did we miss a huge chunk of the book? I'm just curious as it seems we are really really light on credits after this book. I think maybe we found 2000 credits worth of stuff and then the small list of gear? We found a lot more in book 3. I'm never going to be able to afford the next power armor.. sobbing.

GM Cellion |

Can we take 10 on the scarf? Ted gets +15 so that would be an auto make.
8 = karma :p HA! I think Arc earned the armor with his beatdown.
Do we have the time in this room to complete the repair of the xray goggles?
I think once you guys are back on your starship and traveling somewhere, we can handwave all the identification since you'll have multiple days to make new attempts. Otherwise yes, if you haven't tried to ID yet you can definitely take 10 on any of those checks.
You can also take time to adjust the goggles while you guys are researching the Stellar Degenerator, or you can leave it for when you're traveling.
----
@Isu: Nope. You were pretty thorough. While you guys did miss a few items, they weren't particularly high value. The book is just light on liquid rewards and heavier on high item level loot (at least right at the end).

![]() |

well, no doubt that Xavra had the motherlode of loot on her.
as far as level ups go, I'll be going to soldier 8/mystic 1.
I get a combat feat, which will be step up and strike, so now my step ups will include an attack. I've been waiting for this one since level 1 when I took step up. It should be great for getting in the face of ranged enemies or spellcasters.
Just so no one misses it, we also get a general feat at level 9. I'm going to take forward momentum which lets me spend resolve to temporarily ignore a large amount of negative conditions.

![]() |

this is the new armor i'm jonesing for. Though I need about 10,000 more credits...gah. It gets my strength to a more respectable score and gives me reach, making that larger size more worthwhile. Lacking the money, I will probably buy a weak shield, and Isu will become a the classic sword and board archetype who also has four arms, an artillery laser, and mystical power armor.

* +1 spells per day for 1st and 3rd level spells
* HP/SP gained

I haven't used my starlight form yet but maybe I should, given that I can fly now.

![]() |

4 arms? I can handle the drums.
did you guys take general feats? Arc and Jelico didn't mention them.
I hate the way the CRB lays out level ups. The place where it tells you where you get feats and attribute bonuses is different than where you learn about your class improvements.

![]() |

Anyone have good feat recommendations? We have someone who uses longarms, right? Or don't we? I was thinking of taking Longarm Proficiency so I don't have to get too close. Otherwise, I was considering Combat Casting

![]() |

You can take a new proficiency, but note you don't automatically get the bonus weapon damage that comes from weapon proficiency. Then you have to spend another feat to get that.

![]() |

Leveled! I took Spellbane for my feat, since for some reason Mechanic is the one class without a Will bonus (why would Soldier have it?). I felt the need to increase my really crappy Will save, and thought this seemed slightly better than Iron Will.
Also, I am now proficient in Heavy Weapons from my exocortex mod! Yay! I'm going to be a mobile weapons platform. I just need a heavy weapon now.
Level 9:
Class Taken: Mechanic
Class Feature Gained: bypass +3, override
Stamina points Gained: 8
Hit points Gained: 6

Yes, I took Spring Attack...and I just realized I hadn't notated it on there and the one I got at 7th level (Mobility). Thanks, Isu!

![]() |

Yeah, I'd have to take weapon specialization to get my level to damage.

![]() |

ok we need to get our loot sorted out because we need to spend our credits.
who took:
Haste Circuit (Magic)
x-ray visor.
White Carbon Skin
Hailstorm class Zero Pistol
motion detector (we need to keep this in case of invisible enemies)
the scarf needs to be identified
probably everything else on the loot list is up for grabs and we can sell it if no one speaks up and claims.

![]() |

I took a lot already. I think maybe Spec wanted the haste circuit, maybe he even has been using it already?
Arc you won the rolls for that armor by the way. That was the worst roll off ever.

![]() |

This sensor is worn as an adjustable viewer resting over the eyes, like goggles or thick glasses. It sends out X-rays and interprets the information gathered as an image it imposes over your normal vision. This grants sense through (vision), though it is blocked by materials one-fifth as dense as those that block normal sense through (2 feet of wood or plastic, 1 foot of stone, 2 inches of common metal, or 1 inch of lead or any starmetal) and limits you to black-and-white vision while in use. You don’t gain the benefit of any other special visual senses (such as low-light vision) while the visor is active, and you can’t attempt sight-based Perception checks beyond 60 feet. Activating or deactivating the sensor is a move action.
It lets you see black and white through materials, as well as causing cancer. pretty cool! someone with a high perception score should probably take those (ted is only +2).
Ted is interested in the Hailstorm class Zero Pistol and maybe the Scarf.

GM Cellion |

Since you'd be able to succeed at the check on the way back, you can work out that the scarf is a Celestial Stole. It was one of the reasons that Xavra had astronomically high fire resistance!

![]() |

Isu took the awesome sword and some odds and ends; Arc got the awesome armor.
Maybe Ted takes the zero pistol and scarf?
Spec gets the xray vision and haste circuit?
Jelico take the motion detector and get dibs on the next cool thing?

![]() |

We each get an extra 1246 credits for selling the misc stuff.

![]() |

Yeah, thanks for staying on top of that. Much appreciated!
I need to get a heavy weapon. Where I have Shot on the Run, I was thinking a heavy line weapon. Thoughts?
If so, I've got 5812 credits to spend, though I could also sell some of my old weapons for a little more. Any thoughts come to mind?

![]() |

this is a lower level, but i think it is funny with a d20 damage. You can do great, or you can suck. It does fire on a line so you could hit multiple targets

![]() |

Fun idea--like you said, the d20 could be fun but also very bad. I can't get the second link to work for some reason.
I don't like the 10% sellback. Spectre wishes he had more money for a good upgrade. :(
No one else has a spare heavy weapon they could pass on, do they? I've certainly got longarms to share around if anyone needs one.

![]() |

well if the link doesn't work, just search for the red star plasma cannons on the archives of nethys

![]() |

Ted, I'd be prepared to swap the armor for the celestial stole if you want. Since it boosts the resistances my solar armor provides I may get more mileage out of it.

![]() |

BOY HOWDY!
But that feels like stealing, and you got the armor with an amazing roll.. So I'm fine with you taking both. Plus, you take a lot more damage than Ted during EVERY encounter. So the scarf is yours.

![]() |

You sure? There's also that glove and the boots too. I don't wanna hoard all the goodies (and I think you can only have two worn magic items anyway).

![]() |

i grabbed the gloves of storing, in the very small chance that we have to go somewhere and leave our weapons behind I can shrink my sword down and hide it.
What boots do you speak of, Arc? I don't see that on the loot sheet, maybe they weren't written down.

![]() |

These boots. Tzayl gave them to us.

![]() |

ok, you taking them? i'll write it down on the loot sheet

![]() |

I can, if no one else wants them. Like I said, I don't wanna get too greedy, especially since I've got my eye on picking up one of these while we're on Absalom Station.

![]() |

they are yours unless someone speaks up. I've already taken lots of stuff

Conqueror, White Star
Source Starfinder Armory pg. 41
Level 9; Price 15,200
Hands 2; Proficiency Heavy
Damage 3d12 E & F; Range 80 ft.; Critical wound
Capacity 40 charges; Usage 4
Bulk 3; Special unwieldy
does fire AND electric as it shoots plasma, so in case there is a pesky resistance you get around it.
Also firing against EAC is generally better. KAC tends to be 1-2 higher for a lot of enemies.

GM Cellion |

So I'm going to give you guys an extra day here to finalize purchases and decide what you want to do about the starship upgrade.
I attempted to get in contact with Sydney when we got to the end of the book, but I haven't heard anything back. I'll take that as her no longer being interested. So we'll be continuing on to Book 5 as a group of 5.

![]() |

Thx Isu. That’s definitely a big damage increase for me.
I may go with that, though I’m still considering a line weapon with my Shot on the Run.

![]() |

i'm sure me and jelico can upgrade the ship. i'll talk to him.

I ended up taking Combat Casting and I spent my money on some armor upgrades. I picked up the Purple Forcefield for some temporary hp and the deflective reinforcement for DR 5/-.

![]() |

Hey, Isu? How much did we get from the rest of the loot in addition to the 10,000 each from Chiskisk? And did we keep the holy fusion from the bow? I don't have the feat to use the bow, but I imagine it'd be useful if either you want it or I could stick it on my sword so I don't have to use plasma sheath to get holy damage.
I've entered the Carbon Armor, Celestial Stole and Eohi Boots on my sheet, along with a purchased Empty Orbit Emblem I've installed as an armor mod, and have 7,400 left to spend of what Chiskisk gave us. Plus, I can give one of the others my old D-Suit II, or we can sell it, even with the crummy resale value.

GM Cellion |

Handouts has been updated with your new Starship up top.

![]() |

We each get an extra 1246 credits for selling the misc stuff.
here... and you can buy back the holy fusion. It is super cheap as a level 2 fusion.

![]() |

Alright, I ended up going with the Conquerer (white-star class) Isu suggested. Though I had hoped for a line weapon, there weren't any good ones in my price range. This will be a huge damage increase for me, I think.
