Well, in-character, it wouldn't be unreasonable to come to that conclusion. Thinky is a well-know gladiator in the games, and Braegan would know that. The Bonegrinders are a fan favorite team. They're like the lovable villains.
Arkol, Sir Snarl, Dark Arrow, and the rest of the PCs are all new to the arena.
The Bonegrinders' cocky power players decided to complain about their salary and contracts, and are on strike, effectively. Leaving an opening on their team.
Plan C lost nearly all of its members last season, and Ezendra and Zayle are the only remaining members.
Braegan: Ha, possibly. The newbies were mostly to fill the gap on their roster, and a metagame reason to make it plausible for all the PCs to join, too. I'm sure if 3-5 NPC gladiators teamed up on one of you, you'd go down pretty quickly as well.
Moving Through a Square Friend: You can move through a square occupied by a friendly character, unless you are charging.
Opponent: You can't move through a square occupied by an opponent unless the opponent is helpless. You can move through a square occupied by a helpless opponent without penalty.
Ride-By Attack
When you are mounted and use the charge action, you may move and attack as if with a standard charge and then move again (continuing the straight line of the charge). Your total movement for the round can't exceed double your mounted speed. You and your mount do not provoke an attack of opportunity from the opponent that you attack.
I made that move because I thought Yark to be incapacitated, and since opponents are no hinder, neither should be allies.
Reading the above descriptions I also get the the impression that, friends between you and the opponent hinder the charge, and that make sense, but the movement after is no longer a charge, just a new movement action
EDIT: I see right now the updated map. With the leopard there I couldn't charge. As I wrote in my post, writing before Mandra was a long shot, but time was running out.
I guess we should still found our way to act a team.
Actually, since you have a lance (a reach weapon) and an open square between you and the lion, I didn't see an issue with charging it. It was continuing the movement from the charge that I was worried about. It's a grey area.
Well, we'll still strive for a post every two days, but I understand life comes first. Friday to Monday isn't the worst leap for those who can't post on weekends. We'll just see how it goes.
HP 17/17, AC 18/ 14/ 14, Fort +5, Ref +4, Will +1, CMD 17(18) Damphir Cad 2
Wife and two kids on this end here as well, thing is I don't have access to a computer at work so I'm posting evenings and weekends, but as I said, I'll go along with the popular vote.
Jhock, you're right. Apologies. Doing that in-game, now. It was a late post. I just used the first missed shot for the extra damage, and forgot to roll crit confirmation.
Why do I have a feeling that waiting for the manticore to show himself won't be a winning strategy for us in the long-run? So at this point we're just waiting to see if anyone has any anti-invisibility options?
If not, I say we split into groups to move out and sweep the area we think he's in.
Hopefully I haven't made any mistakes with my recent post, climbing is something I very rarely need to do in my games for anything more than 'go up that rope' xD
My laptop finally died, and until I can afford to fix it or replace it, I won't be able to post more than about once a week.
Also, I don't have access to my image files or photoshop until then, so... I will do my best to keep posting, bu there may be a lag for a few weeks. :(
Hey everyone, I have some bad news regarding my computer. I can't afford to replace it at least for a few months, and I have no way to retrieve the information off of it. no files, no photoshop. :P
In a few months I'll try to kick start the game again, but there's no way I can finish this match at this time. And while I can post infrequently from my phone or work/friends' computers, I can't realistically run a game right now.
I am really sorry, and was very much looking forward to this campaign. If any of you are interested i na few months, I'l ltry to start again.
We can just assume that everyone still alive during the last round survives the match, the manticore loses its last 20-something hit points, the fire elementals that were summoned by a trap that the falling ship set off are avoided or dispatched, and someone manages to get to the reset switch (likely Jhock or Cowboy, and another to stand on their shoulders and manipulate the levers).
I hope you all understand. I had to cancel my other campaign, too, and have let the games I'm playing in know that I'll be posting less frequently due to the turn of events.
Yah, that's some tough news. I was enjoying this, but completely understand.
If/when you get a machine back up and running -- and are still interested in running this or a similar game -- just hit us up in this thread or start something else up.
Good luck with your computer stuff. I'm sure you lost more critical info than a photoshop file for an online game.
Sorry to hear that. Would you mind marking this campaign as inactive for the time being? Then when/if you're able to start it up again you can reactivate it and it'll let us know you're back in business.
