Hey all. I had an emergency project on Friday which is why there was no post then and it has come back today, likely through tomorrow. I’ll try to keep things moving as best I’m able but right now work is kicking me in the nads.

I can never remember that "no confirm thing". So many things about 3.5 are ingrained into my head.

Crit rules go something like ....
20 auto hits....
if rolling 20 + attack bonuses would hit the target, then its a crit as well
e.g.
KAC=25.
weapon is +4
roll 20 = 20+4 = 24 (hits, but not critical)
weapon is +5
roll 20 = 20+5 = 25 (hits and is critical)

Again, I have to state I enjoy this argument and am not angry at anybody. Goody-goody Arcalinte is just frustrated with Spectre's aggressive self-interest.

I should also note that I'm not intentionally trying to rile anyone up. I'm just trying to RP a droid that doesn't quite understand people an their motivations and has a drive of his own. :)

I know. Arcalinte's just sensitive. Comes with being a half-elf. ;)

As a newcomer, I don't understand the relationships between all the old characters. So it is probably not my place to get involved between you. But I am curious, just out of character here, is Arc trying to to be the old-school lawful good paladin type? Isu is also a lawful good person, but Arc is coming off as a very condescending type of lawful good. I am not sure if that was intentional.

Like Isu, I'm also new/curious. I feel like a lot happened before we joined.

That is EXACTLY what I was going for, but I'm sorry I came off as condescending. The initial point of contention I think was after the first fight when Isu harped on our group's performance. I was trying to say "Please be nice, we're still figuring our fighting style," and Isu interpreted that more personally than I intended.

Is there a way Arc can "redeem" himself in Isu's eyes? Arcalinte's been struggling with how the rest of the old group is a lot more profit-oriented than he is.

I'm not sure there is much more in the way of interpersonal relations that what you've seen play out.

Spectre doesn't understand things like caring or morality, and he comes off as kind of a profit-oriented jerk. But it's not personal to him, though it frustrates Arc that all Spectre cares about is credits.

Will Arc be able to help Spectre change? We'll have to see!

Yeah, pretty much. Part of the reason Arc's frustrated is because he grew up on Akiton where unchecked corporate greed has made a lot of major problems that affected his life, so securing profit at the expense of others is a raw nerve for him. And because it's still in the beginning of the story so CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT has yet to happen! ;)

Perhaps Spectre will eventually convince Arc to secure profit at any expense. ;P

I think because of past failures and excommunication from his people, what Isu wants is respect because he lost a lot of his self-respect. He did come off too strong in that first major interaction with Arc, who also came off too strong...

My luck with this disease has been terrible.

I agree that our characters definitely misunderstood each other, Isu. I'm wondering if there's any way Arcalinte can "prove himself" to Isu, as Arc was clearly in the wrong with this one and isn't really exemplifying Sarenrae's forgiveness right now?

spectre opened the box successfully, but isn't that robot taping this? I would like to draw it's attention on myself and Arc so Spectre can proceed without fear of interruption.

SnowHeart said it saw us find the box, and then wandered off to take pictures of the ship's interior a bit more.

I think it is still in the cargo hold, my understanding is that the drone is not looking at us, but is with us.

Sorry for the confusion but Arc is right as to my intent. It wandered off, leaving you alone with the box.

I'm gonna hold back here so I don't monopolize the conversation, though I'd appreciate if someone answered before Spectre answers in the affirmative out of desperation for credits. Arc's not happy about the Ambassador omitting the details abour this cargo, and he finds this INCREDIBLY fishy. Fishier than the Mall of America's Sea Life aquarium!
