To your left, a large fireball erupts at a point just south of the Cathedral's western entrance. Near you, Amieko shouts: "Dear Gods, no! That's the fuel for tonight's bonfire. With that they can burn the whole town! You must stop them! We'll hold them off here!"

Need DC 15 Perception checks from all, may not take 10 this time. Anyone with Darkvision may take +4 bonus, low-light vision +2.

DC 15 or better::
Turning towards the towering column of flame, you see the sinister shadowy figures of a handful of goblins lighting torches from a wagon filled with wood and fuel. They are led by a gobliness, who is chanting the singsong nonsense that has been so grating to your ears. You may act in the surprise round.

Failed DC 15 Perception::
The light from the fireball gives you temporary night-blindness, and while you can hear the singing coming from that area grow louder, you cannot make out the cause. You may NOT act during the surprise round.

Initiative Rolls:

26 Blue Goblin
23 Red Goblin
20 Tinuviel
16 Purple Goblin
15 Robin
14 Smoke
11 Yellow Goblin
6 Cadas
3 Rogar

After igniting a cask of oil and causing the explosion, all the base goblins grab staves of wood, lighting them in the oily flames. The singing Goblin starts up her song from the beginning again, stirring the others into a frothing-at-the-mouth frenzy (not that they needed much help.)

These are their surprise round actions. If you make your perception checks, post your surprise round actions also. Remember only a Move or Standard Action (not both) in surprise rounds.

Female Elf Wizard, 3, Per +4, Init +3, AC 13, Fort +2, Ref +4, Will +1 (Familiar: Raven) HP (18)21 (3/8 acid darts)

Tinuviel's perception 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12

Kvothe's perception 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 2 = 21

Tinuviel blinks hard to clear her eyes.

Kvothe flutters up higher to see what's going on.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Seeing the danger Cadas growls in anger and moves to stop the goblins. Holding her new shield in one hand and her trident in the other she reaches the extent of her move but then suddenly grows in size standing nearly 10' tall.

Perception:

Rogar grimaces as the fire grows. His people's history with these monsters gives him insight into how fire drives them and what they are willing to do to make it grow.

"The flames will whip them into an even worse frenzy than that which we've faced. Onward!"

Surprise Round
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 Success!
I would just like to say that Giant Cadas is awesome!

"Let's go go go!" Recognizing the danger, Robin quickly turns toward the conflagration and moves toward it. "I want to put a stop to this song, it's getting really annoying!" What color is the singing gobliness?

Move action toward the fire.

SURPRISE! ROUND!

Rogar moved quickly toward the flames hoping to catch the Goblins between himself and the Enlarged Cleric.

Surprise Round - Goblin Pyros

26 White Goblin
26 Blue Goblin
23 Red Goblin
20 Tinuviel
16 Purple Goblin (singing one, sorry)
15 Robin
14 Smoke
11 Yellow Goblin
6 Cadas
3 Rogar

As the goblins light their torches, the Purple Goblin continues her Mariah Carey impersonation letting out unintelliglble squeeks and squeals to their capering delight.

Tinuviel can't make out the cause of the explosion, but she sends her familiar aloft, who can. You can read the spoiler, but not act in the surprise round, ok?

The halfling bard does see the culprits and moves to cut them off, yelling at the others.

Smoke, who had his eyes on the coming battle with Ameiko is blinded by the flash of fire, and cannot act.

Cadas - not like me to get all rules-y here, and I agree that Giant Cadas is really cool, but using Su ability is a Standard Action which cannot be coupled with a Move Action in the surprise round. Do you want to move or grow? It appears your base movement becomes 40' (30' armored) at Large size, so you have a little faster advance if you grow first. Tell me if you have a different rule interpretation.

Rogar sees the sneaky buggers and considers an enveloping movement like that used at the battle of Redmont Pass to defeat the goblins. He moves to flank them if possible.

TO ALL: Two things please: 1) if you use a cool ability like Enlarge, can you link the PRD reference or spoiler it? It will help my refereeing immensely, especially the first time. 2) if you move your own token, especially out of sequence, can you please use arrows to show path taken or intended path? It will help if we have to rewind a bit or if there's an AoO coming.

Once Cadas decides to be large or medium we'll close Surprise Round and be ready for Round 1.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

The plant domain enlarge is a swift action. You may rule that I cannot take both a swift and a move in the surprise round but I would disagree. Running a home game atm - will try to link the domain later.

Ok, I found the reference.

Growth Subdomain:
Growth Subdomain
Associated Domain: Plant.

Replacement Power: The following granted power replaces the wooden fist power of the Plant domain.

Enlarge (Su): As a swift action you can enlarge yourself for 1 round, as if you were the target of the enlarge person spell. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Replacement Domain Spells: 1st—enlarge person, 5th—righteous might.

You're good. I'll allow a swift action in the surprise round. It'd help if I read the first four words of the entry...The entry in PRD says you can enlarge for 1 round vs Enlarge Person spell as 1 min/lvl. So you're big, but only for a little bit. Enjoy your home game!

End of Surprise Round - Goblin Pyros

On to round 1!

Thought I'd add the encounter name from the AP just to liven things up.

The goblin triumvirate (White, Blue and Red) take their torches to nearest flammable structures and starting firing those building or tents, oblivious to your approach for now, even with Giant Cadas looming. They are consumed with burning and destroying.

Tinuviel follows Giant Cadas towards the goblin pyromaniacs.

While the other goblins are busy burning, Purple Goblin is fully aware and concerned about the priestess' new size. She stops singing, humming softly instead, and reaches into her belt pouch. Pullling out a goose feather and making unusual hand motions, she points at Cadas. A moment later the dour Shoanti begins to smirk, then giggle, then snort, and finally laugh out loud.

Need Will Save vs DC 12 to avoid spell affect. Success means no effect, failure means you are consumed by laughter and fall prone and cannot act for 1 round.

Spellcraft DC 16 for anyone in LOS:
This is goblin version of Hideous Laughter

Robin and Smoke you are up.

Double move! Red arrows for my path.

Woot!

Goblin Pyros - Round 1 - continued

Robin hesitates for a moment, waiting for the dwarf shield-slinger to make the first move. Moving you down in the order Robin following the delay rules, you will act after Rogar rest of this combat.

Delay Rules:
Delay
By choosing to delay, you take no action and then act normally on whatever initiative count you decide to act. When you delay, you voluntarily reduce your own initiative result for the rest of the combat. When your new, lower initiative count comes up later in the same round, you can act normally. You can specify this new initiative result or just wait until some time later in the round and act then, thus fixing your new initiative count at that point.

You never get back the time you spend waiting to see what's going to happen. You also can't interrupt anyone else's action (as you can with a readied action).

Initiative Consequences of Delaying: Your initiative result becomes the count on which you took the delayed action. If you come to your next action and have not yet performed an action, you don't get to take a delayed action (though you can delay again).

If you take a delayed action in the next round, before your regular turn comes up, your initiative count rises to that new point in the order of battle, and you do not get your regular action that round.

- Robin (delaying)

While the jester is hesitating, Smoke is running. Already feeling behind due to not seeing the goblins, he sprints at full speed toward the chanting goblin.

He arrives just in time to be met by a swinging torch from Yellow Goblin who has moved to protect his leader.

Yellow Torch attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

Fortunately, the flaming brand thunks off Smoke's armor, with no harm done.

Okay, Cadas, Rogar, and Robin to finish the round

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Sorry for the delay - ran a home game tonight.

Cadas is disappointed when goblins do not try to rush her but sees the goblin singer wave feathers at her and she thinks Well, at least I drew the attention of one of them. Then she feels an attack on her mind but is able to mentally thrust it aside. Feeble. she thinks as she closes the distance with her enemy.

Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Maintaining her large form she closes on the closest goblin and attacks it.

Round 1

Tinuviel continues to unintentionally move behind cover. As soon as she can get a clear shot at a goblin, she will throw an acid dart.

Male Dwarf Ranger 4 | HP 30/30 | AC 21 | T 12 | FF 19 | F +9 | R +9 | W +6 | I +4 | P +10

ROUND 1 Sorry was caught in a client meeting all morning

Rogar rushes toward the Goblins as fast as he can. Pushing past overturned carts and dodging bodies. He closes on the Goblins at last, but the run left him unable to attack.

"Prepare for your end, you hairless children of dogs and lovers of horses!"

Goblin Pyros- Round 1- continued

Giant Cadas easily shrugs off the mind-altering spell from the goblin caster, and lunges at Blue Goblin with her oversized trident. Unfortunately, the intended victim sees it coming and avoids the forked weapon. I think I understand that you are using 2/6 enlarge now to continue the effect?

Rogar double-times it to intercept the marauding goblins but arrives to late to make an attack before the goblin can react.

More smart-mouth comments from Robin also start to affect White Goblin irritating him and offsetting the benefits of his singing leader. Is it your understanding that the area of effect moves as you move for sustaining the performance? That is, you could envelop the rest of the attackers if you move forward w/o re-initiating a performance? That makes sense to me, and I'm not in a place I can research easily.

End of Round 1

No blood spilled on either side so far, but the goblins have spread the fire and the heroes are close enough to start some serious melee action. On to Round 2!

Goblin Pyros- Round 2

26 White Goblin (debuffed by Robin)
26 Blue Goblin
23 Red Goblin
20 Tinuviel
16 Purple Goblin (singer)
14 Smoke
11 Yellow Goblin
6 Cadas (enlarged)
3 Rogar
- Robin (delaying)

White is directly threatened by the dwarf and responds by swinging his burning torch into the face of the dour ranger.

White Torch: 1d20 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 - 1 = 1

But the attack is easily blocked by the shield-master. The goblin then tosses his burning brand aside and draws his slicer, as he moves to his right. Draw weapon as move action, 5ft step. This provokes AoO from Giant Cadas who has a 10' reach now, if you want (and provided you stayed enlarged). Smarter tactically than letting her stay behind him.

Blue Goblin also swings with his torch, at Cadas.

Blue Torch: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9

Again, the goblin attack is easily turned aside by the priestess and her immense shield.

Red Goblin hearing the cry from his Purple master, launches himself at the threatening longshanks barbarian. His attacks swing the flaming brand wildly.

Red Torch: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15 Dmg: 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2+1 fire damage = 3 total HP.

The torch catches Smoke on the arm causing slight bludgeoning damage, and 1 HP of burn damage. This can also be undone with a successful killing AoO from Giant Cadas with her extended reach, but need to chose one or the other to pursue.

Boo moves behind the enlarged cleric then behind the burning tent trying to find the right angle to make an acid attack but is frustrated in her ability to find a clear target so far.

The goblin caster alerts the rest of the crew to the attack, and turns up the volume and intensity of the song, making the goblin followers jump and sway. She steps back from the warrior with the big sword to avoid any messy melee and flicks out at him with her whip, trying to tangle his feet. 5ft step and Standard Action attack

Whip Trip attack vs Smoke's CMD 15: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (20) - 2 = 18

The whip from the retreating singer tangles in Smoke's feet as he advances into the battle, and just after the burning torch hits him, the whip knocks him off balance, and prone in front of two armed goblins!

Smoke is next and on the ground with Yellow Goblin threatening. What will you do? Robin and Rogar be ready...

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Seeing that two goblins are closing in on Smoke Cadas strikes at one there that provokes from her.

Large Trident: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 152d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4) + 3 = 8

That's a good question, and it's certainly how I'm treating it, although I think the rules are ambiguous.

Separately, I just realized there's an argument to be made that the area of effect of Satire is anywhere enemies hear it. Here's what Satire says:

Satire (Su): A court bard can use performance to undermine the confidence of enemies who hear it, causing them to take a –1 penalty on attack and damage rolls (minimum 1) and a –1 penalty on saves against fear and charm effects as long as the bard continues performing. This penalty increases by –1 at 5th level and every six levels thereafter. Satire is a language-dependent, mind-affecting ability that uses audible components. This performance replaces inspire courage.

Compare to another ability of the Court Bard:

Glorious Epic (Su): A court bard of 8th level or higher can weave captivating tales that engross those who hear them. Enemies within 30 feet become flat-footed unless they succeed at a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the bard’s level + the bard’s Cha modifier). A save renders them immune to this ability for 24 hours. Glorious epic is a language-dependent, mind-affecting ability that uses audible components.

So, thoughts about letting the effect be anywhere audible? Otherwise I'm fine with it being an area that moves with him.

*Edit* By the way, best argument for unlimited effect is that it makes the math easier - in most cases, just apply the effect across all enemies. In case you worry that Satire becomes more powerful than its counterpart Inspire Courage, note that enemies who don't share a language or are immune to mind-affecting abilities aren't affected, whereas Inspire Courage pretty reliably affects allies. (I didn't pick Court Bard because it's optimal, but because it fit the concept well.)

Satire _is_ anywhere that's audible. By game mechanics, anyone who can make a -20 Perception check can hear it. You have to be 20 squares away from Robin for it to be a 0 check, and 20 more for it to be DC 20-- technically, they auto-check to see if they hear it, and if they do, they're debuffed. Don't add random drawbacks to your abilities! It's not Glorious Epic, so why would the drawbacks be the same? :P

I'd also say that Satire is actually really bad compared to Inspire, so removing the language-dependant portion of it or even the mind-affecting as well would make it still much worse but actually useful still. It has a lot of draw backs compared to the other version. That's mah opinion!

Enough with the OOC, I have a post to make! Dang Robin take your OOC to the discussion thread dude why you got to do a thing

Round 2!

Smoke growls and pounds a fist into the ground, standing up with reckless abandon. I provoke from both of them!

His anger peaks and he twists to face the goblin who burned him. The pain helps him feed the fire in the core of his being, and he reigns everything in again, feeding the flame with every part of him until nothing is left; Smoke is lost in unchained focus.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11

He uses the sword like a bat, swinging to strike the goblin with the flat of the blade. Without missing a beat, he lunges after the one who tripped him.

Stand, provoke from both goblins, rage, attack action on red goblin, five foot step. AC is lowered again!

Goblin Pyros - Round 2 - continued

The enlarged cleric's new-found size makes her attack just clumsy enough that the trident strikes the moving Red Goblin but deflects without causing damage.

Tripped by the gobliness' whip, Smoke finds himself on the ground. The 2 lurking goblins make lunging attacks on the lad while he is defenselessly trying to bounce up.Due to the "interrupting" nature of AoO, this occurs before you stand so have to take the AC penalty for prone unfortunately.

Red Goblin Torch: 1d20 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 - 1 = 0
Yellow Goblin Torch: 1d20 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 - 1 = 15
Damage: 1d2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 - 1 = 1+1 fire damage=2 HP total

Red Goblin's attack misses wildly, but Yellow strikes the rising barbarian, clubbing and charring his back.

Despite the pain, Smoke rises, anger churning inside him -- the fires taking him back to his youth and the burning and burning. He lashes out with his blade flattened. The force of the blow smashes the Red Goblin, who had burned him before, caving in his skull. Rage consuming him, the barbarian leaps after the whip-wielding goblin.

Yellow Goblin who connected when the lad was prone, tries to strike him again now that he is upright again.

Yellow torch: 1d20 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 - 1 = 10

But seeing his comrade cut down, the goblin leaves his swing well short of the mark.

Cadas, Rogar, and Robin are up next. One Goblin down so far.

Round 2

Robin suddenly realizes his insults are more effective than ever! He continues his jibes, mimicking the goblin song in a sarcastic tone.

As Giant Cadas shrinks, Robin notices a little goblin emerge from behind her form. "So that's where you were hiding!" Pulling out some more wool, he uses his favorite trick to distract the goblin.

Round 1!

As the Goblin swings his torch, Rogar deftly moves his shield in position to bat it away. His eyes shimmer with the light of the brand.

"Your fire is about to be extinguished beast," He growls with malice.

As the Goblin tries to recover the Dwarf slowly steps forward, pivots his hips turning his shield arm away from the goblin. His left hand grips his right and the handle of his shield. Then he swings back at the goblin.

attack:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 I'm guessing a 17 hits, damage 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Judging by the Goblins we just encountered, that should drop the White one. If so I will place my movement path so you can adjust my position for the next round.

Goblin Pyros - Round 2 - continued

Shrinking back to normal size, Cadas strikes at the nearest goblin again, but to no avail.

The burly dwarf smashes the goblin two-handed and the resulting crunch is quite satisfying. The goblin dies a painful death. Rogar then advances to see if he can add yet another notch in his shield.

Robin continues to annoy and insult the goblin, and adds then pulls his dazing spell on the Blue Goblin

Blue's Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17

The intended victim stops for a moment, but quickly shakes off the effect and continues it's brutish ways.

End of Round 2

Smoke frees himself from a bad situation and the goblins start to drop as Cadas becomes normal size again. Now the goblin caster is threatened. Could Round 3 end this fight?

- Robin

After shaking off the effects of the bard's spell, Blue Goblin sees his melee opponent shrink back to normal size and cackles maniacally. Throwing down his flaming torch and drawing his pointy goblin knife, he lunges at the Shoanti priestess.

Blue Stab: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 - 1 = 21
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 - 1 = 4
Damage: 1d4 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 - 1 = 2

The blade narrowly misses Cadas'neck, instead scraping her shoulder as the attacker shifts to his right.

The goblin singer sees the burly dwarf cut off her path to escape from Smoke. Knowing she likely cannot trip the sturdy dwarf, she drops her whip, and draws her dagger. She lunges at him, a wild madness in her eyes.

Purple Knife: 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 - 1 = 16

The viciousness of the attack surpries Rogar, but he recovers in time to deflect the blade with his trusty shield. The gobliness steps to the side after her frustrated attack, trying to get around the dwarf.

Ok, Boo is up followed by Smoke. I did do the Purple Goblin out of sequence, so if Boo does something nasty to her, I will undo that last action.

Round 2! - Goblin Pyros

Smoke sees the singing goblin scamper away, but is acutely aware of Cadas being struck behind him. Knowing the result of leaving her and Tinuviel behind with the two goblins, he evens the odds.

Turning to one goblin, he stomps his foot and swings the sword in a wild arc.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 3) + 7 = 12

He feels it impact. That's got to sting.

Smoke hurdles the dying goblin, coming at the one who cut Cadas from behind, and swings his sword-- ineffective and off the mark, but enough to distract it. It's suddenly heavy in his hands... The fire in his heart is raging again, and the burns across his body ache. He can feel the Skoan-quah marks on his body grow cold.

Smash yellow goblin!, five foot step, end rage. AC 13 now, fatigued for four rounds. More importantly, flanking for Cadas who is next! Count your +2!!

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Seeing Smoke's clever tactical move Cadas tries not to wast the opportunity and strikes at the goblin.

Trident: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 111d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

[ooc]Can I have a different dice rolling algorithm please? [/dice]

Since Yellow Goblin got squished, it's now Rogar and Robin then a wrap up.

Round 2

"Now just to shut you up," Rogar snarls at the Goblin.

He raises his shield high above his head. Goblin gore dripping from his auburn beard. His eyes flash with hatred as he brings the shield down.

Attack:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Round 3!

End Satire

Robin heads next to Tinuviel. "Watch and see how a professional gets it done," he boasts. "Hyah!" He takes a crack at the goblin with his whip.

Trip: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18. Miraculously, his whip does not strike the nearby neighbors but instead catches the blue goblin's little legs.

Goblin Pyros - round 3 continued

Tinuviel finally moves around all the obstacles and gets to the fray in time to throw a wild acid dart at Blue Goblin.

Smoke lashes out with his greatsword ending Yellow's miserable existence. His anger sated, the youth feels the adrenlin rush out of his system and slowly sidles into place to assist Cadas with the remaining brute.

The priestess' trident misses the mark yet again, even with the distratcion on Blue's flank, but the same distraction works for Robin whose whip curls around the creatures ankles, knocking him prone and leaving him exposed to attack.

Meanwhile, Rogar tries to pummel the chanter into silence, but his shield-bash is a little to slow for the nimble gobliness.

End Round 3

Another goblin dies, leaving only one prone, and the chanter.

Goblin Pyros - Round 4

While the fires still burn in Sandpoint, most of the sounds of goblins singing or growling, have stopped. Only the handful before you remain to be dealt with. Shouts from near the church indicate that help may be on the way from there. To the south, a rescue operation is under way to drag families from burning buildings. Nearer, the combat continues:

26 Blue Goblin
20 Tinuviel
16 Purple Goblin (singer)
14 Smoke
6 Cadas
3 Rogar
- Robin

The prone Blue attempts to rise drawing attacks from both Smoke and Cadas Resolve those first then on to your normal actions.

The Purple singer continues to step around Rogar, having lost her whip, she can only flail at him desparately with her slicer.

Purple slicer: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

But that blow dies on the dwarf's shield like so many others.

Easier to post bad guys when there's so few of 'em. Let's do the AoO's, then Boo can start us off down the list.

Attack of Opportunity 1 - Goblin Pyros

Smoke draws down on the goblin, hard. His burns throw him off, but luck is on his side.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 5 - 1 + 4 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12

"Cadas!" he shouts, looking helplessly to the fires growing. "Can you do something about this?"

He sighs, exasperated. "I'm starting to get why Hosk hates these little bastards so much!"

In case you don't know that murderizes Ol' Blue. All 5 of you have normal actions now. Good luck with the chanter who is harder to hit.

Female Elf Wizard, 3, Per +4, Init +3, AC 13, Fort +2, Ref +4, Will +1 (Familiar: Raven) HP (18)21 (3/8 acid darts)

Because it has worked ever so well so far, Boo throws an acid dart at Mr. Purple.

1d20 ⇒ 1 for 1d6 ⇒ 5 damage

Merciful Desna!

Male Human Barbarian 2; AC 14, 11 touch 13 flat-footed; HP 21/27, Fort +5, Ref +1, Will +0; +2 trait vs. fear; +1 Initiative, +5 Perception
Raging:
AC 12, 9 touch 11 flat-footed; HP 14/16, Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 trait vs. fear

Is there anything I can do about the growing fire? It's one goblin versus four people. I don't think it's half as dangerous as it was before when it had a posse.

Smoke you can go fight the fires if you want. Really just damage control and rescuing trapped persons, no way to actually put a big fire out. Ameiko and her crew are doing just that south of you off the map.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Another AOO is sort of pointless at the moment, yes? But here goes

Trident: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

On her turn Cadas advances on the singer and tries to end her.

Trident: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 181d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

And sorry for my delay - I had my weekly home game that I play in tonight. Tuesdays I run a game, so two games a week. And since I have played these first two fights (and that is all) I felt it unfair for me to prep Create Water. :)

Male Human Barbarian 2; AC 14, 11 touch 13 flat-footed; HP 21/27, Fort +5, Ref +1, Will +0; +2 trait vs. fear; +1 Initiative, +5 Perception
Raging:
AC 12, 9 touch 11 flat-footed; HP 14/16, Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 trait vs. fear

It's very tempting. If something doesn't happen and Smoke gets the chance, he's jumping into a house if he hears someone who needs help inside. Chaotic Good, away!

I really hope that hits, Cadas. I'll go ahead and say I'm delaying, but if it's still alive I'll jump in.

But if I have to...:

Smoke's tired arm lacks the strength to bring a real strike to bear.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 1 = 6
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7

Fatigued for 3 more rounds after this.

Goblin Pyros - Round 4 - continued

After the timely trip by Robin, the Blue Goblin was prone. Trying to stand he fell victim to a mighty stroke frm Smoke's blade. Even though the barbarian was worn from his anger, he had enough left for a killing stroke.

Yet another dart from the Elf Wizard resulted in yet another miss. She really did need some target practice.

Seeing the goblin singer was the only remaining target, Cadas strode with purpose around the flaming market stall and rammed the chanter through the belly with her holy weapon. Finally that damn singing was over...

End of Combat

Good Work! The dice gods were much friendly to most of you this combat, Boo excluded. All gain an additional 148 XP which should put each of you at 256/1300 or about 20% to Level 2. Will post a status summary in Discussion, and get a non-combat post up for next actions.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Cadas will gather her friends, new and old together, along with any townspeople who might be hurt and channel yet again.

Gozreh, help us in this time of great need! She calls out as positive energy bursts around the group in a 30' radius.

Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Male Human Barbarian 2; AC 14, 11 touch 13 flat-footed; HP 21/27, Fort +5, Ref +1, Will +0; +2 trait vs. fear; +1 Initiative, +5 Perception

"Thank you," Smoke gasps-- whether it's for the prayer to Gozreh that sizzles away the burns on his back or the fact that she stopped the goblin chanter's screaming is unclear.

The battle is ended and the fire is slowly being brought under control. A few homes are damaged, a few stalls ruined, but the overall carnage was controlled by your quick-thinking and rapid actions.

As you stand there panting and gasping after the near constant battle, a town guard rushes up to you. "'Cuse me, Your Honors, but the Sherriff'd like word with you a the Cathedral steps if you can. Follow me and we'll get there."

Picking your way through the litter of goblin bodies and the carnage of the fight you see Hemlock in discussion with Father Zantus. As you approach the cleric turns to you. "Desna be praised, you have saved the church and the town. However can we repay you?"

Sherriff Hemlock looks askance at the priest, "Ya can start by getting them some o' that Butterfly Magic an' healing their wounds. I need their help further.

"Oh yes, of course," Zantus says. He makes the requisite prayers and gestures and a cloud of swirling swallowtails, still present in the area from earlier in the day swarms on top of you. Whereever the butterflies land on you the healing and restorative touch renews your spirit and heals your wounds.

Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 + remove any conditions like Fatigue etc. That should be enough for everyone to be full again.

As Hemlock turns to you, the sound of a frantic dog bark comes from the north followed by a scream of a man. "You best go see what that commotion is, my guards and I will make sure none o' these gobbies are still in the town. Sounds like it's coming from north o' the church." He nods his thanks and takes his squad of soldiers through the yard, checking for any stray or straggling goblins.

If you choose to honor the Sherriff's request and investigate the screams and furious barking, place your tokens at south edge of the City Walls map.

Cadas you can retcon that channel if you want. Your choice
