Tinuviel Surana |

Boo walked over to where the sheriff and the priest were, tired and a bit embarrassed. She hadn't actually done anything.
Her spirits brightened immeasurably when the butterflies swarmed around.
"On my way! Kvothe, see what is going on over there, please?" Tinuviel gestured in the direction of the bark and the scream.
I hope the dog is alright she thought, then hurried off to see what she could do.

Rogar Stefanssen |

"Vhat in the nine-hells is going on," The short and stern dwarf grunted. "Don't you longshanks have any type of town guard, a militia to defend your people. There veren't enough Goblins to set a Dwarven stable on fire, yet your village is in flames."
Rogar took a deep breath prepping to continue his berating of the Longshanks when he heard the scream.
"By the Father's hammer. Vhat a mess. Sherrif vhen I finish killing these pests, ve vill have a long talk about your longshanks overconfidence in the security of your homes."
And with that Rogar spit and dashed off toward the north.

Cadas |

The battle is ended and the fire is slowly being brought under control. A few homes are damaged, a few stalls ruined, but the overall carnage was controlled by your quick-thinking and rapid actions.
As you stand there panting and gasping after the near constant battle, a town guard rushes up to you. "'Cuse me, Your Honors, but the Sherriff'd like word with you a the Cathedral steps if you can. Follow me and we'll get there."
Picking your way through the litter of goblin bodies and the carnage of the fight you see Hemlock in discussion with Father Zantus. As you approach the cleric turns to you. "Desna be praised, you have saved the church and the town. However can we repay you?"
Sherriff Hemlock looks askance at the priest, "Ya can start by getting them some o' that Butterfly Magic an' healing their wounds. I need their help further.
"Oh yes, of course," Zantus says. He makes the requisite prayers and gestures and a cloud of swirling swallowtails, still present in the area from earlier in the day swarms on top of you. Whereever the butterflies land on you the healing and restorative touch renews your spirit and heals your wounds.
[dice=Channel Energy]2d6 + remove any conditions like Fatigue etc. That should be enough for everyone to be full again.
As Hemlock turns to you, the sound of a frantic dog bark comes from the north followed by a scream of a man. "You best go see what that commotion is, my guards and I will make sure none o' these gobbies are still in the town. Sounds like it's coming from north o' the church." He nods his thanks and takes his squad of soldiers through the yard, checking for any stray or straggling goblins.
If you choose to honor the Sherriff's request and investigate the screams and furious barking, place your tokens at south edge of the City Walls map.
Cadas you can retcon...
Hmm, How about you retconning the reward. lol. Cadas is the party healer. Everyone was at full before the Desna guy channeled and the priest should be able to see that. Let him save the magic for when we or someone else needs it. Cadas is rolling bad in combat. Your recommended retcon makes her feel even less useful. :(

Cadas |

I have everyone's wounds fully healed Sheriff, as I am sure the good father can see. Gozreh provides. What I could use is a real shield. Mine is back at the inn. But of course we will go and have a look.

DM DoctorEvil |

Ok Cadas. You have value, really!. Let's say the cool butterfly trick was a Bless Spell instead, ok?
I will set the scene for new map (see link at top of page) as time permits today.

Robin the Jester |
"Way to go, Cadas!" remarks Robin as the priestess skewers the goblin bard. "I thought that croaking would never stop."
Any chance the bard goblin has a non-martial weapon to take? Robin doesn't use the dogslicer well.
Robin cheers at receiving the blessing of Desna (because we sure need it!) and heads up the road to investigate the barking.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

"When you said small internal problems, Sheriff, I didn't think you meant..." Smoke's good-natured stress-induced humor is interrupted by the barking and the scream. He turns to the others who are all also running along and nods. "Let's go, then!"
Here's hoping to one combat where I don't have to double move!

DM DoctorEvil |

Sorry to leave you hanging guys. It's been a day! and the weekend isn't looking much better. I'm squeezing in a lunchtime post or two.
Boo sends the raven aloft once again to spy on the situation. You can use his perception to check the spoilers coming in subsequent posts.
The Sherriff says to Cadas: "I have found that all gods provide in their own way. Usually they just provide trouble...You already have one of my guards shields what more can i give you?" You did pick one up before the last fight right? If not one of the nearby soldiers gives you a light steel shield.
Robin there just aren't a lot of small sized weapons around. You could pick up a club, a dagger, or a spear from a fallen soldier, but they are all medium-sized and you'd take a -2 penalty on attacks. The goblins have small weapons, but they are the dogslicers. Let me know.
"You needn't lecture me, Master Dwarf," the Sherriff starts to say as the barking/screaming starts. "I have been saying much the same. There are guards and the gate is locked at sunset. Not enough, but these Chelish merchants will not part easily with their coins until the need has past."
As your group begins to jog off, Hemlock looks Smoke square in the eye. "Keep them safe lad, I have feeling the bad times are only beginning.". And with that he saunters off to track down any stragglers.

DM DoctorEvil |

Following the sound of a worried dog barking ferociously, you jog up Church Street and nearly all the way to Northgate, where you entered town yesterday. To your left is the back side of the White Deer Inn, the ornate stag carvings chopped and burning, the building mostly untouched. To your right, and old stable and guardpost, which looks like it has been ransacked. Ahead looms the city wall and Northgate.
The barking seems to be coming from near the wall and slightly to your right. In the darkness, it's hard to make out exactly what's happening from 100 ft away.
I hope it's obvious if you score higher than a 20, that you can read the 15 too, etc.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Smoke identifies that there is, in fact, a dog barking, and heads in that direction (naturally).

Tinuviel Surana |

Whispered "Hold up, there are goblins in both sets of bushes." And Boo gestures to indicate which bushes exactly.

Cadas |

Aye, I have your light shield. And I'll gladly trade it for a heavy shield if I can find one in this chaos, but it will serve for now .
Surveying the area where the barking comes from Cadas cast light on her shield as she moves.
You indicated its getting dark, yet?
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 She seems to be focused on getting the spell off and does not notice the activity.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

"I don't see any..."
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Smoke notices them and drops down low, trying to stay hidden. "Found 'em," he says, and points along with Boo to help the others.

Die, Dog, Die - Surprise Round
Good Guys
Cadas: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Robin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Rogar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Smoke: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Tinuviel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Bad Guys
Goblin Commando, mounted: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Red Goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Blue Goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
White Goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Goblin Commando, unmounted: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
For a change, you have the ability to sneak up on the bad guys here. All goblins are busily cowering in fear or battling the dog. Make a plan and then anyone who wants to try, can make opposed stealth checks to get closer. If you just want to take the normal surprise round actions (move or standard but not both) you can do that also. If someone is spotted by the goblins, the surprise round will happen at that point instead. OK? That Light spell is going to make sneaking a lot harder...

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Smoke is rocking +0 Stealth, Cadas is at -6, Boo's at +0, Robin's at +7 and Rogar's at -6. I figure we might as well keep the light spell up and just charge the living daylights out of them.

Cadas |

If someone wants to stealth she will hang back - not her style though. She is all about moving in close as quickly as possible. Cadas will use her surprise round to move 20' down the road.

Tinuviel Surana |

Boo is casting 'Summon Monster I' for an eagle. The summoning takes one round. The bird poofs into existence, does one round of attacking and poofs out.
Mr Red Goblin will be given the opportunity to make a new bird friend. The eagle should appear right when everyone else begins their attack and not before.
Our friend the eagle has stats right here. I believe he does a claw/claw/bite three melee attack blue plate special with dessert and a drink.

Robin the Jester |
Robin can sneak but can't really fight (I'm sure you've noticed by now). So let's run Tinuviel's trick and then start the surprise round as the beast appears!
Although, does that mean Tinvuiel's eagle would only get a Standard Action? That would be sad, and I'm not sure if that's what she's looking for.

Rogar Stefanssen |

As Rogar approaches, his takes care to look and listen for potential ambushes.
His finely honed sense detect the presence of the riders and the Goblins in the buses. He turns his attention for a moment to the young Shoanti Barbarian. Waving his hand silently to get the young mans attention, he points to one bush and shows two fingers and the points to the Shoanti. He then points at the bush nearest the rider, shows two fingers and then points to himself. Finally he shows three fingers, then two fingers, then one finger...
I'll wait my turn but clearly I vote charge lol

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Oddly, they always get a full-round, no matter how they're summoned. There's no hedge cases!
Also, Robin is great at fighting. Look at all of the AoOs you've given me! Why can't I hold all of these AoOs! *stumble stumble*

DM DoctorEvil |

I would swear I posted this before I had to run off this afternoon, but perhaps I never pushed the button...apologies.
Die, Dog, Die - Surprise Round
21 Gray Goblin
20 Blue Goblin
20 Tinuviel
19 Smoke
17 Robin
17 White Goblin
13 Red Goblin
7 Mounted Goblin
6 Rogar
4 Cadas
For their actions the hiding goblins are surprised and have no actions.
Casting Time 1 round
Components V, S, F/DF (a tiny bag and a small candle)
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect one summoned creature
Duration 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no
This spell summons an extraplanar creature (typically an outsider, elemental, or magical beast native to another plane). It appears where you designate and acts immediately, on your turn. It attacks your opponents to the best of its ability. If you can communicate with the creature, you can direct it not to attack, to attack particular enemies, or to perform other actions. The spell conjures one of the creatures from the 1st Level list on Table 10–1. You choose which kind of creature to summon, and you can choose a different one each time you cast the spell.
A summoned monster cannot summon or otherwise conjure another creature, nor can it use any teleportation or planar travel abilities. Creatures cannot be summoned into an environment that cannot support them. Creatures summoned using this spell cannot use spells or spell-like abilities that duplicate spells with expensive material components (such as wish).
When you use a summoning spell to summon a creature with an alignment or elemental subtype, it is a spell of that type. Creatures on Table 10–1 marked with an “*” are summoned with the celestial template, if you are good, and the fiendish template, if you are evil. If you are neutral, you may choose which template to apply to the creature. Creatures marked with an “*” always have an alignment that matches yours, regardless of their usual alignment. Summoning these creatures makes the summoning spell's type match your alignment.
Tinuviel decides that if she can't hit the monsters, maybe her summoned creatures can. She takes out the small candle and tiny bag and begins the ritual to bring a creature into this plane. A shimmering starts to occur in the area behind the goblin as the portal starts to come into existence.
Sounds like the rest of you are charging, make your arrows and get ready. The eagle will come on Tinuviel's on the next round.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

What's the portal for? Summon monster doesn't really do that. I'm charging into the space right there so I can get a surprise round charge and I'm confused about what exactly that means and why it has to be there. :X

DM DoctorEvil |

Don't fret, Smoke. The summoned monster(or animal or whatever) has to come from somewhere. Since this is a full round spell this indicates the place where the creature will appear and is a "one-way" portal to whereever the creatures come from (some zoo somewhere is still trying figure that out). Since this is an eagle, the portal is actually in the air, over your head, so you can occupy the same square. This was the only space within the 25' casting range that was also next to the intended target. If she were summoning a tiger, you might have had issues.
Die, Dog, Die - Surprise Round
The heroes charge into the fray, trumpeting loudly. The goblins act all scared and surprised, cawing and crying out.
End of Surprise Round
Now the fun starts, I don't know why goblins have the Improved Intitiative feat, but it makes it so they get to go first in most rounds. Round 1 coming up

DM DoctorEvil |

In my home game, when you surprise (I mean truly surprise an enemy) they lose their actions from the intiative count that actually alerted them to your presence (whether that's a Perception check or any attack). In this case, Smoke's charging would've been the trigger, so those that already acted ahead (Blue and Grey) will be surprised and flat-footed this round. I will use that method unless someone has objections (we can discuss in the Discussion tab, if you like). It works to your advantage this timee, but may not always.
Die, Dog, Die - Round 1
21 Gray Goblin surprised
20 Blue Goblin surprised
20 Tinuviel/Eagle
19 Smoke
17 Robin
17 White Goblin
13 Red Goblin
7 Mounted Goblin
6 Rogar
4 Cadas
From out of nowwhere a screaming eagle appears above Red, it's talons flexed and beak ripping.
Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Talon 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Talon Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
The unlucky Red manages to avoid the beak, but both the slashing talons strike him full in the face turning into a bloody mess. The stunned goblins falls dead, as the eagle, arcing upwards, poofs into the air from whence it came.
That was pretty effective! Ok, you guys roll em up. The other 3 goblins, who were surprised last round, will get to act this time after Boo, Smoke, Robin group.

Tinuviel Surana |

Boo decides Mr. White Square Goblin (or is that Ms. White Square goblin? It would grieve Boo mightily if she were gender insensitive) needs a new friend.
She casts Summon Monster I for an eagle to appear and say hello to the forlorn and lonely little goblin.
She also takes a five foot step forward.

Robin the Jester |
Round 1
"Remind me not to make any bird jokes," says Robin to Tinuviel and Kvothe as an eagle rips the nearest goblin into shreds. Robin moves toward the other cluster of goblins, pulls out a bit of butter between his thumb and forefinger, and wiggles it at the surprised creatures.
Afterwards he licks his fingers clean.
Move, and cast Grease, as shown on map.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Surprise Round - Die, Dog, Die
Smoke lunges out of the brush before the spell finishes completion...
Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
In his hurry, his attack is nothing more than amateurish.
Short charge-- look at the discussion thread, I linked the rule there.
Round 1 - Die, Dog, Die
Seeing the eagle rip the goblin to pieces, Smoke doesn't even break stride. He keeps running forward, sword in hand, and finally swings it at the goblin mounted on the horrific dog-thing-- hoping that the surprise can edge him just past its weapon's zone of effectiveness.
Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 = 17
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 = 8
He arcs the hellknight's sword through the air, praying for it to make contact.

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - round 1 - continued
Tinuviel, pleased with the effectiveness of her summoning prepares to repeat the process and makes the appropriate words and gestures to bring another creature into existence.
Glad that the screaming eagle mauled the goblin he had missed, Smoke continues his charge right into the mounted goblin. His greatsword catches the light just as it crashes into the goblin, rending a wound in its arm and shoulder.
The Mounted Goblin is shaken, but remains in the saddle after the great blow. He turns the mount who takes a bite at Smoke with it's rodent like mouth.
Goblin Dog bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The bite misses the barbarian as the rider also slashes at him with his long horsechopper.
Chopper: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Smoke also easily avoids this blow. The rider then spurs his mount in attempt to get past the killer longshanks and get in the open.
Attack as SA, depart as Move Action, Smoke gets an AoO to stop him.
Meanwhile, Robin tosses his magic butter out on at the feet of the lurking goblins.
Grey Reflex vs DC 14: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Blue Reflex vs DC 14: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
The Grease spell does not spill them immediately, but hinders their movements as they gather themselves to attack.
White Goblin sees the great barbarian chase his superior, and launches himself headlong at the longshanks, staying clear of the wounded dog in the process.
White Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
This attack does catch Smoke who was avoiding the mounted attacks and scratches him in the back.
ok, Rogar and Cadas (who I think I'm running),then end of round.

Rogar Stefanssen |

ROUND 1
Rogar shakes his head at the complete lack of tactics and continues his charge into combat. Seeing the Goblin trying to chase down his barbarian companion he bears down of the beasty and tries to slam into him from behind.
"For the SKY!" He roars as he drops his shoulder and swings the shield up toward the Goblin's spine.

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - Round 1 - continued
The shield-toting dwarf charges behind the barbarian, and his attack is also successful. With a mighty wallop his shield catches the goblin under the chin, but the little bugger is tough, and recovers enough to stay in the fight.
Cadas moves toward the slippery goblins and as she approaches she calls on Gozreh to unleash her fury on the Blue Goblin.
Storm Burst: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 1 = 11 but while the storm raises wind, the goblin does not suffer any lasting damage.
End of Round 1
Still need Smoke's AoO vs the riding goblin which we'll pick up soon.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Attack of Opportunity 1 - Die, Dog, Die!
Seriously considering taking combat reflexes... I'm getting a lot of these!
With the option to cut down the goblin or crush the dog, he goes for the uglier one: the dog. Smoke hopes the blow will knock the goblin out of the saddle, saving Robin the effort of putting him on the ground for him.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Are we blessed still from after the pyro fight? If so, +1 for 15
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6) + 4 = 11

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - Round 1 - Continued
Yes, you are Blessed still, duration is 1 min/lvl so you have more than 2 minutes remaining still.
The swing is a mighty one, and the Goblin Dog looks like a sure victim, until the rider's great skill turns him at the last moment and avoids the oversize blade. The dog scampers off, rider in tow.
Round 1 complete
By my house rule, Blue and Grey goblin will get only Surprise Round actions to open Round 1. Everyone else has normal activity, so far.

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - Round 2
You have gotten used to the foolishness of goblin tactics this evening, but the speed of the goblin mount, and the skill of the rider look like a big challenge.
The dog who's barking brought you to this combat, collapses in a heap as the goblin rides away. You see a large rent in his side where he was mortally wounded, but refused to go down while his master, who quivers behind the woodpile, was threatened.
As the dog gives up the ghost, the man cries out. "No Brutus! They killed Brutus! Make them pay!" But he remains in hiding.
21 Gray Goblin surprised (buttered)
20 Blue Goblin surprised (buttered)
20 Tinuviel/Eagle
19 Smoke
17 Robin
17 White Goblin (wounded)
7 Mounted Goblin
6 Rogar
4 Cadas
The Blue and Gray Goblinsattempt to move slowly from the Greased spot.
Gray acrobatics DC 10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Blue Acrobatics DC 10: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Blue moves forward to engage Cadas while Grey moves away.
Ok, Boo and her Summoned Friend. You only have a 25' range on the spell, do you still want White as your target? As Smoke points out, there's no reason you can't change your mind before it bursts into existence. Smoke and Robin up next.

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Round 2 - Die, Dog, Die
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 12
Sadly, the strike is just short. He calls out to Rogar as he maneuvers, trying to pin the goblin down: "The one on the dog is coming back!"

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - Round 2 - continued
Another (maybe it's the same one, who knows?) screeching eagle flashes into existence talons aimed at Blue Goblin who screams in fright.
Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Talon 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Talon and Beak damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Talons and sharp beak flashing, the eagle slashes at the face of the poor goblin, turning into a bloody mess. With fortitude borne of desparation, the goblin continues to fight on, however.
Smoke wheels to attack the White Goblin who snuck up behind him, causing a wound. However, his return stroke is deflected enough by the jittery creature that it falls harmless to the side.
Tinuviel and Robin up, Rogar just as well roll his smash on White too, he'll get his round in first before it takes effect, however.

Robin the Jester |
Round 2
"Get back here you bad doggie!" Robin goes after the dog and attempts to daze it.
Cast Daze, DC13.

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - round 2 - continued
Tinuviel dashes gracefully down the road and near the gate.
Robin casts his Daze spell at the Goblin Dog but it seems to have no effect on the creature. Might need to read the spell description on that one again...
White Goblinperforms a fighting withdrawl successfully avoiding any attacks and moving from a threatened position to the side of his comrade. He unwittingly almost trips over Tinuviel as he retreats backwards.full round withdraw gives double move
You see the Mounted Goblin spur his mount more and wheels him around the battlefield, putting away his long chopper and pulling out a bow and nocking an arrow.
Cadas looks to skewer the recently raked Blue Goblin with her holy weapon.
Trident: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The blow catches the bloody goblin in the belly and it lets out a dying scream as it falls to her.
Just need Rogar and we move on to next round.

Cadas |

Checking back in. Had a good time, and avoided most of the rain. :) I did have a signal at one point while were were ferrying boats for canoeing and posted, but I do not see that it made it to the board here, Hmm. Wonder where it went? lol
After shaking the goblin from her weapon Cadas uses her move to move closer to the wounded dog, hoping to save it.

Rogar Stefanssen |

ROUND 2!
Rogar angered by the fleeing foes lowers his head and rushes to cut off the rider. His legs pumping as hard as they can, but too short to reach the dog. The best he can do is place himself between his allies.
"C'mon you rat rider, you'll find me a bit more dangerous than a pup!"

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - round 3
With the goblins on the other side of the field, the man behind the woodpile comes out to check on his dog. You see he is dressed in noble-man's finery and carries a walking stick. His usually neat hair is amuss, and his clothing is torn and stained. He kneels beside the poor canine, visibly upset.
21 Gray Goblin
20 Tinuviel
19 Smoke
17 Robin
17 White Goblin (wounded)
7 Mounted Goblin (wounded)
6 Rogar
4 Cadas
The Gray Goblin also brings out a shortbow and draws a bead on the nearest target - Robin
Bowshot: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
But the shot flies harmlessly overhead.
[ooc]Time for the heroes, Boo, Smoke, and Robin

Smoke from Two-Rivers |

Round 2 - Die, Dog, Die
Smoke crashes across the road and grass, drawing down a mighty charge on the bow-wielding goblin.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 = 22
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 3) + 4 = 13
The swing is perfect; his form is impeccable. Turning to face the rest of the combat, he prepares to interdict between Robin and his wounded foe. He shouts to Cadas: "Keep that guy back! It's dangerous over here!"

Robin the Jester |
Round 3
Oops, totally forgot the limits of Daze!
Seeing a rather wounded foe before him, Robin decides he can finish it off, if only he can land a well placed attack. "Hey goblin, catch!" Stepping forward and drawing the goblin weapon he tucked away previously, he hurls it!
Free: 5-foot step toward White Goblin.
Move: Draw dogslicer.
Std: Improvised Thrown Weapon at White Goblin. I'm assuming -4 penalty for improvised weapon, no range penalty (within 10 feet).
Thrown dogslicer attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 7
But the goblin was wise enough not to catch the blade.

DM DoctorEvil |

Die, Dog, Die - Round 3 - continued
Boo likes giving goblins gifts (like eagles in the face), but this time she tries an old favorite, the acid dart. Unfortunately, the goblin has no desire to receive this gift and ducks out of the way.
Meanwhile Robin is also in the giving mood and decides White Goblin might like a nice meat cleaver to complete his set. He launches the goblin weapon but his aim fails him and the knife clatters harmlessly to the ground. Hey, it the thought that counts, right?...
Smoke does what Smoke does best. He bounds across the gate-yard and with all his momentum behind it, he smashes his sword into the bow-wielding goblin. With a terrific clash, the blade lands true, and the goblin falls, never to rise again.
White Goblin shows his gratitude for all this gift givinng by screaming like banshee and leaping at Robin with his goblin knife outstretched.
Goblin attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
A normal-sized man might've been in trouble, but against the halfling, the blade swishes harmelssly above his head.
The mounted goblin continues riding around the battlefield like a Commanche warrior. Circling and firing an arrow at the dwarf who attemtped to block his path.
Bowshot: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 5 - 4 = 15
While the shot may have been true enough for a stationary man, the bounding of the goblin beast, causes the shot to be just a bit off, and Rogar catches it with his shield instead of his body.
Rogar and Cadas to finish the round. Enjoy!
