Grel, you might not want to but you could use the run action and keep up with Harada.

Run affects AC?
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/combat#TOC-Run
You can run as a full-round action. If you do, you do not also get a 5-foot step. When you run, you can move up to four times your speed in a straight line (or three times your speed if you’re in heavy armor). You lose any Dexterity bonus to AC unless you have the Run feat.

Sorry did not realize I was up
Carson runs up another 30 feet and launches an arrow at the dog.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 -2 if more then 60 feet away but I thought that I had moved up before my last shot so I am not sure how far away I am.
Arrow Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Still whooping and hollering, but not having been hit, the goblin circles around the house.
Carson, we'll call that a held action until the goblin appears again.

The goblin comes around the farmhouse in a loop, whooping and hollering, charging toward the party...
Only for two arrows to lodge deeply in its torso, one from Carson, one from Johnny.
The goblin falls from the dog with a thud and the startled beast bolts into the fields.
Combat over, unless you wish to pursue the dog.

A timorous voice calls out from within, ”Who. Who’s out there.”
There is also some urgent hissing.

GM Elberion |

You here a small commotion and then, ”Daddy, it’s the people from the stream, like I told you...”
A man grunts and you hear a heavy wooden bar being shifted, then the door swings open.
A stocky man in rough, homespun clothes peers out at you, his eyes rest on the goblin on the floor with two arrows protruding from its chest, ”Well, looks like you got here at the right time. I’m right grateful. Thank you. He offers a meaty handshake to each of you.
”Come inside, get your selves a chair.”

GM Elberion |

Within you can see the shepherd from before and a thin, tall woman, her hands protectively on the boy’s shoulder.
”We might be able to put some lunch in front of you as well.”

![]() |

That is very generous of you. Grel sits if the chairs don't make him look too short. He's proud.
Do you have any idea which direction these goblins are coming from?

GM Elberion |

The boy responds to Grel, "The woods from the North, they always come down from there."
The woman nods in agreement, "Goblins sometimes come this way. Not normally so far, nor so bold as these. The woods stretch up to the mountains. All kinds of things live there, so they say."
Meanwhile the man joins Carson, looking out into the distance. After a companionable silence he asks, "You're not from Saringallow? Maybe not from Isger, I'm guessin'?"
While you talk the woman and the boy prepare food, it ends up being a thick stew, bland and heavy on potato. Alongside it, the cheese and bread are pretty tasty and certainly the highlight of the meal.
"So, what should we call you all? I'm Arshen, my son here is Carlo and my husband outside is Garreni."
RP away, but you can also just describe how much you tell the family about your experiences and the demon's bile.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
"My name is Carson. We are here investigating some things for the mayor of Saringallow."
Carson continues to examine the tracks.
"Judging by the tracks these goblins came from the south. What is in that direction?

Verathis fallows Haradas lead and says,"My name is Verathis. My well bearded college is Grel. The man with the bow and greatsword is Johnny. Carson is the man speaking to your husband." He jesturs with an open face up hand to each in there turn. "It is a pleasure to meet you, and thank you for the excellent meal."After the pleasantry his voice ,without loosing any of its soothing charm, gains an almost hungry quality,"Have you noticed any other oddities in the goblins or there mounts?"

GM Elberion |

”Um, no... we don’t usually see goblins when they move south, just signs of their passing. People round these parts look out for each other an’ being Hill country there’s always shepherds high up. They put the message out pretty quick an’ we take the sheep to the high pasture.”
Verathis realises that all of the goblins you fought have been tainted by demon’s bile. Not the goblin dogs though.
—-outside—-
The farmer looks surprised, ”Well, you’ve some more pasture and a fen, then you’re over a few streams and then it’s the river.”
—-inside—-
After a few moments, the boy pipes up, ”I seen ‘em! Seen ‘em for real. Two days ago. Funny looking things they were. Looked just like that one was chasin’ me today. I can show you where!”

Harada nearly chokes on his potato as Grel suddenly stands up but manages to swallow it down.
Harada speaks between coughs "Now...*sputter* we don't want to get the *sputter* boy hurt."
Harada gives a final big gulp and continues kneeling down at the boy's level "Any way you can just tell us? The hammah wouldn't want you getting hurt."

A description would be sufficient. But we need to solve this goblin problem and I'm ready to proceed.
Grel seem agitated as he has been with these goblins.

GM Elberion |

The boy grins, "Oh, I'm sure I'll be safe with you. I can take you there."
His mother raises an eyebrow, "It's past the best part of the day." it is indeed around 1.30pm "If you'd like, we could put you up for the night and you could prepare yourselves for the morrow?"
---outside---
The farmer scratches his chin, "We'll take the sheep to the high pasture tomorrow. Keep them an' us out of the way for a few days. Where you headed?"

![]() |

Grel fidgets a bit, atypical of a dwarf. We may rest, then. But we go after them first thing in the morning! Boy, what can you tell us about where the goblins are?
probably going to switch out a spell or two.

![]() |

---outside---
Carson stares off into the distant hoping to see something that will give him a clue as to where to go next.
"My guess is that we will head south. We have to find the sorce of the demon bile that is infecting the goblins.

![]() |

Yes thank you Arshen

GM Elberion |

Okay, anyone want to do anything before sleeping?

GM Elberion |

The boy jabbers excitedly about his experience, “Four days ago, I was chasing a lamb that strayed past the fence. Out of nowhere, I saw two ugly, green little things out in the clearing. They were talking some nasty, jabbering language I didn’t understand. One of them, the one wrinkled like a raisin, was all scarred up. The other had a big blade for chopping tied to the end of a pole. They were arguing back and forth, and then they walked off in different directions. Once I was sure they’d gone, I ran home and told my ma and pa.
They was up to the North-West, toward the stream. In the clearing of that little dell."

![]() |

Thank you, child. We'll take care of those nasty goblins. Grel will bed down on a rock if he can find one.

Ink Wakes up in the night as is often the case. He heads to relieve Carson for watch. Then he comes upon an insurmountable challenge. The door is closed. He will pace and tries to figure out a solution until Carson opens the door.
Ink takes second watch

GM Elberion |

The night proves uneventful.
In the morning, Gareni and his family press food upon you (cheese, bread, a few apples) and wish you well. Promising to put you up when you are on your way back.
They are going to take the flock to the high pasture and you see Arshen saddle up sturdy-looking horse and fills its saddlebags with supplies.
"It can be hard on the old rams, but not as hard as being set upon by goblins. We'll stay out for a few days. If you come by before we return, feel free to stay in the house."
As you are all about to set off, Gareni puts his arm around his son's shoulders, "Thanks again for helping the boy. Which way you headed?"
