"yup. Drop it and it turns into a bird to send a letter anywhere." Verathis explains.
to Grel he responds,"That's a staircase, and the cliff walls are about it."
| GM Elberion |
As Grel surveys the cliffs, it seems like incredible engineering or suicidal bravery to build the stairs.

Johnny responds in kind, winging a goblin close to him.
Verathis lashes out with a burst of noise which leaves a second goblin motionless in the trees, blood pouring from its ears and nostrils.

The dazed goblin flops mindlessly into branches and hits the ground already unconscious.
Meanwhile, the goblin shot by Johnny windmills, howling in surprise and fear, before hitting the ground with an audible crack.
Both are dead.
The remaining goblins chatter nervously (or perhaps excitedly) amongst themselves and fire their bows again.

Carson sees an arrow fly far over his head, Harada feels an arrow thud into his armour but it does not penetrate.
Grel is less fortunate and feels the steel pierce his flesh.

Grel winces at the arrow strike. He sets up for another acid spit at the southernmost goblin.

He then moves to take cover behind a tree.

While Grel drenches a tree and Carson spooks a sparrow, Verathis strikes a goblin. It cries out in pain and grabs a branch to stay steady on the swaying tree.
Harada "The Hammer"

Sensing a perhaps drawn out ranged battle rather than an opening volley Harada reaches around and quickly draws his longbow from his back and fires at the middle tree-goblin.
Gritting his teeth at the pain coming from his wounded arm Harada fires...

Carson watches as Grel take off after the goblin but decides to keep an eye out for more trouble. He spots Harada looking the wrong way, "Hey Harada, turn around. The goblin den is that way."
He moves up to the edge of the treeline and looks around.

Grel moves up the treeline by Carson. We should rush the bridge. Hit the front door hard and sort them out later.
| GM Elberion |
The top of the ridge is marked by walls and piecemeal fences. While Lashed-together wooden poles form a makeshift staircase crudely bolted and fixed to the side of the stone shelf. The stairs lead upward to a platform that sits thirty feet above the ground.
At the top of the stairs, A piecemeal steel and iron fence runs between two wooden buildings. A seven-foot-tall wooden gate constructed from fragments of tower shields blocks a crudely cut hole in the fence, while wooden stairs lead down the side of the rock face.

The stairs. Until they collapse from under us, of course. When we get to the gate we'll need to open it quickly. Who can bust that open for us?

Unfortunately, Carson just fails to notice a shifting stair until it is too late got a 17, DC18! and three vials of something swings down on a rope from atop the wall.
