Clement - thanks MUCHLY for the treasure tracking. You rock!

Some of these things Bibic has already taken, as you note on the spreadsheet.
- 100 inubrix arrows. <• I am returning these to the pile. I never used ‘em and probably won’t. Let’s sell.
- 7 undead bane arrows
- 20 human bane arrows
- headband of alluring charisma +1 (I assume this is actually +2?)

I think Bbic will take the +2 cloak of resistance, though if we need/want to give Koriah some magic, that would be a good candidate. I’m fine taking and tracking the group items you’ve applied to Bibic. Let me know when the list is final and I’ll update my sheet so we don't lose anything.

I’ll review tomorrow night or this weekend as it’s too much today. Not sure Rings of Wizardry work with sorcs, but mabye, I dunno.

Male Elf AC26/T19/FF20 / F +12 R +19 W +13 / Init. +6 / Perc. +28 / Sense Motive +27

Yeah, the ring of wizardry might not work for you.

Speaking of rings, the ring of spell storing is worth a whopping 50,000gp. All I'm using it for is to hold a Breath of Life just in case. Seems altogether better to grab a pair of First Aid Gloves for just 4,500gp. We can get two Breath of Life spells out of 'em at that price, for emergencies.

So keep the ring of spell storing in the kitty and I'll get the gloves as backup instead. I have a wand of CLW with 38 charges on it, but I never use it. Still, if you don't have one Clement, we might want to get one more of those for 750gp as well.

Are there any other group purchases we want to make?

+1 inspire courage (+3)
+1 lore master (2/day)

No rush on getting leveled. We're in a lull between adventures, so it's a good time to liquidate all that treasure and stock up for the next delve.

Yes, it's a headband of alluring charisma +2.

Rings of wizardry work for arcane spellcasters, so I don't see why they wouldn't work for a sorcerer.

If Bibic ends up taking Koriah as a cohort, here's her stat block:

Googling the forums suggest the ring works for arcanists.

Rings of spell storing seem like such great items. Perhaps Clement should simply put Bestow Curse in there and Rhesus should wear it, and he can recharge it between fights?

We could also put a Break Enchantment in it? Or True Seeing? Or...

They're just so darn useful...

Wow, I was wrong, well at least the boards and HeroLab agree that I'm wrong. Looks like the Ring of Wizardry will 'double' Spasi's first level spells from 8 first level castings a day to 14, according to HeroLab. So sure, Spasi will take that.

Let's mark off the Scroll of Break Enchantment as used when we are freeing ourselves from animal form. Spasi might have cast it to fix himself in the brief minutes he had between beatings from Rhesus.

So, yes, sell the rest and split it 5 ways. Is that the correct total of gp earned then?

I'll get to shopping soon enough.

Thanks for the updated totals Clement!

So, Koriah just picked up 6,652gp. She’ll sell her current armor for 662gp bringing to a total of 7,314gp. She’ll use that to buy a Mithral Breastplate (+6 AC, +5maxdex, -1 ACP) for 4,500gp, two weapon cords for 2sp, and a spring loaded Wrist Sheath for 5gp leaving her with 2,808gp in ready cash.

Bibic just picked up 37,442gp. He will pay to ensorcel Koriah’s armor to +2 (4,000gp), buy her a belt of giant strength +2 (4,000gp), and pick up an amulet of natural armor +2 (8,000gp).

For himself he’ll buy Cold Iron Silver Blanched Arrows x200 (120gp), First Aid Gloves (4,500gp), Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend (3,000gp), and improve his Headband of Alluring Charisma to +4 (12,000gp)

Total spent 35,620gp That will leave him with 1,778gp toward future purchases. GM Fangaur, let me know if any of this is not cool. Also, are the feat swaps I PMed you about for Koriah OK?

So, the ring of spell storing. Pretty potent item, how do we use it, or do we simply hawk it for 25K give up 25K in WBL?

It's not a weapon of spell-storing, so axe that Bestow Curse idea as Rhesus wearing it can't cast spells while raging. In his hands it's either got a couple spells when he needs them, or it's got a Clem or Spasi spell that someone like Bibic could use in an emergency.

Clem could put a Surmount Affliction in there for 2 slots, so Rhesus could drop rage and delay confused, blinded, etc for 13 rds. He could put a Deadly Juggernaut in there for 3 slots. Clem's flexible on using his spell slots since he seems to never be close to running out if anyone has any good ideas here.

Based on recent experiences, our party has been hit by confusion and transmutation dangers which we should try to handle better.

@GMF: Are you OK with retraining rules? If so Clem would consider taking 5 days and 650gp to retrain his Saving Shield feat to something else (the one that lets him add a +2 shield bonus vs the first attack each round vs Rhesus) since it's kind of felt a bit clunky in PbP. And plus, Clem likes sharing the injuries Rhesus takes now.

Male Elf AC26/T19/FF20 / F +12 R +19 W +13 / Init. +6 / Perc. +28 / Sense Motive +27

As far as confusion goes, I have Break Enchantment now which should help I think. And Dispel Magic. Not too sure about the ring. There's not a lot on my spell list that fits well - unless I use it like pearls of power to just churn away at spells to extend my reach.

That said, I am often out of some of my key spells when we rest, but I don't think I've ever wanted a spell in the last fight of the day I didn't have. So I'm closer to being empty at the end of the day, but still not quite there.

Spasi, anything for you that makes the ring worthwhile? If not, we might as well try the two spells you suggest Clement, if Rhesus is willing to buff now and again before combat starts. :) If we find we're not using it, or it's not having much of an impact, we can sell it later.

As far as the ring goes, I’ve never ever found a good way to get them to work for me and Spasi is happy to load one up as needed.

I dunno, whatever you want from Spasi’s spellist, but mostly we have things covered. I’ll ponder upon it but I don’t expect any huge revelations.

Is anyone going to use the Shard of Envy (The Shard of Envy is made of shimmering green noqual. As long as the Shard of Envy is carried, its owner can use dispel magic as a spell-like ability once per day, gains a +2 insight bonus on saves versus abjuration spells and spell-like abilities, and gains a +1 insight bonus to AC.)?

If not, OK to give it to Koriah? She can then dispel magic on someone who's confused or whatever. I think we got a Dusty Rose Prism to go with it - is that correct? Too bad the ioun stone and the shard both provide a +1 insight bonus to AC, which doesn't stack. Still a +1 will be nice (trying to make her less susceptible to damage as she has been).

Thumbs up on Koriah using a shard.

I've got some ideas on Clement embracing the party's success and his ability to control life/death going to his head, and well - being around Spasi too much.

In letting his shard of gluttony affect him the slightest, he'll be springing for a daily hero's feast for the group and a rod of splendor to toss up a big tent when we arrive "on scene" at the Lodge or a new locale for shard hunting to announce our arrival.

Might need to look into the cost of some hirelings to clean up our camp sites after us, us being bigwigs and all now... I feel like Spasi could get into this.

Re:Recruits: Bibic is taking leadership, so gets a ton of low level followers, so depending in what he wants to do with them, they might cover some of those duties. Otherwise, untrained hirelings run 1sp/day and trained go for 3sp/day. They will be a faceless mob unless you want to flesh them out, or bring them into danger where their demises will be colorfully described.

Yeah, that was my plan - pulling followers for this.

I'll flesh them out a bit, but probably not too much unless we start bringing a few along into the wild.

I have some time today, so I might even have something up later. GM, PC classes OK, or are they all NPC classed?

I'm assuming a -1 for 'moves around a lot' and I'm taking the -1 for the 'death of a follower' just in case so I don't have folks leaving me later. :) Still nets me a hoard of folks (16 leadership score for followers).

Bibic’s followers are an odd sort. Made up largely of Varisians, they are quite clannish among themselves though they’re generally not personally related. I’ve sketched out a few general details to give them some life. The bulk of Bibic’s people reside in Magnimar, but a few are positioned in Kaer Maga as well. Most have jobs of their own, and only assist when Bibic is in town, with the exception of the leveled folks who attend to Bibic’s tasks full time.

Third Level (1)
Timotei Florescu (m, ranger 3) travels back and forth between the two ‘families’, carrying messages and guarding the occasional caravan as both personal protection and a way to make a few more gold. He follows Bibic in that he primarily uses the bow. He’s often guarding a cart of his own with various goods bound from or to Dimitrie’s shop. In those cases, he always attaches to a larger caravan to help protect the goods from the usual road hazards.

Second Level (2)
Eugen Stoenescu (m, sorcerer 2) is in charge of the Kaer Maga family. He’s more relaxed in his approach, and so the clan are more spread out throughout the city districts and more diverse. He’s been trying to convince Bibic to bring one of the undead onto the team, but so far hasn’t convinced him.

Soare Nicu (f, bard 2) is in charge of the Magnimar family and rules it with rather more of an iron fist than Bibic would like. That said, she can be kind as well, and often shares out Bibic’s favors to the community to generate good will among the people in their area. She keeps the Magnimar clan close, the farm aside, and a few even reside together here and there.

First Level (25)
Magnimar
Abella Hila (f, rogue 1) is the matriarch of the clan. Soare might be in charge, but Abella is where the wisdom comes from. Other than that, she does little.
Augustin Boroi (m, commoner 1) is a particular fine cook, even if he says so himself. Bibic does enjoy his cabbage and potatoes with cheese however (though it might just be the cheese).
Catarino Dobre (m, commoner 1) is one of the laziest in Bibic cadre. He means well, but tasks that befall him occasionally don’t get done so he’s generally given scut work, which he doesn’t want to do.
Costel Catargiu (m, commoner 1) is one of the workers on Serban & Jeni’s pig farm out of town. Not the brightest man, he is quite large and friendly, though he has a permanent scowl on his face from a prior scar.
Dimitrie Banciu (m, expert 1) owns a small shop selling odds and ends that accumulate through a large trade city. He’s done rather well with the clan - especially as Timotei often brings items for sale that he’s picked up on his travels back and forth to Magnimar.
Emilian Iacobescu (m, fighter 1) is a guard for hire, and helps with the muscle end of the business. Bright for a fighter he’s looking to move up.
Filip Matei (m, rogue 1) makes his living on the streets, largely begging, but he’s not above the occasional pick-pocket if things look easy. Bibic has likely had to bail him out of prison more than once.
Horia Belododia (f, commoner 1) is one of many servants in Bibic’s loose employment. She keeps her ears open in her other jobs, but she’s very taciturn about sharing the information - something Bibic respects though it infuriates Soare who thinks the clan should come first.
Iancu Predoiu (m, fighter 1) did some work with the local militia, but found bloodletting, and the physical punishment of it all, too much. He now works with Mahaita cleaning and doing other servant work.
Jeni Florea (f, commoner 1), helps her husband, Serban, raise pigs - though mostly she tends the rather substantial gardens that support the incredible feasts they host for the clan annually during the fall harvest and runs the household. No member of Bibic’s retinue ever goes hungry in Jeni’s home.
Iulio Lascar (f, commoner 1) is also a servant. She has a jagged scar down her arm from a childhood accident, but the incident strengthened her resolve. She is quite dedicated.
Mihaita Maniu (f, commoner 1) hires out to some of the fancier houses along with a cleaning crew whom she manages. Iancu often works with her on her crew and they’ve grown close.
Nelu Morosanu (f, warrior 1) wants to be in the town guard, but can’t quite measure up physically. She tries hard though, and works out regularly to improve her strength.
Serban Sollomovici (m, commoner 1), unlike the rest of the clan, lives just out of town as a pig farmer. It might not smell good, but he’s good at what he does and also helps the local magistrate with the odd problem as they’re friends. He’s married to Jeni whom he adores though they have no children.
Teo Mitu (f, fighter 1), the youngest of the clan, Teo has a bit of a temper, and the strength to make it a problem. Still, she’s a good one to have in a fight, so the family accepts her.
Valeriu Skutnik (f, warrior 1) works for Dimitrie in his shop, sweeping up, acting as a sort of bodyguard to provide a bit of protection for the goods there, and to keep the occasionally sketchy customer from robbing the place or otherwise trying to take advantage.
Vlad Marin (m, half-orc, fighter 1), one of the night watch, Vlad is the only non human among the Magnimar crew. He respects Bibic’s half-nature, but he feels a bit left out by the otherwise close-knit Magnimar crew.

Kaer Maga
Bodgan Musat (m, halfling, rogue 1) works the streets often pretending to be a knowledgeable adolescent and guide to the city. It’s not that folks mind a halfling guide, they just seem to trust youth more and Bodgan finds it easier to work under those arrangements.
Costin Antonescu (m, aristocrat 1) is a petty noble from Korvosa who fled that city during the latest unpleasantness and hasn’t returned. Though he doesn’t like getting his hands dirty, he still has some decent contacts in Korvosa and can help acquire various items.
Dumitru Galca (m, warrior 1) does what he can to get by, having little luck of his own, though he’s a fervent worshipper of Desna. He currently serves Gogu, hoping to help her move up in the church hierarchy.
Gogu Ionita (f, gnome, cleric (Desna) 1) sides with Bibic on the undead argument, though she’s weakened of late under the pressure of Eugen.
Neculai Kogalniceanu (m, expert 1) inherited a decent home and a little money and so lives largely a life of ease. He does odd jobs here and there, mostly for the clan, often involving settling conflicts as he’s a good mediator having once held a minor position in the law.
Niculaie Skutnik (m, commoner 1) wants very much to be a vampire and live forever, though his ambitions have, so far, been thwarted. Still, he works his way up the chain as a servant in the wealthier districts, hoping for an undead employer who can lead him to what he seeks.
Radu Tudor (f, commoner 1) works as a servant in one of the many houses of ill repute that Spasi likes to frequent, which is how Bibic met her. Extremely strong of character, she stands up to just about anybody without fear and often acts as a bouncer, though she’s quite short.
Valerian Saftoiu (m, half-elf, fighter 1) is a stalwart fellow, and generally the quiet one among a rowdy bunch.

GM Fanguar, I gave ‘em mostly NPC classes, though I did add a fair number of regular core classes. Honestly I don't care what they are for the most part, so let me know if that’s not cool - happy to change up whatever. Just trying to get a blend of folks for Bibic to work with.

Mostly I figure they’ll be behind the scenes, and we won’t really interact with them. However, whenever Bibic goes to Magnimar or Kaer Maga he spends some time with his people, learning what they’re doing and seeing what’s going on. And of course he’ll collect a few to serve the party when they’re in town to increase our creature comforts…

I'll add this list to Bibic's character sheet Fanguar, in case you ever want to refer to it.

+1. Well done.

@Bibic: Well done sir. Everything seems to be on the up and up at first glance. Just keep me updated if any of them end up travelling with the party.

@Spasi: Thanks you. One does one's best.

Um, all of them!

Unless we need to keep up a marketing campaign to keep up our reptuation in Magnimar...

Clem's daily heroes feast can feed 13 people.

The pavilion from his Rod of Splendor can only be conjured for 1 day once per week so Clem will invest in some mundane accommodations for all these retainers to setup for us. I'll do some research on this in a bit, but I imagine we buy like a dozen tents and some beasts and such for the days we rough it without the pavilion.

Clement will retrain Saving Shield for Angelic Blood which is really just +2 on saves vs Evil descriptor spells and stabilize checks (I don't imagine the weird bleed thing comes up).

Then for his 13th level feat, he'll grab Angel Wings. Because, Angel Wings.

Hey gents,

I had a game end over the summer and have recharged my batteries to the point where I'm ready to kick off something new.

I don't know what I'm going to run yet, as I want some input from potential players first. To facilitate that, I've set up a thread to have a bit of a session zero before I kick things off. LINKY

You're all great players, so if anyone is interested in another game feel free to jump in and join the conversation, as you'd all be great additions to the table. But no pressure, as I know you're all in a bunch of games already.

This would be cool but I'm finding myself at my limit for games right now with my work changes. Thank you for the offer.

I am pretty damn full right now and I'd be a fool to add another, though a chance to play more Greyhawk would be tempting, but no, I'm full.

I always appreciate consideration for new games.

Without these other jokers around to draw me in, I'd be looking for the perfect game to add another.

Greyhawk always lures me in. I do like how you're up for 5e, SotDL or 13th Age. That'd be tempting as I'm somewhat saturated on PF/3e.

Yeah, this sounds like a fun approach to a new game, but I am trying to get a new game off the ground, and when I do, I'll also be full. Probably over-full, but that's the nature of gaming. :)

Thanks for the invite!

We can assume each morning Clement dons his chef's robes (mnemonic vestments) and prepares a heroes feast for consumption using a level 6 slot. It's good for 1d8+6 temporary HP for 12 hours.

Additionally at the end of the day, assuming Clement hasn't used all his spell slots at the end of the previous day, Clement will use a 4th level spell slot for an extended magic weapon on 50 of Bibic's arrows. This will last 26 hours between the Extend (which Clement gets to do once per day at night time from his Stargazer archetype).

Shield Other lasts 13 hours, so Clement will typically put that on Rhesus when they finish breaking down camp, probably lasting from 8am to 9pm each day.

He'll Lifelink with Rhesus, Bibic and Spasi as well. He'll not link with Koriah - just yet.

He'll have his Word of Recall set for Magnimar.

I think you roll once for the spell for Heroes Feast's temporary hp - but that's a great spell.

As for ensorcelling Bibic's arrows, the magics from bow and arrow don't stack, so the only time I'll get a benefit from the spell is if I have to use my backup bow for some reason. So I'm happy to take it for backup, but if you've a better use for the slot, have at it. :)

Thanks!

Ooh, I see the Feast note now, after I posted. Ignore me.

Clement's Greater Magic Weapon bestows a +3 bonus so any weapon that is +1 or +2 should be able to benefit from it, ammunition or otherwise.

You'd get a +3 bonus regardless of the bow used, which is basically a permanent +1 for your first 50 shots per day, no?

Clement could also use it for Rhesus if we think that's better. He could also use two slots to cover both of you.

Male Elf AC26/T19/FF20 / F +12 R +19 W +13 / Init. +6 / Perc. +28 / Sense Motive +27

My main bow is +3, so it's an even match. So for me, it's only good if I lose my main weapon, which is pretty rare for me. Throw it on Rhesus, and I'll let you know if I change my mind. Thanks!

Rhesus upgraded his main weapon to +3 so he wouldn't need it either.

@Bibs: Assume it's on a weapon of your choosing for Koriah then?

Ahhh, excellent call. Will do!
