Adolina d'Jhaltera |
With Mammy's protections whittled down Adolina spins into the attack once more - trying not to pay any attention to the fatigue settling into her muscles.
Attack: 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 14 + 2 - 3 + 2 = 19 Damage: 1d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 = 13

Cutting remark = 1d4+lvl damage, just confused myself.
Robin seems ready to disrupt Mammy Graul's concentration some more. "Swing, batta batta, swing!"
Readied Cutting Remark, nonlethal damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
He continues to encourage the party onward!
Finally, I don't know if Mammy's still on fire or not (she gets a Reflex DC 15 save each round to stop), but here's fire damage for this round. Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Cadas |
Cadas is unsure of the level of threat this pitiful creature really poses and chooses to save resources. She stabs at the woman and then returns to her normal size.

Atrius fauchard: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 241d10 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 vs AC 18 Mammy
Robin continues to cause damage to Mammy, both fire and cutting remark. Marcellano(bot) sees that all the images are down, so he stands by, just in case, but at this point he figures the warriors type can take her down. Adolina grins as there is only one target left, and damages her with a critical hit. Cadas shrinks back to her normal size and attacks, this time missing Mammy. Atrius(bot) also with a critical hit, kills the ogrekin outright.

That went easier than it might have. Nice work. Cadas praises as she casts Detect Magic and casts about looking for enchanted items or other clues.
Adolina d'Jhaltera |
Adolina gradually falls out of her battle trance, only now becoming fully aware of how tired she is. Her movements, as she sheathes her sword and begins the, thoroughly unpleasant, tasks of searching the rotund corpse are much slower than usual.
"Uggh. That thing got some sort of spell off and it feels like my limbs are made of lead..."
Marcellano Gallenica |
"What?! Stand still. Let me see," Marcellano commands. He grabs Adolina's arm and stands her in front of him, scanning first her, then the corpse, then the room with detect magic.

Everyone looks around the room, both magically and mundanely. You find a potion of cure moderate wounds, wand of magic missile (CL 3rd, 44 charges), wand of ray of enfeeblement (28 charges), and a spellbook.
3rd—displacement, fly, ray of exhaustion, slow, vampiric touch
2nd—blindness/deafness, false life, ghoul touch, mirror image, spectral hand
1st—chill touch, grease, mage armor, reduce person, true strike
0th—light, mage hand, message, open/close, touch of fatigue
plus:
animate dead, magic missile, ray of enfeeblement
Marcellano Gallenica |
"Ah. The curse is fading, you should be fine," Marcellano says, sounding relieved. When the party discovers the wands and the spellbook, though, his eyes light up. "Excellent! Sweet Nethys, these sorts of things are wasted on an ogrekin...well, as we saw." He flips through the spellbook, wrinkling his nose. "Why is it wicked souls always gravitate to necromantic spells...? Well, no matter. I can still learn much from this. I'll hang onto it. I can use both of these wands--but would anyone else like them? Robin, I think you can use this one, at least." He waves the wand of magic missile.
Adolina d'Jhaltera |
"May I have the potion?" Adolina asks, working slowly through a gentle stretch or two as her strength returns. "I won't always be able to get back to you if I'm injured so it could be useful."
Once everyone is ready Adolina looks around, "Next door?".
Assuming concensus Adolina returns to the corridor and moves smoothly down the corridor to the next door.

IIRC this entire AP is sorta Arcane heavy on loot.
Robin the Jester |
"Nope, don't need that stick!" says the jester. He hangs out while Adolina scouts.

Moving north she listens and opens the door at the end room. This flthy bedroom contains little more than a lumpy mattress heaped with twigs, mud, and hopefully little else, although the stink of sewage in the room indicates otherwise. Dozens of humanoid fetishes crafed of bits of leather, straw, corn husks, twigs, and bones hang from cords throughout the room.
Opening the final door on this corridor. This dark room stinks of putrefying flesh. Eight wooden chairs with grinning bleached skulls crowning their backs circle a monstrous four-foot-high oak dining table covered with a crude tablecloth of crinkly human leather. The centerpiece of the dining table—a rotting human head, its stringy red hair thankfully draped over its mutilated face—serves as a gathering place for a host of buzzing, bloated flies.

She sneaks through the room, trying to breathe as little as possible and listens carefully before opening the nearest door.

This simple room is strewn with “toys,” some of carved wood or bone, while others appear to be little more than partial animal carcasses. Old bloodstains mark the walls; some resemble crude, childlike paintings and feature images of dismembered horses, a ridiculous grinning horned devil tossing children off a cliff, and a big lake with a black reptilian monster sprouting tentacles from its back. Bookshelves rest against the wall, but instead of tomes they hold skulls of all shapes and sizes.
Two of the ogrekin are standing in the room, and they seem quite surprised that you are there.

Realizing he's in a toy room, he asks a question, a bit late: "So I hope those weren't ogre kids we just slew. I mean, not that they were good kids." Robin notes the various savage and unholy looking drawings. "But still." He wonders if any of the images are recognizable as interesting locations or creatures.
Cadas |
Look at what they played with Robin. They had to be put down. We did so without causing unnecessary pain or suffering. Better than they would have done for us. Cadas says, dismissing Robin's concern, at least in her own mind.
Adolina d'Jhaltera |
"These are not children - they're savages." Adolina responds as she begins the distasteful work of searching the room. "Besides, they're as big as any of the others - if they act like children it doesn't make them so."

Against the west wall sits a large cedar chest. As there is no living creatures, she then opens the right door. Tables strewn with beakers, glass vials, old tin cans, rope, animal traps, bits of twisted metal, spikes, bones, and all manner of junk litter this area. Having heard nothing at the doors for the northern or southern rooms, Adolina(bot) opens the northern door first, then the southern door.
Northern door
This dark, recessed corner of the basement smells of rot and old blood. Piles of gore-spattered skin lie heaped on the floor. A horrid rubbery face robbed of its supporting skull and muscle rests on top, its toothless mouth agape and empty eyes revealing only the layer of tan flayed skin resting beneath.
Southern door
It’s difficult to gauge the exact dimensions of this cluttered room, thickly packed with old crates, broken farm equipment, and furniture. There is a set of double doors on the southern portion of the western wall.
You search both rooms, both magically and mundanely and find nothing of interest.
