GM Cwethan's The Cost of Enlightenment (Inactive)

I'll be running a (weighted) lottery for recruitment late Sunday night, so post here before then with the character you want to unveil the secret that so distressed the Roidirans!

I'll be looking for introductory posts to get going on Monday.

My expectations are in line with most of the games I've seen, but here they are:

I expect players who can reliably post once per day.
I care a lot more about moving the game forward with those who are posting and interacting with the story and each other than waiting for everyone to have their say, so I will commonly move forward with a two-votes system - especially if it's a "which way next?".
I will try to make at least one substantive post/day as well as reactive posts as appropriate.
If I cannot do this for some reason, I will post to let you know that if at all possible.
If you disappear during combat or other decision points and hold things up I will skip you (or bot you if sufficient botting instructions are in your profile) and move on. If you make a habit of this I may take further steps, and will certainly be less likely to pick you for future sessions.
Please no dice only posts. It sucks the fun out of this for me.

I have never run or played this session. I have 3 characters in the 1-5 range: 1L sorc; 3L rogue; 4L hydrokineticist. I would love to join with any of these 3.

I'd like to join in. Not sure of character yet.

Level 5 Halfling Feyspeaker Druid who just completed Ire of the Storm in Campaign Mode and needs to be leveled up. Prior to that she did Confirmation PbP.

If we're doing CORE I have several characters level 1-5 to choose from.

If we're doing low tier I have several characters level 1-3 to choose from.

PFS Classic!

I've got two low-tier characters who just finished up their inaugural sessions:

Avasir Farisen, human wizard

Arfsnarf Ah'sneeze, goblin alchemist
If you want to check post history, there will be none for this character as he was designated for credit behind the pregen: Mogmurch.

Oh, wow. I thought all of the Goblin Boons had been used up years ago.

I have characters in either tier but I think the ones I would be most into playing for this are

Glenn (Grippli Alchemist 2)

Blondie (Vanara Gunslinger 3)

Hanataro Yamada (Dhampir Paladin 4)

The only way to play a Goblin in Pathfinder Society is to have a boon.

They were given out a long time ago and, to my knowledge, have all either been used or are out of circulation at the least.

Not 100% sure the differences between Classic and Core's yet, but I've got a level 3 Bard That'd be game for a new scenario.

A half elf scurries over, quickly standing in line for the adventure. "C- count me-e in too!" he stammers, shakingly nervously.

First time Society player, but I've got a Lvl 1 Orc/Draconic Sorcerer that would love to get in the game!

Since Lynn is a Kitsune, definitely Classic. Core just means Core Ruleset. Basically meaning Core Races/Classes only.

Playing a Goblin in PFS requires a race boon. If you don't have a race boon, you can't play it. Similar with a lot of the more exotic races. There are some exceptions like Kitsune, Wayang, Tengu, Ifrit, Oread, Sylph, Undine, and a handful of others are available to everyone right now.

Edit: As a quick addendum, some people have a stack of race boon characters. That's because, traditionally, race boons are given out to GMs who run events at conventions. If you do a lot of those, you end up with a stack of random race characters.

I am interested, level 3 Inquisitor (Sanctified Slayer).

I have a 4th level bard.

Two 2nd level magi as well and a 1.1 dwarven inquisitor

2nd level warpriest or 3rd level rogue, reporting for duty!

1.2 lv. Cleric Eamon Valda (a fun Taldian Cleric with a bit of a chip on his shoulder)or
1.1 Bloodrager Makon Grimug ( This character has played Solstice Scar)

*EDIT* FYI to all players on this recruitment thread, whether or not I get chosen to play. I will run this adventure again sometime after-GM Cwethan's run (say end of Jan. to start) So anyone who misses out on this one; will get preference on seats come the start of my run in a couple months..( I had planned to run it after game-day II was over but, instead I think I'm going to season 5 Libary of the Lion first.)

Hrm... I did not realize. Reading Additional Resources again...

To create an aasimar, catfolk, changeling, dhampir, fetchling, grippli, goblin, ratfolk, samsaran, suli, tiefling, vanara, or vishkanya character, you must have a Chronicle sheet that opens the race as a legal option at character creation.

So I guess that doesn't just mean have the character on a chronicle sheet? Oh well, I still have the other character ready to go for this.

It's a bummer to not be able to play the goblin you were planning on making, but you can still use the credit from their earlier adventures by rebuilding them, which you can do for free anytime before playing a game at level 2 or higher.

And since you haven't posted as Arfsnarf yet, you can still change the name to whatever your next idea is!

Ah, I see. I was unsure if I could change the name since the chronicle sheet specified it. It's seeming like as long as I keep the character ID I should be okay with a rebuild.

I'm still submitting my other wizard character, but I'll post back here if I get the rebuild done in time.

Yup, thanks. I had been focusing on referencing the additional resources and missed this basic statement.

For high tier, I have a Level 3 Cleric Ecclesiathurge.

For low tier, I have a Level 1 Catfolk Bloodrager Prowler at World's End.

I've run this seven times, but I've never gotten to play it.

Always check back on that document after GenCon each year. They occasionally swap races in and out of the list. Not every year, but often enough that it's worth noting.

I'm still hoping to finish a rebuild of the (non-playable) goblin character as a Halfling Alchemist. Thankfully I think this minimizes modification, but the background blurb will be somewhat different.
