Basalte
|
Hello EF, and thanks for running this game!
I figured I'd play this one with Basalte instead of Ennoia, since the other people interested were in the level 1-2 range. I could bring Ennoia of course, if necessary. I'll wait a bit for the other players to arrive before making the final decision on who to bring.
Let me know what you think!

Ok Ive got this character. . .
Thor Odinson PFS

This character. . .
Prophet of the Purifying Flame

and this character. Ill leave it to the party as to which they would like, both for role and subtier. :)

Mohok
|
Hi EF - Khelreddin/Terrill here - I'm thinking I'd like to jump in with Mohok, who's second level, if the tiers work out okay. One question: do you expect you'll wrap this game up by PaizoCon, which star July 4? I know you usually run a pretty expeditious game, but I also know you've been a bit busy of late.
| EndlessForms |
I'm done with my honors thesis so I will (hopefully) have more time to devote to keep my games going. That being said, even when I'm at my usual fast pace my games take on average between 4-6 weeks. So July 4 is possible but we'll have to push it. This one is not terribly long from what I remember.
| EndlessForms |
Heh, it wasn't required, it was just to get an honors recognition with my degree. But I'm starting my phd this fall in genetics so really that was small potatoes compared to what I've got coming at me in the next six years.
Mohok
|
Okay, still trying to decide if I should play at the risk of having Mohok out of commission for PaizoCon, but I have a question: the one PC who has dotted in the gameplay thread, Yanos, is 6th level. I'm still figuring out the world of PFS tiering, but how will that fit with some 1st and 2nd level PCs wanting to join?
And I'll add to the congratulations on your thesis, EF! Even if it wasn't required, I suspect there was a bit of work involved in it, so good on ya!
wakedown

I did a quick recap of the possible PCs:
Mohok 2
Corrina 1
Germaine 4/Thor 2/Prophet 1
Yanos 6
Basalte 1
I almost always prefer to the play the 3-4 subtier over the 1-2 subtier in a 1-7 scenario (even if I'm a 1 or 2).
I have PCs at 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th that I could bring (the 4th is likely doing a game on Saturday but would be free on Sunday).
I'll let other folks chew on which PCs are going before I get too far in selecting one.
DM Beckett
|
Yanos is also my character, so Yanos/Germaine/Thor/Prophet.
Mohok
|
Okay, so we could play 1-2 or 3-4, depending on what wakedown and Beckett do. I'd be okay with playing either subtier.
And from the speedy, attentive posting going on in this discussion thread, I'm thinking we could get this done in a month. What do you all think? My only caveat is I've got a long work trip in June that will allow me to post, but not as regularly as I would normally.
Thor Odinson PFS
|
It looks like I need to update, too. Both Yanos (who Ill take out as an option) and Thor (who is 3rd level, not 2nd).
| EndlessForms |
We're up to five players then? Looks like it to me unless I made a mistake:
Mohok 2
Corrina 1
Germaine 4/Thor 2/Prophet 1
Basalte 1
wakedown
So room for one more if someone else joins.
DM Beckett
|
In my experience, 4-5 players for PbPs is ideal. 6 tends to slows things down as everyone needs to wait for another player to act, but its very doable. Im good either way.
Mohok
|
I'm with Beckett, we'll go in fast and light and they'll never know what hit them. Unless we use Diplomacy and take a completely different approach. But either way, 4-5 players is good.
| EndlessForms |
A sixth player might push you up to the higher tier though, if anyone was concerned about that.
DM Beckett
|
I would rather play up, as just about every character I have is very far below the expected wealth from playing down so often. But if not, no big deal.
Ennoia
|
If we want to play up, I'll bring Ennoia instead of Basalte. Since she's level 4, we should definitely be high tier.
Mohok
|
So, if we want to play up, we'd use this list:
Corrina 1
Mohok 2
Germaine 4
Ennoia 4
wakedown 4 (likely not free until Sunday)
Which puts us exactly at an average level of 3. I'm good with that, but would love to start right away if possible, given my deadline at the end.
Saint Germaine
|
I've posted as Saint Germaine in the gameplay thread. I also just realized that this will be the first time I've played the character (aside from before a 1st level rebuild). Everything else is DM credit. :)
DM, would you mind going into the Campaign thread, hitting edit, scrolling down a bit and removing the Player and NPC checkmarks from Yanos, Thor, and Prophet. That way they will not appear in the Characters tab, and the guy will be at the top when I post.
Quillen
|
Man, it's rough business creating a 2nd level PC when you know they'll be so much better at 3rd.
This year I've been playing an arcanist, cleric, shaman and alchemist so was looking to do something less magic-centric. With the bruisers some of you guys are, I figured I could get away with a fledgling skill character this run.
Character created and posted.
Ennoia

Such a hilarious character! I love it.
Quillen

You're too kind!
And wow, I'm impressed by your PFS preparedness with linking to proof of ownership of source materials - that's no small effort.
I'm totally going to do that now, too. :)
| EndlessForms |
I will get us moving as soon as possible. Our Carrion Crown group is playing for the first time in months today so we're doing a full-day marathon session, which will likely impede my ability to post today.
Mohok

Ennoia - I somehow hadn't realized we've played together. Your Kynrac and my Terrill attended an important wedding of the Blakros family some time back, nice to play with you again. And I agree, Quillen is already an entertaining character concept.
It's always nice when PFS throws together a great group, I hope I can match the standard!
Edit: just took a quick look and it appears we're well set-up to fight demons and devils! Mohok has evil outsiders as his FE, Ennoia is a divine hunter, and Saint Germaine has holy and axiomatic strike, and I'm sure I missed some aspects of them. And I bet we'll fight fey the whole time...
Ennoia
|
Oh yes, hi Terrill! That wedding sure was a memorable party. Nice to play again with you!
| EndlessForms |
We are entering the final combat so I'll need everyone's PFS numbers and Day Jobs!
