break adventurer tradition and give potions to NPC's! My first PbP loot and we're already planning to ship it all to an orphanage.

If this were Lord of the Rings, you'd totally give the Ring to Boromir. :)

Swashbuckler (Inspired) 2 | hp 16/16, panache 4/4 | Init 3, Per 5 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort 0, Ref 6, Will 0 | Rapier 6 (1d6+3/18-20) | Deeds: Opportune P and R, Derring Do, Dodging Panache

Actually, yes. Then again, if I was Frodo, I would not split the party right after. Instead, I would go with Boromir to Gondor, raise an army and take the dark lord head on, like most PC's.

Or just questioned the eagles' uses until they finally flew me over the volcano. Story end.

And then complained about the lack of any loot. nods sagely

Bilbo got more loot in his encounter than Frodo did in all of the LotR.

And do I sense a DM of the Rings reference there?

Female Halfling Whipmistress 6 (AC: 23[T: 12FF: 22] | HP: 51/51(0NL) | F+8*, R+5*, W+8* | Init: +2 |Perc: +4)

Are you all familiar with the theory that Gandalf always planned to use the eagles to complete the mission of the Fellowship?

Female Halfling Whipmistress 6 (AC: 23[T: 12FF: 22] | HP: 51/51(0NL) | F+8*, R+5*, W+8* | Init: +2 |Perc: +4)

Of course, there is also Gandalf deciding to solo the balrog, get all the XP and loot. The next time we see him, he has new gear and has clearly leveled up.

Hm... We do have a former sailor, don't we? Maybe she can tell us about the ship?

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

So - any bets on what creature Lamm has? I'd go for a half dragon half golem octopus!

It's an Adamantine Beholder with Demiliches instead of eyes on its stalks.

Awesome. Lots of XP. We'll already be lvl 10 - 12 then once we have defeated our first foe!

That's just the bonded mount though, right?

My vote is a bunny. Like the little bunny from the monty python and the holy grail :)

Ah, but Kamro has already said that we won't be using XP! Foiled before we even begin!

Also, that was a lot of posts. xD

Marvel you have a lovely child!

And then it turns out that Gaedren is the Vorpal Bunny. Heads will roll for this.

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

That she is! Normally she is also extremely well behaved, but we were visiting my wife's parents in Denmark this Christmas, so they taught her that if she asks often enough she gets whatever she wants, and I've begun telling her an "ineractive story" in which she is the main character and decides what to do, so as to indoctrinate her in the ways of roleplaying. Seems like the combination of those two has had som unintended consequences :-D

Ah, family. They are such helpful creatures.

I've added our two remaining potions to Aerel's inventory, since no one else has claimed them. Just so folks know - the elf has the healing potions.

Please tell me someone was smarter than Nicholas and brought a torch for their evening stroll? Nicholas doesn't exactly like cold, damp, dark places full of cobwebs and unknown, probably hostile creatures. :)

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

Aerel has low-light vision. :P

I'm good with that marching order, and willing to take a torch. Marvel's call on that last one.

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

Well, doesn't look like that's the way to Lamm's hideout XD

Also quite nice with most of us being before the spiders in initiative - should be quite easy to hit them if they are flat-footed, and we reaaaally want to kill them before they can poison us XD

I really hate spiders. If I encounter a spider I run to my wife for help.

Yeah, these things really need to be a surprise to be any sort of a threat---and the community made map I found decided to cover this room and the previous one in webs, so that probably wasn't going to happen.

Male Human Archer 1 | HP 20/20 | AC 17/13/14 | Init 3 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +2 | Perception 2

Aye - I was silently screaming "Oh God, spiders, not spiders, I hate spiders!!!" as soon as I saw the webs!

If spiders look particularly nasty or well mad in a game, I've been known to gather courage for a few days, before figting them, or at least waiting till its light outside :-D

Swashbuckler (Inspired) 2 | hp 16/16, panache 4/4 | Init 3, Per 5 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort 0, Ref 6, Will 0 | Rapier 6 (1d6+3/18-20) | Deeds: Opportune P and R, Derring Do, Dodging Panache

If the spiders are the size of a house cat,
And cats can kill normal people within 12 seconds,
Then these spiders should be able to kill normal people within 12 seconds.

I think Gaedren knows how to prepare his defences against normal people well.

This shines a whole new light on why cats always decide to sit on my lap! I knew there was a reason I don't like cats.

Oh, for the love of... Seriously, DR? Seriously? grumbles

Also, is the low-light vision thing in effect? I can't tell. Also, I think Shaeda should also be a source of light, because she cast light on her shield.

... I'm tempted to Harrow reroll my initiative, but these things aren't really that threatening.

Swashbuckler (Inspired) 2 | hp 16/16, panache 4/4 | Init 3, Per 5 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort 0, Ref 6, Will 0 | Rapier 6 (1d6+3/18-20) | Deeds: Opportune P and R, Derring Do, Dodging Panache

After seeing (and being scarred NY) arachnoidphobia, I've never been comfortable with them around.

@Aerel - You don't react to anything, do you? Silly Elves. You should panic at everything like Humans.

Yeah, that must be it. "Eh, all things shall pass." xD

EDIT: My big hope is that they won't crit me, because my flat-footed is... 12, and I have 7 hp at the moment. x_x

Good catch, I've made her a light source as well.

Yes, Low-Light Vision is in effect, as I've made you and Shaeda's vision distance twice what the other tokens are, but since everyone can see what every token sees, I don't think it makes much difference.

Death to the spiders! Now for looting and perception checks!

Also a random question - anyone in the group following Critical Role? :-)

Nicholas is a socially devoid creature without any other connections to this thing called the 'internet'. What is this 'critical role', and will it help me gain panache?
