Thanks for letting me know Yark. I'll try to accommodate best I can, but if you can't post regularly, I'll just DMPC your actions until things stabilize for you.

Everyone is using that stat block at the beginning of their post... was that your request, DM? And if so, can you point me to the post so i can copy/paste it? :)

HP 17/17, AC 18/ 14/ 14, Fort +5, Ref +4, Will +1, CMD 17(18) Damphir Cad 2

There was no request, it's just something I picked up on a request from another GM. It's proven useful to both parties so I've stuck to it in most my other games.

Nope, no need for it as long as your character sheet is correct. It's a nice reference, but should probably be behind a spoiler to take less space if you want to post it.

Braegan, drinking a potion is a standard action.

Yep.. just got my actions reversed. I'll be more careful in the future.

Male Orc Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 2/ Fighter 1

Hey guys I'm going to have to withdraw from this game. I just can't keep up with the posts.

I understand, thanks for the interest. I'll run your character as an NPC form the rest of this match. Feel free to keep an eye out. If you're interested in the future, let us know, and if there's a slot you can come back.

Male Half-elf Rogue (Thug) 5

Sorry for missing my turn! Looks like I'll have to check the thread both in the mornings and evenings, not just evenings (which is no problem)—new at this, learning the pace at which these play by posts go.

Quick question. The squares that look like they have rubble, but don't' have an altitude modifier (yellow numbers), are those difficult terrain? I'd love to be able to use rubble to break charging lanes.

Also, are we at the back at the top of initiative?

Male Half-Orc Cavalier (Beastrider) 5

Not sure, but I think horses are a 5'x10' not a 10'x10', so cross section for mounted P(N)C should be between two squares, not on the corner of 4

In pathfinder, all Large animals are 10x10.

Lol im sorry but I love that map

Pretty rockin', right?

HP 17/17, AC 18/ 14/ 14, Fort +5, Ref +4, Will +1, CMD 17(18) Damphir Cad 2

It is awesome.

Karl, What I do is give everyone at least 24 hours to post. I usually post updates in the evening, or in the morning, and wait until the same time a day later. If someone has not posted I will DMPC their actions as appropriately as possible. If I miss a day, then you get some extra time. :)

I'm glad you like the map. I plan to make all the arenas at least this detailed. The platform arenas are a pain to draw up, though, to be honest.

Yes we're back to the top of initiative (revised), as per the IC post.

Horses take up 10x10 spaces. I let them squeeze for a charge, though. Seems iconic.

Braegan, please spoil them in the future.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was posting out of order. I'll be more careful in the future.

And just for clarity, we nay need to spoiler our actions if we're going before our turn, right? Or do you want them always spoilered?

The maps as everyone has said are pretty awesome ^_^ i would however like to raise the quesion braegan mentioned earlier on if rubble is difficult terrain as it might be important for tactics hehe

Apologies. Robble that takes up a full square or more is the hight listed. squares with lots of dots are rough terrain. just a few dots are clear.

update will have to come in the morning, photoshop is giving me issues on this computer.

Male Half-Orc Cavalier (Beastrider) 5

GM:
About the Spotted Lion that attacked me in round 4
From the description I get that he was charging, how does he gets multiple attacks? or the charge was just descriptive?

Another thing, this is my fault because I didn't wrote it. Since Crugonk was waiting to charge he is equipped with lance and shield, so its AC would be 21 (19 flatfooted). My fault, I'll take this damage. Could it be counted it in next rounds?

Hey gm is the manticore visible now? since it came up and attacked me? I assume no cause it attacked something else so it has to have greater invisibility on?

Isn't the manticore the thing in S-T/41-42?

EDIT: HA! Nope, that's Cowboy... sheesh. /facepalm

Oh, DM, I meant to ask you about your ooc comment regarding Braegan's jump past Arkol.

i thought that his jump was just part of his double-move... not a run. Which means - since he didn't' run - that he could move through Arkol's space, right? Or am I missing something?

Yeah, the manticore is still invisible. Sorry if didn't make that clear.

Braegan: I think I looked at the scenario wrong, thinking you had a 30ft move speed. Just ignore that. Late night and a lot to keep track of. Sorry about that. Until we get down to team vs team matches as the norm, or 1 team vs creatures, I'll likely overlook stuff like that here and there.

It was ambitious to run this many players and NPCs/monsters at once, but I wanted to see if I could do it in a PbP.

What do you all think so far?

I haven't seen a huge issue with anything yet. Being that we aremostly playing a combat game and then a rp game at seperate times things seemto be a little bit easier to process even with the number of participants involved. This is a huge combat and it seems to be running smooth enough considering we are playing fromall over the world.

Hey everyone, until Monday or Tuesday of next week, feel free to take 1-2 days to post. We open a new store Sunday, and we fell behind on some of the work this week, so this whole week/end will be long days. I should update every day-to-two-days until mid-next week. I'll update tomorrow for round 5.

No problem. With this large of a crew and RL stuff, I think you're doing wonderfully.

About the movement - no biggie. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something in the rules. Just glad we're on the same page. :)

Like i said above, I think you're doing a fantastic job here. I was surprised you decided to run with such a big first event, but I'm actually really enjoying it. The speed of play to me is a non-issue. It's a pbp game... it moves the speed its players/DM can run it.

Loving the opponents. Loving the players. Loving the fight and the narration.

Basically, good job, man. Cant wait to see where this fight takes us.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

I've got to agree with the others. Given the size, number of actors and situation, this is running at blazing speed. And it's fun. I'm enjoying playing the lucky team mascot and BIg Death Reaper is a great image.

The whole trap situation is actually working better than I thought it would, to be honest. I've seen others try to put traps in these situations and either it slowed down play a lot or was a non factor.

Overall, I'm enjoying myself and that's what matters.

Liberty's Edge

Yep, good start. Now if I could just get a halfway decent roll...

Male Goblin Fighter 5

If you rub your local goblin's forehead for luck, you'll see a change quickly. Or lose a finger. Maybe you should feed him first. That would help. :)

@Everyone: I'd really like to give the others a chance to post, especially with Jun Yu being so close to death. :P Suggestions on DMPC tactics to keep him alive longest? Burn a ki point to bump AC? Fight defensively, run away?

Who are we giving suggestions to?

If I were giving suggestions to Jun Yu on how to survive a round or two while reinforcements arrive, then I'd suggest he burn a ki for 4 more AC, then go full defensive, then try to tumble away. That should net him a +8 to AC for the next round.

: shrugs :

The lion(s) could still roll well and take him out, but if the dice have your number...

It seems my previous post went unseen.

Don't Lions have the Pounce ability? Which would allow the lion to full attack at the end of his charge.

They have pounce and rake. It stings when they get you in their claws.

If I were Yun I'd burn the ki for AC, tumble out of there and find a place to hide. Maybe a crevice he can squeeze into where the lions can't get too him? But then again such a survival tactic might be frowned upon by the captains when it comes to selecting the final team members so he might go all-inn and stand his ground...

Liberty's Edge

By the way, I noticed you have the grappling lion overlapping Crugonk on the map. Although in 3.5 grappling characters took up the same space, they don't in Pathfinder. They should each have their own squares.

Male Goblin Fighter 5

I bet living is higher on the captain's list than losing one of your three "lives."

Sorry about that kinda been sick and busy at same time will probably just book it burning a ki point to gain more movement or what not

Everyone, I am really sorry for disappearing. My MacBook's monitor decided to freak out and stay black, so I had to drive a few towns over to have it worked on. And, this week has been particularly hellish. We open tomorrow morning, and I've been pulling 18-20 hour days the last 4 days. I will post very very very soon, and then we're back on schedule.

HP 17/17, AC 18/ 14/ 14, Fort +5, Ref +4, Will +1, CMD 17(18) Damphir Cad 2

good to know your ok :)

No worries. It has been a long weekend for me here, too. Getting ready to move back to the States from Okinawa on the 21st. This group seems to be pretty okay with the pace as it is, so keep on truckin'.

Yep. Busy happens. Glad all is still good, and you're still with us, DM.

We'll all be here anxiously anticipating the next round. :)

I'm back! I'm getting everything tonight and will have something up in the next few hours.

Just for the next few weeks, I'm going to alter the timetable for posting to once for every two days to give me some breathing room with the new store hours.

Than kyou all for being overly patient! :)

No problem,Brother.

: bounces in seat in anticipation :

And, GO! :)

Thanks, all, for your patience.

Let me know if the results of Thinky's actions were too over the top for an NPC. Feel free to use that tactic yourselves in the future.

HP 17/17, AC 18/ 14/ 14, Fort +5, Ref +4, Will +1, CMD 17(18) Damphir Cad 2

Seems like a good lesson in what you expect from us so, I say o.O wow O.o

What tactic should we feel free to use? Summoning and dropping a ship on our opponents?

: Looks over character sheet :

Apparently a ranger/barbarian doesn't have that specific tool in his tool kit. :)

Do you mean that we should feel free to come up with less standard and highly cinematic options?

Yes. And, as you level up and gain wealth/buy equipmeny, potions of fly and swan boat feather tokens are an acceptable tactic. I won't begrudge you for using the same shenanigans I use for NPCs.

This was actually just foreshadowing, honestly, for if and when you ever have to fight the Bonegrinders. Thinky will drop ships on people, especially if they cluster.

So you're telling me to kill Thinky NOW?

: shrugs :

well, if the DM says it's important... ;P
