I can't believe Aria have not posted a link to the song that gave this PbP it's name.
Man, listening to the epic metal that is Manowar, I almost regret not rolling a barbarian :P
GM Aria
Okay gentlemen. I am currently looking at a map of the greenbelt and will be physically rolling the chance of random encounters when you guys enter hexes. So... Yay for me.
Read up on the house rules that Stanis has put forward, let me know if you like them, or abhor them. We can discuss them before implementation if you find them disagreeable. Other than that, yeah, a busy day for me.
But... this should be fun.
GM Aria
Yeah, we'll discuss that as a group when it becomes relevant. For the moment, I don't want to deal with it until everyone is on the same page with their characters, introed and having them down and what they want to do with the kingdom.
But yes, given X,Y,Z in my RL game, I would love it if you had some manner of organic way to build your cities, instead of building for profits right off the bat.
Tam Hawke
I think it looks good but I think we should stop ourselves now so we dont metagame lol good to plan ahead but plan too much? especially when first part of charter I think is just exploring now kingdom building yet haha dont even need to worry about roles and such cause haven't officially started :)
Mordecai Jethramson
From Mordecai's point of view, the building of a kingdom demands a form of protection like a barracks or a wall about the castle. :) i agree with the bro on this part, so far i'm just rly enjoying the intro, and we haven't even gotten out of the city yet ^^ looking forwards to how the other two will be incorporated :D
GM Aria
Three, once Ladislaus and James get their questions filled out. But, lemme think a while on what you fine gentlemen can do in the interim.
Edit I hope you gentlemen do not mind that I roll skill checks for you sometimes rather than ask for them. It's for the sake of brevity, and either way the result is going to be random. I will probably restrict this to knowledge checks, anything opposed I will call for and wait patiently.
Tam knowledge (local} 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Tam Hawke
How would you want us to go about gambling aria I know its kind of hard to inccorpate a game withen a game but it is tam's lifestyle or would you rather fastforward through it and you just give random small earnings we didnt buy any gear for mordecai which actually makes sense now so we will have to buy all the gear during roleplay should be fun.
GM Aria
Yeah, not trying to screw you guys over or anything, but you are walking around in broad day light with a big hulkin' murderer.
Heh.
Heh.
But, this forces me to improvise, which is good, i suppose. I'll have a post up shortly.
As for gambling, I am going to have you roll a bluff check, and lookit some NPCs that would be about, and roll opposed and assign a value of gp per however many you beat by or something... hmm... we'll see.
Not 200 gp, thats for darn sure. but, I digress. I had something planned, but you went elsewhere. Good jerb.

Jamandi Aldori is mostly unimportant to the story. But she lives in Restov, and is one of the most highlevel fighters in the world. Which is pretty cool.
Stanis giving Banker lip was mostly a "law > priest" thing, showing that the servants of order must all follow the law, which cannot discriminate without losing all legitimacy.
Expect fun times when we have to deal with legal issues :P
Mordecai Jethramson
DOn't worry about GM ^^ I'm enjoying reading about everyone else, my only worry is how Mordecai will be signed up for the charter when he's a likely suspect in the recent murder. Really, more of his character will be able to come out once they're on the road again but no worries of being ignored here :P i assume that he just takes a while first finding the charter then trying to go through a dense crowd to get back while making it a point to ignore being seen. that really racks up his time in my opinoun so no problem ^^
GM Aria
Drumming up a post for Tam and Mordecai currently to get your group back together.
When Ladislaus is ready to go, he will magically appear at the Lord Mayor's office beside Stanis, and we'll be able to progress, I assume, but I'll be giving you guys what you need to know to get to Oleg's soon enough, I hope.
Tam Hawke
Hey thought i should explain my huge bonuses to sleight of hand with knives and if you guys could double check me id appreciate it still unsure on all the rules for hiding these and yeah my graph kinda crude but oh well

I am currently considering it. See, meta wise, you're going to be getting horses in the first encounter that I can make just about anything I want.
Non meta wise, you guys don't have enough money to buy a horse capable of transporting Mordecai and his gear comfortably.
But if you want to spend 30% of your starting cash on getting something that is going to be useless, be my guests :P
Tam Hawke
Well my logic is how would you get there to the encounter lol Tam certainly isnt planning on walking to the stolen lands lol and horses being well the only transportation besides a ferry, now im looking at the map and seeing a river next to restov we could have it that we all take a boat till the landing and then walk to olegs? which meta wise makes more sense and economical what you think?
GM Aria
Okie guys, well. You got yourselves to the office... So, if you don't mind terribly we'll break here til we can get the other three into the story, and you can do groupish things like discuss what you really need to go out there, coz I know that Stanis will have an idea or two about some items that you might like to have on hand.
Hope you guys enjoyed your intros, though. :)
James Herecea
Man I have to stop being in/DMing so many games. It's getting hard to keep up. Anyhow, tentative backstory for James.
Into this fertile ground came Phillipe, a man of great influence and dark passions. James met him in the town and the two men became fast friends and later lovers. Phillipe shared James' dark passions and did not find them odd or off-putting. The boy lived in heaven for a while. Phillipe shared with him his religion, that of the dark lord Zon-Kuthon, who came from beyond seeking only to let his followers indulge in the pain they craved as they liked. James loved this new god, and secretly recruited men and women in his name. Knowing only the tidbits shared by Phillipe, James knew nothing of the Twisted God's true domains. He never knew that when Phillipe talked of their little church making 'changes' to the order, he meant eliminating competition.
The night the Temple of Iomedae burned James was horrified. Moreso when he found out that elderly Father Nimmis had not been found, likely perishing in the blaze. Worried about his new lovers possible involvement and not entirely convinced that his friend could have done such a thing, James ran to the only other Temple in the town, a small shrine to Calistria, where the Iomedaeans had told him he must never visit. The priestess there, a young elf named Selesse, calmed his fears, took him in and healed the burns he recieved attempting to enter the building to find Father Nimmis.
Phillipe and his cult intended to leave none who might know of their plans. Upon hearing that James had fled to Calistria's shrine, Phillipe used his considerable influence within the city guard to point James as the man who had burned the temple, out of spite for them trying to keep him controlled. Selesse showed him a secret escape, telling him of a Temple to Calistria in far off Restov, which he must reach.
The trail was hard and cold on the unprepared boy, but he did reach Restov. Learning of the true face of Zon-Kuthon, and the tolerance, or encouragement, Calistria gave for his urges, James renounced all his previous affiliations and joined the Calistrean church as a sacred prostitute, taking the name Herecea, meaning Heritic in Elvish.
In the two years since then, James has hidden within the Temple of the Amber Queen in Restov. He has worked as a prostitute for a time, but found his talents were better served as a church agent. However, he feels antsy keeping in a place that Phillipe may be able to reach, and has begun to think of leaving, perhaps somewhere... remote.
That's all I got at 1 am. Thoughts?
GM Aria
Mmm. Not sure how prevalent I want Zon Kuthon church to be in this game, considering, but I will think on it and get back to you in the morning time. I'm hoping to intro you and Ladislaus at approximately the same time. The brothers have gotten their desserts, I'll see about drumming some up for you as well.
James Herecea
Got zero issue if it never comes up in his life again. I have several other backstory hooks to work with. I just wanted him to be... shunted, between religions and that one seemed to be a good pick for someone who had a bit of an S/M fetish that no one wanted to work with. Especially spoon fed by someone hoping to brainwash an 18 year old, who was basically his first love. Heartbreak, redemption and a dark past... that's how I like my rogueish good guys.
GM Aria
Hahaha. James and my bard of calistria would get along exceptionally well.
Very well. I will think on some Calistria like questions to ask you in the morning time to kinda flesh out how far you want to go with that in the story, as you should probably know that there is a cathedral to the sacred sting in Pitax, which will be your neighbors soon enough.
