Johnny does not sit in the chair but perc: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (3) = 9

Grel makes space for the stranger to leave.
perception2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Say Alcie, who did we just kick out of their seat?

![]() |

Carson move into the departing mans chair.
Perception 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Interesting. I will have to talk to her later.
Perception 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Carson gets right to the point when Alcie asks about the mayor,
The mayor has asked us to look into the disappearance of your apprentice and several others around town. We thought we could start here since we are new in town and needed a place to stay. The mayor only told us the names of the people missing but did not know much about them. What can you tell us about Morvinarr Albusin?"

![]() |

While waiting for Johnny to respond
Come on Carsoon, do you think Alcey here would know anything of anything. Shoot her being a young welp, wet behind the ears, she probably couldn't tell you more than her favorite bed time story. Kaya says this drawing it out like a cats fur on needles, rubbing it in.
doing the classic movie, ooohhh yeeaaa so hyped!! Finally get to try :)))
diplomacy if needed for this, just save time: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

GM Elberion |

Alcie responds curtly to Grel, "Hadleigh, Hadleigh Parkes."
She then raises an eyebrow at Carson's words, "What's Sandra at, bringin' in meddlers? If'n that lad weren't so handy he'd be a waste o' space. Now, Saringallow don't need meddlers and witchcraft anytime soon. What y' wantin' round these parts?"
Seeing as she is most definitely not a young welp, Alcie rolls her eyes at Kay's banter but she does not seem especially offended.

Johnny answers Kay from earlier and turns is head ninety degrees towards her while keeping his body another way and shrugs his shoulders. Beats me? Then turns his head back again.

![]() |

@Johnny, Kayan's eyes widen!
Grel, something is fishy with how she speaks and all Kayan whispers
Aid Another Sense Motive to Grel, if equal 10 receive +4: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6

![]() |

Hold your horses there Alsa, did you just say there be someone else here the mayor brought, a useful lad? What you mean witchcraft anytime soon? Was there some? Kayan looks around the room like witchcraft is around her, slightly wide eyed still, maybe do to Johnny's weird 90 degree trick too.
Kayan leans forward and pulls out a gold coin Do you know some good bed time stories girl, maybe something useful? Kayan looks at her companions my friends here can tell you what we want in around here as you say
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

GM Elberion |

Alcie furrows her brow at Kay's outburst.
She'n dun makin' nowt sense.
Her face reddens when Kay proffers a coin to loosen her tongue, Y'can pay when t'scram arrives. Y'ken." she barks and promptly turns on her heal and marches off into the kitchen.

GM Elberion |

If you think a meeting with an informant has gone poorly, you can always try again later after finding out more about them and trying a few other informants.

![]() |

Grel polishes off his tankard and sets it on the table.
Well. Our first dead end. Let's start working the list. We should visit the cleric next and come back to Alcie when we've made some headway.

![]() |

"Hopefully she will still let us stay here. I will go talk to her and then we can set off to see the priest."
Carson gets up and heads off to look for Alcie.
When he finds her he says, "I apologize for the behavior of Kayan. She tends to be very direct when she wants something. I am not sure why the mayor asked us to look into this issue. We are new to town and might be staying for a long time. We just want to help in any way we can. We are going to be asking questions around town about those that are missing. I hope that we can find them in good health but at the very least maybe we can stop anyone else from going missing."
"We still need a place to stay for a few days until we can find a more permanent arrangement. Are the rooms still available?"

![]() |

Lets not go there Harada, look at this scarred face and ugly body ... I've lost more than most.. Kayan is trying to adjust her already horrible clothes style and fussing over things that can't be fixed upon her persons[/b]

GM Elberion |

"Hopefully she will still let us stay here. I will go talk to her and then we can set off to see the priest."
Carson gets up and heads off to look for Alcie.

"We still need a place to stay for a few days until we can find a more permanent arrangement. Are the rooms still available?"
Alcie shrugs, "I've got time for Sandra, don't you fear. You gents'll be in pairs an' the lass gets some peace an' quiet."
Before Carson can leave, she steps in his way, "So, what's y' name, eh, fella? An' what did bring yuse t' Saringallow?"
![]() |

Carson smiles and replies, "My name is Carson. We are here at the request of a scholar in Absalom. He pays us to find rare books, tomes, and historical scrolls throughout the Inner Sea. He has sent us here because he has heard that the mayor has a unique collection in her library. When we went to see her she pushed this investigation onto us. We feel that she will be more willing to help us with the books if we first help her with her investigation.
He leans in a little closer and lowers his voice, "I think that she feels that since we don't have any preconceived notions about those who are missing, or the town in general, that we will have a better chance of success."
Standing up and returning to a normal tone, "Thank you for the rooms. I will let my companion know that that they are available."

GM Elberion |

bluff roll please, Carson
The rooms are small and plain; they are also clean and snug. For those who want to clean up, the washroom is downstairs to the rear: heating water from the same fires as the kitchen, and the privy is an outhouse across a small herb garden, which helps to buffer the tavern from the smell.
So, what's the next step in your investigation?

![]() |

Grel waits by the tavern door, anxious to make some progress in our investigations.
I'm ready to follow up on the cleric lead.

GM Elberion |

As you pass through Saringlallow toward the temple of Erastil, it is clear that this is not the kind of town where people close their doors, shutters their windows and keep off the streets when strangers approach.
Oh no, Saringallow' residents close their doors, shutters their windows and keep off the streets all the time.
The temple is one of the largest and oldest structures in town. The space is dedicated to the needs of the people, rather than the needs of the temple’s staff: the infirmary and housing areas for the poor dwarf the priests’ modest chambers.
As you enter a group of babies, toddlers and mothers are having some kind of social event in a large side-chamber. A stiff-backed old man with a broom indicates the infirmary when you ask for Ildris.
Inside, a man in his 40s, whip-thin and patchily bearded, smiles benevolently at your arrival, "Welcome beneath His antlers."
The room also contains five beds, three of which contain patients in various states of ill-health.

![]() |

What diagnosis do these patients have?
Also campaigns and new posts aren't showing up for a lot of people, this is a site problem, so we have to make sure we are all active and pm each other if we see someone going inactive.

![]() |

Grel looks over the patients. You have your hands full, priest.
I've been using an ifttt.com recipe to email me when the RSS feed for these threads are updated. Has been working pretty well. I've also had the gmail app on my phone do a push notification when I get an email from that source.

GM Elberion |

[Dice=bluff] d20 + 1
Alcie recognises that you are not giving the whole truth but she seems content with what you have to say, "Well, that's plenty for me. Well met, Carson: slip us a wink when y' learn 'bout that lad."

GM Elberion |

back to the present
The cleric's smile tightens and he ushers you out of the infirmary, "We all have our burdens... now, none of you look ready for the infirmary: how might I be of assistance?"

![]() |

My name is Kayan and this are me friends of sorts, we were sent by the mayor, one of my friends here she waves her hands about at nobody in particular, has the slip. We are investigating the recent tragedy that has befallen the town, and a lad, did I mention the mayor? low int and wis, lol .
Kayan looks around the priest Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
She turns to the group and claps her hands, possibly surprising everyone, and whispers in a loud voice, how did I do? Am I doing better talking to people?. Kayan totally turns her back on the priest to ask.

![]() |

Johnny looks at Harada He doesn't want to say, because it might be too horrible, he might not want the public to panic

GM Elberion |

The man freezes for a moment, baffled, then takes refuge in friendliness, "Well, well, well, isn't that interesting? The mayor, you say. It's a pleasure to meet you Kayan. I do apologise if I'm being a bit dim but... what recent tragedy is this? Which 'lad' do you speak of?"
Although he has the local accent, the priest avoids using dialect when he speaks to you.
With Johnny's words, he inclines his head quizzically, "Or, perhaps, he respects his friends' desire for privacy and discretion? Might that also be a possibility?"

![]() |

Do tell also if you need help with those two patients who seem to be ill, the hungover one some good greasy food and coffee should do the trick Kayan gives a smile or what seems to be through all the scar tissue on her face, more like beast smiling for the first time in beauty and the beast. I can tell you have your hands full, potentially I could be of assistance as she spreads her hands out and bows respectfully.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Praise the Lord for my 4 ... not 1 or 2 nor 3, but 4. Thank you God for teaching humility and holding my curses when I do roll low

GM Elberion |

Grel, would you make a diplomacy (or aid another) check? Anyone else who wants to contribute diplo/aid another checks is welcome.

![]() |

I am not sure who has the letter but let's assume that Carson has it. Maybe it will add something to the Diplomacy Check.
Carson steps forward with the letter from the mayor and lets the priest read it over.
When he is done he says, "The matter at hand is the missing apprentices. I am not sure if you have heard about this. Not only is Nolaria missing but so are 5 others from around town. He hands the priest the list of names.
"What can you tell us about the last time you saw Nolaria?"
Aid Another Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

GM Elberion |

Ildris smiles at Kay's deduction about his patients, "Between you and me, he needs some time to deal with the reason why he drank so much." His local brogue peaks through as he becomes more serious, "although I'd be right grateful if'n you've got any skill to help these two? A healer's hands are always welcome in Saringallow."
He nods more formally in response to Grel and Carson's direct way of speaking, "Nolaria? Oh, right. I just thought she was off playing traunt with her friends: a bit of youthful high-spirits. Nolaria is my ward, her parents died in the Goblinblood Wars and she's been raised in the church. She carries the Staglord in her heart as well, not just for my sake."
He warms to his theme, "She's a natural leader, really: the rest of that gang all seem to follow her lead. And she's a level-head, largely, not a risk-taker, even if she can be over-confident..."
"Sorry, you don't need to hear me ramble on." He looks more closely at the list, "These are all friends, quite a close group. You'd expect them to be off on some scheme together but maybe the mayor is right to be worried, it's been a few days now and these are good kids, on the whole."
He runs a hand through thinning hair, "Fardie told me he saw her heading into the old graveyard with Blackfeather, her pet raven. That's the last I've heard about her, that was two days ago."

GM Elberion |

The second patient stirs as you near her and shuffles round in bed to look at you, she speaks softly to avoid waking the others, "You another healer then? Come t'ave a nose at my little load afore 'e has it away?" She reveals a tumor, red raw, soft pink and big as a cat's head, clinging to her back behind her left shoulder blade. If the priest intends to cut it off, blood loss and infection risks will be high.

![]() |

Kayan thanks the rest of the team with there aid with the priest, blushes at almost falling over from her horrid social skills. She proceeds to look closely at the lady with the tumor I always have difficulty understanding the accent of people in this place ... however I hope no cutting is necessary, while I look you both over please tell me how you came by this ailment Kayan smiles in a reassuring way, being in her element.
Heal Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
In either case I'll use my Pei Zin revelation and press my hands to his chest and shoulder while singing a soft song.
Healing Hands, Hit Points Healed: 1d6 ⇒ 2
If possible would like to take a 20, and take my time on both Heal check and my Pei Zin archetype ability, Master Herbalist. If not I'll roll. Looking at the best course of action to heal the tumor, cutting, heal spells, herbs etc. If no 20 will roll, below. If cure type will work will use another healing hands (3 left, after this 2).
