Quillen listens at the door and can hear movement inside; someone is definitely in the next room.

Moving along while I've got the chance:

The party readies themselves by the door (feel free to retcon something if you want) and kicks it in. Great, upright stones dominate this room, evenly spaced out to allow for easy passage between them. The stones have been perfectly carved to form bookshelves, each with six different shelves containing various books, notes, maps, and other crammed-in documents. A perpetual thick gray fog covers the floor of this room to a height of six inches, and most of the documents on the lowest shelves of the bookcases appear to have rotted away because of condensation from this fog, giving the room a pungent, musty aroma.

Each of the shelves in the room is 10 feet wide and twelve feet high, made of solid stone.

Standing at the end of the row of bookshelves is a creature with a bloated frame shuddering with each movement. Its skin almost looks melted or made of mud.

Nauseated for 1 more round.

Corrina looks around to make sure the bodyguards aren't coming back. She vomits again, but nothing comes out this time. She stumbles to the edge of the cloud.

Quillen braves the cloud once more, but this time is not so lucky, stopping to cough up a dirtied lung.

Move action, get sick, finish move action to come out of cloud.

Quillen, knowing this feeling all too well, rummages around in his pack and pulls out a vial of pink-colored liquid.

Move action to pull out wismuth salix, which I'm excited to see I packed on this PC!

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Mohok moves along through the fumes while Germaine closes in and brings his blade down on the woman. Corrina stumbles forward and readies to plung in again. Quillen moves through the cloud again, getting out a vial that should help him fight off the nausea. Although with only a move action I don't know how you'll drink it, since that usually takes a standard action.

Initiative:

1. Corrina and Ennoia
2. Celeena
3. Mohok, Germaine, and Quillen

C: 29 dmg

Ennoia is up!

You know, this is the first time I've ever pulled one out, and it hadn't dawned on me, that the item is essentially unusable in that case. Can I get a duration roll on the nauseated? I wasn't sure if you wanted to roll that or have me....

Ennoia shoots two more arrows of righteous fury at Celeena.
Feel free to add the relevant modifier for cover since Germaine is between Ennoia and Celeena.

Very nice shot, Ennoia!

@EF - the cloud is still around, eh? It's been 3 rounds, right? Just trying to keep track of my nausea and the various obstacles.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

@Mohok: good catch, the cloud would have gone away last round. So Quillen should be fine but I think would have had to double move anyways.

With a well-placed arrow, Ennoia brings Celeena Deckland to the ground!

Out of combat!

her gear:
potion of cure moderate wounds, scroll of mage armor (already used), scroll of shield (already used), wand of magic missile (CL 5th, 50 charges); masterwork shortspear, cloak of resistance +1, ring of protection +1

The documents you sought are on her person, still intact.

As Quillen marches forward, the cloud parting in his wake, he advances to stand towering over the fallem form of Celeena Deckland.

He grunts, frowning at her fallen form and then looks straight up at Ennoia, her longbow still in hand.

"Well done, paladin."

With a salute, he spins on his heel and heads back to the prior room, reaching for his breast pocket as he departs.

@EF - Oh, ok. That wasn't quite what I expected, but it's certainly helpful.

Mohok continues to heave and retch for a few more moments as his fellow Pathfinders take down Celeena and search her. As Quillen struts across the room and back, Mohok grumbles to himself, half in anger and half in laughing disbelief, "I train and I struggle to be the best demon-fighter known, and I spend the fight against this one puking in the corner!" Still, he can't help but admire how quickly his companions have dispatched the threat. "Yeah, nice work, everyone," he says, "let's get out of here, this place stinks."

Quillen - I love the clouds parting for your little Napoleon!

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

With the documents secured, Absalom is once again safe from invasion. Celeena is put on trial for treason and sentenced to a lengthy prison term. Additional members of the Society are sent in to catalog the many items in the library and clerics are brought in to consecrate the remains of the Deckland family interred in the crypts and properly restore them to a manageable status.

And that's it! Congrats! Chronicles are going out now!

With a nod to Quillen, Ennoia lowers her bow.

"Thanks. Let's head out and put her on trial, she deserves it."

Heading back to Skyreach, Ennoia cannot help but wonder what pushed Celeena to turn towards evil.

Thanks for the scenario, EF! I liked it!

Yep, I had a great time. Thanks again, EF!

Quillen, job done to an appropriate level of satisfaction, leans against the front steps to the Grand Lodge in the shadows of his own hat and partakes of his "reward" - the same reward he's already granted himself several times throughout the day.
