No, that's cool. I suppose it makes sense that he has a 'range' which he defends. Perhaps that's why there are so many other boars about;
1-they have been Sired by this fertile boar.
2-they have to leave his area once they are grown.
Just making sure as well that if/when we become an organised barony we won't over-fish like the British in the North Sea.
GM Aria
Hehe, the AP doesn't take ecology into account. I'm pretty sure that boars kill themselves for territory as often as you've killed them for attempting to attack you. Or... well, the group killed one because they thought it might be tuskgutter because it killed another boar that got into its territory.
Tam Hawke
lol makes me think of our rl group we kept rolling wolves and my wolf shaman would walk up talk to them and negate whole 11 sum wolves haha Gm ended up taking them totally out of random encounters table so now west forested half of our kingdom is mine and I say its full of all those wolves in the forest lol
Ali Harper
It's alright, the description was great. Ali is just a bleeding heart and making sure that the drag marks weren't from a person.
So my position is to mark the area, using rocks/logs and come back when we are exploring this hex. Maybe looking for it and killing it if we run across it.
Woot my crappy skill rolling (& sling use) continues :(
Stanislaw Quill
Stanis prefers to take it down NOW, rather than have it come and help itself to sleeping companions at a later occasion. Unless he somehow knows that random encounters go away to never be seen or heard from again :P
By prepare, Stanis meant buff before combat. So that everyone are rearing to go and we can focus on dealing damage rather than fapping about.
Also, we can take 10 on tracking this bugger. He is huge, which means he is easily tracked.
Ali Harper
No, that's cool. We can follow the tracks then (or at least you can - with Mord & my rolls sheesh) and corner the thing. Ok, who wants the bonds with Ali (Mord & ...?). It allows her to avoid combat CLW that draw AoO. And probably 1 Shield of Faith spell.
Stanislaw Quill
I only have Enlarge Person that will work. Protection from Evil is no good against a bug. I say we lay the buffs out on the warrior, and keep him up. Since the centipede is huge, we don't get penalties for firing into melee. Meanwhile, I will create a silent image of bushes to let Tam sneak around it and get into flank.
GM Aria
You said so at the table at Oleg's where damn near everyone was (except james and kesten who were conveniently away).
Edit
woops, my bad it was james who said it. Also, there's a fifth bandit I forgot about. Ali stabilized the one Tam near killed and I'm assuming brought him down and healed him as well.
Gotta think on that one a bit.
Ali Harper
Ali is still trying to hide her sex, but with the way my rolls go; unsuccessfully. Well she is not trying too hard, but still making the effort; because although the party affords her some security - they could easily be all killed (as we shall now see ;P ).
Anyways that's another miss, 3 in a row - stupid point blank shot.
Bah, Exalted characters are hard to make (esp. when you don't know the system).
GM Aria
okie, retroactive then.
Ali Disguise for first day 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
vs. Bandits Perception
Lem 1d20 ⇒ 15
Hans 1d20 ⇒ 6
Jess 1d20 ⇒ 16
Vlade 1d20 ⇒ 17
JD 1d20 ⇒ 3
Ali Disguise for Morning 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
vs. Bandits Perception
Lem 1d20 ⇒ 10
Hans 1d20 ⇒ 20
Jess 1d20 ⇒ 20
Vlade 1d20 ⇒ 17
JD 1d20 ⇒ 3
Okie, in the morning, Vlade Jess and Hans know that Ali is a girl. Replace Lem's Ma'am's with Sir when you read them over. Gooder enough?
Ali Harper
That's fine, I was mainly keeping it up for the appearance of other random bandits and Ali like the way Mordecai treats her as a little brother. Fearing that he may shun her, or be upset if he finds out. So long as Ragathiels having fun with it too...
I am fine with the bandits gossiping; there worse than fish-wives so i expect they all know anyway.
Ali Harper
So aria did my dagger hit? i dont think anyone said as much haha just thought id ask as Tam is now almost peeing his pants since I saw that damage thank god I have 15 ac lol
Hi have you updated your stats since we're level 2 now? And 5 of the damage would have gone to me so you would be up (probably).
Ali Harper
Ah, action economy how we love you (until we're outnumbered). Although that wouldn't have saved Tam if he'd been hit.
Ali Harper
I'm leaving it up to someone else if they want to harvest the poison. The way my dice luck is with Ali i would end up drinking the gland by mistake ;p
So Ali is happy to move on. The plains/forests carrion-eaters will reabsorb it, although she will say a little prayer to nature.

** spoiler omitted **
I was just taking your initial -"@Ali, the NPCs are there for people to interact with. They're not meant to be window dressin'." as criticism of my comment about Kayla; talking to the bandits and writing style in general.
To be honest I am looking forward to talking to more 'normal' characters at Olegs where Ali can drop her guard. Especially as she is a bit more established as one of the group.
BTW, sorry for getting Kayla's name wrong initially; just i have so many NPC's to keep track of and I am rubbish with names anyway.
GM Aria
All
Kingmaker is a very "long game" game. So the more I can get you guys interested in fleshing out your NPCs, the better, because unless you do something very very stupid, they're in it with you for the long haul as well. Kayla can easily step into the high priestess position or the councilor position, as can Jhod, depending on which style ya'll will prefer.
I have to come up with a name and story for JD "John Doe" but, depending on how much time and effort you want to sink into your reformed bandits, they could be useful to you as well, picking them up as part of your experts/adepts what have you when you get leadership later, if ya'll are interested.
These are the type of experiences I didn't get at table and am making an effort to provide to you guys through PbP because there's no real excuse not to, based on how much more slow the pace is here.
Ali Harper
You are doing a great job with fleshing out the PC's. Personally I am finding them interesting, especially with the bandit's group dynamics.
To get a better idea of some of the NPC's possibly we could take 1 or 2 with us when exploring? Thus having more interaction on the road, of course this depends on the ratio of Base(Olegs) to exploration time. As well as the ability to keep them safe, fed and reasons for taking them (ie. Kesten seemed to want to get out more).
The great thing is there isn't really a strict timetable, so we can more at a sensible pace - learning more about the bandits motivations.
GM Aria
Your OOC knowledge is not valid. Your OOC knowledge and your GM run things differently than this GM runs her game and her NPCs.
So :P
There's really nothing keeping Kesten there but GM fiat. I mean, he's higher level than you guys at this point, the fact that he stays is just plain silly to me, because he's not a lawful dude, so he would not feel obligated to.
GM Aria
Well, you're headed back to Oleg's with a bunch of bandits and new information about the Stag Lord. As well as some shinny new skills.
I'll let you guys hang out there as long as you want, or until you get net again, because I want everyone to have a say in where you go next and what you'll be doing.
Tam Hawke
Yeah so we almost had a pvp moment tonight when 4 giant eagles almost attacked us and here my druid calms them down and our rouge now lone level assassin god I hate that class begins to get ready to attack the eagle leader as I sit there trying to show it we mean no harm and are friends
oh and want to know here reasoning? oh well I died by a roc so I hate all giant birds now
And she kept getting ready and I was about to say You attack it and I will kill you so pissed at this group *sigh*
Tam Hawke
Lol i know i know i am ready to leave the group just tired of the b@~##%#* they try and pull.
But really like my char just wish I could actually rp with him though I now know how broken wolf shaman's are lol
anyways we get a week off from them so who knows haha but yeah I had two decisions on that pvp either just leave group with char him not wanting to serve any lord willing to kill animals just because or attack here with my huge wolf form haha
GM Aria
I did the same thing with an invisible foe in our KM game. Didn't want him sneaking upon us, so every round I five footed and cast the cantrip, so he'd make a splash if he ran by. Course, he just ran away because we couldn't spot him, after he'd poisoned our rogue, or... someone, don't remember, but it was a good hit plus poison.
From then on, my cleric always had purge invisibility prepared, assuming that that freakazoid thing (the quickling) was going to come by and try to assassinate her. And it could have, easily, in a single hit.
Stanislaw Quill
I know it is early to start city construction, but what the heck, we need housing for the reformed people, and Stanis wants a proper study, not having to sit on a bunk and scribe scrolls in candlelight.
Especially next level when I am going to take Craft Wondrous Item, where I will be forced to sit for days at a time making stuff.
Ali Harper

Well at least that reason is slightly better than "to get XP & the birds lewt LOLs". But yeah that sounds annoying.
GM Aria
hey guys. I am a bit hesitant to continue with the big altercation scene in the IC because well, James still has yet to get up with the webernets and I know he has some interest in Kesten.
Soooo... I am going to "pause" for here.
However
if you have personal business with an NPC that you wish to remain private, behind spoilers, I will take that here at this time.
Ali Harper
No problem that is a good idea. Of course,...
After helping out with the evening meal, Ali feels satisfied. 'It is good to be useful, despite my... disability. Or rather in spite of it I feel I have to work harder. Maybe I can set a good example for these 6 misguided fellows. Anyway I must speak to Oleg.' Ali leaves the dishes to be cleansed by another, as she seeks out Oleg.
"Master Oleg, I haven't really had a chance to speak to you yet. I am Ali, I apologise for my disguise; as I am sure your wife has told you I am female. It's just sometimes it's necessary when travelling alone.'[/i] she says trying to maintain her dignity whilst being sincere. Ali's pale misty eyes look intently at him.
[b]"Again, I must also apologise for bringing these men to your homestead. I cannot imagine how distressing it must be, for you and your lady wife. But it is for a good cause, they can pay for their crimes by helping you improve your post. If they fall out of line tell me and I will deal with them." Ali says a steely edge invading her voice. Feel free to make any rolls. Bluff? Diplomacy?
GM Aria
"Aye, lass. You've the approval of me wife and her sister, though that goat," he shakes his head. "Ain't done no harm on me or mine. And none should condemn ye for holdin' your tongue with thieves and rapists about.
"As for the lads, the Priest there has a way with 'em. That Matis'll do anything that comes from his mouth, well... Just about anythin' that comes from any of us, such as it concerns the daily bread. Reluctant to take the blade again, but he'll stand watch with his bow. And Devlin and Marcus makin' progress with the 'paults. Even got plans for improvements.
"What we lack be hands to complete the tasks, but then... the priest said the Good Lord would provide, and here ya'll are again, with just that. Be good of 'em to hunt and provide for all these new mouths, but, I'll let the good Priest see to that, being his Lord's domain."
Oleg smiles and places a comforting hand on your shoulder. "You and the lads be all right, lass. The skinny fella can talk wise, but he ain't lordin' over none, and 'tis appreciated."
