I am contemplating rebuilding Stanis a little in line with a houserule I am implementing in my TT games to counter the insane power of Single Attribute Dependant casters: "Max 18 in any stat when starting".
You never see a rogue with 20 dex, a fighter with 20 str or a cleric with 20 wis. But every wizard in every game I have ever hosted, or been part of, the wizards and sorcs have had 20s...
And I am not sure if I am doing a very good job of conveying the poor cha, I might put the extra points from lowering int into cha, and rather make him eclectic instead of scared and bland.
Or in dex, so I can hit stuff.
What say you?
@Mordecai: Not to nitpick, but Restov IS in Rostland. South Rostland even. Though south of there you do have a few dozen miles of open lands, before the Tors of Levenies. Which is a chain of mountains that are more or less impassable due to the high density of large flying monsters like wyverns, rocs and dragons.

I think James was investigating options. We have Stanis suggesting ferry at the moment, James is exploring options, and... I am not sure where you two fall, but I can re-read.
Okay, quick show of hands in here, and I can drum up a starting post
Ferry, buy horses and ride there, or just telemaport on down to the AP without discussing this stuff at all?
GM Aria
Okie doke. I take that as three votes for the ferry, with James's player knowing that there are horses to be had later, we can move on.
I'll be working on a proper introductory post to this AP telling what ya'll will be seeing on the way down sorta glossing over the bulk of the detail since most of it occurs in later books, but might be interesting to note when you actually start setting up our little "kingdom" in the second book. Basic, "you stop here and meet some people doing x, and bunk down for the night" type stuff. If you think it is relevant that your characters would open up your hearts to each other in the 4-5 days of travel down there, go ahead and post some interaction stuff if you like, but otherwise...
Sometime this evening look for an introductory post for this AP and lets start this thang slangin'!

James, roll your fortitude save for Herpaghonnasyphilytis-AIDS. :P
I will reply to this properly in the morning. My brain is one big sponge right now. Also, I gotta figure how I'm gonna run Ladislaus in the mean time.
So, yeah, instead of posting something garbage now, there will be... quality content in the morning!
GM Aria
For the moment, Ladislaus is mute, unless I feel as though you guys aren't considering something in planning that may be important. If it comes to combat and he hasn't checked in, I'm just going to have him buff and heal when needed. I know that is not the awesomest role for a cleric, but short of a complete character, it's what I got. :(
Edit While I'm double posting, is any one else considering taking leadership? I'd like to know now so I can plot how I am going to introduce worthy NPCs so you have more choices than... what is given in the books, which are woefully few...
GM Aria
Thank you very much for the heads up. I intend to design cohort worthy NPCs to kinda fill in on whatever you might lack, without stepping on your toes. I intend for one of Ladislaus's cohort choices to be this sorceress I made up who, well, while having more charisma than all of you I intend would primarily just sit in your castle keeping things running smoothly while you're away. She's lawful, and would be loyal to Ladislaus. Assuming he chooses her.
There's plenty of burly bulky warrior types in the AP's NPCs, but I can come up with another, I think, but yeah, I'll need to think on it a while.
Stanislaw Quill
Dang James, I am almost tempted to prepare "Ghost Sound" to do this now.
(though this one might be more appropriate when Oleg is chasing your around the trading post with a pitchfork :P
GM Aria
Yeah... I'm cool with how you're playing James for now with the tasteful implications, but do note that I'm gonna have to keep track of this stuff, too. I mean, if you're going to get busy with lots of different ladies when you're establishing your kingdom, it might come back on you.
Plus, there's your fellow party members who might express discomfort.
That said, I'm a lady who plays a bard priestess of calistria in a private game with my husband, so I know how fun the goddess can be, so I don't want to limit ya, just... you know, for the sake of keeping things friendly. Don't wanna be pushed into being a feminine hygiene product and coming down hard if others are uncomfy.
GM Aria
why yes it is, but it is currently piled high with snow. not that the bandits are going to miss that there won't be snow in it, since most of the snow about is melted only recently. Well... I think recently. Takes about 8 weeks for snow to melt completely in Norway, but we'll just assume that the Stolen Lands isn't Norway. :)
GM Aria
You know, you can discuss this stuff in character as well. I assume that you guys will walk around exploring stuff for a while, and present your ideas.
But yeah, if you want to know specifics, hit me up here, like you have done.
For reference, the catapults are each inoperable and would require an engineer a few weeks of work to restore.
Mordecai Jethramson
I'm still iffy on where Mordecai should go to wait for the ambush. otherwise, so far, we have Tam hiding in the wagon, James on the walkway above, Stanis in the stables, and Ladislaus' positioning up to you :)
EDIT: should Mordecai invest in a ranged weapon? also GM what are your thoughts of Mordecai eventually mastering his sword and taking a shield? Should he or just stick to two-handing the sword?
GM Aria
Sword and board is cool. Uh... I am actually going to let hubby field that question. My experience with this AP this far is as a player, when we each had 25 point buy, a wizard, a fully dedicated healing cleric and a bunch of dumb fighters who rushed stuff outside the range of my healing and got pissed when my cleric, who only had a two hander paladin with two less levels and the second worst AC in the group (my Cleric had better AC because she had a shield) got flanked and couldn't heal them directly.
I hestitate to tell you either way. Because you do have a wizard and a cleric, and a rogue who will do sneaky sneak and flank with you, at least, I think. I think we should both wait and see how the group handles combats as a whole before you start thinking about how to specialize, or not.
Really long answer for "I don't know" but, there it is. :P
Mordecai Jethramson
lolz i appreciate it anyways ^^ the bastard sword is my favorite Medieval weapon, i just dont know how i want Mordecai to field it. i'll wait to see, as u said, and don't worry. Mordecai's survival instincts don't let him charge off alone. Being alone means surrounded by baddies. Surrounded by baddies=dead Mordecai. don't want that :)
EDIT:
GM Aria
Oh god, any avatar but that one of Valeros. Crap DM used it for his DMPC and I can't freaking stand seeing it. I think I will target you with every AoE in the book if you keep it. Sorry, I just... hated that DMPC so freaking much. Everything wrong with DMing and as a character. I rage even now, two weeks later.
Tam Hawke
So my last post is just in the future hehe
GM Aria
Okie, just to confirm current plan is for Mordecai to hide in the storehouse, Tam to hide in the back of the cart, and Stanis and James will be in a position to keep the bandits from escaping from the fort, correct?
Two things I need to know, will you guys be leaving the gates OPEN for them to come through, or closing them as Stanis suggested? or closing them behind the group, to seal them in? As Mordecai is the only that can reliably close any door quickly enough and he is going to hide in the storehouse, I assume that the doors will be open.
So far you've said that you want Oleg to be out to meet the Bandits, does that mean you want to keep Svetlana hidden?
Also, what would you like me to have Ladislaus prepare/cast? Any preference for role? Or will you trust an experienced player of Clerics to get ya'll through this?
James Herecea
My thought was to have all of us hidden, with Oleg and Svetlana outside initially. Svetlana go inside soon after, whenever would be unsuspicious, then Oleg follow to fetch some part of their payment. Upon Oleg getting the door shut and locked, we would strike, with me attempting to keep them from the gate, while everyone else attacked. Perhaps to avoid the issue we can have Ladislau stay inside the building Oleg and Svetlana hide in, to keep them safe?
EDIT: Also, please, please, please Aria, give me more reason to come up with sayings like 'The steel back in his Longblade'. I'm not sure why but I still haven't stopped giggling at it.
