Hahaha. James and my bard of calistria would get along exceptionally well.

Very well. I will think on some Calistria like questions to ask you in the morning time to kinda flesh out how far you want to go with that in the story, as you should probably know that there is a cathedral to the sacred sting in Pitax, which will be your neighbors soon enough.

Barring major rewrites though, Calistria has zero presence in the AP as written until we are like lv10. But I assume we will afford a brothel for James to run on the side when we get down to construction.

Oh, and when you say dark past, I assume it is more a John Marston approach, and less brooding teenager who insists nobody understands him, rite? :P

Male Human Cleric 1

Arrg. Stupid meetings running long today. Will be working on the questionnaire a bit momentarily.

I just want to give you an intro that will make you feel compelled to continue with the story, and sorta set up what's coming in an appropriate way. Plus, if I get all of you with Stannis, you'll be super prepared for anything...

Male Half-Elf Inquisitor of Calistria 1

His backstory is his past, he's quite over it at this point. As for a Calistrean presence well.... what else am I here for? To spread the faith of course. Let's just hope my free men don't clash too much with the ultra law of you Key worshippers.

I appreciate people who don't make their backstories a shackle to keep them from progressing as a character.

Wow... I'm pretty much at the end of really intelligent thought for the day.

Good to hear. And while Stanis worship Abadar, he also understands society's need for vices. Int 19 is not unifiable with believing that religious dogma is a realistic appraisal of how the world truly work. He certainly dislikes excess, and would never allow chaos and indulgence is the rule *coughPitaxcough*.

Hells, Stanis even secretly wants to hire a prostitute, to see what the big deal is. But he will not admit to this openly, and dismisses it as a side-effect of being a male in his prime. >_>

*compiles list of level 1 expert prostitutes to send at the party to overhear their secret plans of the bedroom and report back to uh... crap... what was his stupid rogue's name, even?...*

Oh god. Don't remind me.

"Samael". And he does not exist. Unless you want to use him as a villain, being a murderous, undercutting, strife-sowing arse-hat.

And if I find someone in our council prattling state affairs with pros, I am gonna spam suggestion on everyone until we get said person publicly flogged. That is one of the WORST premises for espionage I have heard of, and why I shot it down in my campaign. Calistria, a major goddess NOTORIOUS for her deception and fascination with vengance, whose main followers are prostitutes. Just like you do not attempt to bribe a paladin of Abadar, you do NOT tell vital information to a prostitute. It is heinously retarded, and if such a person gets into our council, Stanis will flip a table, as soon as he learns a spell that allows him to do that :P

Correction, Stanis will quaff a potion of bull's strength, and then flip a table.

Yes, I know what time it is, and I will be going back to bed shortly.

Male Human Universalist 2

Made a post of Stanis arriving, "magically" being equipped, as I am sure Stanis going to his closet and getting his gear, and haggling over trail rations does not warrant a separate post. The post underscored his lack of experience, and difficulty to charge ahead into the unknown, reflecting his low charisma/confidence.

Yes, Stanis. I will highlight in the post for Ladislaus that I am pretty sure that the first thing that the Lord Mayor would do before putting up these signs all over the city would be to inform the temple of abadar of what he's up to, so I would assume that an intelligent wizard is seeking to get one for himself would nab all the gear he needs to do so.

The brothers are escaping from something that's happened recently. I wanted to give them an intro that would allow them to react to that, so it's not as fresh a trauma when you're all getting together. Yes, it'll likely still be awkward, but, it was something I figured needed to be done.

And I think that they enjoyed and appreciated their introduction, and yep, as soon as I get the word, Ladislaus, you and finally James are going to get your spotlight, if you wish, or James can just be magically transported to the office, too.

All good by me. A pbp does not have the same requirement for combat or at least skill challenges as a TT game in order to keep people interested, and not reading magazines or derailing. In stark contrast, one need time to establish character, which is much more central.

Looking forward to be able to interact with someone though.

Allright. I will have a think on what I now know of Ladislaus's and James history and get an introduction for them up before the evening, when I know they are likely to be active.

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

Yay now I have time finally I get to sit on my but for 6 hours waiting for bro to get out of clas :)

Waiting on a Vulf action in RotRL??

Or.. you know, study. Some people do that in college, as well. :P

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

I did post action I killed on methinks hehe

Sorry, I am not comfortable proceeding as we are very close to getting a full party in on this thing.

Have any questions I can answer in the meantime? Any thoughts about how I can help you develop your character?

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

well do you have any thoughts on how I can develop him? So far I have groundwork done on him but in need of help lol

Also that dream is driving me crazy lol any hints haha?

Tam:

I'm actually thinking of changing out a few of the NPCs that in our game did not really feature much beyond the first few levels with another that might interest you guys more, to kind of open up the world a bit. Also because I recognized from your answers that Tam needs a positive female influence in his life at this point that isn't his mother.

As for the dream, I will not say. I don't see your brother hitting me up for spoilers about the hot nakey chick in his dream. That's something you and Tam are going to have to figure out on your own. Or with help. Up to you.

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

GM Aria:

1.lol but evil chicks are always hot lol

2.But but but but.....

Tam:

Good girls are hot, too. And I as I have said before, I do not want to run a moral gray campaign. Evil things are evil. You're meant to destroy them. You have a little different perspective on what your brother is going through, as you're used to the criminal, scummy element, and have become, for the most inured to it.

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

GM Aria:
im teasing aria :) I dont like people who want to be evil either as such I dont play them

All right, James. C'mon down! That's four out of five party members who will soon be entering Lord Mayor Sellemius's office to receive their charters.

Male Half-Elf Inquisitor of Calistria 1

Alright, sorry for the lateness. Character equipment and questionaire coming up. Planning on reskinning questionnaire to make it into a questionnaire the church had him fill out.

que what? Calistria's temple asking questions about its members to keep them in some sort of file?

What chaotic church do you think you're working for, bub?

Male Half-Elf Inquisitor of Calistria 1

Chaotic doesn't mean stupid. The more you know of someone the easier it is to know if they fit. Probably not a good record system though.

I would just assume that the church of lust and deception would... oh, I dunno, employ those methods to interview their newest member.

But, that's just the way we've been playing it thus far. My bard's been interviewed by quite a few priests, and various lay persons of the clergy in her day.

Do as you will :)

Male Half-Elf Inquisitor of Calistria 1

I don't see her as deception at all, that's Norgorbur's domain. Anywho, James is done, any questions/thoughts?

Aaah, yeah... my mistake, that would have been the agent of Norberger that tried to teach my bard that. Ha ha.

Trickery, though...

Man, now that I think on it, that campaign stopped being light and fun a really long time ago. Still playing in it though, coz I love political puzzles. :P

Looks good. Sorry I didn't include your girl in the intro post. And yeah... Since it's about 2-3 o'clock in game right now, I assume you guys will get to know each other some, and kick back til morning before you set off to the AP, so you can meet this girl if you need to.

Alternatively, you can let her know you plan to leave in your introductory post, too.

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

What we waiting on?

I thought I would allow James to introduce himself at the office. And get an idea where Ladislaus is and how he wants to be brought in.

Other than that...

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

Sorry didnt mean to sound snippy just having bad day, headache and now dealing with another game thats pissin me off. There telling me I have to pay the party out of my own pocket for the privilege to use a spellbook we just found, im only wizard soooo lol

Anyways and yes I see we waiting on james but wasnt he own couple hours ago ? and he didnt post on the rp thread? or am I missing a post?

Yes, I understand that things come up. As I said, I will kick this puppy off proper when we get everyone in the same spot. Then we can do some more shopping if the Wizard insists (and I assume that he will) or... say goodbye to restov. Or not, and get ya'll on yer way to the AP proper.

That's pretty s&*+ about that game, btw. They tried to tell me some bovine feces like that in the bad party, that if someone took a ring of protection, say, the squishies, the squishies would owe the party a fraction of the cost of the item...

Some people are silly.

Speaking of, I fully encourage you guys to just share items that are most useful to your characters like sane, rational adults and not bicker over coppers.

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

you can count on it, Tam finds a magical sword, he has no use for it he passes it to the fighter, tam finds a magical whip he passes it to james, tam finds nice dagger tam keeps it lol kinda how i operate yeah I might roleplay like Tam will try and extort people but he really doesn't mean it

HINT HINT! will never actually try and take money from you all

Male Human Fighter/2

No objections on my end GM. Plus, Mordecai's code of honor wouldn't allow him to extort or demand compensation in monerary fashion if someone wanted a magical item. Now if it was a bastard sword or something like that, he'd feel a little justified in claiming it, making sure he fulfills its previous owner's quest, unless they were evil, then he just takes the sword and tries to make some good out of it.

he also knows how his brother is, so he won't mind tam's joking around. he just doesn't like tam's gambling as a part of his character lolz

Male Human Universalist 2

And we Abadar people are obligated by dogma to focus on cohesion rather than personal gain. However, Stanislaw will try to get a certain level of balance. Like if we find a sword worth 8000 gold, he will not craft as much stuff for that person, and insist that the "disposable" wealth obtained goes towards balancing out the distribution.

He is painfully aware that a martial characters are much more item-dependent than casters though, and will take that into consideration. Where a wizard is happy with a headband of intelligence and rudimentary protective items, a fighter needs armor, weapon, strength items, protection items etc.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

Forgive me for being dragged into other things. Posting in a second.

No problemo, Ryuko. I had faith in ya. :)

Male Half-Elf Inquisitor of Calistria 1

Big post up.

Excellent! Is a bit late for my thinky bits to weave all four of you into the the plot at the moment, and I cannot think why a cleric of Abadar would be late to his own wedding, so unless you all object quite sternly, I will save the movin' along post til the morning.

Male Human Cleric 1

Blarg, apologies for the constant delays in writing up Ladislaus--it's been one of those weeks. I should (Barring unforseen circumstances) be able to finish the questions/backstory tomorrow. *crosses fingers in the hopes that no meetings pop up out of nowhere* And hopefully the internet won't eat my 33 questions edits again...

At any rate, I can get a post up momentarily, if you'd like, with Ladislaus rushing from his office to the Mayor's office for the charter signing. Just let me know if you want a post or if you'd rather wait until sometime tomorrow.

Male Human Universalist 2

Ursian, huh? *knowing smirk*

Thought I would toss up the suggestion that people can godmode Stanis if they want, since I live in Norway, and go to bed around 2-4pm american time, and when I get up I mostly have to head right to work, which lasts until the early morning hours. Which means I will (except weekends) miss the "sweet spot" posting hours where the bulk of the party is able to advance the story.

He is determined yet timid, extremely intelligent, prefers to go into anything prepared, and loathes losing sight of a situation. His typical nightmare is suddently being in a court room, and not having prepared the case, not knowing what is going on, or being quizzed in something completely unknown to him. I am amping it up a little in the beginning, as I like to have visual change in the character. Overcoming weakness and growing is kidna essential to a character IMO.

I am going to kick up a post tonight, I think. Right now I am at work, between rushes.

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

Hey did you want me and mordecai to start walking into the mayors office maybe see james and interact a little?

Postified Gentlemen.

Ladislaus, feel free to arrive fashionably late. I'll give you a prompt if you desire to explain why you were delayed, or, you can come up with your own. I am pretty good at running with things.

Somehow i missed your post before I went to bed last night. That is my bad. I apologize.

Male Human Cleric 1

Dammit Aria!

Kidding--no worries; I was pretty tired when I posted that myself. I saw the prompt about Ladislaus working on cases--he'll keep working away as I work up his questions and so forth. Yay the need to get things on paper (as it were), eh?

Should be done by 10 tonight, hopefully. For now, back to work.

Male Human Fighter/2

Just for character appearance's sake, how tall would u say James is? :)

Male Human Rouge Knife Fighter

Hey um james you know your not actually hiding those things up your sleeves very well lol thought id mention it. Sorry im still learning sleight of hand as well and while you can use it untrained only to hide things on your body as a dex check its just a 13 for you. Im just saying lol

Male Human Universalist 2

@James: Did you consciously avoid spells that require spell components to avoid having a spell component pouch (which I can see a heretic archetype dude might want to do), or did you forget to get one for later use?

awh wow. the warriors start sniffing each other's bottoms and try to assert dominance, completely ignoring the wizard that could easily diminish their abilities with a few intelligent spells. :P

I'd like to say the forme but... the latter. Also James has them in his sleeve, not necessarily hidden, just close at hand.
