Thael frowns as Hali falls. Completing a spell he has prepared, a small dimensional pit appears beneath the two grave guardians, and Thael hopes they will fall into it.
The air elemental also continues its attacks against them.

Hali Silverforge |
lets say Hali used Mind Barrier as an immediate action to spend 2 of his Abjuration points to block 12 points of that damage. So he's still bleeding out, but he's a little closer to 0

I would normally dice this out, but the Statues can only climb out of that pit with a roll of a 19 or 20, and similarly, Bax can only shake this blindness on a 19 or 20. So I am willing to call it here, given your resources expended
Hali Silverforge |
so we RP it as killing or capturing Bax and then finishing off the statues like fish in a barrel? That works for me. I'm fine with Bax dead or alive.
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Eddv |
Yeah, Bax's fate is up to you. Go ahead and RP that, conscious folks
Thael Silverstep |
Thael moves quickly over to Hali and taps him with a wand to heal some of his wounds.
infernal healing
"Is everyone alright?" he asks.
Ishingka Thulkarian |
Ishingka looks up from busily binding Bax's hands together. "Well, this one is blind and can't hurt us any more. I expect she's far too much of a true believer to tell us anything about 'Mother,' though. Isn't that right, you little hard case?" . She yanks the rope tighter with a savage twist. "I may break her arms though, just in case."
She chuckles throatily. "Oh, and I'm fine."
Jag Koszonommonsk |
"I think Hali got the worst of it," Jag offers.
We've come to far and lost too much to stop now.
"Where's your boss? Our patience is running out."
Arileth |
Arileth grimaces, gingerly touching where Bax had shot her. "Let's take care of a few of these wounds," she says. She begins a short chant in Elven, and at its conclusion, the birthmark on her abdomen flares briefly with yellow light. A wave of positive energy washes over her companions, closing wounds amid a hint of hedonistic euphoria.
Channel positive energy, excluding Bax.

Bax's mask is still unnerving, but she lifts it to spit at Jag She is at the top, where she will kill you and then carve the heart out of Vegazi to serve it to her Patron!
Hali Silverforge |
-10hp now. That's probably good enough unless someone has a wand
-Posted with Wayfinder
Ishingka Thulkarian |
Ishingka shoves a gag in Bax's mouth and slams the mask right back on her. "More like 'she waits at the top to lose badly like I did', Baxy-puss. We will roll over her like giant locusts on a table full of blackberry pies. Mm, now I want pie. Well! Bax, it was pleasant talking with you. Even more pleasant beating you like a half-starved goblin. Sit here a bit while we take care of Mum."
She looks around at the group. "Did we ever get anything to fight devils? I've plenty of bloodrage left. Hali, how do you fare?"
I have a wand!!! :)
Thael Silverstep |
Hali, we want to go into this full-strength...I have another tap of infernal wounds for you, so get another 10 back.
Thael uses a charge of his wand of mage armor on himself, then says "I suggest we find this mother-figure now before she goes anywhere."
Hali Silverforge |
I forgot about the infernal healing you already did. That would have got him to 100% already; my bad
"I'm ready to crush some more demon skulls!" Hali bellows
we should probably buff before this fight as much as we can. I'll try to figure out which buffs I have are long-lasting enough to be worth casting first. I know Hali has Communal Protection from Evil
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Eddv |
I m fine with you doing whatever you want - just let me know when youre ready before I move on
Tae |
sorry for being absent... sick and taking care of sick family member too... all caught up reading now, though not sure what, if anything, Tae can really do right now...other than:"
Tae nods to Hali and smiles... "I'm sure you are! Would love to see the demise of all those who would truck with demons and the like."
Ishingka Thulkarian |
"Devils, Tae, Devils. Demons are the ones my great-uncle or something trucked with. And that's how I get me claws!" Ishingka gives a great whopping grin, showing her tusks. "Say, does anyone have a wee birdy or something that can go spy on 'Mother' up there? I'd like to know the size of our playing field before Hali and I become enormous."
Tae |
"I can summon something, but I don't talk to birds, so getting a report back, if there would even be time for such, is probably not gonna work."
Arileth |
Just before the group advances, Arileth will cast bless and magic circle against evil on herself, and align weapon (good-aligned) on Tae's weapons. If she can get both of his weapons with one align spell, she will use the second one on Hali or Ishingka's.
Arileth offers up a series of prayers to Calistria, bolstering the group just before they advance. There's a whole lot of talk about revenge in those prayers.
Tae |
Tae uses a bow and isn't very good with it at that.. probably best to align Hali's and Ishingka's weapons
Tae |
that makes much more sense!
Ishingka Thulkarian |
Do we have Protection from Evil, and also Align Weapon on Ishy and Jag?
Regrettably, Ish can only cast her spells while raging, so she'll be a little slow at first.
Jag Koszonommonsk |
Not much to pre-buff from my end. If you're casting align weapon on Jag, it'll only take one casting. (Flurry lets me 'dual wield' with one weapon).
"Let's finish this. For Wate, for Ussur, for Arwyll's Stead," Jag says, a hint of upbeatness sneaking its way back into his speech. "Ready when you are," he informs the group, clapping his hands for effect.
Hali Silverforge |
Hali kneels down and murmurs some prayers, sometimes rubbing his helmet or warhammer as he does so.
so right now we have:
Party:
Bless, 6 minutes
Magic Circle against Evil, aka Protection From Evil, 1 hour
Ishy
Align weapon, 6 minutes
Jag
Align weapon, 6 minutes
Hali
Magic weapon, 2 or 3 minutes left
Align weapon, 6 minutes
Expeditious retreat, 6 minutes
Resist energy (fire), 1 hour
gm, how do you feel about Hali's Legacy Weapon and Size Alteration abilities? They each have a 1 minute duration and are a standard action to activate. How much would be left on them at the start of the fight if Hali activates them now?

[the map is to scale so they would only be me 1 and 2 rounds off depending on order cast]
The group makes their way up the mountain and see the half-orc Kelseph completing her blood ritual "Well well, I see that you have delivered Vegazi! Bring her to me and I will leave you and that little human town be. This is nothing but the fulfillment of a contract at this point. She stands atop a pentagram, in the middle of some sort of ritual.
Thael Silverstep |
"If you want her, you will have to come and get her," Thael says. The wizard observes the ritual, trying to determine what is being summoned.

Jag Koszonommonsk |
"If we kill you, we save the town and Vegazi. Good people have died. Now it's your turn," Jag states proud, maybe a bit overconfident. "It's also the fulfillment of a contract."

It appears to Thael that this is some sort of sacrificial ritual. By killing someone in this circle you send their soul directly to a chosen devil. The devil in question here is probably an Erinyes, though you do not recognize the symbol of the specific devil in question.
