dammit im so pissed now i have to drop that other game. they all decided except me and my brother that paying the party for finding something we want to keep is fair because i so carry around 1000 gold just to pay the party for having the privilege of using an item we found

There is a reason I have stayed away from PbP play up until now. For every good player, there are five howler monkey "That Guy"s, and for every good GM, there are three who come on the internet because no-one wants to play with them IRL... and rightly so.
So I am glad my wife have found a group of cool kids
MFW I roll consistent 20 on all bluff checks O_____o

GM Aria |

No, a good GM does not allow players bickering and insulting each other. He steps in and mediates, or puts them down, because it's his game. Like how I'm holding off on moving on because Ladislaus hasn't submitted his character fully yet. I'd like to be able to give him, like I've given Tam and Mordecai and James a reason to be going on adventure. I happen to know Stanis's reasons, we discussed it previously, and have tried to incorporate him in the same way.

Thanks aria
Yea I see that im trying to curb it by sometimes I post something hoping to draw stanis in to interact lol :) im hoping we can get the group together tonight and progress a little , i know our college schedule is sorta messing up the times when everyone seems to be posting around 1 am

GM Aria |

Yeah, Stanis's player is currently following Desna's flights of swallowtails into pleasant dreamings, I can hope. I gather that my posting will be affected as well when I return to Norway, although I hope it is not too disruptive. I will not be returning for some months now, though and hope to be some ways into the first book by then.

Since I have time, while I am thinking them up, a few questions;
What are your character's views on religion? I know I did not include it in the 33 questions, but it might be important, especially as you're going to be traveling with 3 highly religious people.
I'm dreaming up your NPC relations at the moment, so it might be important.

Mordecai Jethramson |

Well due to his mercenary days, Mordecai is skeptical of true godly intervention in the world, but he still worships. His captain showed him the worship and honor due to the god of valor, justice and Vengeance Ragathiel, as well as his wish to become a master warrior and paragon of battle, so he also sends a battle cry to Gorum as well, more revering the prime warrior spirit and determination, not ruthlessness or chaotic and endless conflict.

GM Aria |

No problemo. I get the strong, silent warrior type. Our KM party fighter was that way. When we wanted to politics, he went home and screwed his girlie crazy. His character wasn't interested.
Aaah, so, okie. Mostly the question is directed at Tam, but I'm also wondering how you're both going to handle being in party with agents of the divine, and one person who strongly favors abadar's order.

Tam Hawke |

hmmm religion I suppose Tam is open to it though he doesnt really put much stock in it, His view could be that priests are bigger swindlers than he always asking donations but never really coming through on their promises.
Tam does swear to Desna when he dices or gambles, asks her for luck when hes traveling at night. spills a little beer when he can for cayden prays to Gorum in a fight and when he desperately needs help he says a quick prayer to Noticula DUN DUN DUN
That help?

Ladislaus Veil |

Post up! Ladislaus is on his way to the Mayor's, and I'll get another post in later today (with him getting there). Hopefully that gives you some material to look over as far as his background, Aria. ;)
Meanwhile, I'll be working on the questions and trying not to get too sucked in to the glorious, hellish game that is Demon's Souls.

Don't attack the guy with red glowing eyes on the bridge :P
Fun game. Only got so far before I got constantly swamped by PK douches. Personally I am immersing myself in Deus Ex - Human Revolution. Loved the original, and the new incarnation is a delicious First-Person RPG +3 of Wife Neglecting >_>
But, appreciating the posting. Good to keep the game going ^^

Husband reminded of Shaggy this morning, and I thought it appropriate as James's theme song.
*giggles*

Was mostly to remove an obstacle. If Stanis remained in a position of any authority when we start the game proper, there might be a situation where it would make sense to invoke that, and it would lead to needless conflict.
By removing such authority, he is an equal on all points, which is much better grounds for group cohesion, so that if people side with him in an argument, it is because he argues well, and it makes sense, not because he has a position.
And yes, lawful good is hammy, with strong ethical principles that will come off as disconnected and self-righteous. But it is my personal opinion that good-aligned is not just "nice", good is almost cartoon-like in it's constant endeavor to do the right thing, and rarely needs a reason beyond "It's the right thing to do".

** spoiler omitted **
lol ok i thought so cause all tam says is he remains quiet and rolls his eyes at the self righteous lawyer/clerk lol
I am glad Tam feels that way, as that was exactly the way I wanted it to come off. Something pure and selfless at the bottom, but wholly tainted by poor charisma and a lack of public speaking ability. Eddie Izzard has a bit where he explains the "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, which means "I am a donut", while he tried to say "I am a Berliner" (IE from Berlin, the capital of Germany). Where people went crazy and thought him awesome. Because 80% of making people impressed is not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it, and how you LOOK while you say it.
Meaning that if I had made Stanis with higher charisma, he would have done that in a wholly different manner. He would be including, humble and make people feel good about going forth to do good.
Stanis is a bad orator, because once he cannot prepare his statements and adjust them to the person listening (diplomacy), his completely lackluster, even offensive, nature comes forth. Sure he is a nice guy, and does good as far as he is able, but I will endeavor to make him put his foot in his mouth, and come off as preachy and annoying when giving advice, mewling and weak when he tries to intimidate, and obvious when bluffing. Because that is his weak side. And I know how cheap and cheesy it is to make someone with a weakness, and never let it come to the forefront. That is the nasty kind of optimizing, which I am not going for. I enjoy having weaknesses in my characters to make them more "organic", and in a play-by-post, having a low charisma actually IS a weakness, as you are "restricted" by it all the time as you post. The low strength is mechanically a weakness, but no so great in a PBP as it would be in a tabletop.
