I'm interested in that white forcefield upgrade. I'll take off my upgrade that shocks people for d6 when they hit me. That was hard to remember to use in PBP anyway.

Who wants to fly? A jetpack upgrade is pretty cool.

The targetting computer lets you ignore concealment. A fine choice, if someone has a slot open.

wow, I had no idea we were at the book end there! Null-9 was the final boss? We really crushed her.

The swarm things were scary though... don't worry, you definitely scared me.

As for level up, not too exciting for soldier 10 (mystic 1)...

Besides the normal small things, I am going to take Lunge feat as a combat feat and Extra RP as the normal level 11 feat.

Yeah, the marooned one and the psitheers were quite a bit scarier, though to be fair they're both optional encounters to get a bit of extra treasure. They were both in rooms that the cultists didn't try to mess with.

The best pistol Ted has is

You only get 5 boosted shots per battery, but swapping a battery is a move action and the kishalee batteries auto-recharge daily.

Spectre's longarms are junk, so no deal on a life of crime... But the loot has a minor disruption rifle that can boost that is comparable with that pistol (pistol is lvl 12, rifle is lvl 9), so Ted will take the rifle.

I put Ted's no-longer-used pistols on the loot spreadsheet.

I don't suppose there will be any chance to gear up? It is a problem for me; I have to buy my armor each time because the books never drop power armor at the appropriate level. Which means now I am a full book out of date. I think we have the money to afford new stuff but I'll need the opportunity.

I'm not entirely clear what we are supposed to be doing. Shutting down the stellar degenerator right? But it seems that it shoots at anyone who gets close. So maybe we try to get closer to it to see if there is a safe way closer?

We aren't going to get in to the rift wihtout shutting off the defenses, but once those are off then the whole fleet can go in... Do any of the controls on the moons allow us to choose targets for the Degenerator defenses? Set ourselves as an ally?

Nope. Remember that even Osteth didn't know what was inside the Degenerator. The ancient kish developed the Gate as a giant lock, so they didn't provide any interface between the moons and the weapon itself.

We can't help the Pact fleet (like trying to take out the big ship that's causing the most damage) because we're outclassed.

Yeah, so we are playing a fairly rail roaded AP, this is not very sandboxy at all, so there is probably a specific thing that we are "supposed" to do, but I am not sure what that is. Honestly I am fine with Cellion just telling us what to do, unless for some really crazy reason this adventure is written to allow the PCs to do anything.

It might be interesting to get aboard that huge ship and try to take over from the inside out and then obliterate the fleet, but if that isn't written in the adventure it isn't really an option.

Indeed, there's an "intended path" - AP books are just not big enough to handle everything - but there's also room for improvisation and alternate solutions. I will do my best to roll with your ideas! If there's some reason I don't think I'll be able to roll with an idea, I'll give firm pushback (or outright state it). I'll also endeavor to warn you if you're about to accidentally commit suicide. My intention is to give you a tough problem to chew on, not to arbitrarily TPK the team :)

If you feel stuck or totally unsure, your fall back option is to contact Chiskisk for guidance now that you're in the Sunrise Maiden. However, I encourage you to give your own ideas a try.

As you point out Isu, Dead Suns is fairly railroady. But this is an opportunity to stretch your wings, at least a little.

Alright--do we make for the superweapon and see if we can spot any weaknesses or try to scan it further once we're closer?

There has to be a small thermal exhaust port somewhere, connected directly to the main reactor? Perhaps a lightly armed fighter could set off a chain reaction to the station's core?

Seems like the Chiskisk is narrowing our options down to 2: attack the Degenerator or attack the main ship. Honestly, both sound like suicide missions. I'm not opposed to Arc's idea of trying to kill two birds with one stone, but I don't know to get the capitol ship to move close enough so the Degenerator will shoot at it.

Absolutely. You can even assume you can cleave through multiple if you'd like. However, they're the ones capable of operating the ship - so destroying them may make the ship harder to operate once you have control of it.

Yeah but if we can't control undead then we will have to kill them anyway right? I would think so. Since Arc is flaring them up, I will considering them sufficiently distracted from their job so I will keep on the main enemies
