James Herecea
Haha... I don't even feel like I need to say it. I've been waiting a long time for another good multi-choiced multi-pathed RPG to show up. These kinda games are the closest I can get to PnP without wrangling together 4-5 friends. Also my friends tend to not be so good at the... role playing... aspects. I'm slowly bringing them around to not forgetting that but...
My RL group at the moment consists of: Vincent Veman, a Synthesist who looks like a raptor who, after recently catching lycanthropy, is about to retire to attempt to become the Packlord of the werewolf tribes. Octavian, a wizard who is slowly sliding into an Evil alignment as he finds more and more powerful evil relics from our Whispering Way enemies and is tempted into using them. Scot Wainright, an Assassin who uses whatever methods necessary to get revenge on the people who killed the man who was like a second father to him. Lycinia Doranee, a quiet ranger and strong worshipper of Desna who is beginning to suspect her allies of being less than valorous. And Andre, a huge hulking Paladin of Sarenrae.
I expect holy fire soon in my group, especially since Octavian recently began keeping two zombies in his lead painted caravan.
Tam Hawke
Yeah this girl in my rl group wants to be assassin and her actual word wizard boyfriend is considering taking undeath as word and will walk around with zombies pretty much me and brother are wolfshaman druid and a cavalier......yeah this undead and assassin doesnt go too well lol just annoying and roleplay is out of question actually i get zero roleplay we walk around and kill stuff period very boring. not to mention the girl is a b@*$% and goes out of her way to make fun of my brother but its only rl game i get sooo grrr lol so Aria thank you for making this great game and letting me and bro play
GM Aria
I have no RL group. My last RL group split up months ago. We had holy fire raining down on us from level 4 or so... It was bad. We also had a LG cleric show up and try to show us how Good was supposed to be... My cleric was CG, so she pissed him off something fierce, no matter what.
Is why I wanted Good alignments in this thing, and hesitated with neutrals. I'm not trying moral gray here, coz that's not the game I want to run with 5 players.
Stanislaw Quill
I GMed said group, consisting of:
- The King (of meta), who would CONSTANTLY challenge me on rulings, while he abused rules. A cavalier that from the get-go he decided that he was going to be the king, since he had the best charisma.
- The Optimagician, a properly overpowered wizard that could likely do the entire AP alone. The kind of guy who knows ALL the spells by heart.
- The whiny entitled brat, who demands the world revolves around him, and throws a tantrum when he does not get his way. Classic "It's not me who is wrong, it's everyone else" case. And he played a borderline evil rogue worshipping Norgorber, in a good group with a cleric and paladin of the goddess of truth.
- A total bro, playing a sword & board fighter. King of one-liners and good times.
- My wife, playing a frustrated cleric of sarenrae.

GM Aria
Yeah, the sets are the product of wife saying "Let's start a campaign set in the Land of the Linnorms" when she has slept for... 3 and 1/2 hours. And effectively giving Husband a 48 point buy and then wondering how the hell I am going to populate a world with a freaking monster with 48 point buy.
Hehehe. Newbie GM mistakes.
Tam Hawke
lol np our rl gm used a system of roll 4 dice 7 times, drop lowest, may reroll 1's each time once. Then drop lowest from the 7. rinse and repeat make any sense? yeah so our rouge ended up with a 20 dex and 20 cha rakshasha tiefling annoying so me and bro just treat her as helf elf and ignore her lol
Tam Hawke
theres a variant now that you can choose what your demoninc heritage is so rakshasha changing the abilities to a +2 dex and +2 cha and -2 con i think. I dont remember. but yeah shes a b!!#! in rl and is a b@#~~ IC unless dealing with the gm or her bf lol plus her boyfriend sits right next to her and constantly flirting and well sexual inuendos just *roll eyes* so yes we ignore her lol
Tam Hawke
Well we have her bf a word sorceror with 20 cha as well and takes it upon himself to foul up our battle plans by summoning sooped up monsters so when my large wolf and my huge wildshape, the calvalier (bro) mounted on his horse as well as our GM (who plays a ranger wielding A Falchion/Ranseur and is trying to be the biggest damage dealer, he says hes there to help the party only to have certain skills incase we run into a wall or something, im starting to doubt this lol) anyways he fouls up anything when we try and position ourselves lol just blah lol
Tam Hawke
its alright I mean like Stannis said for every good gm you run into a few bad ones and for every good player you find 10 bullcrappers lol like in thi other pbp game we were telling you about the loot system gm ruled in my favor about regular system of you get shiny sword you dont take gold. and now a guy is leaving saying im a bully and stuff haha
Mordecai Jethramson
My brother and I just term that game as the "Killing stuff" campaign cuz that's really all we do. Walk into a fight, gm's ranger kills the monster, encounter over. We try to play our characters but all the girl does is tell certain members off when we have an idea or try to play our characters. The rogue wanna-be assassin tells the Knight that I'm virtually not allowed to talk cuz of her higher diplomacy bonus and because of a bunch of other stuff lol
Anyways yeah, reeeeally looking forward to this group and this adventure. :)

I don't understand how someone does not want the TEAM to get better, by giving stuff to the ones who can make most use of them. If we find an awesome suit of armor, I am not going to say "If Mordecai wants this, he needs to 'BUY' it from the rest of us!"
That's retarded. Stanis wants Mordecai to be able to withstand as many blows as he can without going down. That way, the monsters do not get to hit Stanis. And Stanis wins out on that. And down the line, when we find the awesome headband of intelligence +lots, people will remember "Stanis let other people have stuff, lets not raise a fuss when he claims it, so he can cast more Haste, False Life, Enlarge Person, and such on us!"
I enchant your back, you enchant mine :P

Dear gods. You know what those two remind me of? TWILIGHT. She is the over-entitled b@!#% lead that demands all the screen time even though she is boring and offensive as a brick swastika. The sorcerer is the glitter-homo, and the GMPC is the insert author's pet to keep "Bella" safe.
EWwwwwww....
Anyways yeah, reeeeally looking forward to this group and this adventure. :)
Me too. I had all but forgotten that some people actually care about the RP.

The way they are saying is just money maximizer which I hate because its unrealistic life doesnt work like that ever to expect it to happen is just the WOW factor or online games as such. What they are saying if we find 3000 gold and a +1 sword worth a thousand gold someone takes the sword and the rest of party divides up the loot say 5 ways. = 600 gold BUT since player A got a sword worth a thousand he has to pay the parry the extra 400 so everyone gets equal share cry cry tear tear

The way we usually do it is that we see who got lots of loot, and who did not. Then we take a chunk of money and craft/buy stuff for the ones who got the short end of the stick. And make sure everyone has enough for drinks and laughs, not to mention a diamond in case someone bites the dust.
But then again, I was raised in Norway, which is THE socialist welfare state :P
Tam Hawke
Way ive found works best is person who needs it just gets it and rest split gold we've even implemented a party loot as another splpit so when we all need something or even in case of emergencies we can dip into it and no one takes severely huge dive from having to buy something. like a remove curse spell to remove tenth level curse haha
Mordecai Jethramson
aww thanks Aria i'm getting all choked up ^^ lolz just kidding, thanks tho really it makes me feel a lot better, they were really pissing me and my bro off. also i was playing a summoner, rly strong based Eidolon, but im so glad to be able to play my fav class again.
Fighters are and always have been my bread and butter, I'm a warrior freak in any game I play that is fantasy. Also I rly rly like the new Armored Hulk Barbarian archetype, but that's just cuz they're really the only other martial class i enjoy.
:) thanks again Aria for the chance to play.
GM Aria
Awwh, crocodile tears, that's what a GM wants to see from her players as she's designing NPCs to be their love interests.
What's that you say? You wish to have your very own prostitute of Calistria to hug and squeeze at night, or... possibly share with James?
*laughs*
I'm the GM. I create worlds, UNIVERSES! Every potion you drink I mixed, every magic item you find, I PUT IT THERE!
*ahem*
Any more questions?
Mordecai Jethramson
Umm...and suddenly Mordecai gets an Anime sweat drop and he goes "Right..." quick-paced sound effects as he scoots away along the wall.
lolz i'll pass on the prostitute if it's all the same to u. also didn't mean them as crocodile tears lol, meant it as an expression that i really do appreciate the detail and depth you put into this already amazing AP. :)
GM Aria
My getting uppity was in jest. You'll not be getting a prostitute, from what little I have planned thus far. But it's probably gonna be a while till women folk start streaming into the game in any discernible numbers. Although there is one paizo female NPC that Mordecai can spar with...
Did like the guilty walk away by Mordecai. I think I'll be playing the sad piano theme from The Hulk when you guys finally leave the city. :P
GM Aria
Wow, holy poo. I just read up on what went on in your former game, Tam. What the heck, they freaking pulled a train on you, each and every one of them.
That is seriously wrong. The game isn't about gp value and individual wealth, its about being able to respond well to the challenges. If the fighter finds a +3 longsword and he's carrying a +1 and missing everything all the time, I don't see why he has to shell out monies to be able to freaking use the item that the AP gives to make him effective.
I have never, EVER been at a table where it has been suggested that people have to pay for party loot. You split the physical money you find as fairly as possible, if your character gives a crap about that stuff, and you take items as they become available for you to effectively level with the challenges.
Wow. Those guys, s@&&, I'm sorry for poking where I don't belong, but I'm glad I found out that those guys were douches before I went looking for another game.
Cheese and crackers. I really hope this type of bovine feces doesn't happen in any of the games I'm currently running in.
Stanislaw Quill
Explaining my post IC: Restov is a CN city with a high danger rating, that houses an infamous dueling school. Murder is rather common fare, and Stanis comment implies that the mayor is particularly interested in pursuing this murder due to the political implications of letting people kill scum in the street.
@Aria: I like the changes you made to Ioseph Sellemius tho. I never felt that the bleeding-heart expert/aristocrat fit well in with the hardened swordlords and a dangerous military city rife with political tension.
GM Aria
Yeah, it has been a few days since he has post anything at all. I do not know where he was with the whole Hurricane Irene thing, maybe that has affected him? Anyway, I will give him til Wednesday to throw something up to the effect if he remains "in" or not then roll up a NPC cleric with no political ambition to accompany you guys because you really need a cleric for this AP.
GM Aria
True. And I might, but he has not that much to go on in terms of skills or feats or anything, which is why I am hesitant. And this AP dumps you straight into a combat situation, for the most part. Granted, a fairly easy one which you are given time to prepare for properly and thus should be easy peezy with a wizard, but there is always the possibility that stuff will go against you as well.
But yeah, once ya'll decide on a transport method, I will teleport you guys down to the AP and we can kick things off.
James Herecea
I'm torn on that front. I'd rather go ferry because I know we get horses straight off.... but James doesn't know that and would want to get down there as fast as possible, even if he doesn't have enough to get a horse, he'd rather consider stealing one if it saved lives.... damn.
Mordecai Jethramson
Mordecai's eyes light up! Combat you say?! lolz.
in an old IP game of dnd i was in years ago, we had a member with the same problem (no skills, equipment etc) so our DM erik decided to just give him a shield, a sword and light chainmail and have him act on every other turn so there wasn't the chance for a 'npc' to own up the combat. when we got the player back he swaped out the original gear for more personal stuff and we went from there. :)
GM Aria
Hahaha. Stealing horses in front of the cleric and wizard devoted to abadar. Shame shame shame.
I'm not saying you guys can't get horses. I've got an idea how you might get some, if you're interested in going looking for them. You'll just incur some debt. And horses are pretty valuable commodities, they can always be sold later, provided you keep them in good shape.
Ryuko
Husband reminded of Shaggy this morning, and I thought it appropriate as James's theme song.
*giggles*
How did I miss this post? This makes me so happy... So happy.
Now I must find an even better theme song for James
*Flaps cloak* AWAY!
James Herecea
I see James as a glam rocker type... Got a few options here.
I'm Bad
Felicia
Semi-Precious Weapons
Little Death
Break Your Little Heart
GM Aria
I've always wanted to make a savage skald and have it sing ManOwaR songs, you know, if real world analogs made any sense in PF.
My Bard Priestess of Calistria's theme song is Hurricane by Thirty Seconds to Mars. She's... had a rough life. I think James would love her, which is why she's probably not going to make an appearance in this AP. At least for a long while.
Mordecai Jethramson
Man-o-War, as the DM and Stanis will atest to, is a Nordic-orientated band. 90% of their songs are from the Norse myhtology, which alone makes them amazing. Nightwish is a Finnish Heavy Rock and Orchestra band. they recently replaced their main singer but their music still stays true to the original casting, lots of mythology references and heavy rocking tunes lolz. it helps me a lot when im writing one of my books
GM Aria
Yeah. I think people discount music and images a lot when it comes to writing. I am running a Ulfen sorc in a Jade Regent campaign with 12 STR, 14 CON and carries a longspear. Took Cosmopolitan to give her Survival since she's from the Land of the Linnorm Kings. Got the idea from a picture, and run her with the song "Defender" in mind, even if she's a blasty type sorc.
She's a fun character. :D
GM Aria
Ah, this would be our IM games. Basically something we do when we're not blasting zombies in L4D2 to entertain each other. He runs one for me where I play a Bard Priestess of Calistria in Pitax set before the events of KM. I screwed up my first one and he wasn't digging it any more, so I'm waiting on him to submit me a full character sheet and description so I can make him a game where he can run around being a hero with a witch, and probably a dwarven druid NPC and likely cut through monsters and right the wrongs... I guess.
Heh.
I actually prefer free form to APs, but, with this many people in a game, it'd be stretching my free forming abilities to come up with stuff you all want to do. NPCs imply that they have no real will of their own, and will go with what the party leader decides.
