Having decided to take the southern doors, Adolina listens, and hearing nothing opens the door. Seeing nothing but another set of double doors at the end of a short hallway, she moves up and listens there. Hearing nothing, she opens the door.

This damp, steamy room reeks of rotting vegetable matter. Pools of mud and stagnant water dot the mossy floor, and the walls are caked with thick swaths of puffy fungus and mold.

As the door opens, two tentacles reach out at Atrius and one grabs for him, but only hurts him a little. Atrius moves up and swings at the creature, hurting it.

Robin casts a spell on Atrius so he will resist any grab attempts by the plant, and also inspires his companions to greater heights of battle. Cadas summons a crocodile who attacks the plant, but it misses. Marcellano sends some magic missiles at the creature, tickling it a bit more. Adolina(bot) moves up next to the creature, and slashes it with her scimitar, doing some damage.

The plant tries to bite and whip Atrius with his tentacles, but the elusive fighter is missed.

Now that he is in position, Atrius wickedly attacks the creature, damaging it harshly.

Fighting a plant, after all the unpleasantness of the cabin so far, is actually mildly relieving for Adolina - things with tendrils have never liked her scimitar much.

He does a quick scan of the room, checking for magic, and then does the same on the door to the north, peering at it closely.

If there's a door to the east, he'll check that one too!

Wandering into the room, he sees an opportunity. "Ooh, I wonder what's in here? Looks like a little closet." Robin checks out the door to the north with Marcellano, and should it appear safe he will open it.

Adolina inspects the foliage, however there is nothing there other than dead, rotting vegetation.

After Robin checks the door for traps, you open it and see a large chest sitting against the wall of this low ceiling chamber.

Robin, again checks the chest, and finding none, opens the chest. Inside is an agate-studded gold ring worth 50 gp, a necklace of emeralds and silver worth 350 gp, a pair of small leather gloves studded with pearls that are magical, a large sack filled with assorted coins (210 gp, 452 sp, and 108 cp), and a ruby-inlaid red dragon-scale cloak clasp worth 600 gp. In addition, all of the equipment belonging to the three captured Black Arrows in the barn is here, including a magical elven longbow.

Robin explains that the pearl-studded gloves are Gloves of Arrow Snaring.

Gloves of Arrow Snaring:
Once worn, these snug gloves seem to meld with the hands, becoming almost invisible to casual observation. Twice per day, the wearer can act as if he had the Snatch Arrows feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisites for the feat. Both gloves must be worn for the magic to be effective, and at least one hand must be free to take advantage of the magic.

"Looks handy!" Robin pauses momentarily before continuing. "So who wants them?"

At the last door, Robin nods, incinerating his readiness to finish their mop-up duty.

Opening the door you see a room. This low ceiling room features a floor of hard packed earth stained in many places by blood and mold. A lumpy mattress lies heaped against the west wall, and what appear to be several half finished chairs made of flesh and bone lie against the eastern wall.

An ogrekin with one of the wicked ogre hooks, is waiting in the far corner and two rather large rats are ready to protect him. As you look, he yells at the rats, "attack".

Robin moves up, just into the room and begins to inspire his comrades. Cadas also moves into the room and releases a flood of negative energy, wounding slightly all of the foes. Marcellano, zaps the nearest rat with magic missiles from his wand. Atrius moves up to the nearest rat, and critically wounds it. Adolina, meanwhile, ignores the rats and heads directly for the ogrekin and wounds it.

Hucker, the ogrekin, rages and swings his hook at Adolina, critically wounding her, while the rat next to her misses. The other rat, manages to bite Atrius.

Adolina, working on the principle that it's better that the other guy stops fighting, abandons defense for an all-out offense.

Sorry, between the eclipse (which was fantastic) and work (which is horrendous), lost track of this.

"Yikes, looks like the ogre got you hook, line and sinker, Adolina!" Robin tries rather desperately to make the ogre laugh at his terrible joke.

Marcellano blinks, then scowls when he sees the ogre strike Adolina. "Adolina! Is this one actually going to present a threat? Well that's obnoxious."

He strides into the room, squeezing past Robin to join the others in the tight confines. "Can't get a great shot...ah well," he mutters, and sketches a strange symbol in the air. It hangs there, glowing orange, as he brings his outstretched fingers around in a great circle and then jabs them at the ogrekin. Two jets of flame shoot forth!

Scorching ray! Figuring he has some kind of cover because of all the people, though...

Ray 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 vs. touch
Ray 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

...I think those might actually both hit!

Damage ray 1: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 4) = 16

Robin tries to get the ogrekin laughing at his terrible joke, but the creature does not seem to have a sense of humor, and ignores the spell. Cadas enlarges herself, and stabs at the rat that was biting Adolina. Marcellano uses his scorching ray spell to burn the ogrekin. Atrius swings twice at the rat in front of him, killing it, then steps up to be next to Adolina. Adolina abandons any pretense of defense and all out attacks the ogrekin, wounding it badly.

Both the ogrekin and the rat are surprised by the amount of damage that were done to them, that they both miss as they try to hurt Adolina.

I think Adolina takes the ogrekin down, but if I'm wrong redirect these attacks to him.

Marcellano smiles as he sees the tide turn. "That's more like it!" Choosing to fall back on his wand again, he blasts the rat.

Robin sees that the rest of the group has things well in hand, and steps back letting them handle the ogrekin and rats. Cadas, still large, stabs the rat again, while Marcellano casts a magic missile at the rat, that still doesn't die. Adolina swings at the ogrekin, killing it and Atrius finishes off the final rat.

With the final ogrekin dead, it seems that the farm house has been cleared out. Searching the room, you find on the ogrekin the following: potion of cure moderate wounds, +1 hide armor, +1 ogre hook, amulet of natural armor +1, collection of severed noses in wax-sealed tin, 235 gp.
