I am making my bi-annual trek to Disney World starting November 29 and going through December 8. If I am in your game, please bot me as needed. If you are in my game, sit tight, and we'll pick up on my return. I should be able to post pretty regularly right up until leaving, however.

This is a meta-gaming question, but what kind of resolution would be best here? Dr. D seems to have given us the green light to bust heads, providing they don't want to surrender, which seems likely. If we raid the place while it is full operation, that would probably be a big, long, complicated battle to conduct, taking lots of time and effort, particularly for the GM.
If we could get in when there are relatively few people there, we could subdue them or kill them if they violently resist, and then destroy all the expensive elements they are constructing and cart off what goods are stored there. That would be less complicated.
A lot depends on whether they are a three-shift full time operation or if they have some time when there is little happening.

As someone who lives with four furry friends, you have my sympathies for your loss.
Fortune Brav0
My area (also Zenfox's) is forecast to have a lot of snow and freezing rain starting Saturday and continuing through Sunday. Power outages are likely. So if we don't post during and after this time, it may be that we have no electricity.
John "Noetic" Smith
Stay warm! Meanwhile, I have been running around in shorts. :D
John "Noetic" Smith
That sounds unpleasant. Take care.
GM_ZenFox42
I'm recruiting for a Cleric or Paladin to join the SW for Pathfinder game I'm running. We're running the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path. Click HERE if you're interested.
John "Noetic" Smith
I hope it goes smoothly!
Fortune Brav0
The cataract was fixed, but an attempted cornea transplant could not be completed as planned. So my right eye is a bit blurry and cloudy due to the defective cornea. Another attempt is lanned in a few weeks. I can see well enough to drive and do things I normally do.
John "Noetic" Smith
That sucks. Be safe until it all gets taken care of.

Ugh, sucks! Sorry to hear this. On another note, I am two weeks out from the convention I help manage (my wife is the director, and I run the gaming room), and things are getting down the wire. If I get behind, please bot me as necessary.
Fortune Brav0
@ Hellion/Azil: Sorry to hear about the death of a pet. Went through that recently.
I'm due to have another eye operation in a week, this time to complete the cornea transplant in my right eye. Part of the follow-up therapy requires me to lie on my back all day and all night, two hours at time with 15 minute breaks. This will go on for a number of days.
THere's no pain involved, but it will make it hard for me to post except in short stints between shifts on my back, unless I can manage on my tablet. Could make me a lax poster for the duration.

Good luck to you, Fortune, and I was very sorry to hear about the loss of your pet, Hellion. Truly, they are a part of our families, and they take a piece of us with them when they go.
John "Noetic" Smith
I look like my icon. So I have a hood and when I am intangible I am all pale white.
VeeSix
Six does wear armor and it is of V'Sori make. The V'Sori Energy Staff he carries with him probably also screams 'not your average Joe".
VeeSix
I'd have to go back and look, but I think so. Six wanted to make sure he did not look like one of the Fins.
John "Noetic" Smith
I will have traveling from Friday March 6th, until Saturday March 21st. I will try and keep up posting, but please feel free to bot me as needed.
Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus
Sorry all been a super busy weekend, work was proverbially on fire on my friday, then it was dr visit, family visit, all day dnd game, and finally getting to sleep. Been a bit of a whirlwind but I think the rest of this month(work willing) should be easier.
John "Noetic" Smith
I won’t have access to my book until I get home. So it will take a bit for me to pick an advancement.
VeeSix
Six will increase his Persuasion and Common Knowledge by a die type. Persuasion because he has been able to convince a ganger to flip and he has been hanging around the rest of the crew getting to know how the world works.

Looking over my build, I realize I appear to have made a mistake in giving Fortune a d10 in the Occult skill. I believe I may have assumed it was based in the spirit attribute which is d10, as I gave her d10 using 4 skill points. But in SWADE, Occult is based in Smarts, which is just d4 for Fortune.
Options:
I reduce her Occultism skill to d6, which would use 3 points and spend the extra point on something else. In this case I'd spend it on Thievery making it d4. I'd only do this if the GM sees some scenarios where Occultism would be an important skill for someone to have.
Eliminate Occultism skill entirely and spend the 4 points elsewhere. I took it because of her focus on the Tarot deck and her mother's use of occultism. But her casting is based on Focus, which is based in spirit (d10). I'd spend 3 on persuasion (d10) and 1 on thievery.
GM allows Occultism to be based on Spirit, a special for Fortune as her trapping is her powers come from her understanding of Tarot. No changes needed. Spend the advance to change her agility to d6. This would only make sense if there is going to be some use of the occultism skill. If not, then best to go with option 2 above.

Fortune - well, technically your Super Sorcery ability requires a d10 or better in the Occult skill in order to function, so that's non-negotiable. But I can't see any reason why the skill couldn't be based off of Spirit instead of Smarts. In fact, that actually differentiates it from Super Science, which needs the Science skill at d10, which is based on Smarts. I realize that changes the nature of the skill from "knowledge of the occult" to some sort of "connection to the occult" which I probably wouldn't allow in a different setting, but since this is supers...

Finally getting a chance to sit down and look through stuff, yay busy week and weekends... Which tier are we in Seasoned?
Looking to either double down into combat focus, First strike, Counterattack(Seasoned). or maybe upping some of my skills/attributes
Alternatively since Hellion has been the pseudo-leader(although she certainly doesn't feel like she's earned the role nor that she'll ever do so) I may end up doing something with that, though i'm at a loss as to what would.. count or fit that theme without dumping 3-4 edges into a specific leader line.
GM_ZenFox42
I just spent a half an hour looking thru the character creation posts, and I offered no Advancements up-front. And as far as I can remember (which is spotty), I don't think I offered any Advancements during the Big Dog/Merchant storylines (not going to read those 19 screens of posts!). So technically, y'all are Novice.
Let's make it 2 Advancements.
Hellion - I've never seen much use for the Leadership Edges. It sounds like you're aware of how they work, so I won't rant about their limitations. <time passes> Hmmm...how about an Edge that allows your Persuasion-based Support rolls to last for multiple rounds, with no range limitation, that can add a +1 to the recipient's Fighting, Damage, Parry, or Toughness (this may be overkill!)? Another Edge could give you a +1 to your Support roll. Maybe a Seasoned Edge that affects the entire group? I'm open to riffs on this idea...

Having Occultism based on Spirit does seem logical. Here is the definition of "Occult" from Merriam-Webster:
The occult refers to "hidden" knowledge or esoteric traditions focusing on supernatural forces, magic, alchemy, and divination, distinct from mainstream religion and science. Originating from the Latin occultus (hidden/concealed), it encompasses branches like Hermeticism, Theosophy, and Wicca, often exploring themes of unseen reality and personal spiritual power.
Arcane background for Miracles is Faith (Spirit), for Magic is Spell Casting (Smarts), for Psionics is Psionics (Smarts), and for Weird Science is Weird Science (Smarts). Thats 3 arcane backgrounds based on Smarts and only one based in Spirit. Also the Supers bases has Focus based on Spirit. In RPGs like Pathfinder, there are spell casters who seem more smarts based (Wizards, Alchemists) and others that seem more Spirit based (Sorcerers, Witches).
So I'll switch Occultism's base attribute to Spirit and won't have to change anything else.
So with two advances, I'd like to boost agility to d6. Then take d4 in thievery and advance athletics to d6. I'd like to eventually add some kind of powered skateboard that would use athletics as the base skill for controlling it. And in case we need to pick a lock or crack a safe in the future, she can potentially boost the thievery to d6 or d8, which will be more reliable. With another advance, it can get boosted to d8 or d10.
Having thievery skill also fits with Fortune's general personality of breaking rules and going where she wants to go.
John "Noetic" Smith
I am planning on raising Smarts to D8 and then with the second advancement I will move Investigation and Notice to d8.
Is there an advancement to increase Super Powers?
VeeSix
Hmm... Second advance will go to Fighting. It is Six's gig.
