Solaria Jesari
I'm away this weekend, doubt I'll be posting after Friday morning UK time, until Monday.
Other dates I will be away and not posting:
PaizoConUK: 20 July to 22 July won't be posting.
Wickham Festival: August 2 - 6th won't be posting.
There may be more dates, but they aren't confirmed yet.

I'm fully expecting death... sickened and fatigued... eeekkk. This is no introductory adventure.
GM Cellion
Thanks for the heads up Solaria.
Isu, you see, the adventure is introducing you to the merciless new poison and disease mechanics! I've heard book 2 is actually WAY worse in terms of crippling poisons and diseases. So... uh. Look forward to it?
In case you guys want to rest another day to try to recover from the infestation, there's no penalty to doing so.
Also Arc, yes, you would take penalties on your skill checks as per the sickened and fatigued conditions (ie. -2 on all skill checks for sickened, plus an additional -1 on dex and str based ones due to fatigued; if I'm remembering right).

I would say that we explore a bit in the interior, and then not be embarrassed about having to go back and rest again. And that really isn't metagaming! Probably we will need it.
Solaria Jesari
We need someone with good medicine skill and should probably have a Mystic in the party for Detect Affliction magic, as it's the only way to really get a grip on these poisons, disease and radiation.
You can add Radiation Buffer to a space suit to protect a bit against radiation and/or Filtered Rebreather which helps vs poison/disease. Both give +2 to saves and each takes a slot in the armour.
..... So if you want to change Solaria for a Mystic for book 2, then it could be done with GM approval, if we want to go down that way.

Isu was planning on multiclassing to mystic after level 4, but maybe we want a mystic sooner, and one more powerful. I will let the party decide!
Solaria Jesari
I'm still on the old map and don't see us on the new map.
GM Cellion
Ooops. Should be on the right map now.
Isu Greelax Zyte
|
I want to take Isu to soldier 4, but then don't mind at all becoming a healing concentrated mystic.
Maybe Solaria wants to be a mystic focused on psychic or one of the other options?
Solaria Jesari
I don't know at the minute, I need to look at the options. Probably need to rebuild with the GM's permission, as Solaria at the moment is really charisma based. Originally I was going to single class envoy, but would look to dual class with mystic/envoy. Not really gonna think about it until after PaizoConUK, got lots to prepare for that, got 2 scenarios and the special to prepare.
GM Cellion
Nope! All armor is assumed to reseal immediately. No depressurization worries, thankfully!
GM Cellion
Thanks for the heads up Spectre, enjoy the camping!

Tomorrow is the US 4th of July holiday, and then I am on a trip for a few days. I'll have internet, but my pace of posting will go down as I'll be expected to socialize with family and such! Back to normal next Monday.
Solaria Jesari
Have fun Isu ... and Happy 4th of July to all in the US from the UK. ENJOY!

Well in Michigan, I can tell you that certainly making fireworks legal was a mistake.
GM Cellion
Ouch. Some bad dice... though both being so badly debuffed does not help!
I'll hold off on ending the round for a bit since its 4th of July! Hopefully Spectre and Ted have better luck!
Solaria Jesari
Solaria will step up next, if it won't disrupt the ranged attacks?
What do you think guys? She can still try and debuff the creature, just from close up.

Sorry for the radio silence for the past two days. I was asked to switch to mid-shifts for two days because one of my co-workers got her wisdom teeth pulled, and I came down with an obnoxious cold at the same time, so I needed my rest in-between.

What would I need to do to set up a charge? I can use Stellar Rush to deal at least SOME fire damage to the ghost, and Supernova when I'm fully attuned. It's not much, but it's something.
GM Cellion
It can be a bit tricky to set up, but here are the rules:
I'd say that charging while using the magnetic clamps of your armor would be pretty difficult (our rule has effectively been that you treat all movement as difficult terrain), so you'll have to launch off from a surface.
Stellar Rush would be pretty good in this case!
Arcalinte Soter
|
Aren't we affected by gravity, even if it's lighter? Wouldn't we have deactivated the clamps when the gravity shifted? (When I get climbing suckers, that'll be a moot point, but we aren't there yet.)
GM Cellion
Nope, check out this post here. The local gravity effect exists only in the metal hallway. Where you guys are now (the eastern cavern) has no gravity again.

Okay, so Stellar Rush lets me make a charge without penalties, but when I'm attuned, I can substitute a bull rush that deals 2d6 fire damage instead of the melee attack, and that fire damage happens regardless of whether the bull rush actually connects. The -2 to attach and AC in charges is for the melee attack at the end, right? And the roll for the bull rush is only to determine if it moves the enemy? I just want to make sure I'm rolling the right dice and adding the numbers correctly.
CMB: 1d20+2-3
Fire Damage: 2d6
Do I need to apply my sickened and fatigued penalties to the fire damage?
GM Cellion
CMB doesn't exist in Starfinder, so you actually just make a melee attack roll to bull rush. Your attack roll gets compared to the enemy's KAC+8 to determine if you succeed.
In your case, you'd have
Bull rush: d20+4-3
Fire damage: 2d6
The sickened and fatigued penalties don't apply to the fire damage because they refer to "weapon damage" and "melee damage" in the list of things that they debuff and this is neither of those two categories. Their penalties DO apply to the attack roll to bull rush though, as it is specifically a type of attack roll.
Confusing, right?

Just a heads up that I'll be out of town and "in the dark" next week. I'm not sure I'll be able to survive a week disconnected from the internet, but I'm also not sure Ted will survive the week in this rock. lol
GM Cellion
No problem Ted, want me to bot you?
Solaria Jesari
@Isu: unfortunately, the disruptive fusion seal can only be applied to items of 3rd item-level or higher (up to 5th level, the level of the fusion seal). It also takes 1 minute to apply the seal, and the seal's effects don't start functioning until 24 hours have elapsed.
GM Cellion, can you explain where the restriction to be above 3rd level comes from, (I ask so if I get something like this in the games I'm running I know where to get the answer.)
GM Cellion
@Solaria: The rules look pretty confusing. There's this bit from the core rulebook:
A fusion seal can’t be added to a weapon if doing so would cause the weapon’s total level of fusions (including the level of the fusion seal) to exceed its item level or if the weapon is not a legitimate choice for the fusion within the fusion seal.
So adding the disruptive fusion seal, which has a fusion level of Level 3, would exceed the item level for 1st and 2nd level weapons.

Confusing - Yes.... overly complicated - probably.

While this is a good way to write Grix out of the story, I'm frustrated that the Ambassador will get what he wanted when I absolutely don't trust him anymore.

I think that shuttle was going back to Absalom with or without Grix on it. You've been had, my friend.

Okay, I'm off this week for my last big camping trip of the year, but I'll be gone from Wednesday through next Sunday. See you next week!
Solaria Jesari
I'll be away this weekend Friday-Monday inclusive at PaizoConUK. I'll be all starfindered out, so after Thursday no posts til Monday/Tuesday.
GM Cellion
Whoa, have fun Solaria and Spectre! Looks like we'll be missing 3/5 folks late this week and during the weekend. Rather than bot half the group, I'll most likely just put us on pause (starting Friday-ish) until Monday. We're typically a little slower on weekends anyway.
Isu Greelax Zyte

Well, turns out I am starting vacation on Friday, which goes to the 29th! So I am gone all next week, will have very little internet access.
Arcalinte Soter
|
Wow, whole lotta vacations going on here!
I'll be around when you need me, of course. I'm taking a vacation myself next week, but I'm not actually GOING anywhere, so I'll still have internet access. ;)
GM Cellion
Nice ;>

Honestly, I'm glad for the break. This weekend is gonna be MURDER at the hotel! It's the Magnolia and Vine National Bloom Convention. We've been taken over by a veritable army of middle-aged jewelry saleswomen who seem determined to aggravate all the staff!
Solaria Jesari
What a great weekend, ran 2 Starfinder games and the special and played 1 starfinder and 2 pathfinder games. Had awesome players on my tables, and great GMs when I was playing. Tonya came over and worked her socks off as usual. So if you guys in the states want a holiday in the UK and Europe, come over for PaizoConUK as well and have and awesome vacation.
GM Cellion
That sounds awesome Solaria! I'm hoping that the Pathfinder presence at PAX Unplugged this year is bigger, as that's the only con I'll be at this year that has significant tabletop play. If it is, I'll probably be doing the same thing as you: GMing and playing myself half-to-death over the long weekend :>
